Ultimate Pi Day WINNERS!!

Hey there Cheesecakes!

We had a fun lil Contest around “Pi Day” (3.14) to actually give away some REAL Pie to a lucky Addicts Reader.

The responses were fun to go through and a Winner was randomly selected. Congrats Semajmit/ Tim on Winning PIE!! (Cuz we all know cake is a lie!) He has just received his Pies 3/31 in fact (they make them fresh and ship them right after). Yum Yum.

Now because the contest involved shipping actual food, only Addicts inside the US that entered were able to qualify to win Pies. HOWEVER because we at the Addicts do like to spoil our Readers with “Stuff” and include everyone we possibly can, we also had a random Non-US resident selected to get an Addicts Prize of our choosing.

The Winner of the Random Prize for Non-US, Sasquatch71089. CONGRATS!!

Keep an eye on the site as you never know just when we will drop a Random Contest with some Random Prizes on our Addicts Readers.

Ultimate Pi Day (Contest Alert)

Have you checked out the date today?! Today just so happens to be 3-14 or in the world of Geeks, Pi Day. As 3.14 is the short short short version for the symbol Pi. (Click here for more info on Pi.) Not to mention one of the Geeks of ALL Geeks, Albert Einstein, just so happens to have his birthday fall on 3-14. Seriously! It is quite a celebrated day. The College Kids at Princeton REALLY get into it each year. Just check this out.

So just why are we sharing all of this with you? Because when we think of Pi Day…we think of PIE!! So in honor of all the geeky nerds, nerdy geeks, and all in between…WE ARE GIVING AWAY PIE. WOOHOO!! Mmmmmmmmm PIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEE!

Because “It’s a Wonderful Day for Pie”…

It’s A Girl!

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

So I’m sure some of you have been wondering just where I’ve been…or just how long Bunny’s put me on on bed rest for. Well..there’s been a good reason for my absence. The Tiny Addict has arrived!

Riley Margaret arrived on Thursday November 12th at 6:02pm! Weighing in at 8lbs 2oz and 20″ long. She’s for sure a keeper and we’re over the moon excited about her!

My apologies for no telling you guys sooner, or not having Bunny or Wookiee tell y’all. It’s been a whirlwind of a few days, including how she came into the world. Riley’s currently in the NICU being treated for some breathing issues and a couple of other labor related complications. The good news is she’s doing really, really well. The bad news is she still can’t quite come home. (hopefully this week)

So I’ll still be away for a few more days, while we spend the time visiting Riley at the hospital. But remember…I’m always watching 😉

Addicts Housekeeping Note: Comment Awaiting Moderation

Update: The Awaiting Moderation problem should be fixed now. Let me know if you continue to see problems. One thing I will say is I didn’t see a message if I wasn’t logged into a WordPress account. So if you’re not seeing the message it could be because you’re not logged in….

Hello There Clammers!

Just popping in with a quick post about something many of you are commenting on (and emailing us about)….the Comment Awaiting Moderation message that’s disappeared.

Typically when you comment on Family Guy Addicts you see a message that looks like this when you initially make a comment:

But since this past weekend, many of you have pointed out that the awaiting moderation message has disappeared…as has your comment. While we still see your comments on our end, you guys don’t realize they went through and often times will comment again (and again) or email us wondering if you’ve been banned for some reason.

Here’s the deal….this is a bug on WordPress’ end. It took a little while, but we’ve finally figured out (after working with WP) what’s happening and why it’s happening. So over the course of today I’m going to take the steps necessary to correct the problem. (unfortunately it’s not as simple as WP “flipping a switch”). So the site may look a little funky for a few minutes today…but all the content will still be there and by the time I’m done the “Awaiting Moderation” message will come back.

Sorry for the frustration and anger this may have caused some of you. I know we saw several emails from people wondering why they were banned from the site. I promise we haven’t banned anyone…it’s just a bug that we’ll now fix. 🙂

Family Guy Addicts Remember: September 11th Fourteen Years Later

First let me start this with a little disclaimer. I know this is a blog about The Quest For Stuff and I also know that this is a blog read by more than just Americans. However, all of the Addicts writers are from America and we feel as though it just wouldn’t be right to let today pass with out something. This post will remain our top post until after the moments of silence, and we will return to our regular TQFS posts shortly after. Thank you for your understanding and respect.

Today is September 11^th 2015, the 14^th anniversary of the attacks on America, where 2,977 innocent people were killed while just going about their everyday. Today Bunny and I would like to take a moment to honor all those innocent lives that were lost in New York City, Shanksville PA, and Washington DC.

We ask you, the readers of this blog, to take a moment today to reflect on that day and honor those who lost their lives.

Happy Labor Day!

Hello There Clammers!

Well here in the US today marks the unofficial end of Summer….Labor Day. Funny how here in America we don’t bother using calendars to mark the start and end of our summers…we know Memorial Day is the unofficial start and Labor Day is the unofficial end….sometimes I think we just like the excuse for a good Barbecue!

Of course Labor Day isn’t really about the end of summer…and it isn’t only celebrated in the US (our friends up in Canada are celebrating it today as well…). No, Labor Day (or Labour Day) is a celebration of the workers movement. It’s meant to honor those who contribute to the strength and prosperity of their country. (you can read more about it here)

Anywho most Americans will spend today soaking up what’s left of their summer and spend time with their families and friends down the shore (can you tell I’m from Jersey?!), at parades, picnics and watching fireworks! And since Bunny and I are all located in the US…you can throw us into that bunch! But don’t worry, we’ll still be popping in and out of the comments throughout the day to help you with all of your Peter Palooza quetions. Just keep in mind it might take us a little while to moderate through all the comments, so we thank you in advance for your patience!

Note: We’ve tried to take a little time this weekend to recharge and relax. (or in my case putting together baby furniture) So thank you for your patience and baring with us while we’re not around as much.

Today is America’s Birthday! And here at Family Guy Addicts we’re taking the day to spend time with our families and friends to celebrate the day America announced it’s Independence. So we won’t be around today, as we’re taking a much needed day to recover, relax and celebrate with our families! (which means your comments will not be moderated until tomorrow..July 5th)

Some Weekend Downtime

Hello There Clammers!

So after nearly a 2 month Star Trek Event….where every day was a grind….Bunny and I need a break.

So we’re officially taking this weekend off and you should too!

Starting tonight (Midnight EDT 5/9/15) until early Monday morning we won’t be around. So your comments won’t be moderated and anything new that hits the game (if they dare)…will not be covered until we get back Monday morning.

We just need a couple of days to recharge our batteries so we can gear up for what’s next. Hopefully you guys will understand and respect that. And we promise we’ll be back…fully charged and ready to go!

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend! It’s Springtime and the weather (at least on the east coast) is absolutely beautiful! Take some time and enjoy it! Personally, I’ll be spending the weekend at the Jersey Shore…because nothing’s better than beautiful weather and the beach!
