American Dad Phase 4 has hit our Tiny Quahogs! And it looks like Roger is joining the party!
As usual…MORE INFO COMING!! 😉
Update from Alissa:
WARNING….Roger is NOT timed. BUT you will have the option to get Klaus once you collect ALL the Smiths (including Roger). Getting Klaus IS Timed. So be careful! The challenge to get Klaus will trigger via Stan after you get the task to Get Stuff for Roger. DO NOT Click on Stan again until you’re ready to start the task for Klaus. You will only have 4 days to get Klaus (ie unlock Roger)…so again DO NOT TAP STAN after you get the trigger to get Roger.
Roger will have an item that is Epic to collect…(think eyeballs). So take your time to get Roger, just DO NOT tap Stan after that quest triggers…otherwise you’ll be on the clock for Klaus.
Looks like there’s a few things in store for us this go round…not just Roger. Details below the fold…
New Buildings:
Roger’s Place- 150 Clams. Earns $30, 20xp/ 8hrs. Always drops Box Wines
Sand Bar- 100 Clams. Earns $10, 5xp/ 4hrs. Always drops Pecan Sandies.
Budget Badass- 150 Clams. Earns $30, 20xp/4hrs. Always drops Wigs (This is a returning item from the 80’s Cleveland Update)
New Decorations:
American Dad Billboard- $10,000.
Psychotic Hot Tub- 50 Clams.
Tearjerker Island- 150 Clams
New Character:
Roger has finally arrived…for good! In order to get him, you will need to have completed the Phase 3 questline. Stan will start this new questline “The Alien Inside Me“. Part 1 is Stan’s task Hide Roger. Part 2 will unlock Roger’s Ship for Purchase and begin the collection of Roger’s items once it is built. BE WARNED…as soon as you hit Part 2, the next ! over Stan is the Klaus Challenge, so tap on at your own risk (See above WARNING).
You’ll find him in the S.S. Bonnie Raitt.
S.S. Bonnie Raitt- $2,000. Earns $50, 30xp/10hrs. 16hr Build.
To get Roger you’ll need to collect STUFF to unlock him. Here’s what you’ll need:
5 Pecan Sandies (Uncommon)- Earned By: Make Stan Keep America Safe OR Make Francine Show off Her Muffins OR Get from CIA Headquarters OR Get from Sand Bar
15 Wigs (Uncommon)- Earned By: Make Steve Play Make Believe OR Make Quagmire Look for Alien Life OR Get from Colonial Barn OR Get From Budget Badass
10 Box Wines (Rare)- Earned By: Make Bonnie Give a tour of Clam Festival OR Make Bruce Make Bathtub Gin OR Get From S.S. Bonnie Raitt OR Get from Roger’s Place
3 Feather Boas (Epic)- Earned By: Clear CIA Agents OR Make Peter Attract New Clients OR Make Hayley Pose Nude for Art Class OR Get from Clam Festival Stage.
For those curious it’s 725 Clams to unlock Roger instantly.
Getting Klaus
As mentioned above…you can earn Klaus if you unlock all of the Smiths! Remember…Klaus IS Timed. Once the task triggers you’ll only have 4 days to unlock Roger and get Klaus. So…if you want to avoid the clock starting, DO NOT Click on Stan after the task to get stuff for Roger Triggers.
Klaus is only a decoration. When tapped he will jump out of the bowl, and back in. He also is voiced.
Housekeeping Note:
The White Picket Fences have been increased in price. They’ve gone from $250 to $750 each. We’ve put in a request with TinyCo on this, to see what happened…but for now that’s the new price for it.

Don’t think I am ever going to unlock Francine it’s impossible with only two taciturn muffins because I refuse to buy the muffin stand i used all of my clams on the mystery box and now I have roger with an epic item lord help me

Damn! I was happy they finally added Roger, but I didn’t think the ! on Stan would start another timed task. I just thought it would be a regular task or to start collecting for Roger. Damn! Should have come to this page first. I won’t make the same mistake again. Damn!

The thing is we really shouldn’t have to come to this page or anywhere besides in game itself to know what is going on and how to avoid starting a timed event.

Most games have hidden surprises. It has always been that way. Just think how the poor 80’s kids got by without internet, help areas, “Cheat Sheets”, etc…not to mention NO options to save the game progress. Lol.
I personally like this style of game. It is not for everyone, especially those that DON’T like surprises or challenges…but that is OK. Everyone has their own taste in gaming. This is just another style. 🙂 You don’t have to like it.

Bunny, your characterization of 80’s games as needing strategy guides and help from outside the game is a little myopic. True there were places you needed to use a little brain matter to get past an obstacle, but those game were mostly non-visual to begin with (your Zorks and Sierra quest games) and you needed a little imagination to begin with. Your major games from that era was analogous to video arcade games where the quarters ruled landscape and the more they could get you to insert the better. So while there were shortcuts and tricks to those game they were discovered through game play and were quite easily passed on with word of mouth. Here is another surprise. Every game sold had a phone number to Nintendo and Atari to a customer help line which gave out instructions on how to defeat bosses or even to get to the negative world in Super Mario Bros.. So the “savage days” of gaming didn’t really exist. This is coming from a 70’s era gamer when Pong was king and ASCII was the palate used to create worlds (had to love the ampersand character icon)

2 questions, 1 when does the whole event end (the update) and 2 if I don’t click Stan and I unlock roger after I get him then click him do I get Claus automatically or????

Event last we saw on pop ups…Dec 4th. So that is the data we have as of now. As far as Klaus, Stan will have to eventually trigger him, it is just a matter of when YOU do it.

so hmm we really do not have 4 days to unlock roger and get klaus, we have like 3 days and 8 hours since the effin construction of s.s. Bonnie taskes 16 hrs!!! and who wants to use clams to speed that up
I mean it’s one thing like with Diane Simmons grave, not clicking on the unlock button above her head, but Stan is walking around the damn town with an exclamation over his head and you can’t use the character Finder either cuz Stan is dominating with his exclamation point! and we need to use him for tasks to unlock roger as well…-.-

Just wait and see how fast you get Boas. It may be fast and so you won’t have to worry about Stan. It’s all up to how YOU want to play the game. We just try to be the voice of reason and info for yah in case you need it. 🙂

They should trigger it with the building of the space ship to get everyone the same chance; well it’s still not fair by how much time and money is spend for the game, which is the players choice.
I appreciate your work and finding such loopholes, which is totally awesome to share. But that can’t be TinyCo’s intention by creating such timed challenges. So you are awesome and criticism goes to TinyCo

For now, I am reserving judgement to first see just how hard it is to get the Boa’s. If simplistic…no worries on rushing.

I’ll probably buy the box of coins deal and get the free clams to buy the new items and help with Roger. Can you pay to unlock the epic items, and if so, does anyone know how much they cost? I would love to also get Klaus, I didn’t see this post in time. I should be able to easily do the rest, but I feel that the boas would ruin it. If I don’t get them and they are affordable I would probably just get them to get Klaus.

The game is really cool in that it will tell you how to get items and how much. Once you build his ship, Roger will have the bubbles above his head. Tap on the one for Boas, it will say where to get them or a straight out Clam buy cost per each one. Just check though…sometimes speeding up buildings dropping same item are a bit cheaper. It all is how the drops go.

Do you happen to have an exact figure for the boas? I will have some left over and I would be willing to use clams to get some. I want to speed up the ship construction but I’m worried that I would use too many clams and fail to get Klaus in time so I want to wait and so I can’t see his prices.

As I already sped mine up to get all this data and the rest of questline, no. I will have to wait til my FREEMIUM played game catches to that point at the 16hr mark.

OMG I’m so confused. I finished part 1 of “The Alien Inside Me” which is hide Roger. After that I had the option to build the spaceship for 16 hrs. But I didn’t get an option to find stuff for Roger yet. Does that come after the spaceship is done do I click on Stan one more time.

Tap on your task menu on the side. If you are placing the ship, the second half will be collection. You should be on Part 2…so STOP. Stan’s ! now will trigger Klaus.

Under my task menu I have nothing for Stan OR Roger. I just built the ship because it was unlocked but I did not get a task to build it yet. All I did was part one – hide Roger. Nothing else. I don’t have a part 2 yet. Click again?

You can click again after the hide roger task. Or you can just start unlocking roger, since you built it. Up to you. Just don’t click stan again AFTER you get the task to get stuff for roger.

It is all up to you if you want Klaus. Pecan Sandies are common so easier in theory to get. If you get the Boa’s quickly along with other items, that it shouldnt be too hard.

When I click on Roger dialogue to open it takes me to the store and Roger is still locked. Do I need to have Francine before he becomes available? I have all the other Smiths done

No. You need to complete Part 1 and 2 of the Alien Inside Me. Part 2 will unlock the ship for purchase. Then Stan will get the ! to trigger Klaus Challenge.

I don’t get it, so if we don’t click on stan then how r we suppose to start for.the roger? So r u trying to say is just build the space ship but don’t click on stan. Will we be able to collect stuff for roger if we don’t click on him?

Don’t click on Stan again after you get the task that says to get stuff for roger (and build the ship). At that point…don’t click stan again.

That may not be correct… I finished the Part 1 “hide Roger” task, but did NOT click on Stan for Part 2, yet was still able to buy the ship (currently building).

Honestly Klaus being an animated decoration means that I really don’t care if I get it (either the fishbowl is reasonably scaled & will be hard to spot in town or it’ll be way too large and thus will collect dust in my inventory next to the giant turkey and the really small turkey from the mystery box) …thanks for giving us the details about what tasks unlock Roger so I can preset them to get done just slightly after the ship is done construction

I get your point, but how many games…ANY games have you played? MANY games…console, online, PC, app, etc…ALL have a surprise element or some kind of a challenge. It is the kind of game this is. It may not fit all players liking as it is more difficult. I personally love games with a challenge. Too easy would bore me to death.

Do you know if the Klaus decoration has any audio? I still have Francine to unlock (those muffins, ugh), as well as all of Roger’s crap. If just a decoration AND no audio, I may pass on Klaus & not stress it.

Well, this morning saw me get the three boas in rapid succession – two from CIA agents, and one from the stage. I’ve had one each of the Pecan Sandie and the Box Wine, and I’m still looking for two muffins for Francine.
On the other hand, I’ve got enough carefully hoarded clams for me to be able to rush both Francine and Roger if required….

Klaus is NOT a smith. He just lives with them. No one ever said anyone outside the Smiths. 😉 You still have time to get them.

Since that is the end of the event, I highly suggest starting it before then. Waiting on confirmation, but you may need to have him in the game before the event ends.

There is a quest for capturing Roger “one more time” when that is done, you should see the ship available for purchase. My wife hadn’t finish the main quest line for Stan, and she was still able to start that quest for Roger.

A bit of a rotten trick on TinyCos behalf, especially considering its only 4days! (Why not till the end of the event, atleast people have a chance) + the ship takes 16hours…
Just waiting for the update to know what tasks to put people on for items so atleast I can collect some as soon as the ship is ready.
TinyCo should have given a warning imo. Ah well, they probably sneakly want you to pay clams to unlock roger in time for Klaus 😛

I had learned my lesson with this stuff but I already tapped Stan. I didn’t expect that easy of a trigger. No biggie as I don’t really care for any of this American Dad stuff in the game anyway.
If there is a an epic eyeball style item to get on a timed thing like this then that’s ridiculous. How is anyone going to sit on Stan’s ! over his head for very long. I’m guessing that Stan will be one of the major ‘getters’ for the items so he’s going to need to be active.

Do you have any idea when the update will be available for kindle? It’s been asking for an update and won’t let me play for about five days now. I have tried removing the app and re-downloading it to the kindle from Amazon, but that hasn’t helped either. Any help would be awesome!

I am not sure why you are not getting them. Per TinyCo…all this should be in there regardless as they are mainly pushed updates on not in market. All I can suggest is really the basic troubleshooting (even as far as delete and reinstall app as long as your account is linked to email or facebook through the game). Outside that, it is just a matter of letting them know you still don’t have it.

D*** IT!!! The Klaus timer has started, I sent Stan on a 1 hr. task not knowing it would start the countdown!! CRAP!!! Maybe by some miracle I can get most of Roger’s stuff before time is up for Klaus. FUDGE!!!

Finally! Although I’m always so bad at this….. I clicked Stan and got the quest for Klaus just after I started building Roger’s spaceship and now I have 3 days and 23 hours to finish his spaceship and collect his items + the rest of Francine’s items to get Klaus. BE AWARE PEOPLE! 🙂

I just got the game notice from TinyCo saying he’s out, but when I went to Roger to get him, he was still locked. WTH?!
PS – Darn you TinyCo for making Psychotic Hot Tub 50 Clams! I really wanted it, because it of the possibility of having C’Lo Green dialogue when you tap it.

There’s a quest to unlock klaus if you have every member of the smiths I accidentally triggered it. It gives you 4 days to get the rest of the smiths you need and Rogers build is 16 hrs. So hopefully roger will be easy to unlock.

I am hoping Roger is an easy get as TC has effectively used up a majority of my first day to get Klaus just building Roger’s ship. I have messaged them asking for them to at least give me the full 4 days on the clock once Roger is ingame to start collecting to get stuff to unlock him (which seems fair to me).

The balance between pay and free stuff is so far out of whack this event. It’s become pretty hard to enjoy the crossover when practically everything requires clams. Again, the regular in-game currency is nearly worthless. I’m close to 1mil now and there’s little left to buy. I get that TinyCo has to make their money, but c’mon. Don’t forget the freemium players.

It says we have 4 days to get all the American Dad characters to unlock Klaus. Does this mean we just have to have them placed or we have to earn all of their items as well and have them useable? I’m not getting any muffins to drop to unlock Francine and it’s been a while week so far. None! It’s like my game has their difficulty level as epic. I can’t get clams to buy the muffin stand. If we have to fully unlock the characters I don’t see it as possible at all for me in 4 days. Especially since now we also have all of Rogers stuff to collect in 4 days.
