American Dad Phase 4 has hit our Tiny Quahogs! And it looks like Roger is joining the party!
As usual…MORE INFO COMING!! 😉
Update from Alissa:
WARNING….Roger is NOT timed. BUT you will have the option to get Klaus once you collect ALL the Smiths (including Roger). Getting Klaus IS Timed. So be careful! The challenge to get Klaus will trigger via Stan after you get the task to Get Stuff for Roger. DO NOT Click on Stan again until you’re ready to start the task for Klaus. You will only have 4 days to get Klaus (ie unlock Roger)…so again DO NOT TAP STAN after you get the trigger to get Roger.
Roger will have an item that is Epic to collect…(think eyeballs). So take your time to get Roger, just DO NOT tap Stan after that quest triggers…otherwise you’ll be on the clock for Klaus.
Looks like there’s a few things in store for us this go round…not just Roger. Details below the fold…
New Buildings:
Roger’s Place- 150 Clams. Earns $30, 20xp/ 8hrs. Always drops Box Wines
Sand Bar- 100 Clams. Earns $10, 5xp/ 4hrs. Always drops Pecan Sandies.
Budget Badass- 150 Clams. Earns $30, 20xp/4hrs. Always drops Wigs (This is a returning item from the 80’s Cleveland Update)
New Decorations:
American Dad Billboard- $10,000.
Psychotic Hot Tub- 50 Clams.
Tearjerker Island- 150 Clams
New Character:
Roger has finally arrived…for good! In order to get him, you will need to have completed the Phase 3 questline. Stan will start this new questline “The Alien Inside Me“. Part 1 is Stan’s task Hide Roger. Part 2 will unlock Roger’s Ship for Purchase and begin the collection of Roger’s items once it is built. BE WARNED…as soon as you hit Part 2, the next ! over Stan is the Klaus Challenge, so tap on at your own risk (See above WARNING).
You’ll find him in the S.S. Bonnie Raitt.
S.S. Bonnie Raitt- $2,000. Earns $50, 30xp/10hrs. 16hr Build.
To get Roger you’ll need to collect STUFF to unlock him. Here’s what you’ll need:
5 Pecan Sandies (Uncommon)- Earned By: Make Stan Keep America Safe OR Make Francine Show off Her Muffins OR Get from CIA Headquarters OR Get from Sand Bar
15 Wigs (Uncommon)- Earned By: Make Steve Play Make Believe OR Make Quagmire Look for Alien Life OR Get from Colonial Barn OR Get From Budget Badass
10 Box Wines (Rare)- Earned By: Make Bonnie Give a tour of Clam Festival OR Make Bruce Make Bathtub Gin OR Get From S.S. Bonnie Raitt OR Get from Roger’s Place
3 Feather Boas (Epic)- Earned By: Clear CIA Agents OR Make Peter Attract New Clients OR Make Hayley Pose Nude for Art Class OR Get from Clam Festival Stage.
For those curious it’s 725 Clams to unlock Roger instantly.
Getting Klaus
As mentioned above…you can earn Klaus if you unlock all of the Smiths! Remember…Klaus IS Timed. Once the task triggers you’ll only have 4 days to unlock Roger and get Klaus. So…if you want to avoid the clock starting, DO NOT Click on Stan after the task to get stuff for Roger Triggers.
Klaus is only a decoration. When tapped he will jump out of the bowl, and back in. He also is voiced.
Housekeeping Note:
The White Picket Fences have been increased in price. They’ve gone from $250 to $750 each. We’ve put in a request with TinyCo on this, to see what happened…but for now that’s the new price for it.

For what it’s worth, I just accidentally clicked on Stan and managed to get out of it.
His exclamation point was hidden behind a coin icon that I meant to click. The *instant* the dialogue screen came up, I force quit the app. Fortunately, when I reopened it, the game had not registered my click.

This has been my favorite event by far! I love American dad and i am trilled that i now can have them in my game. I would love to see another american dad even where more of the characters from that show will be added to the game.

I also accidentally clicked on Stan. Will the klaus challenge stay past December fourth for those who haven’t clicked yet? Also is the sand bar a returning item or just a new premium building? Thanks. On another note I’ve collected about 40 free clams by now from Carl

Ok, if the fish isn’t a Charakter then I’m ok with not getting Roger as fast. But I do have to say that I did not see a warning for the peter costume. I would’ve had to use 20 clams to unlock him in the end, but I couldn’t figure out if it was timed, so I collected all that crap for nothing. That was annoying.

Unrelated.. But with these new characters coming soon.. I was thinking about what character i would love to have in my pocket town. So i came up with: James Woods, because i love the episodes he is in.. Then the giant chicken ofcourse.. Well.. He started it all lol xd after that maybe god? I think he would be kinda nice to have haha.. What about you? Who would the addicts love to see added to this game??? :D. 🙂

No panic. No worries.
By the time Bunny and Alissa provided the information here, I had already started the timer. However, I’m confident I’ll obtain Klaus without spending clams. Although I’m a whale of paying users, I haven’t used any clams to get the American Dad characters. Klaus will be no different.
The non-premium buildings from Comic Con helped to finish early, but they were not needed as long as I played diligently to acquire everyone so far. This will be no different. This challenge is hard. It is only impossible for those who give up before trying.

I usually see your posts & warnings before I reach a timed event, but I missed it this time. For the future, is your twitter feed the best way to receive prompt notifications? Or is the quickest to sign up for WordPress notifications? I would prefer Text/SMS over email. Thanks for the info!

I think they’re both about the same speed. Just remember we usually post an update is live and then update as we go through it ourselves. So check back on posts for new updates frequently.

started it before realizing it was timed, had left the cia alone so had tons but no drops and all the actions are slow bringing in items, I’ll eventually get Roger but Klaus would take a miracle. glad to see he’s just deco and doesn’t even count towards winning the clams for the complete set because it looks like he’s going to go unwon here. not too upset, I’m playing Family Guy not American Dad. still lame though they talk about this line being untimed then the finale is timed. makes me want to punish them by not buying clams.

Same thing for me, had a town full of CIA agents but not one dropped an item for Roger? Plus, I still have a few items left to get for Francine….I don’t think Klaus is going to be joining the Smith family, but since he’s a decoration, I’m not too bummed.

I came here and read the warning to not tap Stan, but I decided to start the timer anyway because I needed Stan for a task. I don’t really mind because Klaus is just a decoration and I don’t even have Francine yet (those stupid muffins lol).
I was just wondering, is it safe to store main characters now? Can you confirm if the bug has been completely fixed?

As far as we know. I would only suggest to keep the main ones out. Peter, Lois, Bonnie, etc.

Another thing to watch for if going for Klaus, Hayley’s “Epic” task needs her at level 7, my Hayley just reached level 6. I guess I’ll be sending her on a 1 hour task regularly and hopefully get to level 7 so Hayley can take part before the timer runs out.

I don’t mind the timed tasks if they’re done in good faith. But making them in such a way that you have to go read online before I tap each exclamation mark is just a cheap shot at a money grab by Tiny Co. At least during the Halloween event they had the warning to unlock ghostbusters Peter before repairing the grave. (My buddy repaired the grave before they added the warning and he wasn’t thrilled)
As others have mentioned, at least Klaus is just a decoration only so I’m less annoyed, but it’s still a silly way to do things. Timed events should be about diligence in playing the game, not starting tasks in a very specific order. Just IMO of course 🙂

*sigh* Why does TinyCo keep doing that – starting timed tasks when it is impossible to do.
It is great there is warning out here, but I don’t always run to my computer to check out this site before playing, and *poof*, just like that I’m screwed – started the task…. which I can’t even start for 16 hours because I can’t even start to collect Roger’s stuff until his ship is built (and the 16 hour time point will be while I’m sleeping, so almost 1 full day wasted that I can’t do anything with Roger, making it almost impossible for me to complete them all.
I thought I might luck out since I haven’t been clearing the CIA agents, so once I could start on Roger’s stuff, I might get some Boa’s (As others here said they had GREAT luck), well NOPE – TinyCo must of patched that because I got none.
I enjoy the game – I enjoy the challenge – I also understand why some things cost clams (so the company can make money), but it’s stupid things like this that makes users (myself) feel cheated is how companies end up losing their users.

If you do happen to accidentally hit the ! Above Stan when the dialog page opens with roger, just hard close and re open. That will re set without starting the quest. At least it worked for me. Whew! It’s really hard not to tap that! !

Yes! The same thing happened to me but I did not click though the dialogue and did a hard close instead. That saved me from activating the timed quest. Perhaps the Addicts ladies can update the post to let others know this can work if they accidentally tap on the ! by mistake.

Anyone else reporting a dearth of CIA agents? I haven’t seen any in 5 hours and am fairly certain no new ones spawned overnight either.

Haven’t played one of the games for a full 24hrs and just popped in. After a few mins of play…poooof…puffs of smoke and MAX CIA running round.

I don’t know when I’m going to lean to check this site before playing. I triggered my timer and didn’t realize it then promptly fell asleep…without setting half my characters tasks. I’ve miss hours already. Not to mention I haven’t focused on Francine since she wasn’t timed and only have one or two muffins
Thankfully, Klus isn’t playable so I won’t really miss him.

I find it messed up that on a timed event, an epic item is required. On top of that, one of the actions for this epic item is for a new character that requires Hayley to be @ level 7. That alone eats up the majority of the clock after the spaceship build. Thank goodness Klaus is merely a decoration.

Here is what I’m doing. Since I tapped on Stan to trigger Klaus before building his ship I know I’m boned. However since the avg. Task is 4 to 10 hrs to complete for the drops, I started everyone available on the drop tasks since my ship only has 3 hrs. Left. Hopefully I get some drops asap then. If anyone wants to try this it should help.

Quick question: Stan has the ! for the timed Klaus quest. But if I select him through the locked characters, like I click on the bubble of items still needed and select a Stan task that way, will it open the ! quest, or send him on that task? Not sure if I worded that right…

Of course I clicked before I checked here. I am really sick of the timed stuff. It isn’t like they don’t have tons of other crap that is premium. Argh. Oh well. After spending $100 or so on this game I think I am just going to be a Free player going forward. Very frustrated.

I woke up this morning and to my surprise i already have all the “epic” items required for Roger. The agents actually dropped them gor me. I was excited yesterday to find out we were able to get Klaus. Then i read your article and got disappointed that he was just a decoration 😞. I think they did pretty good with this American Dad event. Other then Klaus, very satisfied.

I am set…ship will be done in about 2 hours. Everyone that drops items for Roger have been tasked out and will be done less than an hour after the ship is built. I haven’t touched my CIA men so I have a few running around chasing the turkeys I haven’t touched. Not touching the clam building or CIA HQ. Now I MUST…RESIST…URGE…TO…TAP…STAN. And he follows my finger everywhere taunting me to accidentally tap him. Grrrrrr

Usually its pretty easy to guess or know how much clams it will take you to speed up a process. Like “epic” items will cost you 125 clams. Or a four hour task will cost 8 clams to bypass. Just pay attention to times are cost of clams and you will start seeing the pattern

Its a shame that Klaus is a timed challenge that can be triggered without having Rogers spaceship. I got an “STD::ALOC” Error and I have no hope of getting him now. The game froze after triggering Stans mission, just before the Klaus one. It must have triggered both of Stans missions. On a Samsung S5 I would not think I would have memory issues (as the error implies)

It all depends on how the device translates and adapts to the game. Usually it is brand new devices that are not quite used to it or older one that run into the issues. I get it off n on on my device.

Thank you again for the warning about a timed challenge! I still have 4 muffins to go to get Francine, and 2 more Pecan Pies for Fat Lois, so I really don’t want another timed challenge on top of that after how long it took me to get the “epic” eyeballs…
Up to 180 clams so I *could* get a premium item to help, but I like to use my clams for characters (I’ve gotten the “characters you buy” set and Nathan Fillion from comic-con) and I’m sure at least some of the greyed out ones (Death, Jillian, etc) are going to be premium.

I went from having the worst luck by triggering the Klaus timer to having a big dose of good luck. Just from the CIA agents, I already got all 3 feather boas!! The epic drop rate was more common for me. Yay! Hopefully others will have the luck I did. Santa Klaus is coming to town! LOL

Not to be that guy, but I feel like I hit the lottery this morning. SS Bonnie Raitt was finished building, and I’d preemptively sent people out on tasks. Caught two boas from Hayley and the Clam Stage. Imagine my surprise when a CIA Agent dropped one, too. As awesome as this is, I’d rather have won the actual lottery.

Don’t know if anyone has brought this up, but I think it’s wron to start klaus’s timer with the build of Rogers ship. For us players who can’t play with clams, that’s almost a quarter of klaus’s timer waiting on Rogers ship to finish. I don’t mind that klaus is timed but they really should have waited until Rogers ship completed. Fail in my opinion

This post tells you everyones task that drops stuff so why dont you set up to where you can collect from them as soon as the ship is built and save up your cia agents.

I had a bunch of agents walking about when roger popped up so that cleared the boa task plus I had 6 budget badass in inventory and have just cleared the wigs,I was worried I wouldn’t get roger but at this rate I’ll get klaus too!!!

Since I haven’t clicked on Stan, and the muffins have been dropping constantly for me in the past day (only need one!!!), I thought I’d give you girls a break and (half) gripe about something completely different. 😉
*ahem* Dang, can only buy a couple of hundred picket fences now, as don’t want to drop below a million, knew I should of stocked up the other day lol. Tbh I think they should be permanent, the shrubs from halloween too, they were cool. 🙂

I sent a message to tiny telling them they should add another day to the timer if there is going to be a 16 hour build involved. Also suggested any timed unlocks in the future should be an instant build.

I’m going on how holiday early on Monday, and staying in a hotel Sunday night and I have a block clearing that finishes at 10am Sunday (tomorrow) ahhh. At least when I get to my hotel on holiday it’ll be done but so confused :S can someone explain the Roger/Klaus thing for me? Thanks 🙂

It’s pretty frustrating that although the 4 day timer starts, you have to wait 16 hours for the spaceship to build. In essence you get 3 days to collect the stuff.

Thanks for the info! I triggered the timed challenge without realizing it. I didn’t even know it was timed until I logged in just now, 10 hours later. But I just sent my characters on the item collection tasks so I can collect from them after Roger’s spaceship is built. I’ve done okay with timed events so far, so I’m trying not to worry, but we’ll see…

So, I am building Rogers ship, and I have an exclamation over Stan.
I shouldn’t click him then?
However my question is, you say that the timed tasks starts when you unlock all the characters, but I am still collecting (or not as the case may be) muffins for her. I take it the unlocked bit means she’s in my game, not necessarily available to use?
Now another question, I can’t click on Stan or his icon (correct?), but can I send him on a task via Rogers ‘required to unlock’ list? Or does that start the task as well?
It would have been easier to avoid if it was a building or something to start the quest, but let’s not trick ourselves in this, Tiny Co want us to start it by accident so we are more likely to be unable to get him and spend clams.

It was not set up as a “trick” as you point out. Through regular play you should have all of the Smiths by now minus Roger. His items so far seem to be dropping at a steady rate for me. The game is meant to be challenging. To see if you can beat it or not. How YOU play is your choice.
Stan’s ! will start Klaus on the Challenge. I do not know if triggering from collections will happen or not. I do not have a test game to see if that theory works or not as I already started the timer in them.

TinyCo needs to quit this BS with timed unlockable characters. I already started the timer wasting 16 hours building Rogers ship before knowing it was a timed event. I was smart to not tap any Agents for a few days, so I might get an Epic. There’s no way a majority of people will get Klaus.
Also its crap that Roger has Epics in general. With Epics involved he should have been released at the beginning of the event.
PS- TinyCo should show red exclamation marks/build icons to warn players the action will start timed events.

I actually like the icon to show if it starts a timed challenge idea. Will ingame message it myself. Im not going to flip out about this timed challenge because I have completed all of them but yes I am a tad freaked that about any challenge that has epic items or a new character needing to be level 7

Well, on the plus side I’m almost done with Fat Lois so I can concentrate on finishing Francine (freaking muffins…) and Roger as well once he finishes building his spaceship… And I am glad to see Klaus isn’t just a little 1×1 deco that has no animations (*cough* Trip *cough*). But while he’s one of my favorite characters, I don’t think I’ll go insane if I miss him.
