American Dad Phase 4 has hit our Tiny Quahogs! And it looks like Roger is joining the party!
As usual…MORE INFO COMING!! 😉
Update from Alissa:
WARNING….Roger is NOT timed. BUT you will have the option to get Klaus once you collect ALL the Smiths (including Roger). Getting Klaus IS Timed. So be careful! The challenge to get Klaus will trigger via Stan after you get the task to Get Stuff for Roger. DO NOT Click on Stan again until you’re ready to start the task for Klaus. You will only have 4 days to get Klaus (ie unlock Roger)…so again DO NOT TAP STAN after you get the trigger to get Roger.
Roger will have an item that is Epic to collect…(think eyeballs). So take your time to get Roger, just DO NOT tap Stan after that quest triggers…otherwise you’ll be on the clock for Klaus.
Looks like there’s a few things in store for us this go round…not just Roger. Details below the fold…
New Buildings:
Roger’s Place- 150 Clams. Earns $30, 20xp/ 8hrs. Always drops Box Wines
Sand Bar- 100 Clams. Earns $10, 5xp/ 4hrs. Always drops Pecan Sandies.
Budget Badass- 150 Clams. Earns $30, 20xp/4hrs. Always drops Wigs (This is a returning item from the 80’s Cleveland Update)
New Decorations:
American Dad Billboard- $10,000.
Psychotic Hot Tub- 50 Clams.
Tearjerker Island- 150 Clams
New Character:
Roger has finally arrived…for good! In order to get him, you will need to have completed the Phase 3 questline. Stan will start this new questline “The Alien Inside Me“. Part 1 is Stan’s task Hide Roger. Part 2 will unlock Roger’s Ship for Purchase and begin the collection of Roger’s items once it is built. BE WARNED…as soon as you hit Part 2, the next ! over Stan is the Klaus Challenge, so tap on at your own risk (See above WARNING).
You’ll find him in the S.S. Bonnie Raitt.
S.S. Bonnie Raitt- $2,000. Earns $50, 30xp/10hrs. 16hr Build.
To get Roger you’ll need to collect STUFF to unlock him. Here’s what you’ll need:
5 Pecan Sandies (Uncommon)- Earned By: Make Stan Keep America Safe OR Make Francine Show off Her Muffins OR Get from CIA Headquarters OR Get from Sand Bar
15 Wigs (Uncommon)- Earned By: Make Steve Play Make Believe OR Make Quagmire Look for Alien Life OR Get from Colonial Barn OR Get From Budget Badass
10 Box Wines (Rare)- Earned By: Make Bonnie Give a tour of Clam Festival OR Make Bruce Make Bathtub Gin OR Get From S.S. Bonnie Raitt OR Get from Roger’s Place
3 Feather Boas (Epic)- Earned By: Clear CIA Agents OR Make Peter Attract New Clients OR Make Hayley Pose Nude for Art Class OR Get from Clam Festival Stage.
For those curious it’s 725 Clams to unlock Roger instantly.
Getting Klaus
As mentioned above…you can earn Klaus if you unlock all of the Smiths! Remember…Klaus IS Timed. Once the task triggers you’ll only have 4 days to unlock Roger and get Klaus. So…if you want to avoid the clock starting, DO NOT Click on Stan after the task to get stuff for Roger Triggers.
Klaus is only a decoration. When tapped he will jump out of the bowl, and back in. He also is voiced.
Housekeeping Note:
The White Picket Fences have been increased in price. They’ve gone from $250 to $750 each. We’ve put in a request with TinyCo on this, to see what happened…but for now that’s the new price for it.

I just finished unlocking Roger with 2 days 21 hours left and unlocked Klaus but he is Not voiced. Is he supposed to be voiced as in your description above?

Awesome I have every member of the smith family. Now I was wondering on how to get Jillian, Barbara Pewterschmidt and Death how do you get them or do they just become available. Cause in the game when you tap on the characters bar it says they will be available soon. I’m just curious how soon.

Well, I goofed by starting Klaus, but I long ago realised that, as a working man that needs sleep, many of the timed challenges were going to pass me by, and now I try but shrug and move on when I fail! But as an aside, did anyone else notice that the Smith Mobile is right-hand drive? Seems strange for an American Dad 😛

I’m confused is is it Klaus that’s a four day challenge cause I stared it and I’m trying to get things for Rodger. So is Rodger gone to if I don’t get Klaus or just Klaus?

They are two completely separate things. Klaus is just a challenge to get. You only have til his timer ends to get him. Roger is a character you need to earn items to get into your game.

I too am in a rush for my hubbie, we just placed all the smith family. Apparently I have to finish phase 3 to start the alien inside me quest part 1 to start roger? Does anyone have a fast walk thur so I know which quests to rush to get roger placed! Any help appreciated!!!

Just got the last boa, so I’m a little relieved now that getting Klaus is possible. I still need 3 Pecans, 1 Wig and 8 Wines to get Roger.
Francine is still locked because the game refuses to drop 1 last Muffin with Lois. I took Bonnie off the task to work on Roger.
One big mistake I made with Hayley was thinking putting her on a 24 hour task to speed her up to Level 7. Doing that barely made a dent. It looks like she’s going to be useless to help unlock Roger before the time limit to get Klaus is up.
TinyCo needs to really think things through better with tasks assigned to the a level, that is needed to unlock something with a time limit.

anyways, I haven’t hit stans exclamation mark yet and I’ve been sending characters on tasks the old fashioned way (without the character locator) and doing everything I can to avoid Stan. just got my second boa via cia agent.

Don’t put stand with a “!” Over his head in the CIA and Qugmire because you can’t take either out without activating klaus. Ugh silly goof I made.

Has it been announced whether or not Klaus leaves on Dec. 4 if he is not unlocked? I know Roger is not timed and can be unlocked whenever once you build his ship, but it’s not clear for Klaus. If Klaus does leave on Dec. 4, then might as well click on Stan tomorrow so he can start earning those Pecan Sandies.

Suprisingly I got the epic items in one day one from an agent,one from hooker peter and one from the clam stage. I’m finding getting the pecan sandies hard to get as I can only get them from CIA building as I’ve not unlocked francine,yet, but I am close only need 3 mores cakes.

I don’t know if someone already suggested this – I’m not going to read 300+ comments to find out – but for those of you that are afraid that you’ll accidentally tap Stan before you’re ready, you can exit the game before you finish the dialog and close the running app. When it reloads the next time you open it, it’ll start back before you tapped him. Disclaimer: I’ve only tried this on iOS 8.

Unlock as in their image is complete and no longer a shadow in the characters list. They are a full functioning character in the game you are able to send tasks on.

So I finally slipped and started the timer. Thanks to this site I haven’t been clicking Stan. But I accidentally sent him on his task collecting for Rodger then clicked on cia building. At least I have a full four days and he’s only a decoration. I’m actually sort of glad I was getting sick of having to be careful where I tapped.

When I first saw what the challenge was, and that we needed epic items for Roger, I thought it was gonna take a long time to get them which I was okay with because I’ve held off starting the challenge. But I got all 3 Feather Boas pretty quickly, one from Peter, one from Hayley, and one from a CIA agent, now all I need is 1 Box of Wine and 2 Wigs and I’ll have Roger unlocked, so hopefully I’ll get him later on today and will get Klaus at the same time.

Well, this Klaus this is a fiasco.
You need Hayley to be level 7, and mine is only just barely level 4 when the timer started. cia agents and stipper peter are the only way to get the feather boas and i dont have a single one with only 2 days 11 hours left. only have 2 wine boxes as well.
I always knew that someday, I’d slowly start to find better uses for my free moments and play the game less and less. Just didn’t know it would happen so soon. When it became crystal clear that unlocking klaus was impossible, the realization that my hard won streak of collecting all of the fremium items would be broken, I just kinda stopped caring so much. I only checked my game around 3 times today, instead of the obsessive 10 or 15 that is usual.
I can say for certain that my clam purchases are at an end. i am a free leech, using their bandwitdh and laughing at the jokes for free.
Why tinyco? We had such a good thing going?
oh well, it was a good run.

I hear ya man. These timed events with these poorly thought out drop rates make me less inclined to spend time on this game.

Don’t be worried if you started the timed portion early. As of this writing I still have about 48 hours left on it and I have already gotten the pecan sandies, I only need 3 more wigs and you know at 4 hour tasks for 3 characters I should have those soon. Only need 3 more wine with about 14 or so attempts and 1 boa with about 30-35 attempts before time runs out. So just hang in there.
I got lucky as I put 5 or 6 of my characters on quests and when the space ship was built the necessary quests were already being done (got lucky) so I got a good start.

Thanks for the early warning on the timer for Stan. I check the site frequently, but even more often when a new phase of an event is getting ready to start.
Drops for Roger have been good. I finished the ship at 3pm on 11/29. I had 6 CIA agents ready and had characters working on tasks for drops (thanks to your site for that info) that finished just after the spaceship finished. I currently have 4 sandies, 5 wigs, 3 wine, and 2 boas (0 from CIA agents).

Tough luck… I saved a town full of agents assuming we needed them for roger.. And we do! Tapped them all and no boa, now the spawnrate is 2 agents per day instead of 1 /3h in my game.
Hoped to get haley to level 7 today so she can help out as well.
Overall this event has been pretty nice, enjoyed it and got everything I wanted, roger will be mine too eventually!

I’m quite relaxed about the epic items, having two days left to get just one more. However, the ‘box wines’ drops are rarer than being hit on the head by Dodo poo. Three in almost three days is a very poor rate.

The one thing I am grateful for is at least the epics are short time tasks. That way even if I don’t accomplished getting Klaus, I cannot say I didn’t have many opportunities for the Boas to drop. (Peter, and Hayley are both 4 hour tasks, the Stage is a 4 hour collect timer and the CIA agents at last check are 1.5 hours per appearance, so there are at least 5 chances every 4 hours for a boa to drop).

The post says that Roger is not timed. Does that mean that I have unlimited time to unlock him or will the disappear on 4th Dec? I’m kinda worried about the feather boa drop rate. It took me about one month to get the eyeballs for anime Peter, not sure if I can unlock Roger until the end of this event. Yes, I am aware that some players got the boas pretty quickly but I’m not as lucky as they are.

Man gonna b impossible get klaus! They should have a darn warning when a impossible timer event starts if u click someone. I went threw 10 cia agents(had 8 saved) n 3 peters task n not one! Not to mention my uncommon r bearly dropping n one wine box…they need to extent it! No point in even buying the buildings to help cuz it still wouldn’t b enough when I got 54 hours left. N There’s no building for the epic help neway. So there losing mny cuz most ppl arnt gonna buy some buildings that arnt even gonna help u get klaus n sure ain’t paying the insane price they want for roger. Lol 125 for one epic. Joke! I’m just mad cuz I played from day one n got every single char n skin n I kno he’s a decoration but voiced n closest to a char u get

No matter what, there will ALWAYS be surprises in a game. I think without surprises and challenges…the game would be boring. It is like Easter Eggs in a game. They are there, but it is up to the players to find them.

Something that I tested and confirmed for myself: You can get to the stage where you will get the timer for Klaus AND still be able to give Stan tasks to earn stuff.
To do this just tap on the character you are trying to unlock and then find a Stan task from that and tap “Do It” from there. You will then get the Task List for Stan to open and you can give him a task from there. And when it ends and the the check mark appears you can tap on him to confirm the finish. Just make sure you do not tap too many times as you could accidentally trigger the timer. After that, just go back to the Item Tasklist and do it all over again.

Thanks for the tip. I was able to get Stan to work on his action to get pecan sandies! Now hope all goes well to tap him when finished. Lol. I’m about 1/3 done on collecting on Roger. Waiting on those boas before triggering Stan. The good news is I got the final muffin to unlock Francine and I got Fat Lois.

Fyi, ONLY do this is you’re NOT sending Stan on a task that is in the same building as another character. IE: Stan’s task in CIA building along with Quagmire’s Look for Alien Life task, also in CIA building. There’s no way to collect from Quagmire without starting timer. Boo. Just got Francine, so hopefully I can unlock Roger in time… sadface.

It’s really sad that TinyCo makes it so that if we do not check this site we can easily throw off the whole game. Klaus is probably going to be the first timed thing I have missed getting. 2 days left and way too much stuff to collect. I have spent lots of real money on clams since day 1 but it’s starting to get ridiculous. I know they need to make money but this is looking like the South Park Freemium game episode more and more. 😦

I’m so stoked about getting Klaus, even though he is not a character, he is a voiced deco which is as close as a character as it gets, he is going to go nice next to the mother alien which was the first voiced deco

Same with me. It took me less than 24 hours to get the epic items. The box wines have been the most difficult, but I am still on track to finish in the three days I have left.

I’ll never understand the vast disparity between players when it comes to item luck. I have had Peter and Hayley doing their tasks nonstop, and I’ve tapped at least a dozen CIA agents since building Roger’s ship. So far I have one boa.

I have gotten no sleep since these timed events have entered my quahog. I hope I can get Klaus I love AD and really want to get him. Still need 3 muffins for Francine and almost everything for roger and only have 2 days left. 😦

This has easily been my favorite event thus far. I hate to ask, but when is it going to be over? I just want to make sure I get everything that I want from the event before it’s too late. I can’t find that info anywhere. Also, do you or Alyssa know why they decided not to have a dedicated tab for the AD event in the store, or a dedicated area at the top of the map like all the other events? Thanks again for all your hard work you put into FGA!

This really isn’t a massive event like the others that need that kind of set up. This one was slow n simple. No extras needed. The items for the event do have a cool background behind them in the menus.

at the very least, i think it would’ve been far fairer to have the klaus task start after roger’s ship was built.
i hope i can make this happen. from day one of the AD event, i have been hoping and wishing for klaus, even if he’s just a deco. i wouldn’t mind spending clams on something i really want, but in this case, rushing roger costs a fortune!
i was in such a good mood after the rupert boxes, too!

Yeah, 145 clams per boa is murder on a claim account. So I guess it’s the “Free”way or Klaus hits the highway in my game.
On an aside, I kind of had an feeling if Klaus was include he would have had to have been a deco, as he really isn’t that mobile on the show. Herbert is currently the slowest character and is a PITA because he sometimes throws my times off since his task clock doesn’t start until he get to it location. I would really have hated to see how slow Klaus would have been using his little fish fins to drag him from place to place. 😀

i actually don’t like or use the drag/drop feature for characters, but for herbert it helps a lot. click and hold on to him and drag him to his house or building, it’ll immediately start the task without him shuffling across town 🙂

I have clicked 15 cia dudes and Peter did the quest twice, not one boa. My hayley is only level 5 so she can’t do her quest yet. Very irritating

all that my characters are supposed to work for in unlocking roger. they just aren’t being given for some reason. if i don’t get a single thing by mid morning tomorrow i might be tempted to contact tinyco.

Try a force close and/or restart of device. See if there is a change. Usually you will get a common or two. The rarer ones I can see taking more time.

I got Roger’s sand bar but it isn’t displaying right. Just a dirt patch with 2 gears. Anyone else? I put in a support ticket but haven’t heard back yet. Wondering if it is just me.
