Update: There seems to be a lot of confusion about Affection Meter Prizes & this Phase. As noted in the post below, you MUST have completed My Funny Valentine Part 13 to see anything from Phase 3 (except the Goat, he’s independent of Phase 3). This includes Affection Meter Prizes. So if you’re not getting Bonnie’s prize, check to see if you’ve completed My Funny Valentine Part 13.
Also, as noted below, Cupid won’t unlock until you’ve reached Part 6 of Can’t Buy Me Love. So until that point you won’t see his bench available for repair.
Hello There Clammers!
Week 3 of Valentine’s Day is now live! And just in time for the Oscars, it’s time to send characters on Movie dates! Ahh the perfect date…where you don’t have to talk to each other.
Back with more as we go through it…
Note: Cupid IS Timed! Once you repair the bench and find him, you’ll have 5 days to unlock. So proceed with caution! Cupid also REQUIRES the Cupid Statue from the Affection Meter. So you MUST get the Love Prize if you want to unlock Cupid. Again…if you get the Hate prize you will not be able to unlock Cupid at this time.
IF you’re close to the hate prize…you’ll still have a chance to get it in the Handmade Valentine Box. More details on it below…but if you go for the Asylum you can still win the Statue in that box.
First thing you may (or may not notice) is some changes have been made to the PDA couples…in how they look. From TinyCo:
“Enamored Couples will feature a dark-haired man with a dark gray shirt and a blonde woman with a pink shirt. They will also have pink hearts floating around them when they stop walking. Enamored Couples will stop and kiss.
Angry couples will feature a blond man with a light purple shirt and a brunette woman with a red shirt. They will also have purple broken hearts floating around them. Angry Couples will stop and fight.”
Also…you MUST have completed My Funny Valentine Pt. 13 in order to see Phase 3….

Casaroja Move Theater- In the event area, repair for 1,000 Valentines. This will enable Move Theater Dates
Vajberry Bar and Grill- 500 Valentines, 4hr Build. Earns 10 Valentines/8hrs.
Second Chances Chapel- 75 Clams. Earns 6 Valentines, 25xp/4hrs. Always Drops Love Hearts
McCounseling Center- 75 Clams. Earns 6 Valentines, 25p/4hrs. Always drops Hate Hearts.
Decorations…sorta
Chinese New Year Goat- 120 Clams. shh don’t tell the Cubs 😉
New Dating Options
The Casaroja Move Theater in the Event Area opens up a whole new set of dating options and prizes! Same deal as before. To send characters on dates just tap on the theater (or their task box) and pick two characters to send on a date to see their comparability. Each date lasts 4 hrs, and can earn you Love Hearts or Hate Hearts!
Special Date Combinations can also earn you special Prizes! Here’s what you can win:

Handmade Valentine Mystery Box
For 1,000 Valentines you’ll have a chance to get items you may have missed on the Affection Meter because you went the other way! It’s also a chance to get some items from the Event Area (like the Cafe)!
Note…there is currently a glitch ongoing with the Box where it won’t let you proceed. TinyCo has been alerted and they’re working on it! A patch was pushed to fix this!

To get Cupid you’ve got to repair his Park Bench. It costs 50 Valentines and takes 4hrs. Cupid IS Timed! Once unlocked you’ll have 5 days to unlock. To unlock Cupid you’ll have to get STUFF. Here’s what you’ll need:

I really like this update so far. The mystery box is a great solution to missing prizes, and gives us something to do with our Valentines. I also like how they changed the outfits on the PDA couples.

Good evening Bunny (well, evening over here on the Central Coast of Cali)! I know you’re probably busy getting info together for the new update, but I’m hoping for a bit of counsel… I do realize this issue has been reported already, but when trying to buy the Rupert Mystery Box I get the Consuela screen saying “Response Error Config empty for id vdayMysteryBox3_Prize 3_Reward in Reward,” then the game resets. Now, is this something I should still report in-game? Or is it super widespread enough that they are working on a big fix for us all? As always, I appreciate your help. Hop-hop! –MuMpY–

A patch was pushed to fix this a little while ago. Try hard closing your Quahog and go back into it. If it’s still not repaired then contact TC… 🙂

I say this with the utmost sincerity and care… if you hate the game so much. There is no joy in it to you. It just makes you miserable… then why continue to play it? I get you are frustrated but to come on our site and take it out on us is not really fair, don’t you think? We put a LOT of time, money and effort in to each and every post so it’s kind of a slap in the face to constantly make sour remarks. (That’s where WHAT THE DEUCE posts come in and are for.)
Games are meant to be enjoyed, if you have none… it would not be a bad thing to walk away. This game is not for everyone. it is not perfect not will it EVER be. Nature of the beast (almost 3yrs running on the OTHER game and still issues with it as of this moment).
So I ask you to please think it over, try to keep the negativity where it belongs on the posts we make specifically for it, and allow the hard work and effort we put into the site and each post be regarded in a much kinder manner. 😉

I have to say I love the Valentine’s event. Tinyco has been extremely fair and pretty much has bent over backwards for everybody’s demands and complaints. Bunny and Alissa … You do great work keeping up on this site. It is more than appreciated, everything you do for us addicts. You have the patience of saints to answer the same questions over and over in the comments sections. I don’t know how you do it. You’re great at everything you do here!! Huge thanks!

Yeah I just got 5 as well got the hot tub Stevie statue and about half of the valentines area as decorations (movie theatre, fountain, cupid’s throne). Have to keep trying after I get more valentines I guess.

Ok I meant stewie statue. Also I was worried you needed the statue to repair the bench but it looks like you just need it to finish so plenty of time especially if the mystery box doesn’t reward duplicate items.

Any idea how much the gift box will be and if we can use valentine cards for it? My hate meter is almost at the asylum. If the box will cost clams, i will have to start collecting hearts to reverse it. Used all my clams on a mystery box.

Well I know for me I just spent 7000 cards, all I had, on the boxes and I didn’t get the statue. So now I don’t even know if I’ll be able to get enough cards for another chance, let alone enough chances to for sure get the statue I need for a character.
It’s pretty frustrating.

Maybe I just don’t know what I’m doing…but what good are the hm valentines if all they buy are the same useless decos..Anything of any value or interest…like the buildings, cost clams! . I have 33,000 valentines…what good are they? I’ve already spent too much on clams..I can’t afford to play much longer! I don’t know how others can afford it?…I don’t have friends on FB playing…is that the difference?

More than 2 hours late (as always) and still loaded with glitches (as always). 😡
One of the bad glitches: The Rupert box wasn’t even available in the store; I had to find it in the Valentine HUD and click on it from there, which rebooted my game and, when I came back, the box was now installed in the store. Now, I can’t view the prizes in the box because another code prompt comes up and reboots my game again. It says “config empty prize 1” or something. I reported it.
One of the good glitches: I noticed the movie theatre was able to be repaired before the quest for it even started. 😀 I’ve already repaired it and sent Bonnie and Joe on their date. 😛

Again tiny co fs us. If i knew that id miss out on a character i wouldve gotten the decoration. I was very pleased with the changing of pda couples and the showing us the next prizes but again they deceived us and this is not fair. I don’t like betting on the mystery boxes and i really hope that they dont cost clams. Come on tiny co we are loyal gamers stop jerking us around we are not stupid and see what youre doing. Trying to milk us for everything you can it seems

Just used 4000 cards (all the ones I had) and there’s still 7 prizes to go, knowing my luck and how slowly I’ve been collecting valentines I’ll end up missing out, but at least they’re giving us the chance. If we’d been able to see how much each would cost sooner it would have been easier to judge what the usefulness of each would be

Just tried to open the homemade Valentine’s box for 1000 Valentine cards. I got an error message and then the game crashed… twice. Fortunately I didn’t lose the 1000 cards, but the mystery box doesn’t seem to be working. I sent a message.

I’ve got the glitch with the new mystery box so I don’t know what the prizes are… But the new prizes in the Romantic Thoroughfare are lousy – recycled Halloween & 4th of July stuff. I am sure some people may want them, but Octomom? Fireworks? All these decorations in multiples are in storage and don’t have anything to do with the current theme. But at least there is the movie theater with prizes to work towards.

So, despite the uproar from people upset that they missed out on the liquor store, they continue to allow us to collect hearts, and now just as many of us are about to be screwed out of collecting Cupid (including myself, who just got the Asylum,) because we chose the building that earns things instead of the plain looking deco?
Seriously about to be done with this game for good. Every single event has had some kind of broken mechanic that they have to go back and make right, and they clearly never learn from it. I’m sorry, but this is ridiculous.

I just read Bunny’s comment about the mystery box and how it contains the prizes we didn’t get, meaning we still have a chance at the cupid statue and Cupid himself. So I apologize for the outburst.
Still, it remains pretty ridiculous how they keep us in the dark about so many things, and the point still stands about the broken mechanics. TinyCo, to their credit, has managed to listen to the players and make it right. It’s just frustrating that that seems to have to happen every event.

This is seriously lame. Not happy at all. Tiny Co needs to fix this right away or they are going to get a lot of crap from all the players that went with hate on that part. Not cool. I really wish the prizes would tell you how or if they will be valuable so we can make informed decisions. Like, will they be animated? Will they drop anything? As it is, it’s kind of a gamble. I mean, We KNOW the buildings will at least drop coins (maybe items) but will the cherub statue drop anything? Sure would be nice to know since we can onły have one or the other.
