Also, as noted below, Cupid won’t unlock until you’ve reached Part 6 of Can’t Buy Me Love. So until that point you won’t see his bench available for repair.
Hello There Clammers!
Week 3 of Valentine’s Day is now live! And just in time for the Oscars, it’s time to send characters on Movie dates! Ahh the perfect date…where you don’t have to talk to each other.
Back with more as we go through it…
Note: Cupid IS Timed! Once you repair the bench and find him, you’ll have 5 days to unlock. So proceed with caution! Cupid also REQUIRES the Cupid Statue from the Affection Meter. So you MUST get the Love Prize if you want to unlock Cupid. Again…if you get the Hate prize you will not be able to unlock Cupid at this time.
IF you’re close to the hate prize…you’ll still have a chance to get it in the Handmade Valentine Box. More details on it below…but if you go for the Asylum you can still win the Statue in that box.
First thing you may (or may not notice) is some changes have been made to the PDA couples…in how they look. From TinyCo:
“Enamored Couples will feature a dark-haired man with a dark gray shirt and a blonde woman with a pink shirt. They will also have pink hearts floating around them when they stop walking. Enamored Couples will stop and kiss.
Angry couples will feature a blond man with a light purple shirt and a brunette woman with a red shirt. They will also have purple broken hearts floating around them. Angry Couples will stop and fight.”
Also…you MUST have completed My Funny Valentine Pt. 13 in order to see Phase 3….

Casaroja Move Theater- In the event area, repair for 1,000 Valentines. This will enable Move Theater Dates
Vajberry Bar and Grill- 500 Valentines, 4hr Build. Earns 10 Valentines/8hrs.
Second Chances Chapel- 75 Clams. Earns 6 Valentines, 25xp/4hrs. Always Drops Love Hearts
McCounseling Center- 75 Clams. Earns 6 Valentines, 25p/4hrs. Always drops Hate Hearts.

Chinese New Year Goat- 120 Clams. shh don’t tell the Cubs 😉
New Dating Options
The Casaroja Move Theater in the Event Area opens up a whole new set of dating options and prizes! Same deal as before. To send characters on dates just tap on the theater (or their task box) and pick two characters to send on a date to see their comparability. Each date lasts 4 hrs, and can earn you Love Hearts or Hate Hearts!
Special Date Combinations can also earn you special Prizes! Here’s what you can win:

Handmade Valentine Mystery Box
For 1,000 Valentines you’ll have a chance to get items you may have missed on the Affection Meter because you went the other way! It’s also a chance to get some items from the Event Area (like the Cafe)!
Note…there is currently a glitch ongoing with the Box where it won’t let you proceed. TinyCo has been alerted and they’re working on it! A patch was pushed to fix this!

To get Cupid you’ve got to repair his Park Bench. It costs 50 Valentines and takes 4hrs. Cupid IS Timed! Once unlocked you’ll have 5 days to unlock. To unlock Cupid you’ll have to get STUFF. Here’s what you’ll need:

Hi guys 🙂 I know that there’s no way for you to know this unless they release it in the game, so im just asking for an opinion. Based on past events, do you think more buildings will be released before the event is over? I want to clear some more land, but I’m afraid to have my workers tied up.

If I go the “hate” route with Meg and get the voodoo shop, can I then get Hot Meg in the Mystery Box? Wouldn’t that be quicker since the voodoo shop is only 150 hate vs 350 love for Hot Meg.

It depends. How many Valentine’s do you have? There will be MORE than just here in there and you can’t pick and choose. It’s random. So… if you have the Valentine’s… go for the easier win on Hate and get her in the Box.

1. Play through the new questlines (see bottom of this very post) and it unlocks with a pop up during the first few tasks.
2. It takes time and a LOT of Clams to put together. Patience, I am working on it. 😉 (Hint is if they were love in the other two locations they will be in Movie. Same with Hate.)

Does TinyCo give you free clams or are you using your own money? I always thought you got it for free and now I feel guilty for taking all you free advice if you had to put your own money into it. :-\

Every single Clam up to this point has been supplied out of our OWN Pockets. Mine and Alissa’s. I would have been nice to supply 4 games with FREE Clams, but that has never been nor do I believe will it ever be the case. We don’t mind. It is the same on our other site. Our money. Our donuts. (You don’t wanna see our bill. Lol.)
TinyCo understands, as we speak with them daily, just how MUCH we put into the games (we each have our own) and this site and has made a small gesture in return. They just started it. Was quite humbled and proud of them for the gesture. 😉

WOW, this gives me a clear indication of how much people want Hot Meg! She is going to be a lot of strategic work to get if you haven’t got a full compliment of characters to get her. I am almost at 13, unlocking Cheryl, backtracking on my Asylum, don’t need a duplicate and progressing through the new questlines. I have over 30000 valentines, so I’m not really stressing too much about it, looking forward to opening the Theater. I do want that Ferris Wheel!

I’ve yet to get phase 3. There’s no update in the iOS app store, and logging in to the game shows the same ol’ stuff. I’ve completed all of the beautiful people questline. Am I missing something here? Anyone else with an iPhone already on phase 3?

I am still very annoyed about the Insane Asylum vs. Cupid Statue incident. Why in the world would they 1) have something that isn’t unique as one of the options? Were they that hard pressed to come up with a unique Hate prize? 2) and make a item required to get a character part of a vs. option? Very disappointed in TinyCo for doing this. I hope this isn’t a start to something they plan on doing again in the future because right now I am about ready to just throw in the towel. Glitches with the coffee shop and the perfume sprayers are making the game a chore instead of fun. I missed out on getting the PDA Couple this morning because of the gltch with Glenda going invisible when she deals with them and not being able to center on the area where the PDA’s show up. The game just stutters and looks like it’s having a seizure.
Though, the sliver lining is I got Cupid’s Statue my first time I was able to open the mystery box.
Though because the event currency was not collected en mass like previous ones, the price for the mystery box should have ideally been set at 250.

I bought the mystery box until it wouldn’t let me anymore…hot Meg was never listed in the prizes. But I got tons of decorations so I’m happy. We need to acknowledge how nice TinyCo is being about this event. Only one character cost clams and Cupid? I already have all I need for him and I haven’t even gotten to repair his bench. There’s always somebody mad about something but honestly, they seem to b generous on this event. Thanks for the walkthrus!!

You’ve still got to earn the final Hate Prize before you’ll see Hot Meg in the Box. Once you unlock the final prize, whichever you didn’t unlock will go to the box.

Best event so far. Premium makes things easier but the rest is possible with diligent tapping. Excellent. Chistmas was terrible on that front. Bought something this time round too. Xmas just felt like pay for jesus.

So I really need advice do I go for the hate prize and buy hot Meg from the box or try and get 350 love hearts I’m currently at 6 love because updates happen when I’m asleep and I didn’t know which couples to pick. What’s the math on hearts I don’t have Arnold or the romantic walk way.

Hate hearts would be the faster route…but it’s entirely up to you as to which way you want to go. Either way you’ll get her

couples pop up every 3 hours, (i think like 7 of each?)., cafe – peter-louis -7hearts, movie – bonnie-joe – 7hearts each, 4 hours. So technically you could earn 140hearts per day. However sleep, work etc….wont make that happen. But even with half as much, 70 hearts per day you can still make it. 70*6=420. 350 hearts are required. If you want to make sure you get hot meg and don’t want to “buy” her with valentine cards then go this route. Just make sure you get min 60 hearts per day. (there is a countdown in game to see how much time is left). Make sure peter-louis-joe-bonnie are available for this and don’t use them for other stuff. (there might be other couples that get 7 hearts but I didnt check and am sticking to these)

An easier way to get the Hot Meg and Cupid Statue is to go for the Hate Prizes (less hate hearts and faster to get them). Then just buy the Homemade Valentine’s Box for 1,000 valentines that otherwise will get wasted on decorations. I just got all the prizes I missed from the different tiers just by using a few valentines (I had racked like 40,000) this way.

That’s really damn annoying that a character comes from the statue. I already had the asylum but I thought it would be useful to have another building instead of a stupid statue. I appreciate the offer. It’s REALLY hard for us to add a “donation” button. We enjoy giving to others. It is who we are. We know our readers are in same boat as us when it comes to money for the game. Taking it from those we set out to help is not the same as an offer from those that make it and it belongs to them. Lol. (If that makes sense.) Anything we get for the site goes right back into the site and to pay for its upkeep. I just don’t ever want people to feel they HAVE to give to us. I would rather the money went to a good local charity or places like that. (Pay it Forward mentality.)
We will think on it some more and try to find a way that may offer something in the middle. 😉

another thing I wanted to say is I don’t understand exactly Why they had to change the couples AGAIN?! like did they already have thta planned out cause the event is coming to an end or what? Personally, I think it’s challenging enough. My town is a mess, I’ve ripped up my roads, stored all NPC that I enjoy having roam around my town. I have to navigate around all characters doing outdoor tasks, try not to trigger anyone working on a task or I’ll get a popup I have to speed through to get back to couples. Then throw in perfume sprayers and chumbas and whatever else players have roaming around… So, I have to disagree with you. I appreciate the color change.

I’m super stoked they changed the PDA couples outfits. It makes it so much easier to get the love hearts! I’ll have hot meg in no time! Send Carter and Babs on a coffee date was 5 but seems they boosted it 7 maybe? Cause I got 7 last time I just checked. Then if you have Arnold make him puff cigar for some hearts. Then try and find the best movie theatere dates and you’re golden!

I just spent 1000 valentines and received the archery set. To say I’m gutted is an understatement. I can’t believe 1k valentines would give the mist depressing prize in the game. Safe to say I’ll never use that!

WOW!!!…my game seems to be crashing more and more with all the new stuff they’re adding to the games! whyyy i never had a serious problem with it crashing hardcore until now! && I really hope it doesn’t get worse and seems like every time I move down to the very right top AND bottom of my town, it crashes the most!

It will. I cant visit my friends towns anymore. It always crashes in Ollieland. I sent countless crash reports to TinyCo. Now it crashes every 5 minutes or so no matter what.

For people who want to unlock Hot Meg, could you do a daily calendar of how many hearts you need to collect everyday. I’m at 125 hearts and I need a total of 600 to get the Cupid Post and Hot Meg.

Will look into it, my suggestion is to use our dating posts (Valentine’s 101) and send Characters round the clock date after date to get the most hearts you can. Along with the PDA couples with Love Hearts.

I’ve got 34 in a bit more than 4 hours (2 waves of couples, 2 coffee dates and 1 movie date), so I guess getting around 70 a day is possible.
