Looks like TinyCo wants to offer a lil fun Mini-Event for our games starting this weekend. This will be a quick lil one. Just short of a week. Why? Peter of course! Doesn’t this lil world revolve around him?
You will have til Thursday, May 14th to finish.
Just what is this lil Mini-Event all about? Well… haven’t YOU heard? It was my understanding EVERYONE heard…
BIRD IS THE WORD!!! Ba ba ba ba ba ba Bird Bird Bird….
Once you complete the Naughty By Nature Pt 1, and additional task pops up (at least in my game it did). It triggers a 3 DAY TIMER!!! If you get all 3 Animals, you will get “Bear Man” for Free. (See bottom of post.)
Peter, gaining all his knowledge from TV of course, has decided after watching an Episode of a certain “Bear Man” that he needs a beard. Why not? Beards make you more majestic. Beards make you confident, right?
Peter will trigger the New Questline, Naughty by Nature. Along with a 2nd questline after Part 1 is triggered, Watching Birds.

hey guys I’m still loving the event. I only got 10 blue birds 17 green 19 fuschia and all of the other. I was a lil annoyed with the green birds not being dropped by Peter even once for me. so I asked TinyCo they replied to me pretty quick and said considering there’s only 2 days left of the event they won’t be altering anything else. Even tho I’m on constantly looks like I won’t be getting this skin unless I get lucky with blue birds lol. The cabin has only dropped that first one from making it.

Never mind I have hope. Lol I spent a few clams, under 10, rushing quests n now I only need 3 blue n 4 green birds. I think spending a clam to rush may boost odds.

In my experience, a “rare” drop rate means 5 drops per character per week for any task length over 2hrs. (People who can tap at work/school or stay home may be able to get slightly higher.)
So, clearly this event isn’t going to pan out for me, on the basis of the blue birds alone (I currently have 2/20). Oh well, guess it’s time for a break then.

Yah, I think many of us are burned out after Star Trek and were hoping for a more slow paced thing. A grind immediately after a very grinding event has worn many thin. Just do what you can. If you need to step away, do it. We took a break over the weekend and it helped. 😉

The Green birds only had only three characters to start (They added over eat Peter at some point) each doing 12 hour shifts. You need 30 so each of the three characters needs to get 10 out only 14 chances in a perfectly played week. They are “Common” not “always” so you have to knock off 1-4 depending on odds. That isn’t good. I missed just over a day as I did a 50k trail run and was out of “civilization” aka cell range for a day. Not sure it is mathematically possible for me to do it. I find it worse to come up just short. Still frustrated at Tiny Co. Spent my synthesizer ore (as they suggested) just before they announced Uhura. Spent all week trying to come up with 50 SO and came up two short. Plenty of everything else. I would have gladly shelled out a few clams to get her, but no option. I play diligently so it is frustrating to repeatedly come up just short. BirdBeard Peter is extra frustrating as it was almost mathematically impossible from the start and I am not paying $20 worth of clams for him! Ugh.

I contacted TinyCo through the game and asked for more time or more character tasks. I’m mostly concerned about the blue birds, but still concerned about the green. My stats are:
All Yellow
7/20 Blue
16/25 Red
18/30 Green

Well, I’m just having crap luck with Blue Bird drops. 9 so far, and I have alarms set to when characters are going to make drops. 2 blue birds today. Makes me anxious that I won’t make it in time. {crosses fingers}

1 Blue Bird left. At 3:24pm EDT, Jerome, Bonnie, and James Woods High will drop. Here’s hoping one of them pulls through otherwise I’ll be out 15 clams. Not averse to paying that negligible amount, but crossing my fingers that I won’t have to do so.

Here are my bird totals so far: 85/6/17/19. Blue birds are definitely a struggle. I’ve gotten one from Lois, 3 from Kris, and 2 from the cabin (including the one you almost always get from completely the build) despite checking every 4 hours.

Response from Tiny Co.:
Sorry for the inconvenience! We’ve double checked the drop rates of all birds and they are functioning correctly. The chance they drop can range from common to ultra rare and there’s also an element of randomness. The drop chance becomes much more likely if you haven’t received an item after a certain number of tries. This number is different for every item. Keep trying, and the birds will drop eventually!
And thanks for writing in, we are taking all feedback concerning item drops into account and I will bring this to the attention of the team.
To clarify: none of the birds are ultra rare drops.

Ironically, the last 2 cycles, Lois, Kris, and the cabin have all dropped blue birds. Anyone else experiencing this change in drop rate?

I got just one blue out of the log cabin over the past 2-3 days… Maybe 3 total since it started. Otherwise it’s been just from Chris and his bucket since I don’t have Rambo Lois yet (she’s been practicing martial arts diligently, but headbands are scarce). I have all the other needed people for the birdies. I’ve been at it frequently since it was first announced, so it’s not your imagination that these little buggers are hard to catch. Will see what happens by the end. If they weren’t so stingy with headbands (or I weren’t so unwilling to buy the head band-dropping building with clams = real money) so I could get Rambo Lois, my chances for blues might be more firmly in the feasible range though. So maybe this event isn’t actually impossible. As Barbie says about math, it’s just hard.

Let me add my lament about the blue birds to the chorus but I also want to add that I’m also having a slight problem with the drop rate for the fuschia birds. I figure I have 30 more chances to get 13 more blue birds and 21 more chances to get 11 more fuschia birds. I may just barely make the fuschia but will miss on the blue. The first time I will miss something in the game since playing last year.
Hey TinyCo, we either need a couple more days or 1-2 more characters with blue bird tasks.

I decided to rush the actions and buildings for the fuschia and blue birds and all six hit. So for 18 clams (the actions had about 1.5-2 hours left but it’s bedtime) I got 3 blue and 3 fuschia birds. Lucky me. 😃

Yeah, I don’t know about everyone else, but I’ve been keeping my tasks going pretty much constantly since this started and I still only have 9 of 20 blue birds, 16 of 25 pink ones, and 21 of 30 green ones. Don’t think I’m going to get there. Finished yellow ones the second day.

I agree, my current totals are 85/6/15/18. Those blue birds hardly ever drop, I just got my first one from the building. I don’t see finishing by the 14th.

There is no way in hell I’ll be able to get enough blue birds by the end of the event and after spending way too much money on the Star Trek event I’m not going to be buying clams to get him. They dropped this on us way too fast after the super grind that was the Star Trek event (it was awesome though 🙂 ) To hell with Bird Beard Peter!

I bought the mountain lion deco, and its not in my game or inventory. It took the clams and shows on the deal pop up that I bought it, but its nowhere to be found…

The Blue Birds arent dropping enough. I’very already got 85 Yellow Birds and I’m getting 18 chances for Blue Birds every 24 hours…and it’s lagging behind. One more character on Blue Bird would do it.

So disappointed.. After the Star Trek event I thought there would be a break from any timed tasks so I didn’t log in for a couple days only to find out I’m now 2 full days behind. This is going to be the first skin I won’t get seeing how I need 20 uncommon birds and the tasks to get them take 12 hrs. Don’t think it’s mathematically possible now. Huge bummer!!

Let me ask you this… How many OTHER costumes do you have for Peter? Do you ever see them since getting them? Is it worth it to grind over another? Or will you be OK if one goes by?
Sorry you are a lil behind, just don’t want you to stress over getting another costume you may not even miss in the future if that makes sense.
Just play if you want just for fun. See how far you get. Or just get the other items that are obtainable by coin.

Lol. I do wish the questline was more involved in an alternative way. So many hilarious one liners, innuendos, Inside jokes, etc. I’d love to be able to see them play out. It does seem a waste. I keep making requests to find ways to keep them going. 😉

It’s actually not mathematically possible. The Green Birds (originally) all required 12 hour jobs. We need 30 in a week’s time. Broken down it looks like:
7 (days) x 24 (hours) = 168 hours.
168 (hours) ÷ 12 (hour tasks) = 14
14 times you can do a 12 hour task within 7 days. We need 30 birds. We can only get 14 of them. Giving Peter a 6 hour job will NOT help at all. Might get you up to 23-24.
If there’s a flaw in my math, please feel free to point it out.

There is a lil something you are missing. You are factoring it in like only one Character does the task. There are now 4 Characters able to do the task. 4×14 =56 possible chances to get 30 items. Gonna take some work… but doable. That is counting Peter as part of the 12hrs, but he is only 6hrs… so even double on his chances. 😉

What is the drop % rate for “common”. It is not always (as the above math assumes) and that complicates the issue. Also, if you missed a day or got a slow start your chances diminish.

They never released those to the public. So we assumed on our game stats. Varies about 85 to 98%.
They also have the “fail safe” they added to the game last july-ish. If you “fail” to get an item after X amount of tries… the odds get better in YOUR favor. Kinda like going from extra rare to rare and so on.
Too many “maths” to figure out those odds. Lol. Too many variables each player and Character involved. I see the changes, just don’t have the exact calculations to provide. Lol. Sorry 😉

Thanks. As always you are a BIG help!! I wish I was a little more compulsive and tracked the actually drops per chance. I kinda ass_u_me_d that Common was about 90%. Once you have a good guesstimate of the %, the math is all quite easy from there. But I do not trust Tiny Co’s random number generator. This morning I struck out. 0-4 on green birds–Peter, Herbert, Bruce and Mort all failed to drop a Green Bird. If you had a 90% chance of getting one from each drop, you would have a 10% each of not getting one. So the odds of all 4 not getting one is 1 in 10,000!!!! ( 0.1*0.1*0.1*0.1=0.0001). At your low end 85% chance of getting a green bird, there is a ~5 in 10,000 (~2 in 10 million at 98%) chance of striking out. The really “odd” thing is I also struck out on Blue Birds from Lois, Chris, and the Cabin. I struck out of Fuchsia birds from Bonnie and JWHS, but finally got one from Jerome. Not sure what the odds ranges are for rare and uncommon, but it looks like the odds of my striking out this AM are some where in the neighborhood of 1 in 500,000 to 1 in a million. Either Tiny Co has something screwed up or I need to play the Lottery tonight! 😉 Anecdotally, I have noticed that when I start after an absence (overnight, etc) that I tend to hit them all or miss almost all. I am done with yellow, but only have 13/20 Blue, 13/25 Fuchsia and 19/30 Green. So the odds are stacked strongly against me!! I am a little OCD, but not a completionist. I like the game and it is a cool way to kill a few minutes several times a day. Tiny Co is a business and their purpose is to sell clams plain and simple–I get it and appreciate it. They give away the freemium game hoping that folks will get caught up and some will buy clams. That is the reality of the market and that is fine. They have to earn a living too!! I let a lot of stuff go during the big events and routinely buy a couple of items during the long events, but the average player should have a reasonable shot at getting everything done during these short, timed events. Missing the items in the short events makes me less willing to convert $$–>clams in the long events.

I think that adding Peter overeating definitely HELPED the bird totals, but then it is only for one color… For some reason it’s the blue birds that are rarely dropping for me. But everyone’s results are different, and I’m not complaining. I’ve been know to drop some clams into my game to help. Especially if I’ve been grinding away to collect items on these timed events, and the deadline is imminent, and I’m just a few short… I’m not one to let it slip away after working so hard.

All I can say is I am glad that the only other questline I have in play is the blimp trips, which only require Stewie, Vinnie, and Brian, until I get to the Future Quest and Need Lois, so I am not losing anything by playing this event. I like the new wooded area I have in town, complete with a nice bird sanctuary, a log cabin, and geyser, but I am not going to stress over getting birds that aren’t falling for me. I have been done with the yellow ones for a couple days, but the green and blue just are not coming around.
Nothing more frustrating then sending 3 characters on 12 hour tasks, and they bring nothing back – twice in a row! The 4 times I have sent Peter yielded 1 bird. I understand the concept of a rare drop, but are they necessary on a short event? It took forever to get the banana peels, which also required 12 hour tasks, and that was on a one week deadline. I did send this same message to TinyCo, but they think adding Peter solved the problem.

The green birds (Mort, Bruce, Herbert and Peter) are common drops, not rare. Sounds like you have a terrible drop rate. The blue birds that come from Lois, Chris and the Log Cabin are the rare drops. I’ve seen other people say the green birds were classed as rare in their game at the beginning so maybe something weird is going on.
The thing with the advertised drop rates is that TinyCo do play about with them, sometimes rare drops more than uncommon, sometimes rare is more like epic, they keep changing things around so it’s hard to ever tell how good or bad things will drop.
I still think it’d be nice if someone at TinyCo was to play along with these events and maybe post their progress. If there’s any problems then they would see them the same way the rest of us do, and they could point to their own game for the people that cry “impossible” on Day 2.

I just splurged on the geyser, too, after getting over the sticker shock. I finally decided the $15,000 geyser gave me more visual pleasure than the more sensible $25,000 worth of cleared land I bought last week…. 🙂 They certainly do have some nice stuff to buy in this mini event, somebody let their artistic side loose. I just got into District 5, though, and am feeling guilty about making poor Seamus wait to get his prosthetics fixed until I get those silly birdies (finished with yellows, almost half way with others). I need the same people for both. Wish I could just get him a bottle of superglue to tide him over.

Whatever happened to just “here’s a new character/costume, enjoy” and we have no time limit and can unlock it WHEN we are able without making every single one now a “limited time offer”? The big event characters I get being limited time and challenging, but these little additions should not be timed like they used to be.
That way, we can log in when we have time to do so and collect leisurely and get the costume/character when we individually get it.
If it takes 3 weeks for someone, but 1 week for another, it only depended on their dedication and frequency they logged in. The same with drops. Items should just drop always and depend on the number needed and the times the tasks are. So if someone logs in every hour they’d be done in said week, but a more casual player can not stress and take a month if that is their commitment to the game.
But to force us to stress and then panic and end up buying and using clams seems to be the MO lately for TinyCo and it is not healthy. For us not them. Because “fool me once…”

Lol. You must have not played this game long as that is EXACTLY how they run their game and have since day one. Districts: take time. Events: you got to work it to earn it.
You don’t HAVE to buy into the game. That is your choice. But that is the same as going to the store and seeing a movie, TV, or any other item you want. YOU need to make the decision if that item is really worth it to buy or if it is better to just let that one go as 3 months from now it really won’t matter. 😉

I’ve played since circus peter last year. And aside from the big events, all the characters and costumes were at-your-own-pace to unlock. Don’t belittle my input. As a long time player, I’ve seen this game go from being able to pick up and play as little or much without missing out until the “event” models started forcing every new character and cool thing there instead.
Districts opened and characters were included. And it was up to you as to how long it took to get them, not a timer.
I didn’t appreciate the “lol. You must be a newbie” comment. This is actually the third time you, Bunny, have shot down a comment of mine. I have also seen your attitudes change over the months. You seem to take TinyCo’s side over the players/fans and be very corporate in your treatment towards the concerns of us, the players.
I used to go here and love to share in the fun. Now it feels like my personal contributions don’t matter. I will politely log in now and then, but I think I’ll go to **** instead since they don’t put down their followers.

Sorry you think my asking something honestly was an “attack”. I was actually speaking VERY much for the player in my response. Stating do NOT fall for it. But if you feel that offering that accurate helpful information isn’t good enough for you, you are more than welcome to go somewhere else. As to the LOL… I was laughing at the thought that they “never” did this before. I think you are just only noticing it more and more now as the game isn’t so “new” in your mind. We pay attention closer when things are not so “new”. We start to pick things apart more. That is common with anything in life.
As for comments “shot down”, this is the ADDICTS site… not one owned by anyone else but the Addicts. We do have guidelines, if they are not followed… we do follow through with our statement when it comes to comments. We are not a door mat for people to come wipe their feet on. We are here to HELP players. If you go to a helpful post to spout out hate, language, or other violations it WILL be moderated. You want to vent, keep it on the WTD posts. It is why they were put in place. Language WILL be moderated regardless. Also an ADDICTS Guideline violation.
As for taking TinyCo’s side… that is laughable. Last time I checked it was MY polls all Star Trek Event that seemed to be quickly followed by “changes” to the game. It was also MY emails letting them know why players were asking for an extension coupled with readers responses right here attached that led to… well… you get the idea. Remember Spanish Soap Opera Peter? Stripper Bonnie? Seemed those got “changed” too. Hmmmmm wonder who was on the forefront of those battles? On the forefront of MANY battles FOR the Players. It seems easy enough for us to become targets for those upset about something to try and put words in our mouths, try to make us all of the sudden NOT helping when it suits them, but we on the other hand have 100’s of posts and thousands upon thousands of emails that say quite differently. If anything in our “attitude” has changed, it is us growing tired of people doing just that… abusing US, the Addicts. Abusing our site. Abusing our guidelines. Coming here to spout off hate and anger and thinking we HAVE to take it. It is OUR site, but if we don’t take abuse it immediately is someone else’s site? How does that make sense? So we are becoming stricter to our guidelines. You want a free for all troll haven mess? Go to their Facebook page for the Event. See how much “help” you find there. See how many thousands of comments you have to scan through to find ONE answer. We do not and will not allow that on OUR site.
As to why I asked if you were new, let me remind you of a “few” times TinyCo has asked their players to EARN it… Limited Time. If someone states they have never done this, I will question how long they’ve been playing because of what they HAVE done since launch of the game. You even mentioned one yourself, the Circus Event (which was one of the worst ones to date, just ask Alissa). Here are some helpful hints to let you know why I said that. Why I asked if you were new. Whether it was a Character or even Decorations and Buildings, timed Events have ALWAYS been there. Sorry.

Thank you. It is a group effort when it comes to relaying information. They are a business and rely on facts and stats. Using the help of our fellow players here… we show them facts and stats. It helps a lot. We can get a lot more heard with the voices of many vs just one.
As far as extending this one, I do not think they are going to look at an extension. Something else may come into play for it, so I am keeping my eye out to see what tomorrow and Thursday brings us. All we can do is wait and see. Just do what you can.

I’d prefer wasting my time and money “testing” it out than thousands of players. Both myself and Alissa wanted to do that. Strive for it. We play it ourselves. Ask those questions ourselves. Want the answers ourselves… so why not share? It’s what a community is for. We just like to do it all in a funner (yes… funner) and more “upbeat” atmosphere. Enough hate and negativity in the world. No more needed. Life needs to be fun. Full of laughter. It’s what we prefer the site to be. Help n fun. 😉

Yes, they do seem to have targeted us obsessive types who think we have to finish what we start… 🙂 Maybe that’s what the game can let us practice: letting go, relaxing, not considering ourselves failures if we play but don’t reach the goal, as long as we’re enjoying the attempt. I feel kind of bad forcing these characters to do boring or humiliating stuff again and again just to get stuff and $ for me. Okay, Peter is thoroughly enjoying his overeating task and Bonnie isn’t complaining about the jacuzzi. But it felt good when the last yellow birdie was captured and I could release Locutus from his wedgie hell and let him play with his Borg kitten again.

Yep, I had that “ah ha” moment when I realized what I was doing. So I will relax and stop caring if I finish or not. *chuckle* I am just glad Bonnie has a drinking partner in Uhura, as I was getting worried about her drinking alone all the time, since there was no Betty Ford Center in Quahog.

When exactly does this event end? I know it’s Thursday the 14th, but what time will it go away? Do we have to finish by Thursday meaning midnight or is it 6pm like the Star Treck event? I’ve never played a mini event like this so not sure exactly when stuff goes away.

Most events end pretty much the same time frame. Around 3pm Pacific. They have not announced the end time yet, but I assume that it is the usual.

Same here the yellow birds no problem. The pink and green about half way but once again the blue birds is not going to happen by Thursday I have 6, the log cabin has just dropped the first one since I built it unfortunatly Chris and Lois did not drop any, to be honest would like to get it but not bothered if I dont. At least some new free decorations from it. And just want to add my congratulations on your future addition.

Based on my calculations i have the following remaining:57 tries for blue (still need 11 more), 30 tries for fuschia (still need 11 more) and 31 tries for green (still need 16 more) assuming i catch it exactly as it finishes each task. I’m more worried about blue as its a rare drop and the last 4 tries yielded nothing. It still seems very doable though.

I like the bird quest so far, there were lots of people with yellow bird tasks (and some of the Star Trek characters got to do something) with low task times and high drop rates, so I got all 85 already.
I am glad they added a Peter task for green birds, because with 3 options that were all 12 hour tasks it looked pretty daunting (I’m at 11/30).
Blue birds and pink birds may be an issue though… 2 4-hour tasks (and a building) that have a chance of getting blue birds, but it is a rare drop so I only have 9/20. 2 8-hour tasks (and a building) that have a chance of getting pink birds, but uncommon drop so I only have 6/25.
So far my biggest gripe is that a few of the quest tasks required people that I needed to try to get more birds. And some of the people you think would have a task do not… Meg has a task for practicing bird calls, a perfect option for collecting birds, and before they gave Peter a task I was wondering why he didn’t have one despite having Falconer Peter and Pirate Peter options that would make sense for a bird quest.
There are still a few days, so it’s not a concern yet, but I wonder if they may need to add some more tasks, or at least increase the drop rates, in order to get pink and blue birds in time.

Meh, blue birds aren’t dropping so looks like I won’t be able to get another useless skin that I’d never use after this week anyway. Darn. We need land! LAND! LAND! LAND! Nice new decos and buildings but no place to put them. LAND! LAND! LAND!

All 85 yellow birds, 4 blue birds, 15 pink and 12 green. 🙂 Having fun collecting birds! Only concern is the blue ones, but I’m not too worried. 🙂 Bird is the Word!

The drop rate for the birds is not happening only 1 blue bird,3pink birds n 6 green birds. I have sent all my characters several times and nada some jobs take 12hrs at this rate for instance if i send evey character 2x a day bruce herbert n mort times 3 day left even if they would drop every time it would only give me 18 green birds and there common

Yeah, same here. 2 days of this and I’ve only gotten 1 blue bird with everyone working on it. I don’t see any possibility of getting 20 before this is over. Yet another event that’s just too impossibly short for someone who isn’t setting alarms in the middle of the night every couple of ours to keep it going. I’m really getting burned out on starting events that there is little hope of achieving.

Chris seems to produce a blue bird every time. The log cabin hardly ever. Peter does the green bird ok. Not sure about the others although I have all the characters I have plugging away at it. I have about 1/3 of each non-yellow bird, but I’ve been checking frequently since I’ve been trying to get a job done sporadically all weekend and have to stop frequently to deal with an aggravating non-fatal medical issue to calm down pesky pain flares. This game is part of my pain management strategy. I can build up coinage on the houses while waiting for the flare to die down: “Owie owie owie owie owie owie …..”. Hey, it works! But I don’t really like the time limit on this one.

So I have all my yellow birds and now the peter’s 6hr task drops green birds that’s great, luckily when they added it Peter was already on that task :). However blue birds are being a tad stubborn and am I the only person who doesn’t stay up 16hrs? I’m just not getting enough pink birds due to timing. This was my problem with borg Bertram. The thing is I know that tinyco will probably fix things if necessary but do think the numbers they asked for were a bit high. Hope u girls managed to relax and congratulations on the baby 😃

I am concerned that the drop rates may not be calibrated correctly. After round the clock grinding I have successfully completed my yellow birds but only have 6 of the other 3 colors. I think we need more character actions to drop birds in order to finish on time.

“Config empty for id Geordie default deco scan console Quahog in dualAction”.
I’ve had Geordie doing the computer banks task all day so not sure why it’s now causing an issue. 😦

I don’t think they have quite thought about the Peter bird outfit especially the green birds as 30 are needed and only 3 characters can collect them which are Hebert, Bruce and Mort and there 12 hour tasks as we only have until 14th May to complete?? I haven’t even been able to get a green bird each task which makes it even more difficult in the time period? Just as much of a struggle collecting the birds fr Jerome and Bonnie’s 8 hour tasks 😕 x

They should stop with the lil Mini-Events. The star trek event proved that they have no clue what they are doing. This games keeps adding frustrating every time you play.

I left an in game message with TinyCo that it is pretty much impossible to finish the event on time. For the green birds 3 x 2 x5 days = 30. If tasks were an always drop it might be possible to just get in under the wire (assuming the exact timing works out), but this is a common drop so we are not guaranteed, and my Mort has not dropped twice. Furthermore, even if we were to get all of the green birds, there would not be time left to fish out the questline.
Once again simple math seems to be a problem.

Is anyone else getting no were getting this costume? Getting the yellows is easy and nearly done but to get the greens its 12 hours a time with only 3 people and we need 30 of them in 5 days which means thats possible 6 a day and we only got 5 days
and for the blues ive only got 2 and 5 purples for first day and ive been setting alarms all through the night and checking game hourly through day. I dont think anyones going to get this costume
