UPDATE: 1PM EST, TinyCo just updated me that the items continuing to drop from Mystery Box should be repaired now. So please force close the app and restart your device. Let me know right away if you still see the item (Hay Bale, Ball Gag, Etc) that you already have ALL collected so I can pass it on. Otherwise, you should now have the item gone once it is all collected (make sure you tap the check mark too.)
FYI: Hay Bale issue of too many/continuing to drop from Mystery Box already reported last night. Still awaiting response. In mean time, report the issue to TinyCo from your game.
Just keep collecting Pinecones until I can get a further update.

It seems UTTERLY impossible to go a week without something New hitting our games to keep us occupied. I just hope I don’t run out of CHEESEY lines while trying to keep up. I better MILK it for all it is worth. 😉
Got the idea yet? NO??!! Well let’s take a peek at just what this Mini Event is going to drop into our silly lil games this go round.
Just to make sure you are aware, this event will end…
THURSDAY, JUNE 4TH, @ 3PM PACIFIC TIME
You will need to be on at least District 3 with Al’s unlocked and Updated to Version 1.8.5 or higher in your App Market. (My Android is on 1.8.6.)
More To Come…
Peter will start of the Event Questline, Into the Wilderness. Immediately after triggering Part 1 another Questline will trigger in the game by Peter, Holy Cow! At this point you will be starting into the Event and collection for S&M Cow. A third Questline will also trigger, Beef! It’s What’s For Dinner.
NEW CHARACTER
UPDATE 5/29: Got confirmation on this, in regards to the Timer on S&M Cow… if you have it PLACED in your town and counting down, you will have until the timer runs out to get it. But you have to have the Barn placed BEFORE the Event ends as the option to buy the Barn will be pulled on the 4th with the rest of the Event items.
S&M Cow (w/ the Big Red Barn): $750 Coins, Instant Build, Once Purchased you unlock the Material Collection for S&M Cow.

4 Hay Bales (Uncommon): Pinecone Mystery Box
8 Milk Pails (Uncommon): Pinecone Mystery Box
10 Branding Irons (Uncommon): Pinecone Mystery Box
12 Ball Gags (Uncommon): Pinecone Mystery Box
PINECONE MYSTERY BOX
You can see what Prizes are inside or what you have left to win by tapping on the green “Prizes” Icon in the Mystery Box.
Once you start the Holy Cow! Questline, you will see the Mystery Box in your menu along with other items. The Mystery Box will Require ONE Pinecone to open each time.
Items Inside:
2 Hay Bales (Needed for S&M Cow)
2 Maple Leafs (For Event Items)
2 Milk Pails (Needed for S&M Cow)
4 Maple Leafs (For Event Items)
2 Branding Irons (Needed for S&M Cow)
1 Ball Gag (Needed for S&M Cow)
Once you win all of an item you need (like for S&M Cow) they will disappear from the Mystery Box.
FYI: As with most anytime you win an item and it pops out (like collecting rent on buildings too), you need to wait for the game to “collect it” in order for your counts to be up to date and correct. That or tap on the item yourself to collect each one. In other words, DON’T open one box after another after another after another on wins for S&M Cow. They pop out behind the box when won. You got to wait just a moment for them to collect. You can see it happening up in the corner. Close out the box and double check before opening another if you’re not sure all were collected. This will help you avoid wasting any Pinecones on the Box.
HOW TO GET PINECONES?
You will notice new tasks open with Holy Cow! Questlines for Quagmire, Bruce, and Mort to Camp in the Living Room for 4hrs. The tasks are an ALWAYS drop. As you continue to earn Pinecones, your current amount will be displayed in the Barn Icon in the Lower Right Corner of your game.

Ravenous Raccoon (Decoration): 30 Maple Leafs, 2×2, animated

Camping Tent (Decoration): 8 Maple Leafs, 2×3

From the PineCone Mystery Box. So stock up on them. They come in a group of 2 or 4. 😉

Are all the S&M cow items equally likely (uncommon)? I have all of the hay bales and milk pails, all but the last batch of branding irons… but no gags (which only drop one at a time)

Thing is that there are MORE Ball Gags needed as they’re one by one. So it’ll take longer.

As soon as I had collected ALL of the other items, the gags started to drop. Have got from the last 6 boxes (leaves in the others). So all is ok 🙂

A quick FYI. I messaged TinyCo about losing 2 pine cones with the bale glitch. They gave me 2 pine cones to compensate. I dropped the name Addict Bunny. Told them she told me to do it. It probably helped. Good luck.

Three times now I’ve “won” 4 maple leaves in the mystery box, but each time only 2 leaves were actually credited to me (i.e. I have 6 leaves but I should have 12).

How do you mean? When you tap on all 3 Characters, you do not have 3 Pinecones added to your totals?

The 3 characters that do the camp in the living room quest — they were finished at different times and if I click on one, the pinecone appeared. Collected it. If it remains in my “inventory” when the others finish, no pine cones drop. I just sent the three on the 4-hour quest again and will check back later to see what happens.

Thanks. Will test it out in my games. If it happens again, report it. Every task is coded completely separate, so one should not impacts anothers drop. If you complete 3 tasks, you should get 3 pinecones… so if your total is 12, after the 3 end it should be 15. The amounts in the counter in the lower corner (if that is what you mean by inventory) have not merit or bearing on that.

I updated some apps in the Google Play Store yesterday, no FG, I updated some apps this midday, no FG, received a push notification about an hour ago.

There was an update in the App Markets pushing players to a newer version of the game just prior to the firefighters. Some players hadn’t updated to it yet, so it delayed them seeing items in their game. It is why I posted it to the top of this Event post to ensure you are on the right App Market (Google is on 1.8.6 in my devices). Just wanted to make sure everyone has all the content and patches into their game possible so it runs as intended. 😉

I really hope so, unfortunately for me, I am one of those unlucky people who’s uncommon droprates seem to be rare+ but I can’t tell the rate for the boxes just yet, I haven’t opened a box yet, they’re doing their first cone-awarding task, done in approx. 1h 15m, as it’s now almost 00:00 in Holland, I’ll be asleep by then, so tomorrow evening I should be able to have an idea about my droprates. Fingers crossed.

Just had an update in the Google Play store, there is now a Maple Leaf counter twinned with the Pinecone counter, they now share it. I have noticed that several characters have new camping related tasks but don’t earn anything. Not sure if these are just new tasks or if they are signs of more to come for this mini event.

Meg had a 12 hour task of camping I think, the icon was an orange tent. I have sent everyone on quests so I cannot currently see who does and doesn’t have one.

Pack Up, 12hrs? If that is the task, it is just part of a side quest and only has a tent icon. It isn’t part of the “Camp in the Living Room” grouping for 4 hrs. 😉

Yeah probably. I wasn’t around for Comic Con, but Star Trek certainly drained my wallet a lot, I won’t be spending that much at all for a while I should imagine, probably not the best time for that considering I’ll probably cave in and want to buy most things. TinyCo also replaced the pine cones I was shorted. I had to log off the game for them to add them back, but when I logged back in, they were there. Now all is right with the world.

I cleared the check mark once the 4 bales were acquired and the bales no longer showed up in the prize box.

I followed DE Doug’s suggestion. I force closed and when I went back in, the hay bales were no longer in the mystery box. I had received the hay bales 4 times in 6 tries. (Notified TinyCo). Will test again in 2 hours when I have more pine cones.

I was one of the people with the hay bale issue. This morning I wasted one pinecone to get an unnecessary set of hay bales. The hay bales are finally now removed from the mystery box prize list. I still have to wait one more hour before I can collect pinecones and try again. Hopefully the removal from the prize list means that I won’t get them again.

I left them a message in my game about the hay bales also and inquired about a pinecone refund. My guess is that it will never get read. My last message to them during the star trek even was about how 3 times the away mission said I won 5 clams, but never dropped. That message eventually got what appears to be auto-deleted and doesn’t show up in my messages section anymore. I reminded them in my hay bale message about that unresolved issue. I’m not holding my breath.

Anyone else think the ice capped mountain looks a little rediculous. An entire mountain thats smaller than some of the buildings. They should have made it taller.

I’m seeing a lot of people saying hay bales are still dropping, and I’ve noticed they’ve said they also hit the check mark to remove it from needed items. I think there’s a work around to this but it won’t help those who have already checked it off, when you’ve collected all the needed hay bales don’t hit the check mark above the Cow, I’m not sure if this will stop them from dropping from everyone’s game but in my game I haven’t done so and the hay bales no longer drop from the mystery box. I hope that this will help others out, until there’s a proper fix put in place.

It is just so odd for me. 3 of my games, all checked off. I do not have hay bales in the box. Cow is NOT unlocked fully in two of them for testing purposes. (Still need ball gags in one, branding in other.) No hay bales in either of those games. The one that has all the items but I did not check off the final Ball Gag I earned… only Maple Leafs in the Mystery Box. So still need people to message in so they can pinpoint the issue as it isn’t impacting all games.
They should be in now… so I expect to hear from them within the next hour. 😉

I keep getting hay bales from the mystery box despite having unlocked that task for the S&M Cow. I’ve reloaded the game several times but they still appear as a prize in my box. Wasted two of my pine cones. Daren’t spend any more. 😭

Hay bales were continuing to drop for me too. I force quit the game and restarted my device and the hay bales were no longer in the prize list. Only had one pinecone to test but I got leaves after getting hay bales on 4 of previous 5 tries.

I just experienced the extra hay bales so before anything else I checked here to find out if it was a glitch or just me and naturally The Addicts were already on top of it! I messaged TinyCo from my game as you suggested. Thank you once again for all your work helping us out I know I’ve said this before but I would not still be playing this game if not for this “silly lil blog”. 🙂

Bunny I received the message regarding the patch etc. I downloaded it and restarted my device had they given me back my lost pine cone I would have tested it but they didn’t. I apologize if this should be in WTD but I was really nice in my initial message (as I always am) regarding the issue and stated that since the event just started pine cones are precious right now. I don’t appreciate having to request they replace it when they know it was an issue and clearly I wasn’t trying to get a pine cone I hadn’t already waited 4 hours for in the first place. I understand if they don’t always replace things across the board but if I sent them a message regarding an issue and they responded regarding a fix I would think they would make me whole so to speak. After I requested it they are trying to replace it now. Also I thanked them for adding the maple leaf counter. I hope I’m making sense and I don’t want to be unreasonable either so if there’s more to it than what appears on the surface please enlighten me. Thank you again.

They won’t replace across the board on items impacting only certain players (not everyone had the too many issue). So asking is really the only way they are able to know you are missing something.
That being said, it is up to them on the response. I would suggest to maybe reply again, and ask them again. Explain how many you lost and if there is a way to replace them. 😉
Sorry, but all that actual game stuff we really can’t nor should be involved in as it is their game.

Not sure if someone said anything about this yet, but there may be another small issue for the S&M Cow. I used clams to get the remaining Milk Pails and it seems to still be in the Box. I have not tested to see if they will drop from the box (still waiting the 4 hours). I will report both issues in the game.

Of all the little events they have done recently, I like this one the best. It seems a bit more laid back, plus I like that the mystery boxes don’t make you wind up with decos and things you do not want, golden fire hydrant, but you get to choose which items you want based on how many leaves you are willing to grind for! Plus, the cow just cracks me up!

how do we check how many green leaves we have? only thing i can figure is attempt to buy a green leaf item and then if its not enough, it tells you how much you need but yeah don’t want to have to potentially buy something you dont want…there must be a place to check exactly how many you have? if not..they need to add a “counter” next to the pinecone one.

I tried deleting and reloading the game to get rid of the glitch. That did not even help. The branding iron is still in the Mystery Box as being available and I don’t need any more of them. The milk cans and hay bales disappeared from the Box inventory. I’ve reported the problem (with updates), but they seem to be ignoring for some reason.

They work regular business hours and it is only just before 10AM in TinyCo land… So if you just sent it or sent it over night, they would not have got to it yet. 😉
No worries, I am looking into it too and reported it last night… but it was late when the issue hit, so I didn’t anticipate a response til this morning anyway. I just need those impacted to message in as it is not impacting my game and they will need to access games with the issue to locate the cause. 😉

Today I was redecorating my town and put the fire acemedey inside my inventory. When I went to retrieve the building it was no longer there. I closed out the game and reenter the inventory to see if it would reappear, sac to say but it didn’t. Can someone please help me with this problem.

There’s still some randomness regarding the materials for the S&M cow due to the mystery box. But it’s nice to get something for every time you finish one of the three tasks.

There must be a glitch because I collected the 4 hay bales then tapped the check mark bubble from the list of items needed for SM cow. However I just “won” 2 more hay bales. And the option to win more are still there. I have force closed the game and they are still there. Not going to waste any more pine cones til they get this fixed. I messaged TC from the game.

I read about waiting for the the items to be counted right… But, I think this is different, even when I finished with those Hay Bales, and checked the icon above the cow, I’m still getting them on the mystery box… they just drop and when going up, there is not even a meter to show where they are needed… 😦 What a waste of time.
Honestly I’m getting SO tired of the “Get this, to open that and maybe get another thing” technique…
