TinyCo decided to drop a pretty cool update on us. Looks like I better put on my Zoot Suit and grab my Tommy Gun, cuz it’s about to go all Gangster up in here. 😉
In order to have the Update Launch, go to your App Market and download the 1.9.0 Version of the app. For those that experienced the “Idle” Consuela Error Pop Up, please force close and restart the app to clear it out. You will also need to be in district 3 and have Al’s unlocked as well.
The FatFather/ Mobster Event will End THURDSAY JULY 9TH @3PM PACIFIC TIME!!!
So far we have seen it on iOS, nothing in Google Play just yet so hang in there. Keep Checking. It is in Google now, may have to search or restart device to locate it.

TinyCo has dropped a whole lot of crime into our silly lil games. Lots to do, lots to look at, and this is just week one. Let’s take a look at the Basics…

This will be in the Top Center of your game. Cookies will be the Event Currency and used for many purchases so keep an eye on them.
EVENT MENU
Tapping on the Don Corleone Image in the lower Right Corner will take you to the Main Event Menu. There you can see all the Basics for the Entire Event.
Here is where you will see the Event Countdown Timer, Current Cookie Count, Featured Items for the Week, Basic How To, and Quick Link to in game FAQ.
We will have more on this in a separate post.
TROPHY ICON
This will directly link you to the Leaderboards. They are not active just yet, not til Monday. Once they go live, all actions prior WILL be counted into the totals. Your “MOB STATUS” is impacted by the Fedoras you collect and more. We will have more of a rundown on this in a separate post.

EVENT AREA
Over to the far right center of your game, you will see the same area reserved for Events now filled with many new and cool looking items. As in previous Events, all may not be in play right now but will be put into use as the Event Progress each week. More detailed info on each section in separate post, but here are the basics.
Here are some of the items you will see~
Copahavana: This is Don’s Nightclub. It is where you will hire the Goons needed to move up in the Event and go after your Rivals. The first Goon will cost 15 Cookies to Hire. It will take 30 minutes for them to be available. You will have to wait 30 minutes for the first to finish before a 2nd will start progressing automatically, and so on. You can hire up to 3 at a time to keep in progression. Or use Clams to speed the process. As you buy more RV’s you can increase your Goon Capacity of how many you can hire at a time by 3 per RV.
Sports Car: Not in use yet, will update when unlocks
Chihuahua Throne: Not in use yet, will update when unlocks
Mansion: Unlocks after Part 6 Mob Mentality. You will be asked to Upgrade the Mansion in Part 6, at which point you will see the PG area. Lol. Upgrading the Mansion is similar to Upgrading Levels in previous Events. As you get to the Next Level, more items launch into the game. Right now, it shows Cleveland Jr & Luchadors for Hire as the Next Phase 2. (Unlocks June 11th)
Brian Statue: Not in use yet, will update when unlocks
Stewie Statue: Not in use yet, will update when unlocks
CONSUELA’S SAFE HOUSE
This unlocks after Part 6 Mob Mentality, You will get a pop up telling you about her Safe House, once you tap “Ready” you will see an additional plot in the Event Area open up that looks like a Warehouse. It will have a GIANT ! over the Entrance.
Tapping on it, you will notice there is an Obstacle in the way you will need to clear in order to progress inside the area.
- “The Pinata Obstacle”: You will need TWO Goons to unlock it. (Goons at Copahavana Night Club). +10 Fedoras & 3 Mexican Candy (For Diabeto)
- “The Vicious Chihuahuas Obstacle”: You will need THREE Bags of Dog Food to unlock it. (Dog Food from Make Mort Retreat Cowardly- Uncommon) +10 Fedoras
- “The Forklift Obstacle”: You will need THREE Goons to unlock it. (Goons at Copahavan Night Club) +15 Fedoras & 3 Mexican Candy (For Diabeto)
Once you pass all 3 Obstacles, you will see the Sparkling Forklift loaded with a pallet of Lemon Pledge ready to tap on the Check Mark. Once you tap it, you will see the info about the Raid. How defeating Kingpin Consuela will earn you even MORE items.

- Stars: Bad Cockroaches
So you will again see 3 Obstacles in the way to get the next “RAID” complete. More details in another post coming.
COOKIE TRUCKS
These pop up around Mob Mentality Part 3 and will be driving all over your streets of Quahog. Tapping on one will trigger a pop up letting you know you need to hire Goons as well as showing the count of how many you currently have available (#/1). Still verifying Spawns on them, much like previous events they will most likely vary by Player. In my town, I saw 5 right away. Remember to Train Goons in the Night Club to attack them.
My Payout was 5 Fedoras & 25 Cookies for taking one down.
Remember, the Goons are in the Copahavana Nightclub for Hire. 15 Cookies each and 30 minutes (one at a time) to process.
CHARACTER TASKS
Take a look around as you will see there are many of those prior Event Characters that will be helping with the drops (like Star Trek ones). A complete list coming soon of those that will help. So if you got some in storage, now is a time to check.
Star Trek Characters dropping Fedoras may have been a glitch, clarifying that now along with WHO is supposed to help on the drops.
UPDATE: Star Trek Characters dropping Fedoras (Mob Rep) WAS a glitch. So you will not see them pay out.
BASIC RUNDOWN
Your goal for the Event will be to collect Cookies and Fedoras along with training goons to take down Rival Gang Cookie Trucks & Safe Houses. This will help you not only gain items within the game, but also on the Leaderboards.
After Mob Mentality Part 1, Here Comes the Don will trigger asking you to Become the Fatfather. Quagmire will start Part 2 of Mob Mentality. Peter Part 3 of Mob Mentality where you will need to earn 25 Cookies (prior earned will not count)
That is the basics for now. More still to come as we play through it all. There is a LOT of really cool stuff. WOOHOO! So keep an eye out on the site for more posts and details coming soon.

It was 125 for me, but once you buy it, it is replaced in the store by another one that costs 1,000 cookies, it is locked until a certain part of the questline.

Wondering if I can just go ahead and get everyone’s complaints out of the way right now (not as if the normal complainer actually takes the time to read any of the info you painstakingly wrote above yet alone read others questions that are the same as theirs that you already answered…but I digress)
1. When does this event start!!
2. There is no way I can get (X) in time!!! This is a clam grab!!!

Best post EVER! Simply because I support the addicts and know how amazing they are for all they do for all of us fans as fans. Yes I posted a game criticism or two, but it was all in fun or just frustration for not reaching my goal–but I always say how much fun it is. If I really wanted to hear a bunch of people complain about nothing, I’d go to a Temple Board Meeting. Bless ya, Blackshirts and may your fedoras stay lint-free. TinyCo really needs to give us more land. I had to remove most of my roads for buildings and decos I want and since the trucks take a good amount of road space they keep overlapping with each other and the animation of raiding them sort of glitches out.

Yeah my game goes on a crash-fest every time there is an event, even just the mini ones.
I really don’t like the buildings with animations. I want to put them away because everything that moves seems to make it crash, but at the same time I like that they payout money. I never know what to do.

It would be nice if TinyCo gave us some jobs for characters that cost clams, like brain damaged horse, to be useful. But never has the lame horse paid off.

Looks like a fun event, I just have a problem with a character being offered in the leaderboard. Kind of a middle finger to completionists, I think.

Do you know if they are a Character? Or just a deco? All I can say is it is not even live yet, nor does anyone know HOW MANY of each will be rewarded yet… so I say to wait before passing judgement on it all. Wait till we got ALL the details for it. 🙂

Yeah, true. I’m bad to panic at the beginning of these events. Haha! I just hope that there is a way to earn both Zoot Suit Stewie and Don if he is indeed a character. Since characters and costumes are usually what most people desire.
Hoping some of the past premium/event characters can earn too in the future.

Yes we do know how many of each only the top 10,000 get the don it says so on the leader board and on a game with over 10 million downloads on android alone not to mention ios or amazon that’s less than 1/10 of 1% of the player’s getting the don. Leader boards should not be used for in game items. They are fun when done like in the Simpsons just a way to see how you compare to your friends but they should not affect the game

I guess we’ll just have to see how it plays out. Even though the game has been downloaded by millions of people, it doesn’t really project the amount of people who play regularly. A lot of people probably just downloaded it one night when they were bored and never touched it again. Some probably quit once they hit the first paywall. (I use the term ‘paywall’ VERY loosely here.) Heck, all eight of the facebook friends I have added in-game have stopped playing entirely. And some players probably don’t play enough to be a threat; I saw folks on the facebook page complaining that there wasn’t enough time to unlock S&M Cow, and it has been one of the quickest and easiest to unlock this year. (Given, some could have just had dismal results with the mystery box.) I just hope TinyCo really stays on top of the hackers throughout the event. Would suck if deserving players missed out on a reward thanks to some of those jerks.
Still, if it is indeed only 10,000 people worldwide, then that has potential to be a little disheartening. But who knows, diligent players may see themselves in the top rankings without paying a cent. In another freemium game I play, I’ve ranked in the top 600ish of 4 million, and, unlike in this game, I am a freemium player in it. (And only around 100,000 of that 4,000,000 even participated in the ranking by the time it was over.)
I did notice it says something along the lines of “…win prizes based on your leaderboard rank…” in the description of the leaderboard rewards, so I’m thinking that maybe players will receive the prize of whatever tier they made it to, along with every prize beneath it. (Definitely could just be me overthinking that statement, though.)
But as Bunny said, let’s get all of the details before we judge! (As you can see in my first comment, I’m bad to jump to conclusions at the start of an event. Haha!) TinyCo probably has some player statistic they based the prize numbers on. (I hope)

Anyone else having glitches where tasks want to run way longer than they should? Like Lois teaching piano should be 4 hr but is coming as 16 hrs?

Is it only “visual”? In other words, does it still end at 4hrs? Or continue on? I see “visual” glitches now and then on the run down timers, but it hasnt impacted game play. They still finished on time. Let us know. Report it if you see it actually impacting the time, like it DOESN’T complete in the 4 hrs.

I had a similar glitch! Fixing the Chinese for Tricia showed 14h but it took 2 days 4 hours. And it did take that long too, really don’t understand why the game glitched so badly.

I’m still not sure. Some do complete on the correct time, but others come up with the wrong amount of time even if I click to spend clams to finish the task. Have informed tinyco.

This happened to me in the last week’s event and during Star Trek. It DID effect when my characters completed their tasks.

Having the same problem. Chris had 20 minutes left, but now he has 7hours 38mins left on his fireman task which went from a visual to an indoor task! The previous 20minutes has already expired so now have to wait out the 7+ hours to get him to do his first task! Not happy about this glitch!

Report it from your game. In the meantime, double check your app. Force close the app and restart your device. Double check app market to ensure there is not an additional patch there.

It was 24 hours after the last event. I was going into withdrawls, now for a nice long one wheee! Will there be a side trip to Sicily? Clearing some space by tucking in my fireworks display from newyears. Sure getting a lot of stuff piling up in the storage shed. Oh yah the games called quest for STUFF! I think I’m winning then. Or need a whole whack of more land to display it all. Hint hint. Thanks ladies, keep up the great work.

Ok so its a few hours into the game and already its like WHAT IS THE POINT in characters earning money when you cant use it in the events never any new buildings just same old if its a ‘free game’ why is tiny co making everything pretty much needed for a event a clam purchase been with the game since the start gonna this maybe my last event had enough 😦 tiny co sort it !!

Trek character drops were a glitch.
That makes me sad. For a second, I was hoping we’d see a ‘Piece of the Action’ skin for Kirk and Spock and/or a ‘Dixon Hill’ skin for Picard, Crusher and Data.

I hate leader boards. I hope that for those people that don’t win certain prizes that Tinyco will make those items available in a Rupert box like they did for Valentine’s Day event when you didn’t choose a certain hate or love prize because many people are going to be very unhappy if they can’t get The Godfather or any of Griffen houses for their Quahog.

Every event I get on here and read over your posts and then if I have a question I know that if I read other people’s questions mine will probably be asked/answered 100+ times because apparently a lot of people just want to immediately freak out, start questioning/complaining and not read anything in your post let alone anyone else’s. There is so much more to it than that though. We don’t even know how many of each they will be giving out. For all we know, EVERYONE could get something regardless. Just play, have fun, and when it is actually live and all the details provided… we will be happy to post and share it all. 🙂

I’m not real worried about it, just curious. To me I thought it was obvious that the top 100 people got the top prize 101 to 1000 people got the second prize and so on otherwise they would have said the top 1% got the top prize etc.. Either way so far the event seems pretty cool, drops are pretty good and collecting cookies not too hard. However every since the star trek event the game has been increasingly crashing more and more frequently. I know everyone wants more land so we can all take everything we’ve had to put in storage out but I feel that’ll probably just lead to more crashes. Anyways thanks for all the help you girls do.

Google play says 10+ million downloads (probably more on IOS) if even half of that plays then lol, I think back to BF3 never got under a million. But can’t wait to see how they do this. 😉

Early on tons of characters earned event currency, and now that’s disappeared. Here’s hoping the code for that is already in the game and it was accidentally released too early. Love having random characters earning currency and making themselves useful.

Not currency. Just Fedoras for leaderboard… it was an oops. Cookies are game currency. They added more tasks to earn those. Probably tons more coming too. Only a few hours in. 30 days to go. 😉

Eh, I misspoke I suppose. I always lump anything that isn’t earning stuff to unlock characters and skins as currency 😉 Either way, I’m always happy when old characters have at least some kind of use, whether it’s a two hour or 24 hour task. Hopefully that wasn’t a permanent glitch and was just some coding that slipped out too soon. I can’t imagine that many characters having multiple options to earn fedoras was completely random. But we’ll see over the next month for sure.

There could be sixty days, it doesn’t excuse this leaderboard. You’re basically gonna shove it the at LEAST 990,000 other players *assuming there’s that many players to begin with* and telling them only 10,000 can hope to get the one high end character.

Ummmm… there is no notations even live how they’re rewarding these prizes as the Leaderboard itself isn’t even live, along with how many of each, etc. Just take a step back a bit. Play the game. Give it time to kick in first before you decide its fate. Don’t you think? You don’t even know what they are or aren’t doing with it all yet. No need to instantly assume the worst. Have fun. Enjoy the Event. 🙂

I was really excited I thought they had listened when we said make characters we worked hard for in an event actually worth something in and around Quahog… Was pretty excited when the Star Trek characters were dropping fedoras only to be extremely disappointed for that to be taken away when I cleared them next,

This leader board thing is stupid, especially for competing, it would be better if we all could get it by working together to get the prizes. Do you think they will let us buy don and stewie with clams for those who dont rank high enough?

I’m guessing the leaderboard competition is meant to do just what you’re asking about — motivate freemium players to buy & spend clams to keep up with the big spenders. Either by purchasing the premium items that drop stuff along the way, or a mystery box/direct buy catch-up at the end.

A fair playing ground is to have nothing cost clams! Some just can’t afford them but like playing the game. If the Star Trek people don’t earn hats, who does? I could not find that info out. Tiny co really should not release things without thinking things through.

Just do basic questlines and you’ll earn them fast. Also from Character actions that earn you cookies too. Building. Decoration. Etc

Does anybody know what characters put out hats and or cookies? I have soo many characters and I have most of the buildings they have missions for in my inventory. It will take forever to see if the missions do or do not put out for each character and a big waste of time if none of them do. So we need some sort legend to tell us who puts out and who doesn’t

??? There are 4 buildings you can buy with Cookies. 3 of the Clam “buildings” are more just optional Game Currency items to add and not really needed, only optional. Same with the others. Also, it is only week 1. Wait and see what else comes into the game. We got 30 Days. 😉

Shame about the Star Trek characters being a glitch.
The leaderboard is interesting, but I foresee a lot of angry players in the future when they can’t get item X (most likely the Stewie skin) any other way than luck on a ranking board.

I updated my game around 4pm and started some event tasks, I just went back to play but I got a data load error. I can choose game OK or something like report. I hard closed then restarted my game, it is still there. Game OK doesn’t do anything so I tried the other one and it sent me to a screen where I emailed TC my game info and specifics on the error. Is there anything else I can do other than wait for a response from TC?

If tapping on the OK doesn’t fix it… and force close & restart doesn’t work… Try uninstall/reinstall and contact them if you need more help.
We got it too and tapping on OK seemed to clear it off. May be your device is getting full on Memory. That seems to trigger it in mine, low memory and/or connection

Thank you, I uninstalled and reinstalled an am back into my game. This was the first time I have ever had to do that. The only thing is, I am missing some clams. 21 to be exact. I know you guys reinstall all the time. Is it common to be missing clams? Or anything else?

2.5 hours was all it took to be disappointed at something with this event. I was so happy and grateful Tinyco had characters that earned event currency/xp just like what they did during the Valentines Day event. But alas, mere minutes after I assigned the tasks, I figured out it was a sham. Oh well.

I agree. The fact it was a glitch/too soon is even more evidence this company has serious QA issues. Here, look at all the characters that can help you get fedoras. Nope, sorry it was a glitch. Back they go with the other 75 that do absolutely nothing,

Fedoras are mainly for Leaderboards. They want to keep that part “fair” to ALL players as that is their main objective and concern with them. So unfair advantage of the Star Trek Characters that triggered payout of the Fedoras for some reason had to be stopped, otherwise if it was just a simple cookie drop, they may have kept some.
Later release was just MY thoughts. Not theirs. 😉

I think your answer isn’t fair to all the people who are playing the game from day one (like me) We should get the big advantage!! But then again.. TinyCo doesn’t let me use my other 75+ characters!

I have been playing since BETA. I feel there does need to be a level playing field on the Leaderboards. Like I said, if it was in Game Currency… that would be cool and beneficial for long time players. But since it is for the Leaderboards prizes… I do not see a fair playing field at all to start. Sorry. 🙂

Hi I noticed I sent my star trek characters on quests for fedoras and even tho it was a glitch and gone now. I still got credited the fedoras. Pretty kool and quit flipping out guys. It was a happy Lil mistake for us who caught it quick enough.

You’re right of course. Silly of me to think someone that started playing on day one and who spent hundreds of hours getting AND paying for Star Trek characters would have any advantage whatsoever over someone that started playing a month ago or decided that event wasn’t for them. Live long and prosper.

Not what I meant at all. Keep in mind I have been playing since BETA myself, so there are places and times I DO want those long times players to have an advantage. This situation, I saw more issues and problems for ALL Players than being “helpful”. It has more to do with the Star Trek Event itself than a long time player. 🙂

Using the old characters for cookie earnings would make me happy and I don’t think it would affect leaderboards other than maybe being able to buy fedora producing buildings a little earlier.
I just wish more characters were useful period. I don’t even send out most characters anymore and only hit and miss collect coins.

Oh me too. So very much. I have been on the forefront of that from day one. LOTS of conversations between me and Matt as well as Alissa and Matt on it. They are getting better slowly, still want a lil more… but better.
They just need to find some kind of “addition” to the Premiums to help us Players feel they have a bit more use AFTER Events. I could go on forever… but back to pulling stats and images for the Event. 🙂

This event looks like one of the best yet but yet again I’m really going to struggle until we are provided with more land.
My town has been full since the Ghostbusters event and every time we have been provided with a small bit of land, it has been instantly filled by items I have stored in my inventory. I’ve just counted the number of items currently in my inventory (sad I know) and there is over 250! Quahog needs to be at least twice the size.
We need a month with NO event and lots of new land. Please listen tinyco before me and many others stop playing the game.

I’m assuming that for the global leaderboard, lets say you finish Rank 3, you will get all the prizes before that as well as your Rank 3 prize? That would make sense, because otherwise most people are going to miss out on items like Zoot suit Stewie that are higher ranked.

NO. Only ONE Global Prize Per Player Awarded at end of Event. So IF they are up there, only the grouping they end in will Award them. TinyCo is gonna watch it closely.

Sorry, so do you mean that if you finished in the top group, you would only get the Gold house and the Don? If so, that sounds terrible. Every game I have seen with tournaments offering tiered rewards give you all the previous items too, if people are just aiming for a lower reward, they would have to deliberately aim to play potentially to a lower level in order to remain at a certain level which could in turn prevent them from earning other items.

Sorry, just saw that part of the post had been updated, it’s good if they can be obtained afterwards, but I still think it would be a better idea to just offer the rewards in a tiered package as most games do.

Yes. That is fair. MORE prizes to give to others. Why should one person get them all? THAT would be terribly unfair.
Prizes exclusive to those that want to push for them seems quite fair to me. That way the rest of us can just play at our own pace and get what we want out of our individual prizes and leave the competition for those that want to put into the game aggressively to get a single prize. 🙂
Competition never hurts. It only adds to the fun. That’s like saying that any competitions aren’t worth it. Everyone wants the Gold, but plays for the competition of it all too. Play for fun. Compete for fun. It is just a game. 🙂

I never said it wasn’t fair, I just don’t quite understand that, they are not physical items and so I don’t see a limitation issue. If you mean they should get them all as in own all of the separate items, if they are coming into the game and playing enough to reach those ranks, perhaps they would have earned more. Most games I have seen with tiered tournaments give the rewards out so that you get the exclusive items from your tier, and any below you. The players in lower tiers still get their rewards and again, any below theirs. The players never got rewards above their own tier, but aren’t limited to getting only the prizes from their tiers. In some games I have seen where you only get the rewards from your tier(nothing from tiers that you have passed), they then charge you real money equivalents to buy the other items. This could also limit some players, if they are not aiming for the highest prizes, they would need to play at a level to maintain a moderate level, too far and they’ll go into the next tier, too low and they’ll drop down. They could have everything prepared to finish in a certain tier, then have some people push higher and knock them into a different tier, which is something that they have no control over. The chances of that happening are lower if you retain the prizes from previous ranks. Personally I don’t think it’s very fair to have a tournament like this which could be affected so much by the amount of money spent. It favours the people who will spend more money, potentially over people who come on to the game more often to try and grind for the necessary items. I may be proved wrong, but the main reason I see for only receiving one tier’s rewards, is to allow them to then sell the rest of them for a greater profit. I’m not saying any of this because I want everything, I just cannot quite see the logic in locking the tiers without financial gain being a motive. I suppose it is fairer on this game in that a lot less work is involved, than PvP tournaments for instance, but if they made the other prizes freemium, it wouldn’t make any sense. If they were freemium, then there wouldn’t really be a point to restricting them, the only other option would be to charge clams for them. Sorry, it’s a long post, but I don’t really agree with that decision.

For instance, if there was only 1000 of each prize available, then that means only 1000 people get all ten. Break that up… then MANY people have a chance for at least one prize. 😉
It is a “Challenge” element tossed into the game. Myself, I like Challenges in a game that everyone has their own option to participate in and not forced. So those not wishing to participate don’t have to. Kind of gaming I like. Options, options, options. 🙂

Sorry, I didn’t quite mean it like that. I thought that given that the prizes are digital, they should easily be able to replicate them and give them to however many people reached that certain tier, and any other tiers that they passed. If the items were physical, I could understand the decision. Anyway, if they are available for free at the end(earned currency/items or otherwise, and provided that you were on or had passed the required tier) then it would be nice.
Anyway, the new walls are very nice and suit Vinny’s house, they also change shape depending on where others are placed with regards to them. They also give out 3 fedoras each. When I got the first fedora reward, it had to be collected, it wasn’t given to me, I had to claim it from the menu in case anyone is wondering where their rewards are.

I sent all my Star Trek characters to earn fedoras and then now 2 hours later none of them have the option to earn them anymore and I got 0 when I should have got 10 or so. I’ve sent them off again assuming that tinyco will fix it but I’m annoyed that I’ve been playing the event for 2 hours and am already facing minor issues. Looks cool overall though.

I went freemium after throwing cash at Star Trek and then the Brian costume incident. I’ll (hopefully) stick to it, as the hat glitch just proves to me that pretty much everything is event specific.
