UPDATE 6/10 1:55 PM EST: I just wanted to share with you something DIRECTLY from Matt @ TinyCo in regards to the Crashing… 

The crash-on-load issue is our top priority today, and we are working to get a fix out as soon as possible. If you are experiencing this issue, please send us an email using the “Crash FAQ” page that appears the next time you load the game after a crash. We look forward to everyone being back in Quahog as soon as possible.

So for those of you still having these issues, please report the crash issue if you have not done so already. They are still tracking WHAT devices are mainly experiencing this issue to ensure they cover them all. They are still hard at work and will not stop working on it until they get it resolved and Players back in the game. So hang in there. I know it is difficult as you want to play, but know that you are NOT forgotten about. Not at all. 🙂 

Side Note: For those of you that are attempting to use the “CRASH FAQ” page and getting a dead page or anything other than the ability to send a report, can you please send me some screenshots of what you ARE seeing? I am sending them to TinyCo. Email the Screenshots to familyguyaddicts@gmail.com Got what I needed, thanks. 

Tip: For those able to get back into the game, try to avoid the Warehouse and Neighbor/Ollie visits as it seems to trigger a crash again. Try to stick to the main gaming area until the patches are complete and in place.

UPDATE 6/10: Issue plaguing mainly Android users with Crashing is still continuing to be worked on. Just wanted to let you know. Hoping the patches are close. 

UPDATE 10:25PM EST: TinyCo Engineers continue to work in the Crashing Issues. They believe they have pinpointed the cause. Just working on patching it now. 

UPDATE 6/8: Seeing reports of some players able to get into their games by using the Basics listed by the bottom of this post. For those of you still Crashing, they are still working on it. Just keep reporting it to them, it will let them know all the devices impacted to make sure they are looking into all causes and providing patches for them.

Hey there Mobsters!

Seeing an increase of reports from you all in regards to getting to certain points in the game and getting booted out but can’t return.

 

I have been reporting all to TinyCo Tech and they are currently looking into it. The best thing to do at this time is to continue to report it so they can track the trigger points and devices having the issue.

IF you can get in your game, send them an in game message. If you are not able to, please email them right away help@tinyco.com.

Make sure you include the following information:

  1. Your Player ID if you know it/ have it (Menu/Account/ Long # Lower Right of Screen).
  2. If you don’t have a Player ID, at least send them an image of your Opening Splash Screen with the #’s that are broken on the Lower Left and Right. But Player ID will always be best.
  3. Let them know WHEN the crashing started to happen. Like what were you last doing? What triggered it?
  4. Let them know any Basic Troubleshooting you’ve tried. Like uninstall, clear Memory, etc
  5. Give them the details of YOUR device. Brand, Model, App Market Version, etc
  6. Add any additional Details you feel would be helpful.

If you would like to note the stats here, feel free to share them with your fellow Players as well but PLEASE NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR PLAYER ID ON ANY WEBSITE COMMENTS AT ALL. It will be out there for the public. Keep that between you and TinyCo and in rare cases, when we seek them to pass on directly to Tech Support to track an issue at TinyCo’s direct request.

Some have tried some Basic Troubleshooting and have been able to get in and out for a bit. If you would like, here they are…

  1. I keep getting this error message and the game will not load at all. I have restarted my phone multiple times and tried restarting the game multiple times. I have unistalled and reinstalled, the new game loads fine but when I put in my account details it tries to load my Quahog but it fails. Nothing seems to work. I can’t even enter the game. Please help.

  2. It’s now going on 3+ days with being locked out. How in the world are we supposed to catch up on the leaderboard/personal prizes?? I had already spent good money to get ahead which has been absolutely wasted. Bunny, please please petition them on our behalf to give us some kind of fedora/cookie compensation for the days we’ve missed playing!!

  3. This is beyond ridiculous! We’re now, at least, 4 days into being locked out of the game with little to no response from TinyCo except the occasional batch email. With there being leaderboards and competition this time between players those facts make it even more inexcusable. TinyCo needs to compensate those of us effected by this in some way other than their standard “We are extending the event due to the issues” because that will not make US whole.

    I am a retired veteran with severe, nearly suicidal, depression. I play this and two other games to help pass the time and keep myself occupied, along with reading on my device, but this game is the only one I truly care about. Since yesterday I can barely look at my device just sitting there, much less do anything else while they try to fix this. My life is a bucket of suck and this game WAS one of the few bright spots in it and I am now fast losing that.

    • Similar situation here.
      The only thing that has worked for me is to find another distraction.
      It’s stupid to me as I see myself typing this, to live life like this. From one distraction to another.
      What’s the alternative though?

  5. Starting crashing at the end of the loading screen yesterday, around 1pm was unable to report it to TinyCo thru their support page and was unable to play til this morning. I was 1 Fedora behind the next prize level on the leader board when I played at noon, now I’m 5000 behind,. how are players collecting so many hats? Maybe they can compensate my loss by making land available, clams will help too.

    Any progress towards fixing the issue? Notice that its on android mostly. Just wanted to know if you heard anything. I think I sent tinyco so many reports, they don’t know where to start. From the warehouse to the Griffin house, it just crashes.

  7. TinyCo continues to deliver outstanding quality. NOT.

    This has now been going on for several days and they still haven’t fixed it? This might be the final nail in the game’s coffin for me. It’s gone from my phone already and might be going soon on my tablet now that it started crashing on it after completing Pt. 6 a few hours ago.

    This is totally ridiculous quality control and engineering.

  9. I feel lucky, I guess. The only problem I’ve been having is that the game crashes if I tell Fatfather Peter to sample cookies, though I haven’t unlocked the warehouse yet so I guess we’ll see.

    Well, Mort is not dropping Dog Food at all. He has been always dropping Tickets for crafting and I don’t have enough bottle caps to craft the rest of the stuff to get it out. I even sped up his 2 hour task and still no dog food BUT only tickets 8 times in a row for an uncommon drop it should have dropped the four I needed for Phase 2 of the Warehouse. I am really getting tired of this event and fast and the first week isn’t even over yet. I am losing rank faster then you can say New York City. Tinyco told me they had pushed a patch earlier and it still was crashing. I honestly think Tinyco should disable the leader boards until they get the crashing completely fixed or it isn’t going to be fair to everyone.

  11. So ive done all this. I think its really unfair i have to put stuff in storage that ive worked hard on just to keep NOT being able to log in. I shouldnt have to do any of this except maybe clear up phone storage (which i also did). I was on pace to get don corleone and ive been active since it started. But now it all seems like a waste cuz when i DO get a few seconds (glitch free) after hours of trying to log on, all i realize is ive fallen further behind on the leaderboards. If this is how events go than id rarher just not have them. I always felt this game gives you enough time, is fair on how often items drop and treats freemium players as good as deserves. But this event is crap. I was far but because of that my game only crashes.. thats my reward. Thanks alot Tinysuck.. i mean Tinyco

  12. Sent tinyco a message through the game.
    I’ve started my second round of the raid. And when I sent three goons to clear the first forklift. The game crashed. And I’ve lost my three goons and haven’t even cleared the forklift?!

    Is this a issue with other people? It is disappointing. I’ve even reinstalled the game.

    • I had the same thing happen twice. I was finally able to get through there. Frustrating that after not being able to get in the game for hours, when it does open it ‘s still setting me back because I have to do things over again when it crashes, like to wait to get it to open after each crash and then hiring more goons and waiting. In the distance I think I can hear Peter playing that sad walking away song from the Incredible Hulk.

  13. Simple solution : Have the chicken meet peter in consuelas warehouse and fight it out til they destroy it for good, like they did to quahog ( but lets not try to rebuild ).

  16. Been locked out a day and a half, was in the middle of unlocking diabeto, and since time in this game is progress, this is a hard hit. Got responses from tinyco today saying they are working on it, but no fix. Really discouraging.

  17. Mine was fine till just now when I sent Peter on “Sample Cookies”…it freezes and I have to close and restart

Uninstalled and reinstalled the game, wiped my phones cache and all that jazz, game loaded just fine, played through the intro and reloaded my save from Facebook, game immediately crashed and won’t open again. I’ve done all the troubleshooting possible and emailed tinyco. Hopefully this issue is fixed soon, as I was getting pretty far along on the leaderboard and now have missedmost of a day.

  19. My game won’t load at all the bar starts to fill as it’s loading then closes and says it had stopped responding. Tried uninstall and reinstall but still doing same thing

  20. I have contacted them about an issue I had 2 days ago and I still have not heard back from them.

    What happened was I used 17 clams to finish 6 Goons (5 for the warehouse, 1 for truck) quickly so I could do a warehouse part and when the 5 made it to the warehouse they game crashed, causing them to vanish, not complete it, and lost the 17 clams.

    What should I do? Last time I contact them about an issue they reply very very quickly. I have no clue on what to do from here. Any help would be great, thanks!

    • Right now… wait. They are flooded with emails and messages do to the crash issue. Let it get fixed and die down, then message them. Or… do it now, but with the knowledge… you will still have to wait til this issue is resolved first before they can hop on the smaller stuff. 😉

    • Definitely email them. I had a similar issue twice now and I sent them a message via the game not expecting a quick response due to the crashing issue they are working on. They responded after 2 – 3 days with an apology and they refunded my clams.

  21. I have been crashing all day. I sent them an email earlier, but did not get a response back. This problem has essentially screwed over any chance of moving up the leaderboards. Anyone who has been able to log in for an extra day will be too far ahead for me to catch up without paying for clams, which I refuse to do, particularly for THEIR screw up.

    Don Corleone was already out of reach… And now Stewie likely is as well. Thanks, TinyCo!

    (By the way, they never seem to respond back when I email them… although the problems typically get fixed eventually. I guess they don’t care about individual customer care…)

    • It is easier to reply to thousands in one fell swoop… via their Facebook or having sites like our pass it on vs the hours upon hours of answering each email individually for an issue impacting the masses and not just individual. Sorry. I know that’s difficult, but they are TINY. Like for real… TINY. Like all handled in house by what employees they have. Unlike the MONSTER game houses that have call centers worldwide they outsource a “scripted” response to.

      • They should set up an auto-reply that let’s us know someone has read what was sent, like a read receipt. It could be as simple as sending back a quick copy/paste of “We’re working on it, hang in there”, or maybe a gif of Clem in Joe Dirt saying, “I’M ON IT!”, or even a Conway Twitty video.

        Actually, that’s it.. I think instead of that “Unfortunately, Family Guy has stopped message, it should play Conway Twitty and then go ahead and automatically try to start the game again. Heavy Sigh. Repeat.

      • How much money have they made off this game? If they aren’t willing to put any of it towards a customer service team that can handle their customer base, than what I said is still valid.

        They only care enough to keep people playing so they can make money, not enough to give good customer service. Don’t get me wrong. I’m glad they make a free game for me to enjoy, but they are still making money off me and alienating any customers is not the way to go.

        • I didn’t say I like it that way. I know they need more help. They know they need more help. They have been hiring more help off n on. Until they get “bigger” their players will experience the constraints that come with a “smaller” business running the show so to speak.

          The fact that they are at least growing is a good sign, but it will be a while before they’re like the mega outsourced call center giants like EA.

          I have issues with those massively outsourced too though. Just because there is more people there doesn’t necessarily mean you’re getting the “help” you should or need vIA those scripts. I have lots of issues with EA’s “support”. Lots.

          Short story long, this is what they are currently able to offer as a company, so until it’s changed… gotta hang in there as they grow.

          All I can do as a player is continue to suggest better ways to communicate and make it “right” and a better gaming experience for all players. 🙂

    Playing on Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, Android version 4.2.2
    I can’t get into my game. Kicks me out to the homescreen as soon as the loading bar is full. I have contacted Tinyco and received auto replies and replied to them. Tried ALL troubleshooting tips. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times. I have also been obsessively checking here at familyguyaddicts.com for ANY info on when this glitch will be fixed. I did find out that when I reinstall, I have to move the game to my SD card again from the Task Manager. Should I bother trying to load over and over? Has anyone had any luck doing that or should I just wait for a patch? I’m going through withdrawals here…..

  24. Would be nice if the menu for the leaderboard and other game notifications would not pop up at the start of the game. At least until this issue is resolved.

    I am one of the ones having loading issues on my Kindle and believe that will help since it caused the last few crashes.

    I emailed them in full detail about the problems I am having, but do not expect to hear back as they are overloaded. I rather them spend time working on the fix than trying to respond to emails.

I was able to fix my crashes on the loading screen I was able to get in by clearing the data and logging back in to my linked Facebook to get my town back (only try this if you are sure you have linked your game or you might loose your town there’s info in the links above on how to link to Facebook) but would crash the next time so the final fix for me was to clear the data then while it let me in I stored ALL my fancy wall fences from the event they seemed to be the main issue I was up to about 100 of them since storing them I can log in just fine (still get the normal crashes that happen since the game launched like when scrolling from one side of town to the other too fast and visiting friends)

  28. I was finally able to login on my android device and it was working great…until I had the nerve to try to go to Olli land!!! Now I’m back to load page taking me back to my phone’s homepage. 😦
    I know there are way more important issues in life…BUT this game is my distraction from those things!!

  29. I’ve tried everything, I can only wait on a fix, I’m not spending 10 minutes for 2 minutes of play

    I’m usually unaffected by crashes but this one finally got me, which sucks as I’m high up on the leaderboard with no clams spent,

  31. For the first time since i began playing in the beginning of December my game is not progressing past the loading screen. The status bar loads fully but then instead of going to the game it just reverts back to my home screen.

    I was literally playing the game this afternoon without incident just 30 minutes prior to the first time this happened so I don’t feel as if a memory drain would or should be causing the issue. What could have happened in 30 min?

    I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times for one time successful game plays before load failures begin again and so repeats the vicious cycle.

    I only just unlocked consuelas house 12 hours ago-is the crash bug that’s been affecting so many or does this seem like a problem unique to my device?

    • Many are seeing the Safehouse options trigger it. It is also mainly on Android devices. Waiting for any further updates from them still outside “working on it”. All I can suggest is feel free to email them your findings.

      In the meantime, you can try to see if releasing some memory will help. I have some tips in the post for crashing and lagging basics.

  34. Crashing last night, did the usual uninstall etc. to no effect. This morning I managed to run the game once, and now it’s back to crashing again. Contacted TinyCo last night but haven’t heard from them at all. Will send them another message. On Android here.

  36. Can’t get in at all in either game. The splash screen comes up, it partially loads, then it shuts down. I contacted them Saturday, yesterday and today and have heard nothing.

    • I know everyone is wanting an answer, with thousands upon thousands of emails going in each hour, there is no way to stay on top of answering all of them AND fix the issue. So they are mainly focused on fixing the issue. I already suggested to them to put up an update on Facebook at least so everyone is aware they are still working on it that does not come to our site.

      Hang in there in the meantime, I am keeping in constant contact with them… but until a patch is completed that will fix ALL players, all I can do is report what they are still doing… working on it. Try some basics in meantime to see if it helps. Sorry

  37. I’m still crashing as well the event is causing it. I think it’s the extra event area. Mine didn’t start till I clicked on her base to claim my final reward. I’m on a Galaxy S4 and I’m surprised this is happening.

  38. uninstalling and reinstalling no longer works for me, game starts to load then crashes back to home screen i have tried all the basics. it was working by uninstalling but only for 3 to 5 mins then had to start over. i am playing on 3RD gen Kindle fire hdx with just over 8 GB free space. i have emailled all details to tiny co.

  40. Still having issues getting the game to open and staying open. There was a window yesterday where it was starting to look pretty good and I was able to get in and play without much issue, but since the leaderboard went live it’s been junk again. I don’t have any common crash triggers right now that I can see. I finally got past mob mentality part 6 that was really crashy, now if I can get in the game the crashes are random. Only common one is trying to visit Ollieland, which I usually do to save before closing. Sometimes it goes, sometimes it crashes, last time Consuela said No, No, gave me an error about not being able to load friends and my Quahog turned green with no buildings but I could still see the store and coins tasks etc before crashing. And then of course after the crash it’s really tough to get back in. Right now I can get in maybe every 4-5 tries if I’m lucky, sometimes it takes hours or randomly trying. The game first started crashing on me late saturday night/early sunday morning, so really hoping it’s not much longer before it’s fixed.

    Still nothing back to any emails. I have tried to send an updated in-game a couple times while I’m in there and of course it randomly closes as I’m typing. I may have had one go through just now but it crashed right after hitting send. I did get a second box on top of the “unfortunately, ..” that said message received so hoping that’s true. Can’t get back in to see if it’s there at the moment.

  41. Seems to be another glitch. I have NOT upgraded my mansion and dont have consuela’s warehouse yet, but its been kicking me off every few minutes since early this morning. I get one or two characters assigned if I’m lucky then get kicked off. Im able to log right back in but its annoying. Also has anyone noticed problems with the leader board not being accurate. Ive got 100 LESS mob rep than one of my friends but its got me ranked almost 6000 people HIGHER than they are.

    • Remember, it takes time to refresh. So on Global, you will only see stats since its last sync. Look in the bottom right corner to see how long before it syncs again.

      • I recieved an email a little bit ago from Tinyco telling me a fix was in place. Was told to restart my phone first and all should be good. Sadly the fix did not work for my phone.

        I did reply to let them know it did not work for me. Hopefully it did work for some.

  43. Is there anything new on this? I am able to get in once a day, usually in the morning and can collect coins, retask people. As soon as I try to progress the game via Consuela’s Safe House it crashes hard and for the rest of the day. I even spent clams this morning in hopes that the issues was solved (jokes on me!) to catch up to close to where I would have been had all this not happened.

    This is supposed to be fun but all it is now is something to frustrate me and help increase my already severe depression.

      • Got an email saying to restart and went one step further and reinstalled. Same thing, totally no help. It cannot get past the loading screen. This crash has already cost TinyCo one of my friends who got me into this game and I am fast approaching that point too.

  44. crashes often still. But usually after closing and restarting the app a few times it works…unless I try to visit friends in the multiverse then it always crashes. As of 9 am central time

  45. What irks me the most is that Tinyco just really doesn’t seem to care about us. If it wasn’t for you two and your site, would anybody get any answers? I’ve followed your instructions and contacted Tinyco at the very least three times with out even getting a generic auto response. Checked the FB page and the only reference to this game breaking glitch is in the comments by other frustrated users. The Star Trek characters dropping items, which in my honest opinion did not give that much of an advantage to the player was corrected within an hour. But this glitch where we lose ground every hour is going on what 2 &1/2 days now. Thanks for letting me vent Bunny & Alissa.

  46. My crashes aren’t related to any specific activity other then it seems to happen a lot and usually while I am sending people on tasks. but has also happened while just sitting there, or hitting delivery trucks. no error. just dropped out of game.

    Have emailed tinyco my details as haven’t been able to get on for some time now. managed for a few mins last night, but now nothing works. Have cleared cache, restarted my Kindle, uninstalled etc. Very sad now at missing out 😦

    I just managed to get in for the first time in 22hrs and set some more goons into training but then accidentally clicked the multiverse button and can’t get back in again.

  49. My game is freezing then crashes at stage 3 of the warehouse raid. This happened on both devices. Kindle fire and Samsung galaxy 4. Thankfully both times it gave me my clams back for rushing past the dogs. So now I’m just going to get the dog food from Mort until the this gets fixed. How about as a sorry to players TINYCO can add another character that can get dog food as well as let us stash it for later use. I would also like more land please.

    Ever since the leaderboard was released I was constantly having crash and today I cant login to my game for more than half a day.

    I did contact TinyCo and just now was I able to login again after many crashes.

    I managed to play normally right now and I did some basic troubleshooting from time to time. Should I uninstall and reinstall again?

    • That is completely up to you if you want to try it. They are just rolling in this morning (9am PDT) so will update once I get some more details from them.
