With Phase 6 Live in our games now, some changes with it to the Mecha Astley were added. These changes will definitely help you to get further along in the Event, pick up some additional Materials that you will need like Glowsticks & Microphones, as well as drop a ton of Gold Metal Robots all over your town.
Let’s take a peek at the changes and some tips to help you take him down.
WHO IS MECHA ASTLEY?
Well, it is Rick’s Jealous Cousin Marvin inside of the Mechanical Robot of course! Did you not know that? Lol. Apparently he was upstaged at the country club dance and will not forgive Rapper Brian. Brian ruined his life!
CHARACTER ATTACK DAMAGE?
The Damage Amounts have been increased for each of the Players making an Attack on Mecha Astley go a lot further.
Rockstar Peter: 2 Damage
Rick Astley: 2 Damage
Tricia Takagaga: 2 Damage
Weird Al: 3 Damage
WHAT DAMAGE DOES EACH LEVEL NEED?
Let’s take a quick overview of the amount of Damage you will have to inflict on Mecha Astley at each of his Levels.

HOW CAN I DEFEAT HIM?
Now for a lil bit of Math Fun. Wondering how YOU can completely Defeat the Mecha Astley with limited Characters? Here are some hints and tips on just how you can do it. I will list the Level, Mecha Astley Hearts, the time it can possibly take, and the options to do it.
These are not every single possibility, but it will give you an idea of your Options depending on who you have in the game, if your Character is needed elsewhere, and what time you will need to spend to do it.
1X Level: 2 Hearts

You can see it CAN be done with just Two Characters. You just will have only 4hrs room for error, so you need to be on top of it… or try and start one of them early for the extra hit during Cool Down.
WHAT IF I DON’T MAKE THE 24HR TIMER?
You do have the option to go Premium and buy a Character OR take the “Retry Clam Buy” Option when he cools down after failing (but it HAS to be done while in the 4hr Cool Down before he reset)… or just let him just let him time out and start over again when he resets.
HOW CAN I KEEP ATTACK HIM IN COOL DOWN?
We have offered this tip time and time again in “Boss Battles”.
It essentially breaks down as you need at least TWO Characters Attacking him for this to work. When they are done Attacking after 4 hours… ONLY TAP ONE CHECK MARK AND WAIT. DO NOT CLEAR THE OTHER ONE.
Let me explain. If you have only 1 Heart left on Mecha Astley, you only need 1 Damage to Defeat him. This means that you can leave the SECOND Character Attacking him all during his Cool Down period. If you have more, leave more if you can. This will give you a head start on the next Attack as you can just tap the Check Mark the moment he recovers and the 24hr timer starts again, Then as he starts his countdown, tap and clear that other Check Mark to deliver an immediate blow and then restart the Character.
The reason also for leaving one (or more if you can) Attacking him too is you CAN’T start any new Attacks while he is in Cool Down. The game will not let you. The Tasks will not exist. Attacks have to have been started BEFORE he is Defeated and goes into Cool Down.
So use that last tap just before he is Defeated wisely. Do not waste a Character like Weird Al with a 3 Damage if he only needs 1 Damage done for a final Defeat. Use Peter or Rick instead and leave him to Attack while Mecha Astley sits in Cool Down.
This can help cut 4hrs or MORE of any of the time options above. The more Defeats on him in this last week, the more Glowsticks and other Materials you can access.
WHAT DO I GET IF I DEFEAT HIM?
Here are the payouts as listed in the game Pop Up…

So as you can see, the Higher up you go… the better the Prizes get. Continue up as far as you can as fast as you can.
Here are the Payouts that I got in my game as I cleared each one. I have stayed at the 5X mark since and will continue to stack up my Glowsticks and Gold Robots.
1X- 100 Glowsticks
2X- 100 Glowsticks
3X- 200 Glowsticks
4X- 600 Glowsticks
5X- 2000 Glowsticks
As you can see, my ACTUAL payout on 5x Level was 2000 not just 250. That is 8x the amount listed. I get 2000 every time I continue to take him out at the 5X level.
WHAT DO I NEED GOLD ROBOTS FOR?
These are going to be a good source of not only the Tubs of Grease
for Greased Up Deaf Guy, but also the Viral Hits
for the Leaderboard.
WHAT DO I NEED MICROPHONES FOR?
As soon as you Defeat Mecha Astley, the Microphones will appear and then collect to the Spooner Stage. Tapping on the Spooner Stage and selecting any Sideshow Concert will take you to a 2nd screen where you can see your Microphone total in the top right corner.
You will want to collect as many Microphones as you possibly can so you can use them for SideShow Concerts over at the Spooner Stage. Those SideShow Concerts offer a Payout of several Materials needed for several aspects in the game. They will also bring a boost to your Glowsticks. Get as many as you can as quick as you can.

Question for everyone. I just stomped 6 gold robots and only got tubs of grease and no viral hits. Hasn’t been an issue until today as I’m at 44 on my leaderboard. Anyone else experience that?

I love this event. It’s been really fun, and the challenges have kept me captivated, but not frustrated. Stoked on Meca-Astley! There is one thing I think they should have done: make Tricia TakaGaga’s damage 3, as she was a premium buy, and not a cheap one for just a costume. Weird Al’s is 3… Just sayin’!

Hey bunny, I wanted to know how many tvs u have so far so I can see where I’m at. I figure if I’m any where near u then I’m good. I have like around 49 tv but I also have 10 mechnical and wrench on standby and a ton of gold robots. Here’s the thing, I’m way ahead of the guy that’s in 2nd and he only got 9 but I have a feeling that if I’ve been saving up so are they and maybe at the last minute they’ll just let all that lose and I’ll be screwed. I did that to the leaderboard of the last event. Was in 4th and way behind them but during the last 2 days I just few right by them, even triple the guy in 2nd. So it would be appreciated if u could let me know, thx.

Nice! So on ur premium u have 60 which means I’m in good shape. Oh and I totally spend like a total of 50 clans this whole event so I’m extra happy hearing that. I’m up to 50 tvs as a freemium now. Honestly I wouldn’t be this far withothe u girls helping out so much and all the great advice u give. Thanks a bunch

Not really related to the mecha astley. ..but just curious. If I purchase Belgard now do I only have until the event ends to unlock him and he disappears if I do not finish him up? Or will I still have time after the event ends to finish gathering his items to unlock?

I’m able to beat mecha 3 times in a row with Peter and Rick. Then the golden bots only giving me coins, so I decide the deaf greased guy isn’t an option anymore. Beside I still need the new Brian for a better chance of getting stuff to unlock the deaf guy in a pop concert. So I choose to spend all my glowsticks in Belgar and maybe getting deadmau5 and that’s it.

I just have Meg doing a pop concert now, and the chance bar claims getting the hearing aids is practically a sure thing. So if you have Makeover Meg,and a few microphones (3 needed for a four hour concert), you might just set her to work on the shows. She’ll earn a lot more glowsticks also than in any task she has.

Do you think there is any chance that they will extend the event another week? I am almost positive that I will not get 55 more grease tubs in five days and think I should just focus on climbing the leader board as Stewies costume is the one I have wanted from the beginning.

Extensions are rare and difficult. Events are preplanned months in advance… so if the extend one… it messes with the entire rest of years schedule.

They didn’t extend the last event despite maybe most people being one week behind so im gonna be o ye of little faith here and say “i doubt it” and i dare tinyco to prove me wrong.

I have yet to get anything from the gold bug robots besides coins since Thursday. The coins do not help with the leaderboard. You’d thinks from over 25 kills, I’d get a few of the TV things. Messaging TC not accomplished getting any help. Coins are not even listed as one of the rewards for killing the gold bugs. I did hit the jackpot once and earned a buttload of tickets and picks; neither of which is helpful with the leaderboard.

The only issue, not as a rant, but just my struggle, is that I focus on mecha astley a little too much. Bad habit of wanting to not break the chain, while trying to work for the greased up deaf guy and keep on leaderboard. Blegh, it’s a bit of a mess right now, but I am working on my strategies on how to handle it.

I’ve been using an alarm to make sure I hit him every 4 hours since aside from not wanting to start at 1x again I really need the microphones from beating him since I still need to get lucky 4 times with Joe’s Rap concert.

Since Weird Al is a Premium and Tricia’s alt is a Premium wouldn’t it have made sense to also let Tricia do 3 damage instead of 2? Lol. Tinyco needs to do math better.

Not having the range of damage like in previous events is a huge plus. It makes planning so much easier. Also bumping Peter to 2 damage is nice. Too bad it wasn’t that way earlier.
