TinyCo has dropped another awesome Event into our Quahogs. This time we are gonna go back to those “Scary Movies” of the past. The ones that send chills up your spine. Make those lil hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Make your heart start beating a lil faster. hack hack hack hack chop chop chop chop kill kill kill kill….

- First up, make sure you have the latest Version 1.13.0 Update for the Family Guy Game from the App Market installed to your device. This will ensure you are covered for any glitch patches and any other items that the Update has coded into it.
- You need to also be in at least District 3 with Al’s Costume Shop completed.
- Play the New Event to access ALL Content. With every new Event there are “unlock points” for many items, so play through the Main Questline in order to see it all. I will Update Unlock points if any as I find them.
- If you run into any issues Upgrading the Movie Screen, Force Close your game and if needed… restart device to clear it.
WARNING: There are Timed Items in the Movie Projection Booth, like Slasher Cat. I will post more as I get to them.

SCREAM LEVELS
Scream Pointsare going to be necessary throughout the Event to move forward to the “Next Movie” each week. You will be able to earn them all around the Event.
The Hatchet Icon in the Lower Right Corner will show your Current Scream Level. Tapping on it will pull up the Main Event Pop Up Screen. Up in the top of the Pop Up will show your current Scream Point Count and how many more to Next Scream Level.
MOVIE PROP SHACK
You will find this over in the Event area in the far Right Center of your game. It will be on the Left side of the Movie Screen. Hookhand Albert will be sitting outside of the Shack with a ! over it. Essentially this is the place where you can go to create Movie Props to use around the game. Similar to past Events, there will be a Queue as well as a Capacity.
Capacity is how many of that item you can have in your Quahog in use or in Queue total. You have to clear some once you reach your MAX before you can Create more. I started out with 8 Capacity in my game

Film Reels will be used to get Prizes from the Movie Projection Booth. The first option you will see in here is trading Popcorn for Movie Reels. Watch closely because as you move up in your Scream Levels, so will the amount of Popcorn required to exchange for Movie Reels. Also there are Questline trigger points. Watch YOUR game for when it Changes.

Slasher Cat: Once you get the Pumpkin Tower Created, the moment you go back to the Movie Projection Booth and tap it to look inside, the time will start on Slasher Cat and you will only have 24hrs to unlock it.
Slasher Cat requires 100Movie Reels, so make sure you have a LOT stored up before reaching this point. You will want to be ready to get him. Once he times out, you will not have another Chance to pull him into your game. He has a 4hr task, Play with Toy Mouse, that will help drop Scythe’s. Part of Absolute Killers Clam Group. Reward of 20 Clams for completing the Group of 4 so far.
You do have til the end of the Event to get Slasher Cat, so take your time with the Pumpkin Tower and do not craft it til you are ready or if you do… don’t tap on the Movie Projection Booth.
UNHOLY NUNS
They will not appear in the game until you reach Death at the Drive-In Part 2. These are the NPC’s you will need to clear during this part of the Event. In order to clear them, you will need Holy Water Balloons.
UnHoly Nun: Requires 1 Holy Water Balloon to create a Launcher at the Movie Prop Shack. Put the Launcher in front of the Unholy Nun to clear them. You will know they are in the path of the Launcher by their appearance turning Purple in color.
Each Nun Hit dropped 10Popcorns

Holy Water Balloon Launcher: This will be located at the Movie Prop Shack. Tap on the Shack to open it up and see what you need. You will need 1 Holy Water Balloon to get a Launcher to take out an Unholy Nun.
Basically once you get a Launcher, you tap on an Unholy Nun. The screen will tell you how many you have of the Launchers, tap on it and it will take you to the screen.
You will see a “Circle” and the Launcher. Just drag the Launcher and move it around just like a Building or Decoration until you have it right in front of the path of an Unholy Nun… then wait til they enter the Circle… (they turn Purple when in Circle) and tap the Check to place it and fire away.
If you are not ready yet, tap the X and go back out of the screen.
The Unholy Nuns go all over the place, so you will have to look for them.
SLASHER CAT & LOIS
This will start appearing after Death at the Drive-In Part 1. It will randomly show up and start attacking Lois. While she is being attacked, she will not be able to be used. In other words you will not be able to assign her tasks or clear her check marks will she is being attacked. You will need to get Slasher Bait Peter to clear them off of her.
Requires Slasher Cat to be Chasing Lois & Slash Bait Peter to be free. Just tap on Lois & Slasher Cat, then tap “GO” to get Slasher Bait Peter to come clear Slasher Cat from Lois. Payout of up to 15 Popcorns

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this but I’m unable to drag my water balloon launcher around when I’m attempting to aim at a nun. It flat out doesn’t move and eventually gets stuck in the bottom right corner of my screen to the point where I can’t press the check mark to “fire”. I have to quick tap the nun and then immediately press the check mark and hope the nun doesn’t run out of the edge of the circle. I’ve hard closed the game but no luck so it’s being submitted through the in game support.

Seems that you may have to touch it just right to be able to drag it around. This may sound obvious but you have to tap and drag it by the launcher itself and not the green circle on the ground that marks its hit zone. Carry on.

Try zooming in n out of play area. Just like some decorations… it is stubborn too and can be mental when you try to drag it around. Mine did that. Or just close it out by X and try again.

Three questions I proposed to TinyCo so far about the event:
1) As this is a horror movie “slasher” subgenre related event, will Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees have any actions to improve gameplay this event? I spend money on characters that should have more value added to them. Michael Myers and Chucky are ranked well among “slasher” film franchises; however, Freddy and Jason top the list not only in popularity but box office grossings as well. Having a “slasher” film event without them seems almost a cardinal sin as they’ve already made appearance last Halloween. Is this being addressed?
2) Why is mandatory participation in the event being introduced into the game? I had Lois working on getting Paddy last night only to find this morning I couldn’t collect on her as she’s been hijacked by plot. As for new players, they too will experience mandatory participation as Lois being hijacked will prevent moving forward in several questlines.What’s being done to address this? Are events going to be mandatory from here on in?
3) Seemingly event currency is 3D glasses as there are decos and other event related items that depend on their generation. How do I find out how many I have available? I can’t seem to find a gauge or meter anywhere.
If anyone has answers to these questions or has otherwise heard from TinyCo could you let us all know? Thanks.

1. The Event just started. Patience. They’re not going to tell you ALL that will happen the moment it is released. 😉
2. It runs for an entire month, I think that is unavoidable by any player to just do away with an Event regardless. Any items going on will interfere. Whether it is other drops, etc. There will always be an alternate need for main Characters each and every Event as they are the first ones earned so main ones used.
3. 3D are not main currency. Movie Reels are. You can tap on the items in your Decorations Menu to see counts. Otherwise, as it is a side item… no real “collect” point.

You’re right, I may have jumped the shark on the first point. I do question the alternate use of the character point though on two points. Allow me to explain:
1) Some holidays are not for everyone. As much as it may be my favorite holiday for many many reasons, other’s may want to give it a miss altogether. For instance, in France, Halloween is merely an “American Holiday” and isn’t really celebrated at all save for International visitors, their hipster sub-culture that cater to them, and the stores that monetize them. Additionally, there are some that simply cannot due to religious practice, such as those of Islamic faith as it is considered a time period of idolatry worship. While true that in both cases, they do not make up a significant populous of Family Guy viewers and fewer still as players, they still make up a populous that should not be overlooked. This information and point was courtesy of an employee who loves Family Guy, is French, and does play the game.
2) Removing a character from a task that the player had placed on that task is bad for the player. Doesn’t matter why, the end result is that you’re dictating gameplay that contradicts the strategy of the player. Couple that with the removal of the availability of the character and new players suddenly find the game much harder. In the case of this event, Lois is instrumental toward getting other characters that are instrumental in this event such as Joe, Brian, and Stewie (all of which have event related actions, at present Joe is used in getting items for Peter’s skin). Additionally, Lois is a necessity to move forward on questlines to get all three of those characters. In short, though not impossible for new players, IT IS significantly harder on them. This also delays the time it would take to complete missions to get additional characters that may assist or be needed later in the event. This in turn would oblige the player to either participate or to place the game on hiatus until the event is completed.
That being said it’s not the first time a paradoxical situation has occurred within the game. Like in the Comic-Con event where Stewie was available and necessary for tasks while Mutant Stewie raged on. Any time this happens we all know what Stewie tampers with genetically and time travel wise and don’t seem to mind any continuity issues. I just asked the question because it is something I was wondering about as it has affected myself and those around me. Hope that clarifies it a bit. Clear as mud?

My point is no matter what you do, where you are, a District will ALWAYS be trumped by an Event. Always. Not the first time nor last time.
And why can’t they have players actually play their game? It’s the point they spend the time and money to create it right?
Districts are permanent. They’re always there. Can go back to it anytime.

So major bug report here: I unlocked Deaths mom’s house and didn’t immediately place it because I was putting away another house for my housing district and when I then tried to put it out it just let’s me read description. It shows it in the all tan but not the event tab, however doing the same thing for the other buildings let me still use them. I force close the game twice and did a hard reset and nothing worked. Any idea why?

Both. It’s a complete one in the crafting thing and it shows up in inventory but won’t go through. In example the pumpkin tower shows up in event stuff but not death or his mom’s house, but death shows up in all as the first thing but won’t allow me to place it

Well just wasted my first crossbow nun killing thing, cos I have no idea how to use it. It just placed and plopped out some paint balls. took so long the nun had walked off. I’m I just being dumb? cos I can find no instructions at all.

Like my lil tip in the post, you have to place it in their “path”. That means move it in front of them so they walk into it and turn purple then quickly place it. She has to be turned purple though for it to work.

I hit level 2 on scream level, but never got the quest popping up to give me a clam. Does this start at level 3? I have 20 things/machetes which looks like it just starts level 2. Perhaps I need at least one more?

When checking Facebook friend accounts, notice 3 cars in the left hand side of the even area. Those 3 cars have titles: Patty’s Car, Esther’s Car and Ruth’s Car… Character buildings perhaps? Loving this new content… At first glance a lot was going on as always in the world of tiny co, but am slowly getting the hang of it… I am sad however there is no event specific currency.. But it’s new and its always nice to have a change! Enjoying your posts bunny!

If you tap on items at neighbors, it usually gives you hints of who is coming to the game. If you also check FaceSpace, you will see shadows. 😉
As far as currency… you will need a lot of Reels.

He is my main focus on this event, and that was my concern before the event started too. No 10,000 cookies or glowsticks required, so it looks doable in 5-weeks for sure. Probably much less time actually.

I have all the district’s. I’m on kindle, I have tried restarting my device, along with deleting and reinstalling. There was an update available, I updated, the loading screen is the new one with the drive in, but no new content.

Not a complaint, mind you, but… Collect water balloons to cue up a launcher, launch balloons at nuns to collect popcorn, trade in popcorn for movie reels to get murder point to collect cigarettes for Peter. Whew! Lol

??? I assume you are requesting info on the Weekly Challenge? If so, you should know by your previous questions… Mondays. Challenges usually hit Mondays. They won’t dump it the moment a new Event goes live. 😉

If I’m understanding this correctly (big “if”), there’s no point in taking Lois out of storage until I have Slasher Peter, since her only contribution is when he saves her from Slash Cat’s attack. Which makes it really disappointing for that to be one of the few ways to get popcorn buckets, and you need like a billion popcorns to turn into film reels to get the stuff to get the other stuff needed to unlock Slasher Peter. So…even with spending clams on the popcorn thingy, it’ll be some time before I’ll get to enjoy Slash Cat attacks. And you know how I like those feline features! Sure, it’s probably not enjoyable for Lois, but that’s her fault for not contributing any item drops.

Not a big fan of horror flicks, but I do like the new fall foilage. *chuckle* I will also try and get death and slasher cat, just because I love anything cat related, and well, death is a main character.
This one will have to be freemium as I just got in a car accident and will need to buy a new car, and I was not quite prepared to have to do that just yet! I am curious to see how that will go, but at least I will not be tempted to buy characters!

For those having problems completing Part 2 of Drive At The Drive In because you can’t click on the movie screen, you have to reboot your game and for the Skull sign to appear over it for you to click.
I ran into this, immediately contacted TinyCo and got a response. They said some devices will have this problem.

How does TinyCo expect us to place more buildings and decorations without giving us additional room? I need at least 20 or so more spaces to place all the stuff neatly.

Just like in life, just because you have a TON of items does not mean you have to place every single possession out for view. It is called The Quest For Stuff for a reason. You will continue to get LOTS of stuff. Store some away. 😉

We shouldn’t have to store stuff that we’ve earned. The Simpson’s manages to provide enough room so why can’t Family Guy??
The space issue is a problem to every single person I know who plays. It means that things we’ve bought with real money or lots of our time are uselessly sitting in the inventory and it puts you right off buying more items.
For what this game costs to play I know for a fact that TinyCo can afford to provide appropriate space. The fact that they don’t doesn’t mean they can’t – it just means they won’t.

You are actually incorrect. As I write for the Simpsons and have been playing that one since launch too… I can very much guarantee they have limits and issues if you do not store items. 4500 warning & 7500 max. They also have been out 3+ years vs Family Guy 1+ years. There are MANY glitches and issues on TSTO due to memory and space issues. We run into them ALL THE TIME. 😉
Instead of assuming you know how a company functions, take a step back and REALLY look at the game. Not just this one either. ALL App Games. You are playing on devices that for the most part were made to be mobile. Take pics. Even take phone calls. They are NOT in home gaming systems nor PC’s so you will have many many many limits. Those are the items you will have to deal with and sacrifice when it comes to using a Mobile Device to play a game. Cost has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with it. It is the way many devices on the market handle the game and whether it can allow Players to play and enjoy the game with functionality.

I played TSTO for a bit over a year until it’d worn off on me. And I can attest to a few things. One, like Bunny said, TSTO’s been out longer and so has more space ATM than FG.
Also, maybe they’ve made advances since I quit, but I recall the Simpsons animations being WAY less detailed overall and fewer per character than FG. I mean, how many skins does Peter have and each one has at least a couple visual ones?
Then you have all the animated buildings and decos. TSTO was honestly a good bit more dull IMO overall in finish and detail. That saves memory and processing by a TON.
I enjoy FG more even if my family doesn’t get it 🙂

I totally agree with you an the space issue as I’m sure many more would also. I have played this game since the start and as the game progresses so does my annoyance with the tiny bit of room that I have, so keep rearranging so that my O.C.D doesn’t take over. Yet saying that, my Simpsons town is so big that I don’t really enjoy playing it that much anymore, it’s more of a chore now.
Overall though I enjoy the quest for stuff and play it more than once daily. Some of the events are beyond unrealistic to complete without clams or sleep deprivation though. And the fact they do not utilise the characters properly.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion! That is why every single one of us is totally unique.

This issue is raised at most of those FAQ sessions they do. I don’t think I’ve ever read a reply other than, we’re looking into it/working on it/testing some things. I’m hoping they do a separate map, like they did for the Enterprise in the Star Trek event. Or something… soon. For those that are city builders rather than collectors, tearing down and rebuilding is fun only to a point. Then I’d like to enjoy what I built and add to it. I don’t know if TinyCo has ever officially said the solution is to, “store it,” but if so, that would be good to know so I can stop hoping. 🙂

It is The Quest For Stuff… and more and more stuff you will keep on getting. So there will be a point you have no option but to store for the sake of your device and limited space. More space will just add more items to the game and possibly create more crashing and lagging as it is the rendering of those thousands of items by your devices that put the strain on them.

I just place everything in storage (buildings, decorations and characters) except for what us being used in an event. It may make my town less fun, but it is way easier to play the events. I do not need any more money so I have found it helps with lag and the ability to complete quests.

I’ve only been playing since late Star Trek and haven’t even unlocked Mayor West and like randomness so everything gets squashed together wherever it fits – and even I have run out of room… I finally took Bunny’s as-usual excellent advice and just stored a bunch of stuff. I just chose buildings I didn’t like much or could do without for a while. I’m a Quahog millionaire thanks to all the events that use special currency, so don’t need the coins. Now I have a big clearing where I can put anything for this event. If they’re ugly, they will go right into storage to keep room for the next event. It’s hard to take that first step if you’re used to saving everything in real life like me, but they’re not gone forever. Free storage! That’s a big improvement over real life- at one time, my brother was paying $300 per month to store his useless boxes of useless stuff. You can always take the game stuff out again anytime you miss them, don’t even need a car to get to the storage facility.
