TinyCo has dropped another awesome Event into our Quahogs. This time we are gonna go back to those “Scary Movies” of the past. The ones that send chills up your spine. Make those lil hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Make your heart start beating a lil faster. hack hack hack hack chop chop chop chop kill kill kill kill….

ENDS THURSDAY NOVEMBER 5TH @3PM PACIFIC
- First up, make sure you have the latest Version 1.13.0 Update for the Family Guy Game from the App Market installed to your device. This will ensure you are covered for any glitch patches and any other items that the Update has coded into it.
- You need to also be in at least District 3 with Al’s Costume Shop completed.
- Play the New Event to access ALL Content. With every new Event there are “unlock points” for many items, so play through the Main Questline in order to see it all. I will Update Unlock points if any as I find them.
- If you run into any issues Upgrading the Movie Screen, Force Close your game and if needed… restart device to clear it.
WARNING: There are Timed Items in the Movie Projection Booth, like Slasher Cat. I will post more as I get to them.

You have til the end of the Event to earn the items and get these Characters.
SCREAM LEVELS
Scream Pointsare going to be necessary throughout the Event to move forward to the “Next Movie” each week. You will be able to earn them all around the Event.
The Hatchet Icon in the Lower Right Corner will show your Current Scream Level. Tapping on it will pull up the Main Event Pop Up Screen. Up in the top of the Pop Up will show your current Scream Point Count and how many more to Next Scream Level.
MOVIE PROP SHACK
You will find this over in the Event area in the far Right Center of your game. It will be on the Left side of the Movie Screen. Hookhand Albert will be sitting outside of the Shack with a ! over it. Essentially this is the place where you can go to create Movie Props to use around the game. Similar to past Events, there will be a Queue as well as a Capacity.
Capacity is how many of that item you can have in your Quahog in use or in Queue total. You have to clear some once you reach your MAX before you can Create more. I started out with 8 Capacity in my game

This will be located to the Right of the Movie Screen in the Event Area. Here is where you can turn in Materials to gain Film Reels.
Film Reels will be used to get Prizes from the Movie Projection Booth. The first option you will see in here is trading Popcorn for Movie Reels. Watch closely because as you move up in your Scream Levels, so will the amount of Popcorn required to exchange for Movie Reels. Also there are Questline trigger points. Watch YOUR game for when it Changes.

WARNING THIS WILL BE TIMED FOR 24HRS!!!
Slasher Cat: Once you get the Pumpkin Tower Created, the moment you go back to the Movie Projection Booth and tap it to look inside, the time will start on Slasher Cat and you will only have 24hrs to unlock it.
Slasher Cat requires 100Movie Reels, so make sure you have a LOT stored up before reaching this point. You will want to be ready to get him. Once he times out, you will not have another Chance to pull him into your game. He has a 4hr task, Play with Toy Mouse, that will help drop Scythe’s. Part of Absolute Killers Clam Group. Reward of 20 Clams for completing the Group of 4 so far.
You do have til the end of the Event to get Slasher Cat, so take your time with the Pumpkin Tower and do not craft it til you are ready or if you do… don’t tap on the Movie Projection Booth.
UNHOLY NUNS
They will not appear in the game until you reach Death at the Drive-In Part 2. These are the NPC’s you will need to clear during this part of the Event. In order to clear them, you will need Holy Water Balloons.
UnHoly Nun: Requires 1 Holy Water Balloon to create a Launcher at the Movie Prop Shack. Put the Launcher in front of the Unholy Nun to clear them. You will know they are in the path of the Launcher by their appearance turning Purple in color.
Each Nun Hit dropped 10Popcorns
Holy Water Balloons (ALWAYS): Peter Desecrate Graves OR Mort Lose Cell Phone Signal OR Chris Check Out the Basement OR Bonnie Wear Inappropriate Shoes OR Crazy Joe’s Car Wash
Holy Water Balloon Launcher: This will be located at the Movie Prop Shack. Tap on the Shack to open it up and see what you need. You will need 1 Holy Water Balloon to get a Launcher to take out an Unholy Nun.
Basically once you get a Launcher, you tap on an Unholy Nun. The screen will tell you how many you have of the Launchers, tap on it and it will take you to the screen.
You will see a “Circle” and the Launcher. Just drag the Launcher and move it around just like a Building or Decoration until you have it right in front of the path of an Unholy Nun… then wait til they enter the Circle… (they turn Purple when in Circle) and tap the Check to place it and fire away.
If you are not ready yet, tap the X and go back out of the screen.
The Unholy Nuns go all over the place, so you will have to look for them.
SLASHER CAT & LOIS
This will start appearing after Death at the Drive-In Part 1. It will randomly show up and start attacking Lois. While she is being attacked, she will not be able to be used. In other words you will not be able to assign her tasks or clear her check marks will she is being attacked. You will need to get Slasher Bait Peter to clear them off of her.
Requires Slasher Cat to be Chasing Lois & Slash Bait Peter to be free. Just tap on Lois & Slasher Cat, then tap “GO” to get Slasher Bait Peter to come clear Slasher Cat from Lois. Payout of up to 15 Popcorns

Hey PsychoDuddy, mine does the same thing, but as Bunny says, it’s a bit tricky, I missed my first 2, got the next 2, so it’s an easy does it process. I’m on an iPhone 4s, I’m gonna try putting stuff in storage and see if that helps but I’m just guessing here!

Thanks Bunny, but for now, I am going to keep pretending I have a delicate touch and my fingers are NOT big an clunky! Haha!! I did however slow my role and took some time with the next go rounds at the nuns and can proudly report success!! I would tap the nun, tap the launcher and if the nun was purple tap again on a semi hectic press/presspress action and so far as a freemie, I have Murder point and just got Hot N Muggy Coffeshop, I figured my best bet would be let the buildings and few characters not needed for holy water to concentrate on Slasherbait Pete, aiming to achieve Death in my game. One more thing, since yall lookin for some new talent, what would be the odds of doing a The Freemium Experience for the game( I don’t trust my writing skills enough to apply but you never know and if someone better took that idear wouldn’t hirt my feelings either!)

Quick question….. the 3-D glasses….. where do I find how many I have? Usually in the events the characters can be sent on task to help earn event currency. Is this not what’s going on this year? I was also looking at murder point, I think it’s weird that Tinyco put only 1 way to collect something. Especially when you have to collect popcorn first to get it. Then murder point takes 4 hours and a chance at 2 of them. That would take at least 7 times for 4 hours each.
I am so looking forward to this event. I love Holloween and I love horror films!!!!!! I can’t wait to see how the game progresses!!!

Cannot drag aiming circle for the balloons. Only way I can get it to move is by dragging the entire window. Then it’s off to the side with the check mark out of frame until I move the window over again…..anyone else? Using a LG G3… maybe I’ll try it on FB later..

It’s a bit tricky. You have to tap it just right. Took me a few tries to get hang of it. Try tapping right on the Launcher but avoid the X and Check.

I get that you are having issues with internet connection atm.
Here is my issue.
I am one of the people who turned in 5 reels to get “Muder point” and the screen narrowed like it was going to give me the item then nothing,, the “Murder point” is checked off but no building ,, so I am up ” Up a particular type of creek without a paddle”
I get that many others have reported the same thing, so I send in a report to Tinyco explaining in very great detail the very problem I am experiencing.
I listed my device,, I listed exactly what I did step by step,,inch by inch in very good detail so that they would know exactly what the issue is,, and what I did to try and fix it on my own.
Tinyco asks people to give as much detail as they can so that they can better help us with the issues we are having.
Very surprising to me, I got in response from them in less then 1 hr.
Here is there response. (word for word)
“A number of players may encounter issues when tapping on the movie screen. Please force close the game in order to fix this.”
This has absolutely nothing to do with my issue, the issue I am having has nothing to do with the movie screen.
I was very happy to get such a quick response from Tinyco, but the fact that they did not even seem to read my post and just issued a standard automated response really does me no good at all,, do they actually have people that read peoples posts? or do they have an automated system that just scans for the words “Having an issue” and those words just trigger an automated message response?
this isn’t a WTD post,, I am actually asking if you know,,or don’t know how Tinyco responds to players asking for help.
You and Alissa seem to be able to get your questions answered very quickly and accurately, did I just get a random automated response,, or did I just get an employee that didn’t bother to read my post?
very frustrating when you go out of your way to explain things very clearly and with great detail to make the Tinyco peoples job easier,, and then they just give you an answer completely unrelated to your problem.

They may have done what I do occasionally. .. respond to wrong person. It happens on occasion with thousands of meaaages in front of you. Most they’re having to place it in Inventory for you. Just message back. And I’ll forward you’re other concern.

I don’t really like the sounds of this, I know it is way too early in for a proper judgement, I just don’t really like the concept of this event. I am sure it will grow on me as most events do. I think I’m just a little disappointed as last year the event looked great. Lots of the items and characters looked fantastic and I love Ghostbusters. Horror movies aren’t appealing to me. I was quite sad as I joined just as it was ending. I can’t get on this weekend, I don’t want to be too far behind, but I don’t think I’ll be too upset at missing things. That being said, I would like Death as he would be a good character to have. As always, thanks for all of the work and clams put into the guide! I’m sure it will be very helpful!

I just wanted to say that tinyco should let us reuse the old HallOwen characters from last year just to reward the loyal fan that’s been with them that long. Those characters aren’t cheap either and to have them not helping this hallOwen makes me think twice if I should get any for this year because after the event is over its TOTALLY useless. Last year I bought them with the thought that maybe it will help me for this year. I’m not expecting a lot but maybe have them at least help with collecting an item for one character or skin, its not a huge advantage or anything over the newcomers. Come on tinyco, step it up.

I was thinking the same exact thing. For example, I have had Freddy and Jason running around my town for a long time now and the only thing scary about them is how useless they are. The same goes for every premium character that I have. I am hoping that this event puts them to work.

I can’t clear nuns. Crashes the game every time I try. Reported it to TinyCo. No response. Tried restarting my phone, tried reinstalling the app. No bueno.

I am having the same issue. My town is somewhat pretty full but not completely full. I’ll clear out some more space (already did the 20 objects quest) and see if that helps.
It crashes every time for me so far since the start of the event. I did report it to TC the other day, before the clear 20 objects quest came out… maybe that was the fix lol…
I’ll report back once it stops with how much I had to clear out. I’m at a million plus coins so I can probably get rid of some of my coin building blocks.

I ended up having to clear out about 50% of the town to get it to stop crashing when killing the nuns (50% of usuable lamd space open). It sometimes still crashes with the crossbow, usually if it gets placed on top of a building and I try and move it off, it will crash.
If I place the cross bow on an open green space there are no issues or crashing.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but anyone else find it odd that funny cigarette is only from the building? When that happened in Peterpalooza with Ricardo’s shorts it turned out to be wrong and characters were added. Looks like maybe the same thing since I’ve got everything for Peter and only 2 cigarettes.

Not sure if this has been answered. But I have not had a chance to read all the comments. I see that you need 100 film reels to get slasher cat. But does that mean that I need all the reels to collect all the items before slasher cat in the concession stand? There are about 6 items I need before slasher cat is available from what I can see. Or are the 100 reels the total you need for all the rewards leading up to slasher cat? Does this question make sense?

Does anyone know if multiple unholy nuns can be taken out with one launcher?? I have tried to get two lined up at a time but not had any success, but this may just be my rubbish shooting skills. Thanks for your info bunny, reading your tips before I loaded the updated game was very useful.

I’ve been trying to do it, but the best chance I had I missed when they both walked behind the Lighthouse and I wasn’t ready.
Also crossbow’s target zone is also a bit wacky. A good portion of the hit zone is under and behind the crossbow where you are able to drag it.

Has anybody been able to get 2+ nuns with one launcher? Sometimes they get close enough to each other. I haven’t been able to move/drag the launcher yet so I have only been able to get one nun at a time.

I would have been able to try it, if it wasn’t for the extremely horrible controls. As it is, I am lucky to get 1 at a time.
Don’t get me wrong. I like FGTQFS. I do remember way back in the day though, when they used to judge video games on a number of things. One of these was control. This was back in the NES area. The thought was, how much is the game difficult because it asks a lot of you as a player and how much is th game difficult because the game isn’t doing what you are asking it to.
I think as far as the shooting nuns part, this game is much worse than any 8-bit NES game or any other game I have ever played in my entire life. I think it goes way beyond a fail.
Still, I like it this game and I especially like the addicts!

Just checked out Facespace and noticed some of the characters that are coming with this event, and I can’t wait! I’m most looking forward to the whole Death family, Lois’ brother Patrick. I also can’t wait to see what horror movie characters we get as the event progresses, I already think this is going to end up being my faveourite event they’ve done so far!

I also had to buy the house of masks. Not for the drops but the building itself is awesome. If you look up close you can see Satan, Evil Monkey, Fredy, Jason, Santa, Roger from American Dad, a chumba wumba, a banshee from last years Halloween event, Dr. Suisse hat, ernie the fighting chicken. Love all the details.

Don’t aim. You wait for them. Put it in front of them. Let them get in the circle and turn Purple THEN tap the Launcher check mark.

Those xbows are terrible. I already wasted 3. Probably uninstalling this game.. they have no tutorial and if slasher cat is chasing Lois and I only have 24 hours to clear, I can’t get Peter that fast. Fail.

Re-read this post please, the cat chasing Lois is NOT timed the one in the projection booth IS timed. All the info is right in front of you and this event is barely 12 hours in take a step back and breathe.

Also, carefully before u grip about things. Slasher bait Peter and slasher cat are 2 different character. Only slasher cat is 24hr anD bunny was nice enough to give us a heads up on that (thx bunny).

I’m stuck on part 2, tapping the screen like crazy and nothin is happening!! I read other comments about this and you refer them to the main bullet points, which I’ve gone back and checked and I can’t actually see which bullet point is the one that applies to me??

I can’t get through the second task. It is tap on the movie screen and check out something. The checking out went fine but I am tapping the hell out of the screen and it isn’t doing anything at all. Anyone else had this problem?

It started working for me when I powered down my phone and powered up again. I don’t think just a hard quit fixed it for me.

Is anyone else having issues with the nuns wandering all over town? Do I need to add more street’s or are they just not bound to the streets like most characters?

Also I think the amount of popcorn needed for reels goes up as you progress through the quest line as I just finished the next main quest line and the amount jumped from 30 to 35 but I am still only at scream level two.

I had been on level two and it was still 30 as opposed to 35 until I completed the next part of the main quest where it asked me to view the concession stand whereupon it changed to 35.

I’d like to see the unlocked characters from last Halloween’s event (Kreuger, Voorhees, etc) get new actions to participate in (and help with) this event.

When my phone was broken for months, so probably around May/June, maybe earlier when I did what I’m about to say, I used Bluestacks (an Android emulator you can download). Not sure if Family Guy was on Facebook back then, if so, didn’t learn until today, but though Bluestacks runs the app slower than Facebook did, if Facebook messes up a lot/doesn’t work, Bluestacks is always something you can fallback on. It may have extreme lag, but if push comes to shove, it’ll get the job done on your laptop.

I’m sure they had this all planned long before your last WTD, Bunny, but plenty more sequencing again here:
Do tasks to earn balloons (thankfully ALWAYS)
Craft balloons into Launchers
Use Launchers on nuns to get popcorn
Exchange popcorn for movie reels
Exchange movie reels for prize buildings
Buildings drop items for Peter and Death
In fact one of the collection items for each can ONLY be got from a building!
My tactics for this one so far: I usually start events by trying to get the new chars/skins first as they usually help out for other things, but in this case a quick calculation shows I should be collecting balloons from all possible chars all the time
In fact it appears to be impossible for a pure freemium player to “finish” this phase in the first week:
Total movie reels required: 216, but you can only exchange in multiple of 5, so 220
Popcorn required (assuming 30 popcorn->5 movie reels: 1320
Unholy nuns to defeat (at 10 popcorn per nun): 132
Number of launchers: 132
Number of balloons: 132
We have 4 freemium tasks for balloons: 33 per char
The task is 5 hours, so you can get in 4 per day: 8.25 days
As I say, this assumes 30 popcorn->5 movie reels. Once you hit level 3 things get worse.
I think Death is going to be a long haul struggle for freemium. You need 8 Extra rare, so we really need the Slasher cat to help out, but you won’t get him until next week. You also won’t be _starting_ to collect Brimstones from the Pumpkin tower until next week either, since you won’t want to place the pumpkin tower until you have enough movie reels for slasher cat
Having said all that, I’m liking it so far, and looking forward to see how it pans out.
Of course, mega thanks to Bunny, without which the above tactical planning would not be possible!

I would not overthink it too much… if you look it will NOT just be Popcorn to exchange. More options will unlock along the way. Also… it is a month long event… no need to unlock it all in first week. 😉

Thanks for working out the math on this! Last night I was just feeling boggled thinking about needing a gazillion popcorn bags with so few ways to get them, and your breakdown helps me set expectations and not get so frustrated.

Not sure yet how to use the launcher. For me it does not appear to be functional. There is no fire button? And it doesn’t appear purple. Maybe I’m just not understanding it yet.
Also can we get more than one poppy building?
Ps any good deals going on amazon like you’ve posted in the past?

When you tap a nun the launcher window opens, THEN you tap the where it shows you how many movie props you have in the lower left. That pulls up the target circle to place.

Nothing whatsoever to do with this game nor this post. It is the money exchange and it is done by Apple/iOS. It’s due to the comparison of US dollar to currency in your area. Those are all standards set and handled by the governments and the App Markets providing services outside the US to you.

Is slasher cat from a movie or from a random family guy episode? I’ve never heard of that character nor “Hookhand Albert.” Are they both just made up game characters similar to King Butt? Also who is the second “absolute killer,” I cannot recognize the outline but it looks like he’s wearing a pope hat. But that can’t be right…

Am I missing something here or is my only choice to spend 250 in clams to buy the popcorn building? To get Slasher Peter you need Funny Cigarettes which you can ONLY get from Murder Point which requires 4 film reels meaning you have to get 30 popcorn buckets which you can only get by using Slasher Peter to save Lois or by using balloons on Nuns (which have yet to appear) and you have to have the launcher to use the balloons which requires popcorn to get.

Just keep playing until you start to see the Nuns wander. They do NOT need popcorn, they need Balloons.

I really hope they make it so nuns stick to the roads or give us more land soon. I have so many buildings that if they arent on the roads (which I have so little of) I cant see them.

Ok, in order to get Slasher Bait Peter you need 14 Funny Cigarettes…
To get funny cigarettes you need Murder Point
To get Murder Point you need 4 film reels
To get film reels you need popcorn
To get popcorn you need to save Lois from the Slasher Cat
To save Lois from the Slasher Cat you need Slasher Bait Peter
I know you can accomplish the Peter Costume with the slower water balloon process but I just found the above chain hilarious.
