Hey there Slashers!
Many times with the New Events I see PANIC. Mostly due to everything is new and no one knows just yet how to get the hang of what is going on. Well, just as usual, here to help in anyway I can with some Basic 101 and detailed breakdown of HOW TO on the aspects of the Game Play.
For this post, I will be diving into the Movie Projection Booth.
Let’s take a look at the Movie Projection Booth, what at is inside, and how it will help you along in the game.
WHERE CAN I FIND THE MOVIE PROJECTION BOOTH?
You can see the Movie Projection Booth located close by the Entrance to the Event Menu Area.
WHAT IS INSIDE THE MOVIE PROJECTION BOOTH?
The Movie Projection Booth is full of Buildings, Characters, and Building Facades that will help you during the Death at the Drive-In at the Event.
Let’s take a closer look at each of these 8 items on Page 1.
Murder Point (Building): 4
Movie Reels, Earns $30 & 1
Scream Point every 4hrs, Chance Drop of 2
Funny Cigarettes, Sits on a 8×8 base. Looks really cool in a “Horror Scene” area.
Hot & Muggy Coffee Shop (Building): Cost 10Movie Reels, Earns $45 & 2Scream Points every 8hrs, Chance Drop 1 
Football, Sits on a 4×6 base. Looks cool in a Death area, like next to Death format records, funeral homes, or even graveyards.
Jack O Lantern Moon Bounce (Building): Cost 12Movie Reels, Earns $40 & 2Scream Points every 8hrs, Chance Drop 2
Varsity Jacket, Sits on a 3×4 base. Looks cool in any Halloween Themed area, playgrounds, or even backyard of Daycare.
Death’s Mom’s House w/ Death (Building/Character Combo): Pays out 96 Scream Points when placed, Cost 24Movie Reels, Earns $20 & 1Scream Points every 2hrs, Chance Drop 1
Pomade. Looks cool in any house area or Haunted area.
***** WARNING: Placing Death’s Mom’s House will start a Bonus Offer for an Extra Balloon Drop Task for Death. THE BONUS OFFER WILL BE TIMED FOR 24HRS!!!****
Slasher Cat Cave (Building): Cost 20Movie Reels, Earns $45 & 2Scream Points every 8hrs, Chance Drop 2 
Souls of the Dead, Sits on a 3×4 base. Looks cool in any Moutain type scene, even next to Murder Point.
Quamire’s Haunted House (Building Facade): 26Movie Reels, Earn $20 & 1Scream Points every 2hrs. This is a Building Skin for Quagmire’s House so once you tap on the house drop down and place it, you will see the new cover for Quagmire’s House… which is a 6×8 base. Looks cool in any “Horror” or Halloween area.
Pumpkin Tower (Building): Cost 20Movie Reels, Earns $20 & 1Scream Points every 2hrs, Chance Drop of 2
Brimstones, Sits on a 2×2 base. Looks cool in any Halloween themed area.
*****At this point, you will have created all the 7 items in the Movie Projection Booth BEFORE Slasher Cat… so make sure you are ready BEFORE you tap on the Movie Projection Booth again… WARNING SLASHER CAT WILL BE TIMED FOR 24HRS!!!****
Slasher Cat: Once you get the Pumpkin Tower Created, the moment you go back to the Movie Projection Booth and tap it to look inside, the time will start on Slasher Cat and you will only have 24hrs to unlock Him.
Slasher Cat requires 100Movie Reels, so make sure you have a LOT stored up before reaching this point. You will want to be ready to get him. Once he times out, you will not have another Chance to pull him into your game. He has a 4hr task, Play with Toy Mouse, that will help drop Scythe’s. Part of Absolute Killers Clam Group. Reward of 20 Clams for completing the Group of 4 so far.
You do have til the end of the Event to get Slasher Cat, so take your time with the Pumpkin Tower and do not craft it til you are ready or if you do… don’t tap on the Movie Projection Booth. His full profile will be in another post.
HOW DO I GET THE ITEMS IN THE MOVIE PROJECTION BOOTH?
All of these items will require Movie Reels to acquire them. 216 Movie Reels Total.
Movie Reels are currently ONLY available by trading in Food/Concession Items to the Concessions Stands. For Week 1, you will exchange Popcorn earned from taking out Unholy Nuns or Clearing the NPC Slasher Cat from Lois for 5 Movie Reels.
The Current Exchange Rate is as follows…
- Scream Level 1 & 2: 30
Popcorns for 5 
Movie Reels - Scream Level 3: 35 Popcorns for 5 Movie Reels
- Scream Level 4: 45 Popcorns for 5 Movie Reels
- Scream Level 5: 60 Popcorns for 5 Movie Reels
- Scream Level 9: 80 Popcorns for 5 Movie Reels
- Scream Level 20: 105 Popcorns for 5 Movie Reels
Now a few important things to note, the increase is ALSO triggered by Death in the Drive-In Part 6. So if you hit that point BEFORE you Level up to Scream Point Level 3, you will still see an increase to the 35. Additionally, I am on Scream Level 5 and done with the questline and I can see BOTH 60 & 80 as an option, but I can still use the 60 all I want.
Also, before you PANIC at the amounts on the Exchange keep in mind this is a LONG event and as you can see when you are in the Concession Stand Pop Up Screen… Popcorn is NOT the only item you will be able to Exchange. So take your time to earn what you can this week and see what the Next Phase 2 offers for Exchange. Not to mention it takes a LOT of Scream Points to Level Up, so that is going to take you a while too.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I UNLOCK THE ITEMS?
When you have earned enough Movie Reels to get the item that is next in line in the Movie Projection Booth, you will see “GET” under that item. Tap on “GET” and the Pop Up Info Screen will show you the stats for the item, including a Check Mark over the amount and instead of a Clam Purchase Amount you will see “GET”.
Tapping on “GET” will start a cut screen of the Movie Projection Booth and then it will spit out your Prize. At this point you will tap on “AWESOME” to bring it in the game.
How it is brought in will vary. It will either show for immediate placement in the Game Play Area…
go to your Inventory Storage Menu…
***Side Note: Known Issue with this. If you are unable to get an item out try first to completely clear out the screen. Then Go to your Menu Tab in the Lower Left Side of your game, In the Menu Tab tap on your Inventory option, then locate the item in the ALL or Building tab, then try to place it again. If it still doesn’t work, Contact TinyCo from your in game messaging.
For Quagmire’s Haunted House, it will first go into Inventory Storage, then tapping on it in Inventory Storage will show the Building Facade/Skin was earned and you need to go place it on the Original Building. (Tap on Building, then Green Arrow over Building, then tap on the different Boxes for different Facades/Skins until you have the one you want on the Building. Or Circle with Slash through it to remove it.)
As this is ONLY Page 1, I assume more will arrive as each New Phase is released weekly. There you have it. A Basic Rundown of the Movie Projection Booth and all that lies within.

why does the price for reels keep frigging changing? it’s absurd that it gets more expensive every level then on the last day before the new movie it drops? Wtf….. On the next movie I’m waiting to get anymore reels until the last day because I’m assuming they will do the same thing.

I am currently ready to unlock the pumpkin tower but I’m waiting to collect enough reels to get slasher cat, thanks to your helpful info. I was wondering, since I can’t seem to find an answer anywhere, does it move back to the first page after you unlock slasher cat? Everywhere I have seen, the page in the booth that ends with slasher cat is called page 1. In my game it is page 2/2. Page 1 has slasher bait Lois as the second to last unlockable. Since I need her and another object from that list in order to unlock patty(i only have a day or 2 left), I am confused. Do I have to unlock everything including Slasher Cat on the one page, then everything up to SB Lois in order to get her?

Yay! Thanks for the advice Bunny. Held off on placing the Pumpkin Tower until I had exactly 120s reel like you suggested and was able to get Slasher Cat today! Sadly, I wont be able to save Meg’s friend, but Death seems to be within reach! Just 7 scythes, 4 souls of the dead, and 11 brimstones away!

Where did my movie reels go?? I had 165 that I’ve been collecting all week. I buy the cat cave (20) and quagmires house skin (26) and now I have 84? WTD? Anyone else see this issue? I sent an In game message to tiny co.

My only exchange rate option is popcorn AND sodas-is this right? I have 1 soda over an entire day. I my game essentially over or is getting sodas gonna get easier? I’ve killed about 8 bunch of bats and haven’t gotten not 1.

Lame timer started when I placed pumpkin tower

Now I only need 53 more holy water balloons and to craft them and my current 10 into 63 ballon crossbows @ 1 hr each and have 63 nuns to shoot in the next 24 hours. So dumb, they should just have in the store for 900 clams and call it a day instead of making be in impossible task without spending that many clams.

As soon as I hit scream level 4 the Movie Projection Booth automatically opened and the Slasher Cat timer started … argh!

Oh nooo… They did change the scream levels… I was halfway through level 4 with 93 reels and 35 popcorn tubs, so veeery close to getting Slasher Cat. Logging in all through the day (thanks TinyCo for the FB app, now I can check in from work during the day!) – next thing you know, I log in, get rewards for the next scream level and end up at level… 6! Now it takes 80 popcorn tubs to get 5 reels! I hope the other ways to get reels turn out easy enough because it’s harder and harder to get reels but it still takes one hour to generate a single movie prop at a time.

I just opened up the game and they must have changed the amount of scream points needed for level 4 because now I am at level 4 and the movie reels now cost me 45 popcorn. This seriously screws up my timing for getting the 100 movie reels for slasher cat.

Remember New Concession will come for exchange too with New Phases. Popcorn won’t be the ONLY help for Reels. 😉

I wish I’d read this part earlier. I accidentally hit the projection booth that started the timer for Slasher the cat. Now I’m at at level 4 and have to earn 45 popcorn buckets to get a 5 reels. I can’t believe I’m not going to get him. I love kitties!

I am almost to level 3 but it doesn’t look I am going to be able to finish the timed quest with the nuns 😦 I have 19 hrs left and still need 20 nuns. Does anyone know if this will cause a problem moving forward or has anyone else had this problem?

I leveled up in the scream points and the game opened up the projection window on its own again… Not that it matters because I did not get slasher cat because of it doing it the first time…

Is this slasher cat character unlock timer a joke? Really 100 reels in 24 hours. I have been actively playing this event from the start and I feel like I’m so far behind already. Why does there always have to be a timer to these things?

Earn them BEFORE triggering it. It’s not hard. Just don’t trigger him. 😉

They didnt give me a warning so I didnt know he had a timer. Why do they even put on an impossible timer?
They have done this before and people complained so they started warning people “watch out theres a timer”. Now they actually encouraged you to build all of that stuff asap (the quest) and then give you a big middle finger. UNLESS you read a fan made site before you start any quest/building. No offense to you guys and girls at familyaddicts, you do a great job at delivering the information, but we surely shouldnt have to check a site (that as far as I know isnt even official) to know whether there will be an impossible timer or not… If the timer was possible fine, no warning. But if you need to collect before hand? Thats just stupid.

You’re right about the FAQ mentioning the timer, but to be fair to the people above, the FAQ doesn’t mention that he costs 100 movie reels and that once you start that 24 hour, it is actually impossible to acquire what he needs within the 24 hour window without speeding some tasks along. I was fortunate to have read the warnings here before getting to that point, but if I had only read the FAQ, I would have thought, “no big deal, I’ll just wait until everyone is free from tasks before starting him and I’ll also start him at 6 AM to maximize my time utilization” — thinking once I start him, I could just go gangbusters with my people… from that FAQ entry, it would never have occurred to me that I’d need to accumulate a bunch of reels before-hand, nor would I have even had a clue how many I needed to accumulate since it doesn’t tell you that. So I’m going to have to respectfully agree with the others in calling foul on this. It wasn’t a fair thing to do to players who don’t closely follow a fan site. That said, thank you very much for the heads-up, but the game itself should give some kind of fair warning.

No company in the history of business will offer up all their hidden items. It’s how they work. Like it or not, that’s life in the real world. How 99.9% of companies operate. That’s reality of gaming.
They won’t tell you everything in a game because that’s how games function. As a player YOU gotta figure it out. Knowing going in blind you’ll hit things you may not be prepared for, ready for, or like. It’s been the nature of games since I can remember. Always a hidden element for the player to stumble upon. You’ll have to learn to except to give in or let things go.
As a gamer we have to realize this old school style still in play and either learn to accept what particular game style is tossed at us or move to another game.
No one HAS to come here for the help. It’s pure choice. Just like I don’t HAVE to offer the help. Like it or not…THIS site is here to help. People continue to tear it apart and abuse that help and it will disappear.
People need to learn to stop destroying things that are helping them

I dont want to sound too pushy or anything but im starting to get really worried about the scream level… So when is the post about it coming live? I really am behind for the first time and thats new to me… And im speaking as a guy who has got everything from previous events and spent almost 4000 clams on leaderboards. I wouldnt worry too much but the clam prices on my region went up by 30%. So i wouldnt want to spend 400 or more clams on getting enough scream points… Hopefully you understand my point of view 🙂

I get it, but understand MY point of view. I have a full time job and people to take care of, I am also running Solo aka ALL BY MYSELF on now TWO sites with fully blown Events going on. I am trying to do my job, take care of my Mom & Gramms, AND Post on two sites a ton of info needed as fast as I can. Patience. 😉

Didn’t view it as rude, just letting you know there is a reason I am behind. I am honestly overwhelmed and doing all I can as fast as I can. It isn’t as simple as slap together stats and post. A lot of time and work goes into each one. Time that I do not have much of in a day. 😉
Alissa stepped away from Family Guy months ago… away currently for personal things and I do not know when she will be back. Wookiee is in College and works. So… me. And Wookiee when he has a few hours a week to hop in n help. But on Family Guy… me and ONLY me for a long time now. 😉

I went in to the movie reel site to trade in some popcorn and it told me I have reached my reel limit for this movie…does this mean all my popcorn I have left will be wasted? Will I still be able to use popcorn to get reels or should I hang on to my balloons and not collect more popcorn by taking out unholy nuns until the next movie?

I keep purchasing and setting the Cat Cave. The next time I enter the game it’s like it reset its self and I do the whole thing again. I’m going on 5 times now and I’m tired of redoing the building and collecting from the characters because it’s getting me nowhere. I keep collecting the previous drop outs and can’t progress in the game. Is this a known issue or do I need to contact Tiny Co? Thank you in advance 🙂

I have stored all if my buildings that I have got in this event for now. I don’t want to level up too quickly (thereby increasing the cost of reels) so am trying to stay on level 2 until I have unlocked Slasher Cat.

I think this is the first time I will be unable to start the next phase of the event when it hits. Every event prior to this I have always reach the required level to update portal, warp room, pyramid, ghost portal,etc. I have only just reached level 3. I need 320 scream points in 2 days!! I have only managed to get a couple of decos as quagmire is so busy on other tasks I have not got hardly any 3d glasses. I have done all side quest lines as far as they go. This is ridiculous. With only the pumpkin tower and slasher cat to create I’m gonna be so behind from the beginning its gonna be hard to catch up. I know this is early days but I have been around since the start and at no point has any previous event been easy to catch up to when you are behind. 😢😢😢

How do I know if my slasher cat timer is started? I don’t actually remember if I clicked it after getting the pumpkin tower. Also I have a holy water balloon task for Joe at murderpoint (looking for muderers) I couldn’t figure out why murder point dropped me balloons‽‽ lol, I’ve missed like 5 unholy nuns so far! SMH😒

Do Slasher Cat, Slasher Cat Cave, and the Pumpkin Tower always drop the items needed for Death, or do they drop sparsely?
Also, since this is a 5-week event and there are only 4 “absolute killers” do you think week 5 will be mostly for finishing up the previous 4 weeks’ questlines and characters? (PeterPalooza is the only event I’ve played through and I didn’t get too far, so I don’t really know how past events have worked).

Tysm for advice on getting Slasher Cat. I read your original post about this too. Super helpful. 🙂 I am saving up 120 movie reels before I even place the pumpkin house, because more than likely, I would land up accidentally setting off the timer for Slasher Cat before I meant to. Just dreading the time it’s going to take to make that many reels ugh. 😦 I know it’s still early in the event but I hate lagging far behind when new phases hit. Makes me feel like I am constantly playing catch up. The only good thing about it, is that we often get good tips and tricks in advance, and learn better ways to achieve goals, than some who walked before us.

The *only* thing the cat gives you is an extra “extra rare” shot at a scythe for Death, who requires drops from the Pumpkin Tower, so you’re essentially holding back drops for Death, to get 1 extra chance at an extra rare drop for Death.
Doesn’t make sense. Plus it takes 100 reels that you could use to get ahead in the next phase!

Well, not exactly the “only” thing. 😉 It also gives me a cat character. I like cats 🙂 Plus the cat is part of a clam group, which awards 20 clams for completing. I know Death’s group awards clams as well. And I see your point too. It’s a very good point but still gotta try for the cat. 🙂 Would have preferred a black one but so it goes.

I don’t know if anyone has noticed yet but it looks like they added another way to get Holy Water Balloons, and this one is a 4 hour task! Its Joe’s 4 hour task “Look for Murderers” which he does at Murder Point. When I sent him on that task earlier, it didn’t show that it produced Holy Water Balloons, but when his task was over, it dropped a Holy Water Balloon. Then when I went to put him on the same task again, it showed this is an additional task for Holy Water Balloons with it only being 4 hours instead of 5 hours or otherwise. Just thought I’d share what I saw.

I’m currently at 54 Film Reels, still saving up till I’ve got enough to get the last two prizes I need from this first page, and on another note there’s now another task that drops Water Baloons, I can’t remember what the task is but it’s a 4hr task from Joe.

Don’t know if anyone else has noticed. Joes 4 hour task search for murders now drop water balloons for nuns. Yay. I was wondering when this task would be used as it has been here since I placed murder point.

I’m up to the Pumpkin Tower but not going create that until I have enough reels for Slasher Cat, as I don’t want any accidental taps on the movie booth setting the timer. Sometimes I check my game during night and brain is still sleeping and tap something I’ve previously told myself not to. Thanks as ever for that heads up early on. Just going work away on building up reels, getting items for Death and hopefully see some new ways to earn scream points on Thursday but I’m at Level 3 with 300 so I think that must be about right for what I’ve created etc.

Is it guaranteed that Level 3 will only require 35 popcorn? I know Level 2 between from 30 and 35 popcorn depending on your questline progress. Is there a possibility that level 3 could increase to 45 popcorn?

I earned cleavers so quickly that I hit the level 4 45-exchange rate much too quickly. Oh well, that’s what I get for not storing those unnecessary new buildings right away. I’m intentionally holding off on GETting Quagmire’s facade and the Pumpkin Tower so I can earn at least 150 movie reels first. If something goes wrong, however, do you know if there is a clam option to buy Slasher Cat before the timer runs out? I try to get all the cats within my very limited budget!

How on earth are you earning cleavers so quickly? I’m still on level two only halfway to level three. It seems like cleavers come at a snail’s pace.
