Hey there I Scream-Ers!
Got your popcorn and snacks ready? Got your love one snuggled up close in your arms? You car stereo tuned into the right Frequency to pick up the Movie? Got the “good spot” at the Drive-In? Ready to SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAM??!!
TinyCo has dropped another awesome Event into our Quahogs. This time we are gonna go back to those “Scary Movies” of the past. The ones that send chills up your spine. Make those lil hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Make your heart start beating a lil faster. hack hack hack hack chop chop chop chop kill kill kill kill….
With this New Scary Movie Scene Event, we also get some New Character’s. Characters long anticipated like Death!
Let’s take a look at what Death can do in our silly lil games.
Death was a New Character added during the first week of Death at the Drive-In 2015. As with (almost) all Characters in TQFS in order to unlock him you’ll have to collect lots of STUFF.
Now if you tried to find him in the Event Menu, you would have only seen a Lock symbol over his image and a lil icon telling you to go to the Movie Projection Booth. That is where you will actually start his Process. FIRST, you got to get Death’s Mom’s House into your game.
Death’s Mom’s House is the 4th Prize in the Movie Projection Booth and will require you to first earn 24 
Movie Reels to get it into the game as well as unlock the 3 Prizes in front of it.
Once you had gotten to Death’s Mom’s House and earned the 24 Movie Reels, you then would see the Clam option turn to a Green “GET” in the Movie Projection Screen. Tapping on “GET” had the Movie Projection Booth spit out Death’s Mom’s House. All you had to do now was place it by tapping “AWESOME”.
Two things happen as soon as you place Death’s Mom’s House. Death will appear at his Mom’s House with a bouncing Lock Icon. Tapping on the icon will show you what you need to collect to earn Death.

8 Scythes (Extra Rare): Slasher Cat (Movie Projection Booth) OR Lois Teach Piano OR Quagmire Photocopy Private Parts OR Bonnie Twerk It
18 Sandals (Uncommon): Peter Dig Through Attic OR Bruce Fret About Something OR House of Masks
20 Souls of the Dead (Common): Slasher Cat Cave (Movie Projection Booth)
15 Brimstones (Rare): Pumpkin Tower (Movie Projection Booth)
Now the second thing that will happen once you place Death’s Mom’s House is a BONUS OFFER to get an additional Task Drop for Death added in the game. This WILL cost you Clams. So think long and hard about if it is worth it to you to take this Offer or just pass on it and focus on collecting for Death at your own pace. THIS IS A TIMED 24HR OFFER ONLY!!!
DEATH’S BONUS TASK 24HR OFFER: Unlock Death in 24hrs and get his 8hr Task to drop 1
Holy Water Balloons in the game for , Death at the Door.
Again… this is ONLY optional and you can pass on it and just keep going to collect Death at your pace.
He does come with a Questline, Death Wish Come True, more on it HERE.
Death is also a part of a Clam Character Group, Meet the Deaths. Earning all the Characters in the Group and completing it will earn you an extra 25 Free Clams
.
Death does come with a complete set of Tasks! Tasks that will help you earn $$$ & XP.

**Note: Within an Event, tasks may change and vary as the Phases come and go. So some of these tasks will be temporary. Others may be one time use. Some will stick around even after the Event. We won’t know until the Event Ends.
Side Note: I know this may only apply to those that care, but he does “RAG DOLL” when picked up and moved around the screen. He tucks up one leg and holds on to his Scythe tight. It makes me giggle. 😉

Hey, during the Greek Life, I had a pop up to get Death, his mom, and dog, and I also got the devil and Satan. I am currently on the task: What the devil, pt. 2, and the second part of that task is to have slasher bait Peter be brutally murdered. I am lost about this one, because it seems like something that was a previous quest and that I won’t be able to advance since I just started playing the game a few months ago. Please advise!!!! Thank you!

So i got the pumpkin tower for 3 days now and so far it only dropped 3 Brimstone. The item is just rare not ultra rare. Plus doesn’t it supposed “always” drop everything for death is complete just waiting on Brimstones.

Rare dropping once a day actual sounds pretty normal.
For drop rates, look at item tagged on character. It’ll tell you what the “chance” is for each item

Bruce and Peter used to drop the sandals quite frequently. Now I have not had one drop for 2 days. Only need 4 to get Death. I have all the other things already. Any word on if this is a glitch?

Ever since this game came out I wanted Death. I always hoped they would make the right choice in using Norm McDonalds voice, as he was the original Death. He only did it once or twice, but he was better. Sadly…they went with Corrola. oh well, life goes on.

Thanks for filling me in, Im a bit more calm. Wish they would have waited to bump us tho cuz its still over an hour and a half away and I could have used this time to get more reels and now I cant. I would have gotten to level four on my own right around the start of movie 2, but now I skipped it altogether and went straight to 60 popcorns grrrrrrrrr. Again, thanks for the help! Much love!

Does Lois ever earn any scythes, keep sending her to teach piano and she ends up getting chased by slasher cat and then earning nothing.

I have only been sending Lois (other characters are getting water balloons) she has earned 5 for me. On the plus the timer on her task still goes down even if she’s getting chased.

Wow. You’re lucky. I’ve only been sending Lois for Scythes as well and I’ve only gotten ONE. And that just happened like 5 minutes ago! 2 days.. Just now getting one. Need 8 😤 moving along quite nicely with the rest of the materials too, so it’s a shame I’m going to have to wait so long to unlock him cause of those damn Scythes lol. Oh well.

i think i have officially given up on Slasher Cat. I have 73 reels saved up, for the pumpkin tower and slasher cat. i figured one more day of solid playing and i’d have him and now i need EIGHTY boxes of popcorn for 5 reels???? WOW. that is A LOT. sooooo depressed right now. 😦

Hi Bunny,
So the requirement to go to level 4 is now 350 cleavers?
My game is showing me at level three with 416/350 (WTD?).
If I am reading that correctly, I have 66 more cleavers than required
to get to level 4, yet I languish at level 3.
Tried force closing the game a few times, same thing.
I would like to be able to access the phase 2 content later
today, but if I can’t get to level 4, that won’t be happening.
Any Ideas?

My game seems to have corrected itself. I collected a cleaver from one of the buildings and everything updated. Now sitting @ level 4.

I’m a little curious why they had tasks for the event drop regular credits instead of special items for the event i.e. glowrings for the Peterpalooza. If they’d have been dropping hatchets, the levels may not have had to be adjusted on the fly.

It may still come into play. They have reasoning behind doing things a certain way, main reason is it comes from somewhere else. So waiting to see what else is in store this event.

I hope they improved the drop rate for the pumpkin tower. I have collected off it 6 times and haven’t gotten a Death part yet….but the bump to level 4 was nice!

I was worried I might not get to scream level 4 in time for tonight because I needed 48 more points but when I bought 1 bloody footprint (8 points) I had the pop up screen of Meg and Brian then I got a clam for leveling up which I collected then I got another pop up of Meg n Brian and another clam for leveling up again ..so I went from level 3 to level 5 in a matter of moments,now I need 60popcorns for 5 reels.is level 4 really short?

Same happened with me. I’ve been intentionally keeping the level low so I wouldn’t need ridiculous amounts of popcorn to trade for movie reels. This just seems more of a tiny co ploy for people to spend clams

Ploy to spend Clams? Seriously? Did you forget that Popcorn will NOT be the only way to get Reels? NO ONE has to spend Clams. To think that is silly. There are 4 other items in Concessions and have been since day one showing a Reel Exchange. It increases so you don’t HAVE to rely on it as the only source. 😉

Well then their timing is off, because as of right now only the popcorn is unlocked for me, which I have 50 of and now need 60 for the 5 movie reels, so guess I’m a dummy for not trading them earlier then, huh? Yeah the popcorn isn’t the only thing you can trade, but it’s a bit suspect to all of the sudden jump up levels, don’t you think?

With a new phase about to launch… no. They want to make sure Players can reach the new Phase content… the #1 thing Players complain about, being stuck “behind”. They’re prepping to make sure that basic game play is on par with where they want Players to be in progress.

This is just too funny… scream at them when you feel behind on an event and want them to fix it so you are not… but then scream when they pre-emptively ensure that majority of Players are NOT behind for new content. Yup… that sure makes sense. I will stick with going with MAJORITY of Players NOT stuck behind and not able to get new content for tonight so they can keep enjoying the Event. 😉

Thank God there will be another source for getting reels today! I have been saving the reels needed for Slasher Cat and then, like many others, suddenly jumped from lvl 3 to 5. I was freaking out til I came here and read this. Phew. Lol.

Opened the game and BOOM I’m level 4 not sure if glitch or on purpose I was over 200 away from level 4 now 5 reels cost 45 popcorn 😦 only need 45 more reels for slasher cat.

It is a good thing. New level hits today. They want everyone to be able to access it. Keep in mind that OTHER items will start next to earn and exchange for Reels. Reels are here to stay all event. 😉

Hey Bunny! I pulled a Homer (I know, wrong Fox series, lol) but seriously. I entered the game today just a couple of moments before this comment was made; at 2:52 pm est. They lowered the xp goal for getting to level 4.level 5 is at 560 now, I believe. So basically if you’re at 600+ scream points, you should be over at about level 5. I’m not exactly sure what you have to get so you could be at level 4 though other than it’s under 480 I believe. Anyways, I mentally did a “Woohoo!” Before realizing now that the popcorn rate has gone up from 35 to 45 for getting 5 reels which made me “D’oh!”

I was miles behind level 4 (mainly due to miss reading your excellent advise ref Slasher Cat. Where I held off buildings thinking the bouncy castle tripped the timer!) Now some screens are showing me at level 3 and others are at level 4, and I’ve received the clam bonus and the task list is showing me as ready for the next phase!

When trying again, I get the usual can’t connect to server message from Consuela. Reproducible when powered down and then up again. Sounds like they did an oopsie while preparing for the next phase of the event so it’s probably temporary and just a sign that I have to get back to work. No update has appeared yet in the App Store. Last looked at the game about 6:30am, I think. I’m just in level 4 and nowhere near the scream points needed to have vampires wandering around (I assume the next phase?).

It’s fixed now, I didn’t have to power down or anything. But alas, with only 384 scream points I am now at level 4 with their changes and just had to fork over 45 popcorns for five reels instead of the planned 35, with 56 reels still needed for the pumpkin tower plus That Darned Cat. There is a cleaver marked 2 hovering over the screen. I’m a tad afraid to hit it….
Bunny says we should face our fears and that other stuff will help with reels besides popcorn. I wonder if they will send That Darned Cat to harass Lois more often also? That speeds up reels. But they did lower the time for holy water balloon collecting so it only takes 4 hours rather than 5 hours now. I suppose we all should just Trust the Bunny and forge ahead. The Tiny Gods will provide.

Yay, finally Death is in the game! Let’s hope he doesn’t touch too many people, otherwise we’ll need a graveyard. Still a long way from getting him though. Need a few more reels to get the pumpkin tower. Just sent Slasher Bait Peter on the first of his 3 tasks; got 10 sandals and 4 souls, but not much else.

Any thought on which will be more valuable moving forward; popcorn or reels? I won’t get slasher cat but have a lot of popcorn I can convert to reels. Would only do so if reels still have a value.

Unfortunately I’m a long way from unlocking him. I’ve made SB peter do his task 3 times and have some souls and sandals but the scythes are extremely difficult to get when the characters that drop them are the same ones that earn water balloons, which I think are more of a priority. So I’m basically stuck! 😢

I’ve decided that once I earn Death I’m not going to do the rest of this event. I’ve contacted Tiny co multiple times in the last 2 month about sending characters on tasks only to return to my game hours later to find them doing nothing. My water balloons are also not sticking when I create them. Anyone else having this problem?

Yes I have the same problem. It seems to happen alot when I open the game, send a few characters on task, then leave the game. I have to leave the game open for a while, then it sticks. Very odd.

Have you tried some troubleshooting? Making sure your game is syncing by going to mollie land or neighbor before leaving? Force closing it. Restarting device? Complete uninstall reinstall? Etc?
