DEATH AT THE DRIVE-IN PHASE 2 IS HERE!!!
EVENT ENDS THURSDAY NOVEMBER 5TH @3PM PACIFIC
- First up, you will have to be on Part 9 of Death at the Drive-in
- You will need to be at Scream Level 4 or Higher
- Play the New Event Phase to access ALL Content. With every new Event Phase there are “unlock points” for many items, so play through the Main Questline in order to see it all. I will Update Unlock points if any as I find them.
WARNING: There is another 24hr Timed Item in the Movie Projection Booth. This time it will be a Building Skin. Same kind of trigger point that the items BEFORE it once created will make it so the timer will start on the next tap in Booth. So if you are on a possible Timer Trigger for Slasher Cat’s 24hr timer… WATCH OUT. Don’t trigger that one either. This goes for Slasher Bait Lois, she is in the MOVIE PROJECTION BOOTH. So do not tap on her in the Menu or it will take you there.
Also, DO NOT REPAIR ESTHER’S CAR!! Not just yet anyway. It triggers Patty’s 7 Day Timer. So be prepared before jumping in.

When opening the game Connie will have a ! over her head. You can also just go tap on the Movie Screen to change the Movie to the New Phase Content and complete Part 9 of Death at the Drive-in Questline. You will also see Peter and Stewie now with a ! over their heads. (Not all Players will see the Questlines right off, it depends on WHO you already own)
Peter Starts the New Main Questline for the Event, Death at the Drive-In the Sequel… this also triggers the Vampires to start. Once you tap through Peter then will start another Questline, Meg Has a Friend… this will take you to Unlock Patty… so wait if you’re not ready, don’t start to repair the car just yet… SHE IS TIMED.
Connie Starts a Questline for her Witch Costume, Double, Double, Toil and Trouble
Stewie Starts a Questline for his Duck Costume, Scared Straight
Again… they will vary on what YOU have in your game and what Questlines you may have already triggered last year.

Similar to the Launcher, placing this in the game will show a “Kill Zone Circle” around it. Once a Werewolf enters the Circle and turns PURPLE, tap the check mark to take them out.
Werewolves: You will start to see the details of the Werewolves when you reach A Questline will trigger by a ! over Peter AFTER Death at the Drive-in the Sequel Part 3, but the Werewolves won’t start to appear until A Questline will trigger by a ! over Peter AFTER Death at the Drive-in the Sequel Part 4. I got 3 right away.
Your Characters in the game will randomly turn into a Werewolf. This will NOT stop their timer if they are on a task, but you won’t be able to collect until you hit them with the Silver Cannon and turn them back to normal.
Characters that will become Werewolves: Quagmire, Mort, Bonnie, Joe, Connie, Brain, Carter, Stewie, Consuela, Cleveland, Jake, Buzz Killington, Kool-Aid Man, Snoop Dogg, Deadmau5, Weird Al
A Questline will trigger by a ! over Peter AFTER Death at the Drive-in the Sequel Part 4, you just tap on them and you will see the same screen like the Unholy Nuns along with WHO it is that is turned in the top Left Corner. You can put a Silver Cannon down at this time and wait til Werewolf is ready to be attacked. Remember PURPLE IS GOOD. Tap on the Check Mark when the Werewolf is going INTO the Kill Zone Circle and turns PURPLE.
Werewolves Payouts: The amounts paid out vary. It seems like I got 8-9 Sodas, but still testing it out.
VAMPIRES, BATS, AND GARLIC BOMBS
You will start to see Vampires Roaming your town now after starting Part 1 of Death at the Drive-in the Sequel. Tapping on them will turn them into Bats. But now, how to get rid of those Bats? Garlic of course!
VAMPIRE SPAWN: Watch your Movie Screen. Tapping on it will show you WHO pops out next, how many, and how long til that Spawn (right now Unholy Nuns & Vampires will swap as next Spawn)
HELP NOTE: Place TWO Squares of Road right at the Entrance to Event Area where the Nuns and Vampires come out. This will make it easier to keep them right there and tap them, then Bomb the Bats right away. 🙂
The Garlic Bomb Launcher Icon will show in your Lower Right Corner of the game as soon as you COMPLETE Part 1 of Death at the Drive-in the Sequel
Garlic Bomb Launcher: You will see a New Icon in your game for the Garlic Launcher. Tapping on it will pull up a screen similar to past events where anything in the “Cloud Path” of the bomb will be destroyed. So, MAZE TIME??!! (Still testing if they even stay anywhere, right now… NO 😦 More random like the Unholy Nuns, but if you wait… you can get more than one in an area. Especially if you do it AS SOON AS YOU TAP A VAMPIRE) You will want to make the most of each Garlic Bomb.
Garlic Bombs: Jerome OR Quagmire OR The Playground OR The Police Department OR Questline OR Buy Them
****The Bats break up after tapping a Vampire into groups of 2 or 3 Flocks of Bats Each. So you get roughly 2 or 3 Flocks of Bat groups from each Vampire tapped. Tapping on the Flocks of Bats WILL stop them for a few seconds and change their direction. So… you can keep tapping on a few to keep them in an area til you are ready.

So I had an idea (you’ve probably already said this cause you’re extremely thorough) but I think I’m going to collect reels, spending none until all the pages are open. I’m glad I unlocked Death and wish I had unlocked slasher cat but don’t necessarily want the Lois costume. What if in week 3 there’s a much better unlock or even week 4? I think I may just save up reels and choose an unlock path at the end. Thoughts? You think that’ll screw me over on Scream count, and other collection aspects?

I would be passing up Patty too since I’ve already clicked on the car but not much of a loss there either. This is an odd event. If you think about it they’ve actually made people fearful of moving forward and clicking on something too soon. Very true to the scary theme. Awesome job by TinyCo.

I would trade in ALL materials while the Exhange rate is low and add up reels. They go entire event. Not sure about wait as items are needed for each level Character… Like Death and now patty

I confess, I am probably one of the playas who orig asked for, back in the day, when many events were too easy, for harder challenges. But honestly TinyCo, I meant harder in terms of brain power, like puzzles to figure out, not challenges that are beyond super time consuming, esp when we have to work to make a living, to be able to afford this game that we love so much in the first place. How are we supposed to get over 50 sodas per day now? I can’t even get 5 sodas per day. This game is impossible now. I only have one soda so far. The math doesn’t add up.

Looking at the event Mystery Box, it is an easy PASS for me, there is really only 1 thing out of the 12 that I would really want (Little Lucifer) of course and basically he is just a walking deco, not sure if he is voiced (doubtful)
Would have been nice had they nixed the two popcorn chances and replaced them with better items, Phase two as majorly reduced popcorn’s value, and my guess in week three popcorn will be basically worthless.
replace the two popcorn chances with a Werewolf, a vampire,Frankenstein’s Monster, or “the Monster from the Black Lagoon” that walk around and I probably would have took a chance.

I see several comments from people who also got the Clam TV this time. I do hope this is on the way out to everyone, but I still didn’t get it, nor did my boyfriend. He is level 6, I am 5. Anyone on same level or lower which got it, as I am wondering if it might be related to level?

Yea its bad. you should see the FGQFS Facebook page. its horrible. Like anything TinyCo posts has like tons of negative comments within seconds. Admittedly some are kinda sarcastic and funny but its pretty out of hand there this event. So many people acting like the worlds goin to end cause they missed slasher cat. Funny thing is they have no problems goin to the facebook page to complain. if they had visited it earlier they might have noticed people talkin about the timers and not got so called “screwed over”

Unlocked Esther right away not even knowing what I was doing. I guess the main problem will be getting Slasher Bait Lois in time. Seven days is a long time, but I’m so mad at myself for possibly shooting myself in the foot.

Not sure if this has been reported or not, yet, but when the scream point system was updated yesterday it apparently triggered the Slasher Cat timer without me knowing.
I was taking the advice of not clicking on the projection booth so I could save up reels. But, when the new update hit today (this afternoon for me) it automatically opened up the questions which opened up the projection booth, and I discovered that the Slasher Cat timer only had 3 hours left. Which meant that it actually started yesterday afternoon/evening without my knowledge.
So, just a heads up for everyone else as the result for me was no longer being able to get the cat.

They have had timed Characters since the game was created… I doubt it. It is more let them know how LONG it will take a reasonable player and the Requirements may be changed.

The really important thing would be to make it virtually impossible to trigger a timer by accident. The timer isn’t the big anxiety producer – it’s the fear of triggering it prematurely (before materials are stockpiled). Especially since some people think they really didn’t tap anywhere themselves to trigger it, but for instance it happened automatically with transition to the next phase. People want to plan when dealing with timers. A proper early warning system about timers needs some work, also, so people know why they shouldn’t do such things until they’re ready. Even a “see faq before touching anything!” message might help, with a little more elaboration in the faq.

Likewise they need a way to cancel or confirm such crucial things as changing the movie and entering phase 2, which just happened to me accidentally. In a few hours, I would have had enough reels to get pumpkin tower and the Cat in phase 1. Now I can’t get the required reels until I collect 54 sodas, which means I’m actually delayed by quite a bit (a day? 2 days? Will find out) getting whatevers to get those sodas since my popcorn will no longer be enough. I’ll still get Cat eventually, unless another disastrous tapping accident occurs, but I don’t think this is the scenario TinyCo anticipated. They wanted to help people get to the new material sooner and be happy campers, not have people dragged into it too early and feeling grumpy about it. I’ll survive, but there needs to be a better way to avoid such things if even paranoid ultra-careful me gets trapped.

is there a known movie prop shack issue? i tried navigating this site first to find my answer as it helps when we read first before posting something already addressed, but my internet is being stupid today and its taking forever to get from one page to the next so please forgive me if i am asking a ? already answered…capacity says 8 but i can only craft 6 and own no items, is this already addressed somewhere?

Capacity vs Queue is what you are seeing. The QUEUE can only make 6 at a time. Your Capacity varies. So… if 6 are in there…wait. Once they’re done, you can make 2 more to hit YOUR 5 Capacity.

I am beginning to think that the popcorn/soda requirements are based on something other than just the level. Maybe it goes off of the total scream points. There appear to be more than one amount being reported for the same “level” and I think my amounts changed and I did not change levels.
My level 6 at 928/1100 is now:
32 soda = 10 reels
27 soda + 45 popcorn = 12 reels
Also, only certain characters have the store option turned off. I just brought all my characters out of storage and ended up putting almost all of them that aren’t earning anything back into inventory.

Okay, now I am even more confused. My numbers have now gone DOWN.
Still Level 6 at 1028/1100
25 soda = 10 reels. (Down from 32)
27 soda + 45 popcorn = 12 reels (same as before)
I took screen prints, so I know I did not write the figures down wrong. Maybe they have lowered the requirements in the last hour or so.

Isn’t Slasher Cat available still? I go in the projection room and it shows that it has “expired”. I never started the 24 hour timer so I am confused. I was planning on getting him today when I got to 100 reels. But the option is not there anymore. Anyone else have this issue?

I had this issue as well. I absolutely 100% DID NOT trip the timer. Never went anywhere near the projection booth. And I’ve seen other comments about it also. I’m pretty sure he went away when phase 2 started. I wish Tiny Co would have stated that in their FAQ section about slasher cat and the timed challenge. Because I was under the impression I could get him once I saved up enough reels as long as I didn’t tap the projection booth & trigger the timer. So now I’m worried the same thing will happen with Slasher Bait Lois & whatever other timed characters come next…

Is anybody having problems having Garlic registering? I got 2 from Police Station and Playground, but when I go to convert them to Cannons the count is still zero.
PS- I don’t even know what’s going on in this event anymore. Its too confusing. You need this for that which is needed to create something else to make another thing. TinyCo here’s some advice “Keep it simple, stupid!”

Nope. Mainly just tap on them to keep them in an area or change direction to send them all to one spot… THEN FIRE!!!

A strategy for bats I just tried:
I saved my vampires until ready to use garlic bomb. Then took my road down to 2 squares and surrounded it with fence. Quickly tapped all vampires spawning bats, quci switch to garlic and Whammo!. A few got out, but was able to get 7 with one shot out of 3 vampires.
Maybe a little help amongst the calculus inducing quest for stuff. 🙂

Confirmed, if you leave them as vampires they stay on roads, so save up your garlic then click all the vampires at once to spawn the bats all close together.

I waited for the vampires to spawn, and thre of them came out at once. I tapped them all quickly and shot the garlic right away, I cleaned nine flocks with Just one shot, but i think this was only a once in a lifetime chance 😦

It is actually a GREAT way to get them. Stick 2 blocks of road right at the point they come out. They’ll always gather there… then make it easy to tap on that spot and shoot

Since you asked, I got the clam-giving TV screen today! It was so cool to watch two ads and get 2 clams, plus the neighbor clam. Even with the little frustration from the increased level of difficulty to get reels, this is still a fun event because I get to save my Quahog from all the beasties with toys! Woohoo! 🎃💫

I used to get 6 ads a day, today only 3 ads. I guess my lucky testing group days have come to an end, but it did grant me a few premium chars…hope it goes back up to 6 a day soon.

It will not. You only had that many as only a few got them for testing. You are now back to sharing with ALL Players. You will only get about 1 or 2 a day. 3 if lucky.

Wow what an update, certainly can’t complain about being bored. Thanks for the timer heads ups Bunny, appreciated as always. So looks like time start stocking up on garlic and silver cannons before I reach part 5. Death coming along nicely, reckon I will unlock him by Tuesday or so. And I think, ok I know, I’m going treat myself to Michael Myers.
Will buy few clams but they have fair shot up in price in the UK, probably because exchange rate and I believe 20% VAT is added here unlike in the States. But I get lot fun out this game and there’s a lot worse I could spend my money on.
All in all fantastic event so far, and the 27 sodas for 10 reels isn’t freaking me as last week we started with 20 popcorn for only 5 reels. Once I know the werewolf reel payouts I will ponder over my plan to stick with just soda or mix it up with popcorn.
Oh and Bunny am I right to presume the unicorn drops won’t start until unlocked the car?

the vampires only spawned once for me when pt. 2 started, that was hours ago, how am I suppose to complete pt. 2 to bomb the bats with no vampires spawning? 😦 only witches keep spawning at the movie screen…

Bat payouts seem to vary hugely. Hit two at once and got 8 sodas and 2 stickers then hit three and only got 1 sticker.

If you are in Phase one and can get Popcorn fast… stay there. If you think that Soda will be easier for you… move on.

My poor little brain can’t cope with this, there’s so much to do for a freemium player. I’m no-where near getting death unlocked and I still need 41 more film reels to get the pumpkin tower and slasher cat. I’ve made level 4 now (accidentally) and I’m not sure whether to click the screen to start week 2 content or not for fear of starting timers I cant fulfill. This is not a whinge, I’m just looking for advice. Or solace 😉

Sry, I meant to include this in my last post but I had to go back to Quahog to double check my reel exchange rate when I saw you could possibly need level 6 rates and forgot what I wanted to ask by the time I was posting lol sooo, I see you have bats listed as sometimes dropping nothing which is what I found too but they have soda drops listed as always so shouldn’t the bats always give us at least a soda, I did message them in game asking if the always is an error or bats not dropping always is a glitch but I thought maybe you were already on it as I’ve found you usually are lol. Second thing is yes, I now have a clam TV too and I haven’t seen one since there was a glitch with Patches showing up in front of the Griffin House asking if I that wanted to watch a video for clams but tapping yes didn’t actually play a video or pay out a clam lol so this was another awesome surprise today! (So a big thank you to TinyCo for that)

I got my first batch of Vampires and all the Bats cleared and now it gives me a pop-up message that I can get more by hitting up the movie screen, but that is still showing a timer for the Unholy Nuns, and no more Vampires yet
I am not quite to Scream level 8, almost there but not yet, jumped through 4-5 & 6 with the adjustments so not sure if there is something I am missing or what, have tried the basics and so far nada?!
ANYONE ELSE having this issue?!

They swap around. It is between them and Nuns that you will see. If Nuns are there, Vampires may be next. Spawns vary.

I just watched it (Movie screen) spit out Nuns and then reset to more nuns, which I have plenty of, I got 2 batches of vampires so far total, sorry I fell asleep, but I am also at level 8 now and my materials for the reels did not go up from level 7(I was about 20 points from Scream Level 8 when I posted the last time)
I have done the uninstall, reinstall but no way I can get the 100 Unicorn stickers I need with this Vampire spawn rate since they are rare and Bats are only way to get right now, starting to wonder if I got bounced when they goosed the scream level, was never stuck like you described with more points then the level needed but I jumped 3 levels before we got the new content?!
Do you know if you have to stay logged on to the game to make the timer go, never seemed to stop me before this movie change?! HELP, PLEASE,

I started out event on Level 8. The spawns switch. I go Nuns and Vampires both at times several in a row. Then mix. It varies. Sorry. You can try to contact them from your game to double check… but I am seeing no distinct pattern coming out.

Sorry, I have 7 nuns at present with 5 more on the way, and Lois is still getting attacked by Slasher Cat, just trying to give you as much detail as I am sending them too,
I have not gotten to the Werewolf Part yet, but that should be up in the next couple hours, would be willing to rush if it helped move me along to get more bats or whatever, just seems something is off or I’m stuck?!

Just got 3rd round of nuns in a row and the level 6 concession prices had been carried over to level 8 it seemed, until I had actually earned enough to get the 12 reels. then when I clicked on it the prices had jumped to the level 8 costs listed here, got to the weekly challenge too, so really need some bats Have reported but this seems not working right to me?!
Not sure hw we can avoid triggering Peter and the weekly challenge since you have too tap on him,
Not complaining here II just seriously think that I have a glitch, have tired the basics and no help?!

Love the fact that I too have a tv where I can watch app adds to earn clams (2 videos = 2 Clams)
Hate that I now have 2 characters (Carter and Stewie) that I took out and cannot put back into storage, yes I know that they will be used at some point in the event, but how about letting me put them back into storage and alerting players by having a (red !) over the character tab when a character has something they can do during the event? seems logical right?
Hate the popcorn to soda exchange rate, basically at lvl 5 I can turn in 27 sodas for 10 reels or 25 +60 popcorn for 12?
so 30 popcorn equals 1 soda,, at higher levels the exchange of popcorn to soda is even worse.
not enough free ways to gather the items required to collect the cannon balls or garlic.
I bought Michael Meyers and still cannon ball collecting is going to be very time consuming.
I am overall OK with the event, but I can already see that Tinyco is going to have to go and do another round of event fixing, it just really seems as though this event wasn’t as well thought out as Tinyco had thought it was.
