DEATH AT THE DRIVE-IN PHASE 4 IS HERE!!!
EVENT ENDS THURSDAY NOVEMBER 5TH @3PM PACIFIC
- First up, you will have to be on Part 9 of Death at the Drive-in III
- You will need to be at Scream Level 11 or Higher
- Play the New Event Phase Questline to access ALL Content. With every new Event Phase there are “unlock points” for many items, so play through the Main Questline in order to see it all. I will Update Unlock points. if any, as I find them.
WARNING: There is another 24hr Timed Item in the Movie Projection Booth. This time it will be Rainbow Barf Creature. Same kind of trigger point that the items BEFORE it once created will make it so the timer will start on the next tap in Booth.
Also, DO NOT REPAIR STOLEN BROWN CAR!! Not just yet anyway. It triggers Ruth‘s 7 Day Timer. So be prepared before jumping in.

These are the new Hollywood Horror you will see added into the game. They will begin to appear after Return of Death at the Drive-In Part 1.
Crazy Clowns: Require THREE Circus Cannons to kill them as they will have 150HP
Circus Cannons: Requires 1 Gunpowder Cannon & 1hr 15mins to create at the Concessions Stand. You will get 3 right away at end of part 1.
Gunpowder Barrels: Patrick Pewterschmidt OR Ghostface OR Death’s Dog Bark at Ghost Mailman OR Death’s Mom’s House OR Creepy Clown Gate
Just like the Horsemen, do NOT waste Movie Props and use them wisely. Know what Crazy Clown you have attacked before. Tap on it first. Look up in the Right Top Corner. See what the HP Level says. If it is 150= no hits, 100= 1 Hit, 50= 2 hits.
Also like the Horsemen as well as the Unholy Nuns & Werewolves, PURPLE = GOOD, tap the Check Mark to fire. Normal=Bad, reposition the weapon to get the Horror into the Kill Zone Circle and turn Purple or X out and try again.
Payout of 15 Licorice on kill.

I have the same thing BUT I haven’t unlocked Ruth yet nor did I use clams to buy out Meg Roach either. I noticed it also and started to panic thinking that it was a glitch and I couldn’t move on unless I collected again BUT I saw that the Cyclops House is ready to be unlocked in the projection booth so I was breathing easier after that.

Lol. Tinyco sure has all of the projection booth prizes all over the map when it comes to reel numbers. Phase 3 had them in numerical order which I like but Phase 4 has one prize at 30 reels and the next at 100 reels then 50 then 80 then 120 then 90 then 130. I wish they would just keep them in numerical order in the projection booth.

Wish I had all the options to get reels have only 1 at the moment 5 reels for 7 liquorice, do the prizes only appear in the movie projection booth only after you have collected all the ones for week 3, have still to collect the last 2 but have started week 4

Love the conversion rates for reels, stocked up on everything in phase 3 by skipping the last prize. I got all prizes except the last in phase 4 I started repairing Ruth after I got the cyclops house this morning and just placed the massion so I’m sure she’ll be unlocked no later than Monday. Skipping tge last prize againg and stocking uo for phase 5. I’m way ahead and ready for the next movie. Thanks so much Bunny for all your awesome tips!

I noticed on facespace under the absolute killers that there are 4 characters showing but here we are in week 4 with only 2 going, Slasher Cat and Patrick. Are they going to throw 2 at us in the final week? I was hoping with all of the feedback they have been getting that the would take it easy on us and have week 5 be a bit more of a catch up and finish stuff kinda week. I’m well into phase 4 now and my weekend is going to be tied up with making clown cannons as I’m trying to get that grand prize so it’s going to be hard to get reels for a couple days. Worried about falling behind. And one last observation, the Loony Room has yet to drop a pic of Marian for me. 0 for 4 so far. As it’s the only way to get them and it’s a long timed item, gonna be tough.

Ok. (In Timon’s voice) So you can’t progress in the main questline without triggering Ruth’s seven day timer but yet you need to get items 4, 6 and 7 in the projection booth to be able to unlock her completely within seven days and unless you spend clams it will take a good part of the week to get those items and be done with the main questline by Thursday? Did I miss something here or hasn’t Tinyco learned anything from the past 3 weeks? I guess it is good I had 100 reels left over from Phase 3 because I was able to get a little jump on Phase 4. So what was that you said about not getting the torches and pitchforks ready yet for Phase 4, Bunny? 🙂

You don’t have to finish the Questline in ONE day silly. Many Questlines move fast at several parts and slow at others. That is what I mean by pitchforks. NOT expecting it all to be done NOW. We obviously know things will take time for their Events. Just go at the pace the Questline sets. No one expects anyone to have all those items by one day. I will tell you though that getting Reels is going FAST. Just look at all the options I listed. Tons to choose from. 😉

The new concession stand is SO much better yay! I can plan which props to make with different reel options and cos I had stuff saved up I got about 100 reels already. Also Patty and Esther can earn glasses now, so they don’t feel so useless anymore 🙂

It sucks that you can’t even complete Return of Death at Drive-In Quest Pt III without triggering Ruth’s 7 Day unlock. My goodness, but I have 3 characters I have to unlock and about to be 4 with Patrick. I have to unlock Esther, Mayor West, & Tom Tucker which I’m very close to unlocking Esther if the boat and t.v. cooperate with me and drop the zit and notebook lol. You really have to purchase clams and buy the stuff that drops the required items to move forward faster.

My projection booth page for phase 4 has disappeared !! I did in game message tinyco . It was there earlier today and im also ready to move into phase 4 , 19 reels away from black clam. I’M lined up to finish that tonight ,put deaths dog on his mission, go to sleep n wake up and begin phase 4 …any suggestions or anyone else have this problem ? I did message tinyco but worried its to late n might not get help til monday setting me days behind when I’m only a little less than a day behind …

I have this problem too. Yesterday, when phase 4 had just started, I was able to view page 4 (where there is Patrick to unlock) of the projection booth. This morning I noticed I was back to 3 pages in the projection booth. I have still yet to unlock the black clam so I don’t know if \the fourth page will reappear once I’m done from page 3.
If anyone else had/has this problem and has managed to solve it somehow, I’d love to know how.

I have the same problem like you. Yesterday, when phase 4 had just started, I was able to view the week 4 prizes including Patrick – with a total of 4 pages to scroll in the projection booth.
Today, I noticed that I’m back to 3 pages in all. I still haven’t unlocked the black clam yet as I’m currently stacking up movie reels to try and get the petergeist house skin. Hopefully, once I manage to get booth of phase 3’s final two items, it will add me the week 4 projection booth prizes or else I’ll be at a stand still like this.
If anyone else has this problem and managed to solve it somehow, please let me know how as I’d like to progress in this and not remain at a halt.

Yes I had the same. Page 4 vanished until I bought the last prize from the previous phase. Assumed this was intentional, now I find that apparently I could have skipped the 100 reel prize! Not finding reels much easier to be honest given that you need 100 for prize two. Would be ok if I had over 100 soda saved up but I have been using every one I had to get reels through phase 3 (so starting from 0 of the particular item after each 5-10 reel purchase).
Saying that, am happy to see how it goes in the next day or two 🙂

Anyone else have the werewolves stop spawning? I even have the werewolf torture chamber and nothing. I am full on cannons and can’t craft anything else. And the only reason I crafted so many was because the werewolves were spawning constantly. I have messaged tiny co. A few times and have gotten no response. Even from those messages I sent about other things last week. I understand that they are a small company, but I also play flutter and splash which are small companies and they always get right back to me and resolve the issue. Bunny, I know there is nothing you can do about this and I thank you so much for your help. Just hoping this can get passed along to tiny co. Because they seem to do a great job of listening to you! Keep up the great work!

WORD OF CAUTION ABOUT CLOWNS… If you have one locked on target and it is purple and another one walks in front of it while you fire, it will hit that one. So, purple does not always equal good.
May be time to add more roads and remove maze especially if bat flocks generate at will now vs from taping on vampires. Will allow for more room and less crowding with characters walking all over/in front of each other.

Hoping you can clarify a few things for me.
I am in “Death at the drive in 3 part 8, so I should not be seeing phase 4 items correct? (I do not have the “Black Clam” )
yet i have a lot of phase 4 content in my game.
I have a crazy clown roaming my streets when I click on him it tells me he drops 1 red licorice yet the ability to make the item needed to kill him is not present.
also all of the 3d glasses items are available, as are the clam buys, the movie screen is showing the new insane clown movie.
So is this stuff I am not supposed to be seeing?, or did they change what is required to advance into phase 4?
Or am I just not up to date on what is going on in this event?

It depends. SOME items you can access, just not everything. The Questline is what will complete the Unlock. So seeing some items is normal. Full access once the Questline matches the Phase.

I know you’re busy Bunny, so If you don’t answer I understand I’m only posting in hopes maybe a fellow addict may be able to answer. I’m on phase 4 part 2 of the main Questline and I have no option to repair the brown car. I see a brown car, but no hammer over it like with the others. I don’t plan to repair the car for a while anyway, just wondering if I have to be at a certain point in the Questline or if there’s something wrong with my game?

Great to see Patrick is the second item in the movie booth this week! I had some reels carried over from week 3 so I unlocked him very quickly. Unfortunately the building is huge and didn’t fit, so it went to my inventory. Now it’s stuck there and I can’t place it. Tapping on it there just doesn’t do anything. Anyone else having the same problem?
Wished I could stop the bats. But just because I too am OCD but because with all the stuff running around in my silly town it makes the game lag badly.. Bombing them can be tricky since they can be long gone by the time my bomb actually hits the ground.

In case this is helpful to anyone else, the same fix as for Death’s Dog works here, i.e. go specifically to Menu (the “cracker” button) and then Inventory, then locate the asylum in the Event tab, tap on it and you will be able to place it as you should.
I recalled you had given a fix for Death’s Dog somewhere, all I had to do was finding it again and voila. Thanks again Bunny! Are TinyCo aware you are saving them a real fortune in support? 😀

To get it out of inventory try clicking on the menu button (where log-in is) then Go in inventory from there, this worked for me as a workaround but as per Tinyco it may not work for everyone.

The bats seem to have stopped spawning at least, but I got tired of clearing them and so a few flocks will stay for a while.
I would have appreciated a garlic fogger big enough to cover the whole town. Works for fleas.

These bats are crazy! I did notice they are only spawning on my roads. Once you bomb them, wait some seconds and more spawn on the road. It’s the easiest way to get 2-3 flocks without having to sit there for 10 mins tapping all over town trying to get them to migrate to the same spot! I hope this change isn’t permanent. It sucks! Good luck guys!

More on the bats.. They spawn 2 at a time and they will follow a maze. If you have your only road inside a maze it helps keep them together longer. I also sat in game tapping the first 2 keeping them in the maze and poof 2 more spawned on my road. Got 4 that way. They seem to spawn non stop. There may be a limit but I’ve cleared about 30 and every time I open the game more spawn.

Anyone know if clicking on the movie screen will start the timer for the petergeist house like it did with buddy cianci last week? I would like to start the part 4 questline but purposefully haven’t gotten the black clam yet while accumulating reels for the petergeist house.

It only Starts if you own the Black clam….if Not then you can still click on it to Get to phase 4…. The Asylum gate will stay locked until you Get the ship. Good thing is you dont have to wait until the timer is up. If you got the ship…..you can go on to the gate

So far I’m really enjoying Phase 4, I brought a few Red Whips, to go along with my Poppy the Salteds, Mr High Fructoses, and Melted Chocos, and so far I’ve had some really good Reel conversions, and I’ve already got 279 Reels. I also brought the Clown Gate, and love it’s animation, really creepy. Ghost Face was another instant purchase, and I was surprised to see that all the premium characters from this event had been put into a group, it might only be 20 Clams, but it’s better than nothing. There are so many awesome items to buy with 3D Glasses too, just hope I can get the ones I really want.

Still need about 60 reels to reach this phase and the concession stand exchange rates have been nasty today so very little progress (got about 30 so far today up to 7pm). Not sure how I could have got them any faster! Hopefully by the end of Saturday… which would be a day earlier than last week!

Crazy to include repairing Ruth’s car as part of the questline. Those that don’t read the helpful posts here will assuredly do so, most likely triggering it before prepared.

Basically you will need all the new movie projection booth prizes to get her. Pink Headbands required World’s Largest Tumbleweed or Make Patrick Have Jackie Gleason Nightmares and the Prosthetic Tongue requires the second to last prize the Mystery Mansion. However it might be a good idea to get a head start on her as those fifteen common Medicated Shampoos can only be dropped by Slasher Cat Cave which shares an eight hour drop with pumpkins or Make Patty Be Ignored By Boys which is a sixteen hour task. Hope this helps

Glad I’m not the only one whose OCD hates having them flying around at random.
The good thing is if you need sodas you can go to the projection booth and then tap the soda to see options and then hit GO to go right to a group of bats, but no more 15 or more in one shot.
Hate that the projection booth no longer shows the object that is being converted in the bigger pic. Have to click each and every one to see what you are spending. Not sure why they thought that was a needed change.

Definitely not the only ones… Driving my OCD crazy. I spent like five bombs at first trying to clear them all before realizing that five will be in your town no matter what as new ones spawn as soon as there aren’t five anymore.

Yay! Phase 4. Too bad I have to wait to move forward in the questline as I need to get Death’s dog which requires the Black Clam to give me the steaks. Add in exchange rates at the concession stand getting progressively worse since yesterday and I’m back to where i was at the end of phase 2. Looks like I will be 4 days behind again.
i was looking forward to killing clowns.

Weekly challenge hit for me after part 2. It requires clearing 10 clowns and is 3 days same as the past weeks.

So 10 clowns means 30 barrels for those wanting to stock pile before starting. 30 barrels will be 37.5 hours in queue and 60 hours total to earn the barrels, but some of that can be done in parallel to the queue time and your actual time will depend on how many of the characters/buildings you have.

No, because each barrel takes 1 1/4 hours to generate in the prop shack and you need 3 barrels for each clown. So 3.75 hours X 10 clowns = 37.5 hours.

I am guessing that the bat spawns are a glitch, but I am happy because I have 90+ garlics so I finally have a use for them and they do on occasion drop soda, so I am going to take advantage while I can to make use of most of my garlic bombs

I have been gracefully blessed with having the only option of trading 15 red whips for 5 reels as soon as I upgraded to phase 4. I can’t get any more reels until I collect 15 red whips for 5 reels. Being impeded from progressing as soon as I upgrade is a load of crap. I was only 2reels away from 100 too. Whatever. Terrible trading options for reels.

Upgraded to new movie, and still only offering me 5 reels for 15 chocolates. I have over 100 sodas & popcorn, which are totally useless. I’ve never seen them deliberately impede player progress like this without making adjustments.

It does seem to change between peeks, even if I didn’t gain any reels. Still trying to figure out the logic, or if there is any.

Schrodinger’s cool and all, but I’m still trapped in 15-chocolates-for-5-reels or nothing purgatory, they won’t respond to my in game messages, it just sucks. This is the first time in 1.5 years that I’ve pondered quitting. (And sorry for ranting, I’ll move to WTD tomorrow…)

I’ve been having the same issue since Monday. I let the chocolates pile up until I had over 100 of everything and still nothing has changed. Everything was going really well until then and now I’m still at least 70+ hours away from getting to Phase 4.

Bunny there’s a bunch of bats randomly appearing at my quahog!! This is so bad! It ruins a bit the maze strategy!! Did it also happen to u??

I’m still in phase 3 but since this happened only after phase 4 launched – I assume it’s related. All of a sudden my town is full of loose bat flocks. And they keep generating! More than a dozen and climbing. No vampires in sight. At first I thought they were stragglers from my last vampire hit, but I got six flocks from two vampires so that didn’t make sense.

Now there is one pair of vampires, still loads of bats. They’re like giant gnats. I dispatched the vampires and their bats in my maze, but I’m still lousy at loose bat hunting.
