- First up, you will have to be on Part 10 of Death at the Drive-in: Revenge of the Scythe
- Play the New Event Phase Questline to access ALL Content. With every new Event Phase there are “unlock points” for many items, so play through the Main Questline in order to see it all. I will Update Unlock points. if any, as I find them.

Note: A LOT of Questlines triggered for me with this last Phase. I assume it is due to this game did not have these Characters/Costumes from Halloween 2014 until more recently this year. So I will note the ones I see. This does NOT mean you will get them too. So if you do not, don’t worry. 🙂

Once I unlock Death’s Mom I’m through with this event. The Concession stand is poorly designed for the fact players have very limited choices you’re forced to accomplish to get the same amount of limited choices. Players should have a minimum of 5 options at all times.
I would try to get Albert, but that’s 750 Reels and I can barely get around 40-50 Reels a day with the system that’s in place, so he’s impossible to get. I don’t want any of the other decos, since I’ll have to put them in storage immediately after the event anyways.
I also don’t want to update me device to Phase 6 because it’ll reset the Concessions to only Ice Cream Cones again.

This has been a horrible event from tinyco and if it’s the shape of things to come then i may well have to give it up. So many obstacles in the way to stop you progressing at a decent rate unless you spend hundreds of clams which imo is pure greed. I would normally purchase the latest clam offer but I’m so far behind and annoyed with the event I refuse to part with my cash. Sorry to rant here Bunny but i think like a lot of people i see this as a place where frustrations can be aired which may have a chance of getting through to tinyco indirectly. At the end of the day this is just a game but one which i and many others have invested a lot of money over the time it’s been available why is why i/we feel so passionate about awful events like this.

Thing is… I do not want the rants ruing the hard work I put into the posts and details by using those helpful posts as a Pitchfork and Torch soap box. It doesn’t help anyone to have to read through those kind of comments when looking for an answer. We provide a very specific place for a reason for rants. Focuses it all in one place and makes it easier for us to direct TinyCo to that one spot. Keeps my helpful posts for what they’re intended for…. helping. 🙂
So if you need to vent, please do so ONLY on What the Deuce posts, otherwise our site will look nothing more than like TinyCo’s Facebook page and that is extremely unfair to us Addicts and what we do here on our site.

You’re absolutely right. You have a place set up for venting, so it’s not as though you’re pretending people can’t get frustrated. If you didn’t diligently moderate and enforce your very reasonable guidelines, the site would degenerate to piles of rants and claims that “you have to cheat because TinyCo [insert favorite vulgarity here]” to plow through before finding something useful (like the reddit forum, which is exasperating). It just takes a few posters acting like spoiled 12-year-olds at a grownup party to ruin things for the vast majority who would be respectful (not that we don’t benefit from reminders about the rules …).

All I can say to ANYONE that complains we constantly push to put rants and vents to one location… go to TinyCo’s Facebook page. Spend just a few minutes there. Take a count. Let me know how many ranting/venting comments full of profanity and spam you have to sort through before finding help or an answer to your questions… and USEFUL help at that. Just sayin. 😉
It is a perfect example of what we DON’T want our site to turn into because in the end… it is OUR site and not TinyCo’s. So we have a right to ask that it stays ours in every way. We want to help, not have a punching contest to see who can throw the “bestest punch” or the “biggest profanity”. This is not a Piss n Moan site. It is helpful. Always has been, and always will be until we stop doing what we do… well… til I stop now since Alissa has stepped away already. 😉

I won’t make it into this phase, but it doesn’t look like I’ll miss much. I’m still trying to get to Phase 5 (scream points are really hard for me), but at least I have enough reels to place Death’s mom. If I save all my cannon balls for the characters who get her stuff I may get her. I’ll be happy with just that.
I’ve played only two major events since I’m a new player, and I’ve got to say that I liked this event much more than Peterpalooza. I found it easier and I find it much better that you unlock show characters and not celebrities. I mean, Ricardo and the Deaf Guy were much more difficult than the Deaths and Meg’s friends, and came at the very end. It felt like a lot of work for nothing; just celebrities I don’t care about.

So I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem, and I didn’t know where else to post it. I’ve been waiting for Headless Horsemen to spawn, and when I tap the movie screen, the countdown for them says 21min, 37 sec. I came back 30min later, and tapped again… still 21min, 37 sec. I logged out & in again, tapped again… 21min37 sec. The countdown runs while I watch it, but when I back out & retap… it resets. I messaged Tinyco, but no response yet. Anyone else have similar issues? I’m running out of monsters (Vamps, ghosts, etc…) and I think they’re all stuck because of this. Anyone, or just me?

I’m currently in phase 5 with 300 reels and I’ve held off crafting the prize before hookhand Albert so as not to start the 24hr timer. Just wondering if there is any benefit to entering phase 6? Are the options for collecting reels better, or the same?

My movie isn’t spawning hollywood horrors. Do I have to start the next movie before it will start again or should I report that to customer service? It says 4 swirling ghosts will be spawned in 3H 28M 10S, but it says the same thing every time I click the movie. Even tried spending clams to speed it up and lost the clams but nothing was released.

Is there any point in completing Phase 6’s main questline Apocalypse Now? As in – will it give any kind of reward in completing the last part of the Apocalypse Now questline or not? I’m asking this so that I may strategize which quests to complete and which to ignore.
Also, do you know if we’ll be having a MOVIE PROJECTION BOOTH and a CONCESSIONS STAND deco in a mystery box or winnable somehow as I’d really love to have one of each in my town?

So much for giving us an extra week to catch up. With this new content I’m even further behind than I already was. The reels are just not coming fast enough for me. I’m still working on unlocking Death’s Mom’s House. At this rate I wont even finish Hook Hand Albert in time 😦

I’m not even to week 5. Hopefully there are other ways in the future to unlock some of the characters, like maniac pope. The reels are killing me, and I’m playing as regularly as possible. I also bought most of the premium characters, they aren’t super helpful. Clearly I’ve not figured out the trick.
Really disappointed that super devil drops are so few items. I should’ve come here before buying. Thanks for the info!

So with the Death by Design line, My town is so smooshed up and crowded, I can’t tell what I have or don’t have, and after a month, I can’t even remember what I got in the beginning! *chuckle* I wish there was some sort of indication of whether or not you bought an item, since with several of them, you can by multiples.

I can’t see me being able to fully collect all the items before the event finishes, I might just about manage hookhand Albert. This event has been very hard but i have enjoyed it and the constant additions/changes have stopped me getting bored of grinding it.

Hey working hard on Phase 5 I will be so happy if I can complete it and get Albert for the 700 reels. I almost have enough reels for Charlie. I think I like this event the best so far and I have been playing since Christmas last year…..On another note does anyone know if Ghostbuster Peter and Quagmire’s quests still happen once the Halloween event ends bc I just won them and I need to use them for the garlic and magnets for the event and cant spare them for this side quest. Greatly appreciate it and hope you had a wonderfully spooky Halloween Bunny….Thanks

The options at the concession stand during Phase 5 were really great for me! I was able to obtain a ton of reels and finished the week with around 2,888 of them. As soon as Phase 6 started, I was able to get every one of the prizes including the Maniac Pope. I still have around 1,000 reels left as well. It is too bad that I skipped getting the skin for the Griffin’s house, as I would be able to get it now (if it was still available). Do you think there is any point in collecting any more reels now? I think I may be done with it.

They made getting ice cream so dang hard. It’s stopping me from progressing in this game. I’m halfway through stage 5.. no way I’m getting to the end of this one.. and not 1 premium character. Frustrating.

Yeah I figured this was coming. I think I’ll be lucky enough to unlock deaths mom as I’m still halfway through 4. This is the most disappointing event yet and on my favorite holiday too. I did buy ghost face tho because he’s my fave so I’m happy I at least will leave with him in my game. Religious freemium players can usually afford to buy or have enough to get one premium character per event. I was also kind of hoping they’d bring back alien and predator.

On the Death Welcome sign – I had to re-buy some of the 3D items to assure I had bought them all. The game could not tell I had bought some of them earlier in the event.
On the Maniace Pope FaceSpace entry – it still is not indicated as being available.

I don’t think I’ll make it to week 6.
The concession stand is killing me, last batch 2/3 needed ice cream. When I finally cleared I only got two options, each with 25 ice cream. I still need to unlock Death’s Mother, and with the Ice cream I only have 53 reels towards Cheesie Charley. I can’t see any way to get the reel to finish week 5, and with 3 characters collecting ,magnets I can’t complete the main quest line (still on part 5)
I only get canned responses from TinyCo, that everything is as it should be and they’ll take feedback in mind for future events.
On and off this was a great event, but I think poor planning killed a lot of the potential on this one.

Really thought they would have put in a way to get more reels with this last phase. Seems the vast majority of people are lagging behind. Some of which will never even see Phase 6.

Ok just did the math. I currently collecting for the snake room. If you add that, Albert and all the new stuff from this week you need 2520 reels in 7 days (360/day). Impossible without spending a crap load of clams. I guess this will be the first event that I don’t get all the characters from an event. And I have played constantly (as in at least hourly) throughout this event. Sad that I will miss out after playing the game from almost the beginning. 😦

All I would suggest is keep playing. As we all know and you should too if playing since day one is that they CONSTANTLY keep us on our toes with Changes. Who knows what else could come in this Final Week. 🙂

Its the worst tuned, worst designed event so far.
It was mainly the reels that killed it, no way to get them quick enough and the cost of items was far far too high

At least this time you get the Ice Cream Reel_# so you can tell what option your on. Sucks its nothing but decorations in the reels you have clog through. I do have to say though its a lot easier to get reels in these final stages then the previous ones.

I’m at death in drive in part 7. And only part way through the last projection booth. I’m lucky to get an item every 1-2 days. At this rate I might just play for hook hand Albert and forget the last part. I play very frequently and this is nearly impossible to get through. Even with the extended week I don’t think I’ll even come close. Pretty dissapointing.

I hear this. It’s kind of misleading for Tinyco to have said it was an “extra” week anyway – as to me that implied an extra time period to mop up all of the stuff you might have been struggling with.
Instead they have released a full weeks worth of items to buy with reels and a bunch of other tasks to boot – where were these items going to fit in their original plan? Seems they were always going to have this week and, for those that don’t drop a fortune in clams, it is now impossible to get everything.
I’m still working my way through the last weeks stuff as well. So may as well try for Albert too – then just ignore the rest. So many events now are designed purely for premium players and it’s getting tiring.

Realize that it still is an extra week. But they’ll also toss in additional items for those that are done and want something to do. Just because it’s in the game doesn’t mean you HAVE to get it. Those final Booth items I always perceived as “Premium”. It’s why they’re tagged frakkin hard.
If you read the questlines, you’d see Phase 5 was the end and this new one was tossed together last minute. 😉

I went through and bought every deco that was available for 3D glasses just to get the 20 ice cream cone drop and Death’s Welcome Sign is just a deco in my game. No timer and no ice cream drop. I hope this can be fixed. I only did it for the ice creams. I would buy two of everything (if I knew how many 3D glasses I had) just to get the ice cream drops!

Bunny, since the update dropped in my game, Albert disappeared and I finally collected the four magnets to slay him for the weekly challenge. Trying to go directly to him from the quest button triggers a message that he in unavailable in the game. Is this a glitch or is he gone forever now that the new content has dropped? I finally triggered the last weekly challenge and I would hate to have my timer expire and miss out after getting the first four.

I had 1920 reels saved up so I was able to get everything including Maniac Pope. He is not showing up in Face Space which means I can’t get the 20 clams. It says character not available but I have him doing his task.

Clams I assume to rush/buy some of the collections. I couldn’t have gone much faster and I have 5/175 reels for the Dragons Den and then there is one more prize after that which luckily doesn’t needs many reels (not counting the bonus prize). Nearly all of the new options that appear for reels at any one time in Phase five require ice cream which is the time-limiting factor. I also still need a few spatulas for Death’s Mum. Really thought that the ‘extra’ week that presumably wasn’t planned, would be a catch-up week with just a little extra to keep the big spenders happy. Wasn’t expecting a whole new projection booth, but luckily there is nothing there that seems worth the hassle so I can focus on finishing phase 5 (probably another 2-3 days to get enough reels) and then the phase 6 story line

Two hours into Phase 6 and I have unlocked everything. I have 1200 reels saved from Phase 5 so still have to do some exchange. And you are right, the pope is not showing up in FaceSpace. Guess they did not expect people to unlock him this quickly.

He’ll be in the New Characters section. It’s the same bug that TinyCo had with Patrick. They’ll fix it if they’re clued in on it.

Is there a method I’m missing or did you have to spend clams to save up so many reels? I have 100+ water balloons, 100+ cannonballs, etc, but not enough hours in a day to craft and kill and cash in for 1900+ reels…

No tricks. I realized at week 3 the tool shed crafting time is too long so there is no way not to spend clam if I want everything so I bought those broken vending machines that directly drops popcorn, candy, etc so I can by pass the craft-time limitation. Each machine gives the equivalent of about 30 reels per day so you can see how after a few weeks I would have hundreds of reels leftover. It is far more economical then rushing tasks or premium characters (which I have also bought)

WTF?? Now Hook Hand Albert is not always available??? There’s only one reel option in the concession stand and that requires ice cream, but no Albert. Too bad so sad. Unreal. This game just gets worse and worse.

Not sure as to what you are going on about. Albert is ALWAYS available. Kill one and another shows up. See Phase 5 post when he was released.

No, Bunny, he wasn’t. He did disappear and was listed as not available. When he did reappear, his hit points had regenerated – so three whole magnets down the drain.
And we waited the whole week for things to change or more help to be introduced but contrary to your optimism nothing turned up – a whole week of being limited to 20 to 30 reels per 8 to 12 hours. Nowhere near enough to play through Phase 5.

well it’s official for me, i’m sadly at least 2 week behind, i don’t even have Patrick to finish the last week even, kinda sad that, i’m so far behind, as if i don’t spend the 40 clams left for the shoes, i’ll end up probably next week to craft the last shoe

Boo (not in a scary way), at TinyCo re-releasing Super Devil at 260 Clams after their mistake of accidentally releasing him at 125 Clams! I bet a lot of people that bought him at 125 Clams are mad at the refund and price jump. I was planning to buy him at the original price, but I’m going to save my 163 Clams to buy Jake and Brain Dead Horse.

You might want to re-consider at least BD Horse. He is only used at the very beginning and (so far) never again. Jake has at least been used.

I only just unlocked phase 5 today. I’ll not get to phase 6 before the end of the event. There’s very little detail about how to help raise the levels anyhow. I’ve a couple of buildings that give me 1 cleaver for x amount of time but other than that no idea what increases it.

Buy a crap load of Cornstalks. Your Scream Level will jump dramatically.

Just send in every character you can spare to get 3D Glasses. I have 8 characters that can get them constantly every 4 hour, which is 9 Glasses (Meg has 2 hours). I also have Freddy and Alien, who drop every 24 hours.

I noticed a weird glitch that hopefully hasn’t been reported on already related to scream points. I noticed I wasn’t getting any scream points for purchasing items and have been consistently behind in scream level. I took Vonvile’s advice and tried buying a bunch of cornstalks and still got no scream points. Since I was buying corn, I decided to build a maze, which led me to pull the few cornstalks out of inventory, and voila… started getting scream points again.
So, it appears the items in my storage have somehow stopped any duplicate items from dropping scream points. Not sure how long I’ve been sabotaging myself but wanted to share if this is new information. If this has already been discussed, I apologize and feel free to just delete this post.

Yes. This is posted multiple times on this site. If you have items in Inventory the game will show an inventory icon next to the item in purchase shopping cart menu. And it will pull from there first. This prevents accidentally buying something you already have in Inventory

Sorry Bunny if this specific issue was really posted about multiple times but I think you may have confused what I was trying to share. I understand that items in the inventory will be removed when trying to purchase them but this wasn’t the case. I had two bloody footprints in my inventory and when I purchased more, the game was letting me buy them but was not giving me the scream points (and it did not remove the items from my inventory). I then noticed that I had a couple in my inventory, so I removed them, bought a few with no Halloween items in my inventory, and I got scream points again.

But that is EXACTLY what I am saying. You have items in your Inventory, so you won’t get points for the same item you already have. The system was defaulting to storage first, not a new purchase, and pulling those already bought back out. Once ALL pre-purchased are out of Inventory Storage and back in the playing field… then you can keep buying more. The moment you put even one back in, you will run into the same thing. It will pull the Storage first, then let you buy new ones. Safety default to avoid buying same item more than once. Just like I said. 😉

I’m not sure what is going on here, I feel like I’m being Punked. The items that were in the inventory were not removed when I purchased more items, they stayed there and I was able to purchase more… without getting addition scream points. I completely understand what you are saying about stored items being placed before new items are purchased, this was not the case. I would not expect to gain more xp just for placing already purchased items. So to be clear, I had two in the inventory, I bought ten more, and was left with ten on the board and two in my inventory. Your response implies that what should have happened is that the first two I bought would’ve been drawn from storage (with no xp gained) and than the additional eight items would’ve been purchased with a gain of xp. I am well aware of this, and my original point is that this did not happen. The two items stayed in storage and the additional ten items where purchased and xp wasn’t credited.
I’ve already reported this to TinyCo and got feedback about a developer flaw that may be the cause. This was not meant to be some sort of weird back and forth, since this is your site and you do an amazing job with all the info, but I found it to be a critical part of my progress and thought others would benefit from the info. I was really just expecting either A.) thanks, this is new to us and we’ll pass it along, or B.) We already knew about this specific issue and you’re an idiot for not searching properly.
Even though your initial response was essential B, I find it frustrating that I took the time to clarify my original issue and it seems as though you completely ignored the second post and commented on exactly what I clearly stated wasn’t the issue.
Either way, by now this is a dead issue, since most people are probably level 17, but I had to make one last attempt to clarify what I was dealing with since your response was not relevant to my issues. I’m on this site a lot and try to do my research before commenting, because you seem very busy and I get tired of reading the many “look at the comment your posting on for the answer” or “read three posts back for the answer”, so I didn’t want to add to your work-load but I clearly have and I apologize for that.
