Future of Family Guy Addicts

Hey there Clammers!

I am almost through with Training. Final stuff happening Tomorrow. However, there will be another hurdle ahead… Alissa will be giving birth soon.

This means that I may need to start limiting the posts on this site even more (unless more really active Addicts Helpers want to assist with Main Posts, Questlines, Etc too). Due to this, I am curious as to what posts you mainly are wanting to see on the site, so I can focus on putting those up first.

Bunny Device

Here are the Basic Posts I normally focus on:

Main Breakdown of Released Items (like Phase launches, Start of Event)
Main Questlines
101/Help Posts

Are there other ones as well you would like me to focus on? Let me know. In the meantime hang in there with me while a lil mini Addicts is about to join the crew and I will be running both sites Solo until Alissa’s recouped enough to return. πŸ™‚

  1. I mainly need the mechanics of new phases and the main walkthrough, but the main thing I need are the gotchas.

Timed events are my number one priority. What triggers it, what will I need to do to complete it, and what will I get if I do, and how long do I have?

I’d also be willing to help with moderation. Once ya’ll give us the main idea I usually understand and could answer questions as well as OK the comments for posting.

  2. Have you thought about selling the site? Certainly this site must generate significant ad revenue. And I would imagine TinyCo would have a vested interest in keeping this site running. $$$$ πŸ™‚

    • BWAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHA on “significant revenue”. Not to mention the cost to run them. Just to give you an idea, it takes 20-30 THOUSAND Clams to speed each Event. That is per device. If “rolling in the dough” was the case… Myself, Wookiee, and Alissa wouldn’t have our actual jobs (some of us 2) on top of the sites. πŸ˜‰

      • You must be able to work something out with tiny co.(at least free claims) ??? I mean you guys are basically providing a service for a company that they should be paying staff for, the game is not exactly user friendly, there is a reason why so many of us use the site.

        Like

        • They have provided some clams to one device. But that’s it. We use multiple devices to pull game info and still spend a lot of our own money to fund our sites. It takes a LOT more than just Clams in the game to keep a site active.

What lil drops the ads on the site give are minimal and with most people using ad blockers, those ads really don’t help much in the long run when the cost for us is much much greater to run the sites.

          Like

          • I know it takes a lot more than free claims, I’m honestly just surprised how little support you guys get, the idea that not only are you not getting paid for what you do but that you have to pay to do it, to me seems ludicrous. I think you guys do an amazing job and I would have given up on this game a long time ago(probably having flung my phone against the wall in a fit of rage) had it not been for this site, now I don’t want to step on any toes(you may not see the current set up as a bad thing) but maybe you could get your site users to politely request for more support from Tiny Co.(web cost, payment, more claims etc), bearing in mind that this game generates a lot of money and your work contributes to that.

Questlines and timed events are the most important to me, anything else is just gravy.

  4. I too appreciate everything that you ladies do on this site to help us. I could never put it as eloquently as the others have already stated. I feel that we need the basics for game play as you have already mentioned. I would like to continue to see the WTD and the open thread comments just to see what other addicts are up to.

The other thing I would like to continue is the polls. I imagine that they may be time consuming and this is where I offer my assistance. I’m not tech savvy, but I do have math smarts and free time. You set up the poll and I’ll crunch the numbers and report.

I feel that with the loyal community you have built, we can all help the addicts site continue to flourish.

  5. i apologize in advance if my comment turns out super long and first i always appreciate your works Bunny AND Alissa! If it wasn’t for you girls I wouldn’t be all that sucessful in my game and probably would have quit and uninstalled the game MONTHS AGO lol But my opinion is I like the questline walkthroughs the best just because of the fact I can look ahead on what is needed or which character will be needed in the next parts of the questlines. Idk about anybody else, but for me those walkthroughs and if course the posts of brand new phases when they’re released in our games. They inform and let me know what to expect in the coming phases and questlines. I also like how you guys sometimes type and post blogs talking about OTHER stfur outside of Family Guy show and FGTQFS. But more or so my favorites would have to be the walkthrough posts!

Really painful as i lost one easy task that i just had simple building collection with 11hrs but 24 hrs out killed this!

Repeat often, it’s only a game! I dont need to toss my ipad across the room!

  8. The main questlines for events are very helpful to me, but the things that I apreciate the most are your tips on exclusive items/characters/costumes (like slasher cat, patty, ruth, etc.) that are timed and that I would normally fail at.
Thank you so much for all your help!

  9. I agree with just about everyones opinion about what things to focus on, One idea that may help with the “Comment awaiting moderation” might be to have a Bunny Addicts facebook page where people can ask questions that would appear to everyone and that way other people who know the answer could post the answers,, this way the integrity of the “FGTQFS ADDICTS” Site would be maintained but people could still get answers to their questions without relying on you or Alissa to have to log on.
a Facebook page under your control would be used as a secondary, if people are being rude on there you can block them from your page, if things get Waaay out of hand you can always delete the page.
Seeing as how there is likely to be a 1-2 week event, possibly 2 short events before the next big event, you could use the Bunny Addicts Facebook page as a test run, if everyone treats it with respect, then you could see how it goes for a big event, if people abuse it, then you can search for another option.
The biggest thing is,, because events are sooo very time sensitive, people want their questions answered quickly, but that is really just asking too much form just 2 sometimes 1 Addict to handle, having an open facebook page where other players can answer all of those questions that get answered over and over again should help alleviate a fair share of having to answer many of the players questions.
PS. You never did respond to my Halloween Story I wrote for you,,did you like it?

    • I’m so sorry. I thought I did. It was AWESOME!! I approved it and commented… but sounds like the comment got lost in mix. Sorry.

FYI… there IS a Facebook Addicts page directly kinked to this site. Twitter too. All posts are pushed to them the second I send them out here live. But it’s very quiet there. People comment off n on.

Thing is I’m trying to make it so people don’t have to jump to many spots if they don’t have too. Still working on possible moderation help.

      Like

      • I think you could have a lot of help for moderation. People who don’t have time to write things but who you could trust to weed out the inappropriate comments. You could have a veritable army of people who could approve or reject posts whenever they happen to log in. I would volunteer for that. I’m not on too often, so I probably wouldn’t be the most useful choice, but I could browse posts when I do log on and I’m sure that plenty of other people would be willing to do the same. With enough people, the moderators wouldn’t have to be very active because there would probably be someone on most hours of the day. I think most of the fans of this sight would probably volunteer.

The challenge would be in making sure that a moderator could be trusted, but you could probably remove moderator status to someone who doesn’t work out right? And you could have general rules that you could give to potential moderators like: no cussing, no personal attacks to other people, no vulgar comments, etc.

  10. Bunster,

First – I don’t know how you guys do it, major kudos.

Second – Don’t feel bad that you have to pull back, real life comes first

Third – I wish I could help you, but when was the last time you saw one of my feature-length monologues. Real life – it intrudes in MY game time.

Fourth – anything that provides the information that keeps us from falling into the TinyCO pit of despair. I am sorry to have to say this, their foresight and ability to learn from history is not so good – as evidenced from the number of times they have to modify game play FOR IDENTICAL PROBLEMS with each event. Anytime there is some questionable thing going on in my Quahog, I know I can turn to the addicts. I might not like the answer – but at least I will know what’s going on.

I.e., drop the fluff if you have to, but keep the basic game play information coming (if you can and stay sane).

  11. First what an AWESOME JOB. Has been done on this site!!! I couldn’t advance as good in the game w/out it. As I find all my answers here. I think the Main Quest Line is the most important, followed by the timers if a character has one. It’s nice to see where characters come from, but I truth I don’t read them ever..others might be I think that is one post that you could elimate. But whatever you decide to do I’m sure we will all still come here for answers!
    Have a Blessed Weekend!

  12. Hi Bunny

Firstly apologies as I started this event telling myself I would try help you by dropping some posts but unfortunately just after my first one I suffered 2 deaths in the family and it threw those plans out the window. But I hope to be able submit more filler posts in future. I’m not sure I’ve got the clam spend to do justice to the essential stuff but if I can help that way I will. But just know we know you’re only 1 person, if albeit a rather special one, and can only do so much, and believe me it’s appreciated.

Now to answer your question, I see these as crucial especially during Tinyco events.

Main Breakdown of Released Items (like Phase launches, Start of Event)
    Main Questlines

Another area someone could help is possibly moderating basic comments that don’t need answers to questions.

But the health of yourself, Alissa and baby are paramount, so for once put yourselves first.

  16. Bunny,

I totally get that you may have to scale back time on the site. (stupid life getting in the way) I think you have a good idea what to focus.

The other thing I go to your site for is game issues, bugs, and lockouts.

I have no idea how you get so much info posted for us.

I keep envisioning Alyssa’s avatar as her with a tablet in her hands and her foot rocking a baby basket. (maybe we can get the kid to be an addict lol)

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  17. I like the main quest run downs, it helps knowing who to keep free and who to send on long task. Also like knowing what has a time limit on it, and what characters drop event items. I have enjoyed helping with the recaps of the new episodes just wish I could help out more. I usually get behind on the events and never finish them but that’s life. Thank you for everything, I would be lost without this site.

  20. One person’s opinion:

The game could not even be navigated through without your posts at the start of events/phases. For players, I think those are paramount. Coupled with that are the main quest lines in an attempt to avoid sending someone on a 24 hour task who might be needed. Again, paramount and the game could not be played successfully without this road map. Player quest lines are secondary. Especially during high-stress events. I get to the them when I get to them.

Any information about glitches or how to handle a difficult task/challenge would be next on the list of importance IMO. If a majority of people are struggling with something and your guidance along with tips from players who are experiencing it is invaluable to help us dig out of a hole.

Character profiles, “Where the heck”, etc., are great fun and great reading while not immersed in a high-intensity event, but not really helping game play IMO. Characters who have item-dropping tasks are listed within the event/phase releases and that’s where I refer to make sure I have everyone at work to help me in the game. I know people want to know if characters are voiced and what they say and I get the importance for people, especially when purchasing a premium character, so perhaps that could be somehow incorporated in other posts as opposed to have to take the time for a separate post.

Your workload is tremendous and many have said it many times that we couldn’t even play the game without your efforts so THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! I hope you get enough quality feedback to make decisions that benefit your new challenges and make things easier for you.

    • I agree with Billy 100%. The help that you provide to the player community at the beginning/during of an event around main questlines, timed tasks, and glitches, IMO is essential these days.

Helping us to navigate the inevitable surprises that TC puts out would be near impossible to complete without your expert guidance and tutelage. Not too mention all of the key updates/information/feedback you get first hand from TC, that none of us could get on our own.

Cant even count the number of times I’ve wiped my brow thinking “Thank Goodness FGA has the answer.” And for what it’s worth, I know I’m not alone when I say that, if you need to lean back on US (the FGA community you have built) to help with contributions, information, polls or whatever to keep this site robust with content the way we have all come to love and appreciate it for, then sign me up!

      • Yeah I agree. Those help posts like how to unholy nuns don’t really help me because those things are explained in game enough for me, but a lot of people seem to really need them. The things I use the most are phase breakdowns to see if there are timed crap to quest for or such. Also main quest lines. Everything else is cool, but keeping up with your real life is obviously more important than posting. You’ve got so much work on your hands, I don’t even know how you handle it all, but thank you.

    • Seems like more than one person’s opinion, I too agree.

Would like to add though that (fast) comment moderation would be high on the priority list as well. When other players can help eachother, you can focus on providing main info.

      • Issue with that is the access to our site, details, etc. We’ve been burned and abused before, so to give someone access to the Addicts becomes a trust issue. It’s not easy. All of us have to be OK with it.

        • You might just not worry about answering questions when in a time bind, just releasing comments after making sure they are ok. Then people can help each other faster and you can save some time. Moderation is worth the effort, though, it really does make a big difference.

          Like

        • I don’t mean access to the site, but helping out through the comments. As long as they get approved quickly, there would be less writing to do for you (I’d imagine).

Not sure if it’s possible on WordPress, but maybe particularly helpful comments could be made sticky?

Hey Bunny, the main questlines are the most helpful thing for me. A basic break down or heads up of the phase is great, for obvious reasons like slasher cat/patty etc (basically stuff that is timed). More than happy to continue helping with extras like character profiles/side quests if you need.
