Hey there People of Guilder!
Bouncing by with some help with A Grimm Knight in Quahog Event. The main questions I keep seeing over n over is where to get the Materials collected from around the game.
In this post I will be going over some of the drop locations for the Magic Beans.
For more information on the Main Event, go to the Event Page HERE.

KNIGHTS IN TRAINING
By just tapping on these guys and making them Fall Down (lol, I giggle every time) you can earn +3 Magic Beans from each one.
ARCHERY
There are many options to get Magic Beans from the Archery. YOUR results will vary. (See the update notes on Golden Eggs in the Q&A post.)
You can get 30 Magic Beans or 40
Magic Beans from sending Characters in the Archery.
DRAGONS
Now here is where it gets REALLY Interesting. The payouts say a MINIMUM of what you can get for Battling the Dragons at each level… however, the payouts are actually a HUGE amount more than what it listed. For an example, I will post MY PERSONAL RESULTS from My game on the Dragon Battles and the Payouts I saw.
Blue Dragon | Magic Beans Listed![]() |
Magic Beans Paid![]() |
1st Battle | 50 | 200 |
2nd Battle | 120 | 200 |
3rd Battle | 280 | 2000 |
4th Battle | 480 | 2000 |
White Dragon | Magic Beans Listed![]() |
Magic Beans Paid![]() |
1st Battle | 20 | 100 |
2nd Battle | 50 | 800 |
3rd Battle | 120 | 500 |
4th Battle | 245 | 2000 |
As you can see, I was getting a LOT more than what was listed. The differences did vary and I am not sure what factored into it. I just know that my Magic Bean count is off the chart now due to Dragon Battles. Feel free to share yours in the comments below.
As you can see, there are a LOT of places to get the Magic Beans. It may seem “slow” at first until you start unlocking more Buildings, get Sir Peter & Westley, and start on the Dragon Battles… but until then, there are still options to get them by just going in your game every day. You will get there. Remember, we have an entire month of this Event. More options will come and More Characters will help.
Where are you on your Magic Bean Count? Is there a specific item you are working toward? Anyone you are close to getting? Have a favorite? Other tips for fellow Players? Let us know.

I keep seeing to spend the beans that I have to go to thy shoppe keep to exchange them out, I have noooo idea where that is and I have well into the 5 digit bean count, and there seems to be nothing left for me to do, no challenges whatsoever. All have been done. Am I missing something?

What is it you’re trying to do? If you bought everything and unlocked everything than all there is to do is wait for the next phase and new content.

Is there anyway to check the amount of potions you have when the dragon is m.i.a.?

If you do NOT kill him completely to his highest level and send him to Cool Down, no.

How many people have Westley by now? I think I’m about where other freemium players are. Here’s my stats:
1,514/2,000 Magic Beans
4/32 Dragon Scales
5/18 Wooden Water Pails
0/15 True Love
3/8 Bandit Masks
I don’t have the Black Knight Castle. I need one more Golden Egg. I wish the Arrows had better drop rates than rare.

No where near getting Westley. I haven’t even been able to battle a dragon yet!! The drop rates on some of the “always” tasks or buildings are NOT dropping. On some I’ve seen absolutely nothing!
My conspiracy theory: they’re trying to weed out all the freemium players by making it nearly impossible to advance without spending clams.

What items are not working on “always” drops? If something isn’t working as intended report it right away.

Ok, I’m a geek and I did the math.
Your best rate of return on beans from Dragon matches comes from attacking the blue Dragon three times (a fraction more than 32 beans per potion). Attacking the white four times is almost as good at about 31 beans per potion.
For scales you get an even trade on the first attack on the blue and the first two attacks on the white. After that you spend more potions than you gain scales.
For hats it is s a tie between four attacks on the white and three on the blue. Both net you a little more than 1.5 hats per potion.
I wouldn’t waste 16 potions on the blue, the rate of return isn’t worth it, better to save them and start from level 1.
This assumes potions are you limiting factor. If you have tons of potions I’d still wait for the white one then attack him at the top level till the potions run out. You get more of everything per potion than you do on the blue at max level.

So I bought the Black Knight and The Golden Egg Goose with clams, didn’t feel like buying the magic bean greenhouses since the main currency in events is usually always abundant. I actually had all the items in the bazaar by sunday nightish and Sir Peter by monday night, since then i have been crushing the dragon everytime he pops up and im sitting on 9k magic beans now with nothing to do with them yet :P! I just unlocked westley tonight and i am all set for the next phase tomorrow, so bring on the grimm tales TinyCo! And thank You as always Bunny for Your quick and complete breakdown of all the stuffs in our favorite lil towns!

I’m at 1,418 beans and have all of the Bazaar buildings. I want to get Westley to help with potions, but the Dragon Scale requirement seems out of reach. Sir Peter is my only source for potions, and Dragon Scales only come from dragon battles.

Patience. It will take a lil time to do each item. Just focus on getting Sir Peter and stocking up on some potions. Then when you have a good amount, take a run at the Dragon.

Do you have the counts of potions for each battle? I think I’ve seen 2 then 4 then 7. Haven’t gotten beyond that so I don’t know how many I’d need stored to make a bigger run.
It does seem to do a better job of alternating what potion it asks for. So far it’s always asked for the one I had the most of, but it could be coincidence, not enough data yet.
At least it hasn’t asked for the same color twice in a row.

Ah that makes sense. I wondered how my bean count took a major jump. Cause the rewards from Dragons wasn’t that high (on the list).

Anybody still have leftovers from the Star Trek event? I get this notification: “Your away team is done with its mission on ARCHERY. Hopefully no one was wearing red.”

Do you think we NEED to purchase everything from the bazaar? I have all of Sir Peter’s chest plates and want to skip Ye Olde Drunkin Clam to use beans on other things. Unless when the next page appears I will need to have everything from this first page. Thoughts?
On a side note, I am getting magic beans enough to keep me happy. But I cannot get swords…. Peter has trained at least 12 times and he has only dropped swords once :(. I would love to have Sir Peter this week.

Me too. Still waiting for the swords to unlock Sir Peter.

Me too…I’ve only been able to send Peter to practice a handful of times because I get about 1 arrow per all characters per round. And for the swords being shown as the highest probability for me, not getting them…

I’m not sure, but I think DAVENOLIVER is commenting on the arrival of an email, yesterday, announcing this post, that didn’t show up on the site until today. I received that email as well… Are you moderating your own posts now? 🙂

Sounds like the post went “rogue live” which can happen and has before. It means the post went live when it wasn’t supposed to for a split second, and triggered an email “new post” automatically.
I was more curious as to why he was posting all the dialog. Had he just said “I got an alert and the post is not there”, would have made more sense. I wasn’t sure there was a spelling error or something in it. 😉
