Again, remember these are CHALLENGES for a reason. It is very likely that Clams WILL have to be spent to complete them. Hence why TinyCo usually only offers them to Premium Players.

These are also COMPLETELY OPTIONAL. You do not have to tackle these Challenges. You can pass on them if you so choose. The choice… is YOURS. Make the decision of what will make YOU happy.

There you have it, 3 New Options in the game for you to decide on.

Are you going to tackle any of these Challenges? Already taken any? Tips you want to share with fellow Players? Let us know.

  1. My War Rig is too small and my Kitty is too big.

There’s a dirty joke in there somewhere. I wonder if Tinyco did that intentionally.

  2. Just as well that this challenge is way out of my league. I’m usually strongly for all things feline and am always asking for more cats! more cats! more cats! in the game. But considering how hard it is to work around Giant Chris lumbering through the streets of my Quahog, maybe a giant mutant kitten isn’t the greatest idea for me, adorable though the sight of her grooming herself is (probably after a meal made up of unmutated humans and my Tribble family). Of course, I could send giant kitty and giant Chris off to live together in the woods.

The earlier challenges showed up for me, even though I’ve never purchased clams with realspace money. But those weren’t hard to complete. This one is at a whole different level. It still might show up since I won’t reach phase 4 until later on Wednesday.

  3. What a mess these mutants have become. As part of the kitty quest I took out five of them which were on 8 hour tasks for over two days while mutated. Cured them and it didn’t register the task they were on. Wrote support and they said this is expected behavior. smh!

    • Hmmmm odd. Write in again.

    • The only way they would not go back on task and complete is if they were interrupted on their way back from whence they came after the cure. So if you were careful not to touch them at any point, it is not normal for them to not continue or complete their originally assigned task. I learned this the hard way from the werewolves- had to train myself NOT to tap them at any point even if I was curious about what they were doing. Wait until they vanish back inside a building or start doing something outside, then it’s safe to tap to find out their schedule. Otherwise they forget what they are doing and you lose any material drops.

For essential material collectors, I keep a record of when I set them a task so I know when their task timer is done, since it’s impossible to tell while they are mutated. That way I don’t waste a syringe on somebody who would just get mutated back again before completing the task to get toilet paper or nets. I look for specific mutants before shooting. I have to ignore Tanlines daily quests that involve any members of The Frequent Mutators Club, just isn’t worth the bother.

  4. I really, really hope they extend the event by at least a week to help the 99% of us that are/were stuck because of the helmets. I unlocked Peter and Olli both this morning. I’m at level 13 and working like crazy to get to the week four content, but I am on challenge 6 where you have to kill 2 roaches and 8 fish…too many clams to speed this up and need at least 12 hours to complete. I will only just be able to start week four by the end of the event.

  5. I doubt 99% of the players will have a chance to complete this with the major Helmet SNAFU that happened. The timing is impossible with how much time is left.

    • It was likely by design to force people to spend clams on this event.

      • Nobody can force you to spend clams … A better way to look at it is that they want to provide extra stuff for people who do buy clams, as an incentive for people to allocate some of their entertainment budget to keeping TinyCo afloat. Not everything is aimed at freemium players. But clam TV has been so lucrative that I’m beginning to feel like a premium player even though I never buy clams with realspace money. I have trouble convincing myself to let loose of clams, though. I spent 75 clams on Commander Jesus because I liked the character but didn’t have Stan yet for the final tasks. I would have done the same for Ollie but it wasn’t needed. After too much agonizing, I decided to spend 14 clams on the last #%$%# helmet for Apocalypse Peter because although I don’t like Peter’s costume and grumbled at wasting any clams on it- I do want Roger, and I have to get to Phase 4 first. Timing is so tight and drops have been so erratic that I didn’t want to wait several hours to see if Neil or Stan dropped the final #%$%# helmet. Honestly, my game plan for the final 48 hours of this event already looks more complicated than my dissertation…. But by spending the 14 clams, I made sure I would have enough leeway to maybe even sleep and hopefully deal with any server outages. The TinyCo gods smiled upon me for my leap of faith, and as soon as I spent the 14 clams I was awarded 15 clams for completing a set of characters! So now I’m up to Part 6 of the Phase 3 questline and should be in Phase 4 to get Roger by sometime Wednesday afternoon or evening.

        • By the way, you can shave off quite a few hours by starting tasks for a later part as early as possible, as long as they will still be running when you get to the part that needs them. For instance, I started Neil’s 8hr task for part 5 as soon as I could take him off #%$%# helmet duty, while Peter was hiding his Twinklies in Part 3. I got launcher incubation going as soon as possible also and have notes to myself about stockpiling eggs, not saving Bonnie too close to the end, etc. because I’ll need those for tasks. Bunny’s breakdown of the questline makes this possible. Those #%$%# helmets made it necessary…

  6. Mutant Kitty not showing up for me. Yes, I used clams during this event. The 2 day clam offer has come and gone, and I have completed weekly challenge #4 and gotten the grand prize. CP level 13/Max, Boomshakalaka tasks 100% finished, all characters that can be bought with twinklies have been bought. Strange, but not a huge deal.

    • How many tasks are open in your Task Menu Bar? More than 10?

      • 5. One is the buy coins get clams for $4.99, one is the daily challenge, 2 are related to the Lazarus portal, and the last one is tan lines because I don’t have enough characters (yet) to fill 2 floors.

        • You said you USED Clams… but did you actually purchase any?

          Like

          • Used, did not purchase. Perhaps you have/had to both purchase AND use during the event? If so, you can clarify your blog entry. 🙂

Like I said though, not really a big deal, its just a decoration.

            Like

            • That is why I placed Purchased first. You had to BUY them and then USE them too. 😉

              • As currently written, it appears as an either/or statement, not an “and” statement (at least to my logical-brain). I saw someone else comment they used clams and got the mutant kitty, unsure if they also bought clams during the even too, or just used them however. Either way, as I said, not a big deal, it’s just a decoration and it’ll clutter up other characters walking around. Most of the other deco stuff that walks around with the characters, like war rig and apocalyptic griffin car, I just tossed in my inventory to get them out of the way. It’s hard enough currently having zombies, mutants, fish, 2-headed mutants, roaches, and your regular characters all walking around, trying to click on the 1 character you need becomes cumbersome with so much clutter.

I hope all these fish, mutants, etc. disappear on Thursday!

  7. Mutant Elimination showed up, because I spent clams during this event, but no weekly challenge called Mutant Musings Pt. 4. I’m on Boom Shakalaka Pt. 2. I have 16 Questlines open. Any thoughts?

    Like

    • Look at the amount of Questlines you have open. ALWAYS keep it to 10 or less or you may prevent anything new from popping up. (It’s why I note it right up top of every phase launch.) 😉

      Like

      • I sent a message to Support and heard back right away! It wasn’t the number of questlines. It’s that I have to reach Boom Shakalaka Pt. 4 for the Weekly Challenge to start, but let’s hope that’s not the next issue. LOL.

        Like

        • I would still suggest to limit the Open Tasks as they will start to withhold others from being able to appear. There may be more Questlines still buried in limbo you are unaware of. 😉

          • I have bunches of old questlines waiting for Peter to be free… He’s generally the hangup, since he’s so vital in events. When I get a chance, I put him to work on the old stuff but they aren’t giving us any time between events lately.

  8. Well, now we know why they pulled the Mutant Kitty out of the box! At least now he is earnable, so I don’t have to spend all my clams trying to get him from the box, which I would have done! *chuckle*

  9. Hi there – I also do not have the Mutant Musings Challenge 4 showing up – I’ve completed Boom and Doom Part 10 are there any other requirements to get the challenge to start

  10. I am guessing if we aren’t at a CP level to launch the final week’s content, there is no chance of seeing this final weekly challenge right? I have every character except for the last spots in the tanker and have been sitting on the final part of the third week quest line and just crossed CP level 10 this morning. I have been churning out twinklies the whole way and have 400+ banked but have the sinking feeling I will never get to use them. I have never started the timer for the twins since I last collected the last item in the tanker but saw a timer item in the task bar click down awhile ago but don’t want to go into the tanker to check so I am fearful that the twins are gone too even though I never actually started the timer. I think it started on its own in the task bar just to clear it out (which I totally get, but I didn’t start it). If a player is playing the event the way it is presented and collecting characters and crafting items from the craft area, how can he/she be this far behind with CP level? Shouldn’t playing the event take care of that?

    Like

    • It all depends on YOUR play. Like I keep saying… those timed items are OPTIONAL. More for Premium Players. Not the basic Freemium or here n there one. Many still go for them and end up falling way behind. What you are doing is smart to stockpile and wait. Honestly though, I passed on the Girls. Not worth it at all IMO. I would save my Twinklies… move to Phase 4… and get the rest of the items if there are any you want.

      Like

      • Move to Phase Four? I just passed CP Level 10 this morning and need to be at 11. I was hoping just to burn all of these twinklies on SOMETHING since I won’t even see the final phase and it would appear that option has been taken away. I need some major advice before the next time we get this kind of an event (which could be Thursday the way these things go) on how to advance. One event I can’t get enough of the purchasing currency so I am always behind in navigating the quest line; this event I grind out twinklies like it is my job and can’t get enough Crisis Points. If I have everything that is available to me and am all the way through the quest line, how can I now have enough Crisis Points? Shouldn’t that kind of take care of itself? Am I the only one? Am I not doing something correctly?

        Like

        • Nope. They moved the setting to Crisis Level 9 now to move into Phase 4… you just have to complete the rest of the Questline.

My opinion… do NOT get the “freaking hard” items if you are Freemium. They most definitely slow you down. Pass on them and save your Twinklies for other things.

  11. Weekly Challenge 4 has not showed up in my game despite successfully completing the three prior weeks. Only 5 items in task bar. Suggestions?
