Look out as something wicked this way comes, but what, but what? It’s the Weekly Challenge! Yes week 5’s challenge is hurtling upon us….. Help!!!
As always these aren’t called a challenge for nothing, they can be extremely difficult to complete, especially for freemium players. Many see these as extra fun for premium players but that doesn’t mean a freemium player can’t do it, it just depends where you are in the game and sometimes a lucky guess at what items to stockpile whilst you wait for the challenge to drop. The prizes to date have always been decorations, with the odd building as a Grand Prize, so I wouldn’t advocate spending clams on these, but as always the choice is yours.
Anyway this week’s challenge, if you should choose to accept it, is a little tougher than the weeks before, it should work in tandem with what a lot of us will be doing right now, clearing vampires, but then there’s 85 demons to deal with, if you manage to complete it you will be awarded the Creepy Coniferous decoration. I quite like look of this one compared to the previous 4, lol.
If you have completed all 5 weekly challenges you will win the Grand Prize, which is a Sleeping Frankenstein decoration.
What do you need to do to complete it, well here’s the deal, you will need to complete the Fangs For Visiting task which consists of:

85 Demons? Not a chance!
They don’t have enough spawns. I have just under 1 day left on the timer and although I am near completed with the Vampires, I am sitting at 12/85 Demons.
This “challenge” had utterly ridiculous targets!

This challenge is crap… demon spawn rates appear to be WAY down from earlier weeks. After 23 tries so far, I’m averaging just _1_ demon per sage. At my current sage drop rates, I’ll get only ~33 sage during the timer. I started with 14 stockpiled, about a extra day’s worth. That will mean only about 47 demons total, way short of their goal! Ridiculously short!
In fact, even if I was a big premium spender, and bought BOTH additional premium sage-earning characters, that would only mean an extra 16 searches. At my current rates that’s still only 63 demons total!
That’s not “oh well, challenges may require spending a few clams”, it’s “somebody at TinyCo made another gigantic math error”. I sent TinyCo an in-game message.

Demons now spawning less…. Could it be that TinyCo have wrecked themselves right at the end after such a fun event. I cleared 30 vampires right away but am stuck at 22/85 demons, only gaining 2 from the last 4 hour stint. Awful. I know I could (should) have saved demons up too but it should still be achievable without spending tons of clams.
Feel trolled…. Make weeks1-4 easy then makes week 5 this bard just to annoy us, typical tinyco

I got it done but only by having to spend about 40 clams at the end, had a chance to not have to waste clams, but needed 7 demons from 4 sage and only got 2…. so rush clams had to be spent cos i really wanted the creepy conifers. Did ruin the whole event for me tbh, had been quite happy to have spent clams getting everything inc some frikkin hard stuff but TinyCo have really shot themselves in the foot right at the end there and i vow to not spend much (if any) real money on this game again. TSTO much better value and had loads of cool stuff to buy for Halloween so my next clam spend has already gone to them for donuts. Hope you got it done Tigger 🙂

I was keeping vampires spawned as I assumed they would be this special so I had about 14 spawned when the timer started. More worried on the demons but I think it’s doable!

I unlocked Poltergeist Meg and Little Green Alien today and only need one death cert for Egon. I’m not sure it’s really worth beating my head against a brick wall with bad demon finds to try to finish this week’s challenge, though, since horrible alien finds kept me from completing week 2’s challenge anyway.

Speaking of getting things for this event, I got the barfing rainbow creature, but for some reason, when he “barfs” nothing shows at all, let alone rainbows.

It’s tough but is achievable, and it’s for decorations, not many would spend clams to get these, so I don’t think TinyCo see this as generating a lot of income for them. The challenges used to be lot harder than what they’ve been recently, this is only one this event that to me is an actual challenge.

Wow, not a prayer on this one! The challenges were so easy up to this point. Going to give it my best but don’t have much hope for completing this challenge with the drop rates being what they are. Finished everything else though so got nothing better to do 😉

Over the weekend I was spawning vampires etc. as I collected the materials so that I had a bunch running around. I cleared 24/30 vampires and 11/85 demons right away with this plan, so it might be OK (no plans to pay for a deco).

Given the drop rate for vampires and the six hour wait between attempts this is devilishlly difficult, almost impossible. Only 8 drops tops, assuming you get your six hours just right, more like 6 or 7, and seeding the max 5 rooms yielded me just 2 vampires to kick off. That’s 12 or 14 of my 30 if the drop rate continues to be so poor. If I get more lime 5 I’m in with a chance. Demons not so hard I’ve been stockpiling things for 5 days in anticipation, I have some goodies, but time here also against one. At least I’ll get 30 drops or so at three rooms a pop, may make 85, although my stocks aren’t as high here in proportion. Seems TinyCo want more of my clams.

I think the demons will be tougher for me than the vampires, with 5 rooms to search for them and stockpile seeds, that’s 5 investigations every 6 hours, and I’ve 48 hours of time. It’s a little more sage I might need to earn for demons, just incase.

I don’t want this, but I was wondering, I have bought all the freebies except for the “Little Green Man”, tapped the wrong spot and the timer ran out on me. any second chances at him? I have over 400 keys with no place to spend them……

What’s really weird for me was the little green man was timed out for me, after I got possessed Meg etc. I was bored and had tons of keys so scanned the other pages and was able to buy him! He opened back up. I’d say randomly keep checking!

I even started with 20 each before challenge started and there is still no way to get all of them in 2 days since the vampires are a 6 hour wait. Holy crap did they make this one very hard. Lol. Oh well…Next “event” plz.
