There’s No Place Like Quahog Weekly Challenge – Week 3 – If I Only Had More Wizards

Look out as something wicked this way comes, but what, but what?  It’s the  Weekly Challenge!  Yes week 3’s challenge is hurtling upon us like an out of control tornado….Help!!!

Now in the last couple of events TinyCo seemed to be making these challenges just an eensy weensy teensy bit easier and we were seeing a flourish of happy comments, but then they upped the stakes again in the final challenge of The Hauntening, so it was hard to predict what we would get in this set of challenges, however they’ve not been too hard in my opinion.

Going forward they could revert to their original form of being extremely difficult to complete, especially for freemium players. If that’s the case just try to see these for premium players, but hey that doesn’t mean a freemium player can’t do it, it just depends where you are in the game and sometimes a lucky guess at what items to stockpile whilst you wait for the challenges to drop. The prizes to date have always been decorations, with the odd building as a Grand Prize, so I wouldn’t advocate spending clams on these, but as always the choice is yours.

Anyway this week’s challenge, if you should choose to accept it, seems achievable for both freemium and premium players  if you’ve some lassoes, bananas and protein powder in the bank and of course I’m sure many will have some Cowboy Munchkins trained and ready to go to get a head start. I can’t see any reason why both freemium and premium players can’t do this as it should work in tandem with what a lot of us will be doing right now, wrangling tornadoes, clearing flying monkeys and fallen houses to get those last resources we need.  If you do manage to complete it you will be rewarded the Animatronic Birds of Prey decoration.

And if you completed all 3 weekly challenges you will earn this fella, the Grooving Scarecrow, who again is a decoration.

What do you need to do to complete it, well here’s the deal, you will need to complete the If I Only Had More Wizards task which consists of:

Peter  Starts

Check out the prize
Clear  2 Flying Monkeys

Clear 3 Falling Houses
Clear 8 Tornadoes

YOU HAVE 24 HOURS IN WHICH TO COMPLETE ALL PARTS.

***However the event ends on Tuesday @ 3pm Pacific and the challenge will leave with it so depending when you trigger the challenge you may have less than 24 hours***

So there you have it the third and last of this events weekly challenges.

EVENT ENDING SOON

I just want to remind everyone once again that the rainbow is fading and TinyCo will soon be rolling up the yellow brick road and calling time on our Oz adventure. Yes the sands of time are running out as the clock ticks down on what’s been a fun event.

image

The event will be ending on Tuesday 29th November @ 3pm Pacific, so finish unlocking any characters you can and spend your event currency before the event ends. Basically when it comes to all those emeralds you’ve built up the motto is use it or lose it. So just before the clock strikes 3pm Pacific on the 29th of November. Spend, Spend, Spend.

Good luck and let us know in the comments if you completed the challenge.

  3. Still havent gotten cowardly lion joe because of drops. Contacted Tiny Co in week 1 about the drop problem, and they sent a form letter. I like the game, but Tiny Co.s Greed is killing it.

    • They’ve extended the event by a day, so hope that helps you with Cowardly Lion Joe – the event will now end tomorrow, 30th November at 3pm Pacific

  4. Just got everything with just 3 hours to spare! Glad i got the grooving Scarecrow as it is basically Michael Jackson’s character from The Wiz. (Based on his moves.) Totally freemium but spent free clams as needed to speed things up. No premium characters boughtl. Whew!

  5. Ding dong the witch is alive! This was the first event since Star Trek that I felt I was on top of things mostly. I only spent clams for toto Brian . Didn’t buy any other premium characters, and unlocked all the other ones including all the weekly challenges and just got the www this morn. She’s hilarious ! Thank you guys for all your help! You are invaluable for keeping up in this game. Waking up a couple times through the night to play is also a big help.

  7. Got the last 3 characters today (Tues) last day of event – the last 2 events I also finished on the last day with just a few hours left. Had to set the alarm though for the last 2 nights to make sure I got as many drop chances as poss. Just waiting on 4 cowboys to rope those twisters for the Grand Prix. 😉

  8. Wrapping up this task and scored my wicked witch this morning. I was doubtful I would be able to get her and Glinda being a totally free player but drops came right the last 36 hours to score lion Joe and everything else I needed. It’s been a good event.

Though I’m left with a couple of thousand emeralds to spend on stuff I already own. Sad to see them just go away. 😉

  9. I’m thankful for this event. I’m a freemium player and I got all the characters and will get the prize of this challenge today. But what would really make me happy is to see an event based on the very last episode of Family Guy about LITERATURE!
Thank you for all the extremely useful infirmation about the game poblished on this site.

  10. I made the right choice! I had already unlocked everything in this event, so I was only stocking up on Munchkins in anticipation of the weekly challenge. I was originally just going to stock up on Cowboy Munchkins to clear the tornadoes (in case that was all that the challenge required). I knew tornadoes would need to be cleared for this challenge. However, I changed my mind and decided to instead have 2 Banana Munchkins – 2 Buff Munchkins – and 4 Cowboy Munchkins at the ready. I am glad that was a smart move, as they were all required and I now have a shorter waiting time. 😃

I was really hoping that the prize for week 3 was going to be a decoration of Jack Pumpkinhead (as characters are never usually awarded for a weekly challenge). I was thinking that this could be the last chance to have him be a part of the event. Now I know that he won’t be. 😔

At least we got Tik-Tok and a Wheeler though, so it’s all good. I have a small section for Oz in my game. I found a prominent place for Tik-Tok and got a few Wheelers (to make a gang of them) as well.

  11. I was well stocked up so should be no problem completing this challenge. I’m a Freemium player and got Glinda and Joe Lion today. Sent them on their tasks for getting the wicked witch and should have her list finished when I wake up in the morning. Really enjoyed the event and appreciate all the useful information posted on this site. Makes it that much more enjoyable.

  12. Has anybody managed to get Cowardly Lion Joe without using clams? With the event ending tomorrow, there’s no way I can get him. Additional few days wouldn’t help, the drop rates are terrible.

    • For me, the liquor bottles were seldom dropping, but I got him by ending those timers early for the past two days. Spent around 30 clams on around 8 of the bottles, so, that’s not too bad. This event was great, and a tree for week 3 challenge is a nice surprise too.

    • i had to use clams because after several days of sending quagmire and peter the strawdude on quests for meat, i had exactly 2. TWO, over more than a dozen attempts. bonnie was the only one i had getting drinks and for every 4 times i sent her out, i got ONE! i sent a note in-game about the ridiclous drop rate and got the usual stupid response back. i spent 348 clams to get the lion because it meant i got the wicked witch too, but i am pissed! there is no way i should have had to spend THAT much to get the lion when i had plenty of lead time to get it done by quests.

  13. Oh good. I had a feeling it could be something like this and got lucky as I had 1, 3 and 4 dudes waiting. Just need a monkey and 4 tornadoes now with nearly all the time remaining. 🙂

  14. BYI, that Grand Prize decoration….is Michael Jackson as the Scarecrow from The Wiz.

  15. Luckily I had 7 cowboy munchkins stockpiled, so I had a big head start on this. Kind of lame that they would wait until 23 hours before the event ends to release it, won’t even give a full day to do it. I’ll be fine, but that makes it rather tight for those who didn’t stockpile much.

  16. I’ve just basically decided to give up on the idea of ever completing any of the Family Guy events unless I win the lottery someday. When I think I might be finally close to finishing one, I realize only then that the creators haven’t finished putting it all up. I stopped trying when Cowardly Lion Joe was put up. I didn’t get to that point until 2 days before the event ends. It’s maddening trying to do this if you still hope to get very far.
