It’s a typical Christmas disaster, firstly there was the squirrel in the Christmas tree, sorry wrong store. It ’twas the disappointment of players who didn’t get a trophy when they unlocked Christmas Gnome Stewie, now other players still working on unlocking him are seeing materials they’ve collected disappear, whilst they are awarded a quantity of medals instead. I’ve alerted support, here’s hoping we get a Christmas miracle and it’s sorted before the holidays. But for those with the issue know you’re not alone.
The only advice I can give is visiting Ollieland seems to guarantee you’ll lose any items collected so avoid it if you’re planning to try collecting until there’s a fix.

I finally got Stewie and avoided Ollie land. About to visit it now to see if I get the medals/trophy since I did not get them upon unlocking. Maybe he will disappear OR I will get the reward. Here goes…

I reported it twice now. Its happen every time i log on I anywhere between 400 and 1000. Ive spent them so i hope they don’t want them back lol. I also don’t like the santa spawn rate have only seen him 3 times out 15. So those socks are very very rare drop

Players are reporting every time they gave stuff again it disappears, so think going need for a fix from support on this one

I just came on here to see if anyone else had the same issue. I messaged support as well. Hopefully there is a fix. It’s not like I can’t re-collect my supplies, it is now just an inconvenience.

Everytime you go to ollieland it awards you 200 tokens per completed box for gnome stewie then takes those items away, so dont fill them up if you cant replace them, and enjoy the free tokens, btw lipsticks aren’t dropping for me, had the decoration 36 hours now and not one lipstick drop, yes I have reported it

This happened to me too – nearly all Christmas Gnome Stewie materials gone when I just needed the lipsticks to unlock him!
However, to be honest I’m less upset about this bug than most of the ones we have to deal with playing FGTQFS, as the exchange rate of materials for stars actually seemed pretty good (unlocked drugstore Carl at last, Candyman Pawtucket Pat and Count Of Monte Hall Stewie using the proceeds) plus it’s going to be much easier to earn them again with all the buildings already in place and some other stuff stockpiled.
I’ve already refilled two of the required materials and collected most of the lipsticks, so hope it won’t take long to complete everything for Christmas Gnome Stewie despite the setbacks. The main problem now is having to remember not to visit Ollieland again – already done that once by accident!

Follow up to my pending post, I did a little experiment after losing all my items since I’m lucky enough to have the feature to speed up tasks with ads.
I sped Tom tucker up for his Festive Scarf task and he dropped all 4 that I was missing instead of 1. After reloading the game they were still there BUT when I visited ollieland/friends and went back home, they were gone. I tested this 3 times.
It appears that visiting friends is what triggers the loss of items. That said, I didn’t realize it because I wasn’t getting a pop up anymore but apparently I was being awarded medals each time I lost the items, getting another 600 during my testing.

Literally just happened to me not a minute ago. Went to visit friends towns for the free clam and got hit with a pop up awarding me 1000 medals, went back to my town and every single item for Stewie was just gone. All of them not just some. Had him nearly complete.

Seeing how frequently we’ve had various issues lately, one almost starts to wonder if they are trying their very hardest at getting us all to simply stop playing the game. Apparently, this is yet another issue involving the Historical Society, only this time around it’s actually causing problems outside of the society itself. Maybe if they would make sure that such a “feature” works like it should next time, before they launch it in the game. No?

I only had lipsticks to get when I lost my stuff. Again, while I was in Ollie’s Quahog. Sent a message to Support telling them what happened and how.

I thought somehow an old copy of my village loaded since I was only a few lipsticks away from unlocking Gnome Stewie and now I’m back to having to collect everything again. Looks like it’s just another glitch.

Had everything but the lipstick for gnome stewie. Go to play today and everything had reset. Just did the 8 hour task for the yellow snowballs which dropped two but didn’t save. Tired of all the glitches since they ran the update to unlock past characters.

Thanks, as always. Each of us has infinitely more important and demonstrably real problems than these, but knowing that there is someone else taking time from their day to help with these “little things” that nag us to bring a little fun to our world is the very definition of selflessness and giving.
