Hello There Clammers!
Back with more details on the lowdown of the Exotic Animal Event. As we mentioned last night TinyCo dropped a late little weekend event on us. This event is purely premium, so if you don’t spend clams this isn’t for you…
Here’s the complete rundown..

Buy three exotic animals (discounted prices) for 175 clams total and you’ll earn a FREE Fancy Restaurant for your Quahog. The Fancy Restaurant will be another building that can help you collect Wine and Seashells.
The exotic animals are:
Guardian Crab for 25 Clams
Lawn Tiger for 50 Clams
Peterdactyl for 100 Clams (used to cost 500 Clams)
After you’ve purchased all three premium Exotic Animals another quest from Peter will pop up (I know show of you may be experiencing a glitch with this. Check out Bunny’s update on that glitch here) and it will be the task to build the Fancy Restaurant:
The Fancy Restaurant is 9×5 in size and earns $40 and 25xp every 6hrs. There’s also a chance for Seashells and Wine to drop from this building (in my town I don’t need wine at the moment, hence why it’s not shown).
So that’s what this weekend event will get you….
Now, here’s my take. Personally, I think this is a pass. 175 Clams for 3 animals that don’t really do much for a building that isn’t the greatest payout and drops items that aren’t that difficult to obtain. (of course that being said I won’t find any lol)
You can earn Wine from the Founding Father and you can earn Sea Shells from the Lighthouse. You can also purchase the Lobster Shanty for 65 clams and have a chance at Seashells (and Poncy Hat & Fish) as well. That to me is the better deal thank the animal event….unless of course you love animals.
If you’re really wanting the Exotic Animals (especially the nice price drop in the Peterdactyl) than the Restaurant is an added bonus.

the restaurant and peterdactyl were in the episode where Quagmire and Meg get together when she turns 18… In the episode, they both go to the restaurant which is named ‘Angelo’s’ – wonder why they dropped the name??

There were so many people unable to play over the weekend (including me) because of the early update of their servers and the late Delevery of the game update on many systems that they should bring the Animal Weekend back!

First I’m hearing of it. Double check your inventory to make sure it’s not there. If you still don’t see it, contact TinyCo and let them know.

Not in inventory. I searched through my Quahog. No. lawn tiger.
I also contacted Tinyco through the game.

Ok. I did see a few others reporting this as well. I’m going to bring it up with our TinyCo contact and see what they say. Are you playing on Android or iOS?

Tinyco found it. Sorry! Got a reeeeeally big Quahog and didn’t remember I moved the tiger and made it “invisible”. Once more, sorry! Now I’m just awaiting the pyramid! 🙂

I’m going for it. I love family guy so I want everything they have to offer for my Quahog. I have all the stores which helps with my outfit collecting. As of right now I have all the outfits offered but it took me like 2 weeks to get the 4 shells needed for mermaid peter so the more drop spots I can get the better right.

It is comming up as 2 different tasks on my game. One with the time left and one without. Is the one without the time limit not going to go away after the weekend? I’m not sure if its just a glitch in my game.

Possible glitch. It should be timing out. I will keep an eye out for other reports.

Same in my game – “Rare Fare Pt. 1” shows up twice just like aurora described, only one with the timer.

It’s now Tuesday morning. I still have the icon (the one without the timer).
Like above – I also had two icons all weekend – one with a timer, one without.
The timer one disappeared, so now I’m down to the one icon.
Basically I’m greeted with “it’s exotic animal weekend!” Every time I load.
Interesting.

Might take a little bit for it to completely clear. Odds are it’ll take until the servers in the US (on pacific time) hit midnight for it to completely disappear.

I love the fancy restaurant– which is an added bonus– for buying the three exotic animals. At 100 clams, the Peterdactyl is the most expensive decoration I’ve bought in the game, thus far (I still want that Crippletron but won’t shell out– pun intended– 750 clams for it). I’ve always wanted that Peterdactyl so the fact that they lowered the price for it by 400 clams is a big plus for me. Comparatively, we’ve had more expensive NPCs in Tapped Out– 150 donuts for Santa’s Little Helper– for example, and the other NPCs that are over 50 donuts (Mojo from Easter), the tiger and the crab at 50 and 20 clams, respectively are a bargain– plus it comes with a unique restaurant if we get all 3. 🙂 Just my opinion, of course.

We love a mix of opinions. Thank you. Each person sees the game in a different light and that is what makes the community awesome. To see what everyone thinks of each item. It is cool they dropped the price DRASTICALLY for Peterdactyl.

Awwww sorry. When TinyCo gets back to you, make them aware if you wanted something from the event and see what they can do to help out. They really are great to talk to.

Keep in mind it is the weekend and a holiday one at that. There are some working, but more to keep things running than anything else. Regular crew should be back by Tuesday, if you don’t hear back sooner.

Get this, I just got an email from tinyco asking me to rate the help they gave me, and so far I haven’t heard back from them at all except for one request for my game code and Facebook name..
Can you believe they would ask me to rate the help they never gave me! And by now I’ve missed the whole weekend event!
And I was about to spend money on this game too!
I think that if I don’t get somthing from the Pet event (really wanted that lobster) that I will delete this game and never play it ever again.
In game support help I was at least getting some replies, but their email support really sucks.

That is insanely frustrating, but keep in mind it’s a holiday weekend. So it’s possible they just haven’t seen your email request just yet, but the survey response is probably automated.
