Hello There Clammers!
Never a dull moment…as we just got hit with new content for District 9. If you have Tom Tucker you’ll start up a new questline for him. Also, Stewie will start What the Deuce Pt. 3…requiring you to Build City Hall…to get Mayor West! (initially, and for as long as I can remember, they’ve said that Mayor West will be in City Hall…turns out he’s not. Looks like he won’t be released in this phase)
In this phase you’ll unlock…Vinny!
Currently working out the rest of the details now…more to come 🙂
Stewie will get things going for you and pick the the What the Deuce Questline..and his search for the missing Plutonium. This will pick up AFTER you’ve rebuilt the News Station, however you do not have to have Tom unlocked to progress further. Just have to have the News Station Built.
From here Stewie and Brian will continue What the Deuce and it’s through this questline that you’ll find Vinny. More walkthrough details to come later….
Once you unlock Tom he’ll start his own questline, but it’s independent of the main (What the Deuce) questline.

Jim’s Tattoo Parlor– 125 Clams. Earns $45, 30xp/8hrs
Dog Pound– $4,000. 20hr Build. Earns $80,55xp/20hrs….here’s where you’ll find Vinny. More details on how to unlock him in just a minute.

So that covers all the new buildings/items released with this phase of District 9. Now let’s take a look at the character released, Vinny.
To unlock Vinny here’s what you’ll need:
12 Cleavers (Common) Earned By: Make Dr. Hartman Prepare for an Exam OR Get From Disobedience School (Who Let The Dogs Out Part 3 & Build Meatloafaria will unlock Brian and Stewie to drop them)
18 Cigars (Common) Earned By: Make Carter Smoke Money Cigars OR Get from Underdog’s Poker Room (Who Let The Dogs Out Part 4 & Build Abandoned Warehouse will unlock Brian to drop them.)
4 Guard’s Keys (Extra Rare) Earned By: Make Mort Jetpack to Safety OR Make Joe (and Quagmire) Play Mace Tag OR Make Stewie (and Brian) Do a Jaunty Dance
Casa di Vinny – Build Casa di Vinny for $5,000
Visit Old Friends– Make Meg Visit Old Friends (Requires Jailhouse Meg), 1hr.
Or you can Instant Unlock for 710 Clams
When you find Vinny you’ll get a new quest timed challenge, Vinny’s Special Offer!
Here’s the deal….Unlock Vinny within 3 days of finding him and win a FREE Exclusive Boopity Pastaria Building! Here’s what it looks like…
You do NOT have to do this timed special offer side quest if you don’t want to. Vinny will still keep collecting his items after the timer runs down.
Oh and one more thing…
After you’ve unlocked Vinny you’ll see bulldogs now roaming the streets of Quahog! (like Pirates, Bulls & Geeks of Districts past) In order to eliminate them you’ll need Mayor West, who’s currently not released yet…

you should also let TinyCo know that its rude to respond to comments about things like characters people want while ignoring like 20 pics of a new issue that has never been acknowledged. all they gotta say is we realize its an issue and are trying to resolve it.

I understand what you are saying. It is a lil different on Facebook as things are not controlled at all. Anyone can post at anytime on any subject matter and it immediately goes live. There are about 200K+ people there constantly posting and commenting and “flooding” the page. So it is very easy for comments to get lost.
For us here, it is more controlled environment. EVERY comment goes through moderation, so we read and see ALL comments. That allows us to answer each one appropriately and with information we research or know. So a lot different. I have made suggestions to them on the FB page, but it is a matter of help. They need to answer MILLIONS one at a time. Here, we can answer many all at once with a post or comment. It takes us a LONG time sometimes just to go through 1000 comments individually and give them the attention they need. I can only imagine what it is like with 100’s of thousands of comments every hour hitting. I do not think its possible to keep up.

yeah i’ve emailed them with no response as well. plus so many people posted pics of the issues its almost impossible to miss. earlier they commented on a post right below and right above 2 pics of the issue while ignoring it. have they responded to you?

Not yet, but I realize (as everyone should) that it takes time to locate the cause of technical issues. Just because they do not respond to each and every single comment and person does not mean they are not paying attention. They are looking into it.
We are waiting to see what their techs can find and pass it on. We wish each issue took seconds to fix, but the reality is it takes time. They have to locate the games that are impacted (which is few and far between right now), then they have to find the cause, then work on a solution, then put out a patch. All this…takes time. Just be patient. Allow them time to see what it is. They are much like us, they do NOT want to give incorrect info so they research it so they can provide it to the community as a whole. It takes too much time to go through each and every single comment.
Just hang in there. Patience. We will update with any info they find. 😉

Fair enough. Im like 99% sure i know what causes the issue. It was caused by having Tom Tucker doing his shuffle papers 30min task as they added the recent content. the action is in the error message, my Tom Tucker was doing it at that time, and it would also explain why only a few are experiencing it (most dont have tom unlocked yet). If you dont mind maybe check to see if that task was removed or changed. if so that’d be why. it cant load since it cant decide what to do with Tom.

We sent all sorts of details to them on what our readers were seeing. Hope it helps. Honestly…games impacted just messaging in through the games helps a LOT. Then they can actually go into that game and see it happening and locate the issue. It is a BIG help to contact them, even if they don’t respond. 😉

Ive unlocked Vinny and all the buildings and have done all the quests, TinyCo said Mayor West and his Mansion might be unlocked tomorrow at 11pm or 3pm PDT

Vinny is awesome! I just instant-unlocked him and got Boopity Pastaria as well. Can’t wait for Halloween event, too 🙂 but Vinny has no voice or no animation when dragging him 😦

Going a bit overboard with the pet stuff maybe? Vinny would not have been on my list for desired characters – didn’t like him on the show. He wasn’t much better than New Brian imo.

Yes, the Dogpound (and the other buildings after it) will appear in the store after you’ve completed What the Deuce. Walkthrough should be up later today with the details…

I love new building thankful there is a lot of non premium buildings. Question ! If you have not made it to District 9 yet will this appear in your store immediately or will you have to wait to get there , ( I like looking at the store at things I’m excited to know I will get to unlock ) also is this a automatic update or must I go into Google play to get it kicked off . Thanks for all the Info !

It looks like they moved it from after D9 opening to before D9 opening. So if you have D9 unlocked now you won’t see it..

Automatic update. And half will open when you hit D9. The other half (Dog Pound and after) will hit after you’ve completed What the Deuce.

You’ll have to complete What the Deuce to unlock/build the dog Pound. You’ll get a questline prompt for it…it won’t unlock until you get that prompt

When does vinnys unlock exactly come available?
I looked for it everywhere, but can’t seem to find anything. Is it some kind of building or quest that makes him appear. I’m askimg cause I want to be prepared as much as possible, cause unlocking him within 3 days sure isn’t gonna be an easy task

You’ll find Vinny in the Dog Pound. However, this building won’t unlock until you complete What the Deuce, questline. Then you’ll be prompted in the quests to build Vinny. The questline will unlock the ability to build it 🙂

I am still far from unlocking Vinny, but I have a question. As per posted above, a timed quest would appear once vinny is found. Everything else seems reasonable for a 3 day period (freemium wise) except the cleaver. Unless Dr. Hartman drops it EVERY SINGLE TIME, you won’t get a chance to finish it. And that is assuming you do get to tap and restart said task on time every time. Only way for it to be doable is to buy the obedience school. Don’t misunderstand me. I have spent money on the game, and am still willing to do so (specially if they have something nice during the coming halloween event), but I don’t go about buying every single building they throw at us. First, there is barely any space in town. Second, I just don’t like buying something I won’t use after a certain period.

If I miss that special 3-day only building cuz of this glitch, I’ma be pissed! seriously it wont even launch after I get that error message (” Config empty for id shufflepapers in DualAction”)…..you guys (Tiny Co.) need to extend that deadline especially since I can even play, and I’ve got the clams, but no way to use ’em. I’d send you/Tiny Co. this through the game, but — again — it won’t load passed that error message. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Nice work Bunny and friends. Please help if you know of a fix. (already done, the basic stuff i.e. un/reinstall, tried from my Android Device…no matter what..same error everytime. Thanks in advance!

Well the 3 Day trigger won’t start until you build the Dog pound and find vinny. Which won’t happen until you complete the what the deuce questline. So you should be ok on it 🙂

Did you finish the Blimp and complete the questline? You’ll be prompted via the questline to unlock D9. It won’t unlock prior to that…

Oh man, i sent stewie to do a 2 hour task in the griffins house, one that would get something for vinny, and the game crashed!! Now it wont open. It says “load error, something griffinhouse Actionempty” or something like that. Already reinstalled but it still says that!! Should i contact tinyco? I waited for the 2 hours, maybe the action completed would free it, but aaa no. Man this sucks, thanks guys

So I just unlocked district 9 and I went to buy all the new building and was looking forward to getting the blimp storage area, but it’s not available at all, not blacked out just gone. Anyone else noticing this?

Apparently they’ve made an adjustment and move the storage to be purchasable before unlocking D9 now, which now tells me it’s only a 1 shot deal to collect for the blimp. This District is very strange indeed…

This game gets better and better TinyCo doesn’t disappoint and thanks to this site for all the help because if it wasn’t for all the walk through’s I would have been really frustrated. I can’t wait for the Halloween Event.

The blimp hanger is now buyable before you unlock district 9. So actually useful if you need propellers. (I didn’t buy it as I’m having terrible luck with plutonium not propellers)

I’ll keep asking this (knowing you don’t have the answer but need to vent) how are we to place all these new buildings without more land?? D9. Filled. And I have 10 or so buildings in storage (not office farm buildings, but nice wonderful beautiful buildings that there is no room for. 😦 I want to cry.

They just released 6 new strips of land with D9. You’ve filled it already?! All I can say is patience…each new district brings new land. But they did just add it 1 week ago, so I don’t think we’ll be seeing more land anytime soon. Maybe before Halloween….

I keep all my stuff in my town. All the adventure stuff is along the bottom shoreline. If. I worked hard to get through and obtain things I want to display them. So that’s why I have it filled. Plus. All my roads. If I didn’t have roads is probably have tons of room. Lol. But I don’t play that way. I want a “real” looking town. So…..

What the deuce! My district 9 is still locked. I have Brian investigating the air field and stewie just finished. Jailhouse meg quests are done also. Did I miss something?

You’ll get a questline prompt to open District 9. It’s not until you get that propmpt, that you can open D9

its great that an update is here but its next to pointless if they havent even fix the glitch where i cant even proceed with the blimp questline. i practically already finished making the blimp and the uninstall, try it on android, rebooting my device doesnt even fix it. so yeah, whoopie

Yeah, that’s TC. They care a great deal more about releasing new content than fixing broken code. It just comes with the territory with this game and we all need to learn to be ok with it or move on to something else. I doubt that will be changing anytime soon.

He’s here to stay. The 3 day challenge is to get the exclusive building, but Vinny will still be there even if you don’t unlock him in 3 days 🙂

lol well I started playing this game back in August and it was, obviously from what I read, like the very middle of the ComicCon event so right now I’m only working on getting the wharf done and dealing with the pirates&& what not!!lmao still have I think r more districts to unlock, but just wanted to say this is an AMAZING site! I’ve been reading everybodys’ feedback and updates and it has really helped me progress thru the game faster,no lie. I’m in NO rush whatsoever to get to district9 because I’m having so much fun playing this game its unreal!! thank you bloggers for keeping everything update!! You guys are so so helpful I believe!! 🙂

This whole advertising 1 thing & then just going ahead & doing something different is kind of annoying. Mayor West will be in City Hall … No , we decided he won’t. Phase 2 doggy style will be released at 3 pm pdt Thursday … No, we’re going to go ahead & throw it out there at a random time Tuesday. Comic-con updates will be every Friday … Nope, we decided to do it Thursday.
Why even advertise days things are going to happen when they are clearly going to release things whenever they feel like it? Is some degree of consistency between what is advertised & actually carried out too much to ask?
These kind of inconsistencies are a major pet peeve for me — like someone showing up at your house an hour before the party starts & you haven’t even had time to shower yet.

I agree….it’s very annoying. If you want to keep it a surprise/mystery then don’t show the previews for it. Or don’t give days for it. It just throws everyone off…

I’m still waiting for TC to update about the blimp glitch (unlocked it, crashed, then it reset all the items) before I continue. I’ve even made sure not to collect more items so not to mess up the game itself, just in case. So I’m doing a bit of a waiting game at the moment. The new update looks cool though, I can’t wait to get there. 🙂

Slightly off-topic, but seeing the Jaunty Dance as an item-action reminded me…
There is an achievement called “Dance Off: Shipoopi, Twerk & Jaunty Jig” with the description “Do them at the same time!” However, I tried this, and did not receive the achievement. I used Peter, Bonnie, and Stewie/Brian for the actions, no costumes. Is this a bug, or was it just never coded right (since the achievement was present long before Stewie arrived)? Or maybe I was supposed to do the Super Shipoopi instead? Has anyone else gotten the achievement, and if so, which characters were used?

Does it say it is still in moderation? If so, just means we have not got to it yet. EVERY comment has to be cleared individually by us. It helps protect our readers and our site that way.

No, I hit “Post Comment” & it did its usual thing of refreshing page, going to the top of post & then bringing it back to the comment I replied on. But it didn’t show up at all. No “waiting for moderation.” Just no comment there. IDK, not really a big deal or anything. Was just wondering what happened.

City Hall under the characters tab changed to the Mayor’s Mansion. What happened to City Hall? and it seems as if you can zoom out more.

Keep in mind a lot of buildings in the menus on “locked” items are just place keepers until the real image is released. Just keep an eye out. It should reflect the info correctly when it actually goes live in the game.

No worries, this is meant to take your time on as it is a District. Here to stay. Only timed item is Vinny’s task, but it won’t trigger til you get to that point, so again…no worries. No rush. 😉
