Hello there Clammers!
We last left off our walkthrough Stewie and Brian were building a blimp but someone stole all the Plutonium! So they started their quest to find out who took it all by opening District 9 and finding Tom Tucker! So now we’ll pick our walkthrough back up after Stewie and Brian ask Tom if he knows where the Plutonium is..
This will be a little different than past District walkthroughs, since it will be released in stages. So, we’ve covered part 1 here and we’ll pick things up with part 2, where we’ll unlock Tom, find Vinny and build a whole bunch of new buildings!
Unlocking characters and items in the Downtown District will take a lot of patience, as the list of “Stuff” required to unlock is longer and the quantities of each are greater. Take your time, try not to get frustrated when the items don’t appear. Try a different task to unlock the item, or try working on a different item.
So let’s pick our walkthrough back up with Brian and Stewie and the hunt for the missing plutonium…
Just a reminder
To unlock characters: once you’ve collected all of the “Stuff”, you’ll need to go through their items again and tap the ones with check marks. Once you’ve gone through each one the lock over the character’s head will turn gold and show unlock. At this point tap the character again to fully unlock the character.
As you get further into the game it becomes harder to earn the items needed to unlock the characters. Be sure to check out the Materials page to see the odds of the items and who can help you unlock them.
Remember this won’t start until you’ve repaired Channel 5 News and found Tom….

So there you have it my friends…the complete details on the second phase District 9! What will phase 3 bring? Mayor West…we’re assuming! More as it unfolds!
What do YOU think of District 9 so far? What do you think happened to the Plutonium? Thoughts on Vinny being added as a character? What do you think will happen in the next release? Sound off in the comments below, you know we LOVE hearing from you!

I unlocked Vinny before the event expired to get the building but the building never showed up! 😕

Are you speaking of his Special Offer 3 day timed sidequest to get the Pastaria? Did you get the pop up for it in your game? If so, is it still there on the task bar on the left? Did you complete ALL required tasks to collect the Pastaria? Build the Casa Di Vinny? Make Meg visit old friends?
LikeLike
Yes I did the entire quest before the event ended yet the Pastaria never showed up.

If you completed before the timer ran out, you would have seen a pop up with Peter saying congrats and the Pastaria is then put in your inventory. Did you see the Peter pop up saying you completed the goal?

So…I found out that I did get the Pastaria. It was just hiding in my inventory which I discovered when I unlocked Pink Brian. Whoops! Sorry TinyCo! Lol. Thanks for your help, Bunny!

When will I be able to trigger the dogs walking around town? Also, stewie can also get the cleavers too and it takes only 2hrs.
LikeLike
In the Who Let The Dogs Out quest. Cleavers hit around Part 3 AFTER Meatloafaria is built. The dogs walking round down, a few after that. All a part of Vinny’s questline.

Is there anyone else that doesn’t have the Brian task for the cleaver? I just opened up Vinny and I have the Meatlofaria built but I do not see the task 😦
LikeLike
You need to get to Who Let the Dogs Out Part 3 when it triggers the option after building Meatloafaria. You send Brian on the task then and it drops cleavers. It will trigger Stewie and Brian to be able to drop them. Then Part 4 after build of Abandoned Warehouse, you again trigger Brian who now will drop cigars

I dont know if anyone has thought pf or mentioned this,. If you wait until you have just one or 2 items left for Tom Tucker you can then go onto his mystery box and effectively get each item for only 30 clams. Its a nice little sale since even if you get Toms last item it will not repeat again. Then i just cleaned out all the rebated prizes

I got the 10 items for 330 clams instead of the 2765 normal price tag

I’m so sorry if you’ve answered this already, I read through as many of the comments add I could before asking. Do we have 3 days to unlock Vinny period or is that strictly to get the Pastaria? Meaning I can get Vinny in 4 days etc. without the Pastaria reward. Thanks much!

Strictly to get the Pastaria. You have as much time as you need to unlock Vinny (if you don’t care about the building) 🙂

This is the first time that I have ever run into a brick wall with this game. I have been running the four tasks to get the keys to unlock Vinny from the start of the three day timer and am down to less than 24 hours and have gotten zero keys to drop. That means after running each task five times I still haven’t had any success. So it looks like the timer will expire and I won’t be able to complete the goal to get the building. And it annoys me since there are multiple character tasks and I would have been better off sending everyone on tasks to unlock Tom or working on the Stewie goals.
And I don’t even know who Vinny is and wouldn’t care about ever unlocking him, but he will probably be needed to progress further in District 9…

You are looking at just the walkthrough. I think the overview is more what you need.
I say this as you are looking at Vinnys special quest, a side quest, as actual Vinny unlock time. He is NOT timed. Only the sidequest. The walkthroughs are just info on each quest available. Including side ones. (Similar to the Sexy Stewie sidequest Sexy Party Planning, it is timed and up to you to complete it to get the bonus building). Vinny is here to stay.

I am nearing a similar issue. I have 1d 12h remaining, exactly half, and I have almost exactly half of the requirements (6 cleavers, 9 cigars, 1 key). I also cannot get keys to drop, just the 1 so far AND I have Rupert too. I’ve had Joe/Quagmire and Mort do their jobs since my timer started. I have Stewie/Brian doing the jobs for cleavers and cigars because I felt like they were moving slow, and I’m glad I did. Sucks that my timer is going to end when I’m sleeping though 😦

Back to you Tom, pt 6, does it require Tom+Joe, Tom+Peter or do you just send Tom separately or the others separately? I’m asking cause I want to save some time… 🙂

Just Tom.

Darn. No time saving.
It seems like the new quests tend to be impossible to prepare. The quests often trigger a new task that’s not been available before.

I’m hoping the blimp will take the game back in time to timed events. That way if you didn’t get everything from comicon or the pyramid party, you can use the blimp to reopen those events and keep playing. But it would probably have a cost to it.

Must be my lucky day cauz I got all my keys in the first 10 hours & have 6 each of the cleavers & cigars halfway through the first day. This one should be a breeze.

Was just about to complain about the cleavers until I saw your comment that they added a task for Brian too. I bought the disobedience school but was still worried I wouldn’t be able to collect them all in time.
I think they should lower the collect time on the school a little. If I’m spending real money on the drop building I shouldn’t have to worry about completing in time. At least that’s how I see it…
Thanks

To satisfy the Visit Old Friends part of unlocking Vinny (Meg to prison) can that be done at any time or not until you get to part 6 of Who Let Dogs Out? Based on the above it looks like it should be included in the popup of items needed to unlock but I’m not seeing this in my game. Thanks for the clarification.

I have the meatloaferia, but I only have Hartman for cleavers and Carter for cigars. It seems unlikely that I’ll get it done in 3 days. I don’t have all of these extra characters dropping those items.

Once you hit that part of the questline (Who Let the Dogs Out Part 3) Brian will earn you Cleavers. Likewise once you hit Who Let the Dogs Out Part 4 and build the Abandoned Warehouse Brian will earn you Cigars. But you have to hit that part of the questline before it’ll start. I advise building the buildings in advance (to save time), but the quests won’ pop until the questline triggers them.

Here’s the thing…at no point, did the game make it clear that building those buildings would be beneficial. So, I’m faced with waiting for my current build project to finish before I can start building the Meatloafaria and the Abandoned Warehouse.
They should have display the tasks, even if you don’t have the buildings, which would clue you into the fact that by building them, you can speed up the process. But if it wasn’t for this site…I wouldn’t even know that those were even possible.

I just got the pop up to build dog pound. I wanted to wait to build it until I’m sure I’ve got Sexy Stewie. I DO want to buy/build the disobedience school & poker room asap; but they’re not in my store.
–》When will the clam buildings for Vinny show up? Do I have to start building the dog pound for them to become available? Does the dog pound have to be completed to get them? Should they already be available?

I had the same problem if I should start vinny or not so I came to the conclusion that I only need one more stuff for stewie and none of the character that needed to get the item for vinny is doing stewie and plus I plan to do it in three days (I recommend u start Hartman 4 hrs before u finish dog pound, do the math and u see what I mean). Also I might need vinny for the Halloween events which is why I’m starting him now. Hopefully they don’t come out with any limited time event until Thursday. And I think the rest of the buildings comes out after u finish building dog pound.

So, just curious if anyone else is having the same issue…. I bought the Channel 5 News Van and Tom Tucker’s Dressing Trailer (the first with coins, the second with clams). The van has a chance of dropping items, but trailer was supposed to be an “always drop” building. I haven’t gotten a single item from it yet. I get not always getting something from the van, but the trailer is just odd. I sent a message to TinyCo, but no word back yet.

I see in this post you say to try different tasks.
I thought they adjusted chances; so if a char does a task and an item doesn’t drop, the chances of it dropping w future tasks increases. So, when a char doesn’t drop, I resend them on the same task. When they do drop, I change their task. Am I making any sense? Lol.
Is this right? It seems to conflict with the new info in this post.
Please help my blond brain… lolz. Thanks!

Different task as in a different character that may earn the same item. For instance, you may be using Peter but might have better drops sending Quagmire instead. Make sense?
Outside that, you are correct. The more you send the same character on same task and do NOT get the item, the better the chances get.

Apologies, I think my last question was a little vague. Do you find vinny as soon as the dog pound is built or during who let the dogs out part 6? Only because if it’s the former, stevie and Brian will be tied up in quests for a good part of the three days when they should be collecting the items needed to unlock vinny in the limited time.
LikeLike
You find him as soon as the dog pound is built. That’s when you can start to unlock him. However, the questline doesn’t require you to unlock him until then end. But you find him, and can start unlocking him, once the pound is built. Which means the Vinny Challenge will start once you built the pound. And the quests Brian and Stewie are tied up on are tasks to unlock items for Vinny as well…

Again: Vinny’s cool, but there’s something missing: voice + animation when dragging him
What would Vinny say in the game: i’m a *** hound. Si si. Speak italian you weirdo
Animation: when dragging Vinny around, he will do nothing else than spit!

Hey; Do we have to have Tom before we start Vinny? Or will we be able to buy the building and start getting him after clearing up News Station?

No. What the Deuce will continue for you once you build the News Station.

As you have seen with EVERY update TinyCo does, we do not know. Everything is up for change until it is live in the game. We will report when they finally hit. Until then, just speculation.
