UPDATE BUNNY: You must have Brian unlocked in order to start the Jack-o-Lantern quests. Brian is in District 6. You will not be able to unlock Pink Brian and/or collect candy unless you are past this point.
If you are past that, then look to see where your Jack O Lantern is. Just go to the task bar and tap on Pink Brian quest and open the info. The details will pop up right over the top of where it is. Tall buildings can hide it. I was able to move it to better spot.

In true TinyCo fashion…let’s throw more updates onto of existing updates and do so late at night!
Anyway….we’ve got a little Halloween Preview going on in Quahog right now! (on top of you know trying to get Sexy Stewie, Vinny & Tom Tucker…) Fortunately, this one seems fairly simple…
Basically here’s the deal….
(FYI FROM BUNNY: Peter needs to be free to trigger this. 😉 )
Everyday between now and October 4th (at 12pm PDT)…a bucket of Candy will appear in your Quahog. Tap on that bucket to collect the candy required to unlock….PINK BRIAN!
And honestly that’s it! Pretty simple right? Just make sure you login to your game everyday to collect the bucket/candy you’ll need.
To unlock Pink Brian you’ll need:
3 Kookie Nut Pops
3 Not-a-Finger
4 Sixty-Four Thousand Dollar Bars
One of these colors will ALWAYS fall from the candy buckets….so if you login everyday between now and October 4th you should unlock Brian!
Here are what the 3 Candy Buckets look like.
Kookie Nut Pops Glowing Ghost Bucket
Not-a-Finger Black Bat Bucket
Sixty Thousand Dollar Orange Pumpkin Bucket
Remember you’ll see the giant Jack-O-Lantern in your town..this is NOT where you get the candy. This is basically your game center for the costume.
To find the candy bucket you’ll have to search around your Quahog…it should be close to the street. (mine was outside the Spa):
(FROM BUNNY: Look for the SPARKLIES floating up from it. “OOOOoooh piece of candy….OOOOoooh piece of candy….OOOOoooh piece of candy….OOOOoooh piece of candy….OOOOoooh piece of candy….”)
The bucket is where you’ll get your candy for the day…so make sure you hunt down your bucket and collect the candy so you don’t miss out on Pink Brian!

How Do I get Candy?
1 Candy per day will appear in your Quahog and there will be ONLY 1 candy in your Quahog at a time. That Candy Resets at every day at Noon PDT
If a Candy is available, it will appear randomly in your Quahog after you collect rent from any building. So keep a close eye out for it.
If you do NOT collect the 1 Candy within 12 hours of it dropping in your game, it disappears forever. So make sure you find it and snag it up right away.
When will the Last Candy Spawn?
For now…the final candy will drop in your town between Oct 3 and 4, Noon PDT.

I don’t know if I am unlucky or there is a glitch. I had 3/3 blue 3/3 purple and 3/4 red. Today’s candy gave me 4/3 purple. Can it be confirmed this is something that is supposed to happen?

So annoyed… Collected my 10th candy, expecting to get Pink Brian. Yay… nope. Anxiously waiting for that final Sixty-Four Thousand Dollar bar to drop. Finally the time came around and… an extra not-a-finger. Such a tease! Now I have to wait until tomorrow (or maybe even Tuesday to unlock PB. Oh well… 😫

Holy crap people lol I have had no problems with the candy whatsoever. I super zoom my entire quahog and I always find it. It may help that all of my buildings are placed right up to the roads giving each of them a backyard of sorts,giving me room to play with the landscaping like adding a couple trees or a billboard. Ive been setting them up like that since the beginning and it comes in handy because I can see the sidewalk behind every store, house ect. The taller buildings like Barrington hotel and the Q hotel are put on the outer perimeter of my town just cuz if I put them anywhere else they block out the buildings behind them and I wanna be able to see everything. Im way to organized and anal lol anyway just sharing my success story maybe it’ll help others that are having issues.

Next will spawn at 12pm PDT tomorrow (in like 18hrs from now). It’ll end on 10/4 and you need 10 total. So you’ve still got enough time, as long as you get it each day you’ll get there 🙂

Starting to get fed up of this game crashing. Also when visiting friends towns it’s hit and miss if you earn any cash or xp. Lastly pink Brian task got first two candy pieces ok but since then nothing. Love the game but all these glitches could soon make me loose interest.

Out of curiosity, as crash is usually linked to memory…the friends you are visiting…are their towns full? How full is your town. I know out of experience that if there is a LOT going on in a town…lots of buildings, characters on outside animation tasks, lots of decorations, lots of animated items…this can all put a drain on the game and cause issue. Have you tried storing some of those items? Maybe not in use or needed at this time. Try alternating what characters do outside animation?
Also do you play on WiFi or Data? Data is unpredictable and can cause many crashes. How about device memory? My game takes about 2gb of memory to run.
As for the candy, we provided a lot of helpful tips you are welcome to try out. 🙂
To date, TinyCo has reported NO glitches with the candy. It all worked out to user error, not triggering candy, or hidden candy behind items. (We have seen that too.) Let us know if any of this helps out.

Have to say this event has bugged me most of all. I got the first two candies not a problem but since then it doesn’t seem to matter if I keep coming back and getting rent from buildings I cannot find any buckets. I’ve moved buildings and roads and looked in the forest I’ve clicked on the pumpkin and clicked each candy and the go link I’ve looked for sparkles and just can’t find them. I’m frustrated as the more I look the more I believe they just are not appearing in my town.

I have Brian and the candy bucket but have only got two candies since the release. I’m working on getting the blimp so im checking multiple times a day to get ideas yet I haven’t seen another candy yet. Am I not getting another candy because I’m missing it or something? I check behind my buildings too.

Hi, I just wanted to say that I love your blog! This is my first time posting, but I’ve been visiting your blog for a while.
Currently, I’m on District 6, and halfway through unlocking Brian. I’m a freemium player, so I’ve saved up all my clams so far. I have enough clams to unlock Brian completely right now. I really don’t want to miss out on this costume, so if I unlock Brian now, will I still have a decent chance at getting the costume? Or am I already too far behind?

This is the 3rd day…15 days total…you need 10 pieces of Candy (3,3,4) to get Pink Brian. Not sure how the colors will drop, but you may be close. I also do not know if others ways to unlock him will come later too. It is completely up to you if you want to spend those precious clams. The question is, will Pink Brian Costume be worth it to YOU?

I finally found the candy! It was tucked away at the border of the game in the trees at the top…and the sparkles were barely visible. Good luck!

One thing I did to prevent that is move all buildings right next to the tree line all across the top and left borders, to prevent anything from spawning back there, just in case.

Have you tried checking all your roads? Sometimes they are definitely hard to see. A column of sparkles shoot out vertically from the candy to make it easier to spot. If you still can’t spot it try ripping up all of your roads except for a small patch that isn’t obscured by buildings and wait until tomorrow’s candy spawns. Hopefully you can find it then 🙂

How about this- can the next person who finds one do this test for the rest of us….move a building in front of it and see if u can still see the bucket while that building is still transparent…in other words does it act like a permanent deco or does it disappear when in “movement mode?” If this is the case I won’t have to go thru moving the big buildings looking for the bucket, just click on them all in “movement mode.” Thanks for any help

I think there’s a flaw, I’m not sure though… Is it possible for the candies to become available out of sight, IE, out of the line of our perspective. I have a fear that they could be poping up behind buildings. I hope this isn’t the case.

Hard close your game (ie force close the app), clear your cache, uninstall TQFS, restart your device and then redownload it. See if that triggers it for you. That’s the last step I can think of, other than another 45 minutes and the new piece should be out (remember you have to collect rent from a building first before the candy will appear). If this doesn’t work AND you don’t see the new piece…next step is to contact TinyCo. (Also remember you only have 12hrs from when you first log onto your game after 12pm PDT to find the candy or it will disappear. So that could also be what’s happening)

I still can’t find the candy buckets. I have done everything u have asked everyone else ( I.E. Brian unlocked, small patch of road, made buildings transparent, checked every 2 hours since the event started). This is pretty stupid that the event works for some but not for all. By the time I find ( if I find) my first candy I am afraid, at this rate, it will be too late.

Did all of those things and still no reply from tiny co. Just a heads up to everyone going through these problems … The event works for some but not for all. Everything bunny and allyssa say a lot of us have done and yet still nothing. Don’t be upset. The costume doesn’t look worth all of this **** stress anyway.

Let me ask you this, did you collect rent or anything from a building in your town BEFORE you started looking? The bucket for the day won’t appear until after you’ve collected from a builidng.

I’ve got the lantern. And i’ve searched all my sidewalks to find this candy and I just can’t. I then removed most of them so there was only a few to check. Still no luck. If it had already appeared, and then I removed the sidewalk, will it still be sitting in the same spot?

Just got my first piece of candy, but didn’t actually see it before I got it! I have since removed all roads except a small patch in the open to make it easier… Just wanted to clarify something:
If clicking “go” on any of the candy icons from the Jack-o-Lantern brings up the “Come Back Soon” message, does that really mean I’ve picked up the candy for this particular day? (I read a comment below and the answer sounded like this was the case) Or is that message the default EVERY and ANY time you click “go”?

Anyone know if this always spawns on the north side of the street (NE/NW) or can it be on the south side that is more likely to be behind a building?

It only spawns on streets, so as long as you don’t have streets behind buildings they shouldn’t show up there..

Another thing I noticed is that my timer under Brian says 15 days 3 hours – so does it really drop at 1200/noon? Or will it drop once it goes below 15 hours (i.e. a full day since I started the quest). I will be able to let you know in about three hours when I drop to 14+ days.

So I got my first piece of candy last night when the event went live. I have not had any new candy since then. It is 1515 (3:15 PDT). Should there have been a second piece after noon today? Should I wait to see if a new piece appears before 2359 tonight? (I find using military time might avoid confusion as to the timing – like saying 12 pm – some might confuse that with noon or midnight).

Forget that theory – I just checked back in and there was my candy – at the 15 day 2 hour mark on timer. Now I have 2 pieces and will wait until sometime tomorrow – it did help that it was sparkly to find it though

Just keep checking your game off n on every 2 hours, but just prior to midnight MDT. I do not know when yours will spawn again.

How can 12 PM be confused with midnight? I could see some confusion if she had merely said 12 o’clock, but she didn’t say that.

There is no such thing as 12pm or 12 am. There is 12 noon or 12 midnight. 12 midnight is meridian therefore time after that is after meridian (am) and time before that is post meridian (pm).

2 days, 2 candies: right on track! Glad they made this nice, straight forward and simple. Pink Brian will definitely be walking around my Quahog, as to say I play at least once a day is an understatement… I really like the early Halloween primer for us! I’ve been slowly chipping away at organizing all the different event decos in sections of my Quahog, so the jack-o-lantern can mark the soon to be HALLOWEEN NEIGHBORHOOD TAKEOVER!!!

Just like to let everyone know, even if your candy is currently in your town clicking on the pumpkin then clicking the candy and hitting go will always bring up stewie saying come back later. Just tested it, you have to find it on your own. Only have a little road in my game. Got my second piece of candy, mine was red

What about us folks who are still unlocking early characters? What levels / requirements are needed before either the hallooween trial comes to life and for the forthcoming District 9 – is this only going to be for those folks who’ve unlocked that district or are we going to have a Comi-Con event where we all get a chance at?

We know for this costume (it seems) Brian is needed. Beyond that Halloween itself, my guess is just through District 2 unlocked for the event itself. That seems to be their trend for events..

I found a candy but it wasn’t in the buckets pictured. It was one piece of candy just sitting by itself at the edge of a road. It was sparkling like the pumpkin but definitely not in a bucket.

Go won’t take you to the candy. You have to look on sidewalks to find it. Move buildings blocking sidewalks and look there. Its lil.

I’ve tried everything restarting game and phone. I’ve clicked on the go buttons about a hundred times and I’ll in getting is the Popup window saying about the candy. I’ve torn up all but one road piece, and I’ve already unlocked Brian. I have the pumpkin, but no candy.

The candy already dropped so roads removed will only impact future drops. For now, the candy bucket is round somewhere but will go away 12 hrs from time you triggered event. Also see if you accidentally tapped it. It’s small and easy to clear. See if when you tap your pumpkin, if it shows 1 candy already.

I only get a a “Come back soon, once a day….” pop window when clicking each of the Go buttons on the candys in the lantern.
