An Apple a day keeps the…BUNNY GOING MAD!!! GIMME CANDY!!
For more detailed information, you can find the full rundown on this here, but this post is more just a reminder. A reminder that at 12pm PDT the candy will reset and another piece will be available to collect at a random time starting AFTER that. So make sure you log into your game BEFORE 12pm PDT if you haven’t already collected your candy from the previous days release.
It’s time to find Candy #5. Per our test games and what we have seen via your comments, it seems most got the Bat Bucket/Candy first, then the Pumpkin Bucket/Candy second, Glowing Ghost Bucket/Candy third so we can only assume today the pattern will continue in the order of the 3 rotating. But still, this may vary by player. So look for any of the 3. (You may need to force close/restart your device to get it to show.)
Now for the basic details…
WHAT HAS TO BE COMPLETED TO START THIS?
In order for you to get the Jack O Lantern in your town and the Pink Brian Pre-Halloween candy grab to trigger, you need to actually have Brian in your town. (As the costume is for him.) Brian unlocks in District 6.
If you are past District 6, then look to see where your Jack O Lantern is. Just go to the task bar on the left hand side and tap on Pink Brian quest to open the info. The details in the Tombstones will pop up right over the top of where your Jack O Lantern is located. Tall buildings can hide it and it can drop ANYWHERE. (Mine landed on the shoreline.) But one I located it, I was able to move it to better spot.

WHAT MAKES THE CANDY APPEAR?
The candy is triggered each day by collecting rent from any building in your town. If it’s after 12pm PDT and you’re not seeing candy, try collecting $ from all buildings. Once you do this it should signal the candy to drop. So a good rule of thumb is to wait to collect until AFTER the Candy Time resets.
Once you tap on the building that triggers is (again, this can be ANYTHING) you will get a ***POOF*** similar to that of the Stewie Minions spawning on the sidewalk where the Bucket drops. Then the Bucket appears with sparklies coming out.

WHERE WILL I SEE THE CANDY?:
Candy/Buckets will only appear by the sidewalks/roads. So if you’re having trouble finding it (BEFORE 12pm PDT) try removing some of your roads that are hidden behind buildings to make it easier to find it on the NEXT drop. It is VERY small and can easily hide behind things, so I removed any sidewalks that run behind objects and most down to only a few sections. Just look out for the sparklies. They are narrow but go quite high up.

CAN I SEE THE CANDY BUCKET WHILE MOVING ITEMS?
NO! The Candy Buckets will NOT show up while in “Move Mode” for buildings. It, much like characters, becomes invisible as soon as you go into that mode. So make sure you are OUT of that mode while looking. Or you just get this…

CAN I SEE IT BEHIND BUILDINGS?
Well, that all depends on the size of that building. The smaller to medium size ones you will only get a glimpse of the tips of the sparklies. (You can also see the difference Zooming In vs Zooming Out makes when looking.)
For the Large Buildings, like the Q, it will be impossible to see the Candy Bucket. Here is a size comparison of a Candy Bucket with sparkles vs the Q. That teeny lil black mass is the Candy Bucket and DOES have sparkles coming out. So imagine that lil thing BEHIND the Q.

SO HOW BIG IS THE CANDY BUCKET?
It sits on one lil square along the sidewalks edge. The sparkles go up a bit, but the Bucket is small. I want to say the size of a Stewie Minion. Can you spot it in this pic? (I even removed the sidewalks for those that removed them AFTER it drops and trying to find them. The one in pic is the Black Bat Bucket.)
Here is an image of Quahog Bank with the Candy Bucket on a sidewalk behind it Zoomed Out. Again, notice how tiny it is in comparison. So in a REALLY crowded town, you can easily miss it next to another building behind it too. (Roads running in between the two.) So pay close attention.
Can you spot the Candy Bucket in this one?
Basically, look for a small sparkly item. EVERYWHERE. Even along the edges of your town and rivers. Anywhere you have or had a sidewalk just placed.

I ONLY SEE A PIECE OF CANDY!?
For a few of you, it is easy to tap the Candy Bucket and trigger the Candy Piece to drop out. So, in you searching you might have done just that. If that is the case, instead of a Candy Bucket, you will see a Candy Piece.
The Candy Piece will auto collect after a bit, so if by chance you do trigger it and miss seeing it…check your Jack O Lantern for your Candy Piece Counts. One may have got by without you knowing it.

HOW MANY CANDIES A DAY DO WE GET?
ONE Candy a day. It drops anytime between 12 Noon PDT to 1159AM PDT the next day.

ARE THE CANDY BUCKETS TIMED?
YES. Once YOU trigger the Candy Bucket to drop in your town, you have 12 hours (so half the alotted time frame) to find it and collect your candy piece. So if you do not see it after the timer resets at Noon…come back later within 12 hours, collect rent again, and look again.

I STILL CAN’T SEE IT!?
If you have followed all the advice above and STILL have issues, try a basic troubleshooting technique. Force Close, Restart Device, and try again. Still no luck? If you saved your game to an email or Facebook (PLEASE DO THIS) then you can Uninstall/Reinstall the app and try again.
To date, there are NO issues with the Candy Bucket drops. All “issues” were just hidden buckets, player not far enough in game, not enough buildings collected on, or just unable to realize what they were looking for. That is why we are here to help. 🙂

I had all of the candy to get pink Brian today and when I got the pop up to collect him from inventory the game crashed. When I opened it back up not only did I not have pink Brian but all of my candy except for 1 purple is gone 😦 please help!!

Hmmm. so…I got Pink Brian today. Had all the candies needed, A box came up to go and get it from Harrington’s. Tried tohit ok to go to the shop to retrieve it…wouldn’t select. ended up closing the box and went to shop manually and the costume was not there. Rebooted, hard shut down, etc.. Still no Pink Brian…and no more pumpkin. Glitch?

I hope they give out something cool for those that still collect candies everyday after they get pink Brian. Maybe it’s to reward those that play everyday? I mean what the heck r we gonna do with all those candies, give it mayor west?

I missed the very first drop, so I need 2 red/orange pieces. Guess I’ll have to wait till Thursday for Pink Brian. Bummer!!! On a positive note, I’ve managed to find every candy after the first one, no matter where it drops, without removing any sidewalks or moving buildings. I got that eagle eye!

Not sure where else to post this but.
Today no candy dropped in my town. I collected from my buildings, and I couldnt find it, so i had closed the game and still couldn’t find it.
I put any building it could have been hiding behind into inventory and it is no where to be found. And yes I’ve checked the pumpkin to see if I accodently clicked it when looking around and I didn’t. Not sure what else to try to trigger it to drop. Help please (:

If the pattern of candy drops holds, we won’t get pink brain today, it’ll be Monday. Because it goes purple, red then blue repeat. So we’ll have a purple today and have to wait till Monday for the last red.

So I’ve been checking my game all afternoon/evening and still no 8th candy. Can it drop at any random time after 12?? And do I need to collect every single candy to get pink brian, or is it ok to miss a day? Because I’m starting to lose hope with today’s candy

Any rent collected can trigger it. It can drop anytime in the 24 hour period. Some say Peter being free just before they tapped rent helped too. I have not had an issue as of yet in any of the test games to trigger it.
If anything, try force closing/restart device, collect rent, and look again.

Is it possible to not get a candy in your town? Maybe because I already have 3 purple candies and the game has spawned another purple one? So it doesn’t show up? Can’t seem to find a candy today.

Actually you CAN get more than one candy a day. I got my first one at 11, then i got another one at 6.

Well…11 is BEFORE the reset and 6 is AFTER the reset. The Candy Time Day cycle runs Noon to Noon. Not a standard day. 24 hour period more like it. 😉

2/3 blue, 3/3 purple, 2/4 red. 3 more candies and Pink Brian is mine (or at least the collecting for it will be done, as far as we know). Though with 10 days left and only 3 candies to collect, they must be really wary of people lashing out that they didn’t get to grab a costume. That’s 7 more days to sit and wait if you got each daily drop. Not hard to do either. Collect the rents, watch for the sparkles, tap and collect the candy.
Could people really end up going up to 7 days and not collect a candy?
Well, I’m an addict so I will have noooooo issues being able to collect in time.
Just need more land since we are rapidly approaching a Halloween big time event. And I know there will be tons of items and buildings.
I don’t want to “put away” any buildings though to make room for any new stuff. I worked hard to get those things and want to display them.
Anyway, 3 to go for Pinky and it’s on to Mayor West!… Eventually. Lol

Did TinyCo stop responding to tickets? I sent a ticket in the second day and haven’t gotten a reply. I removed all of the roads except for a long rectangle in the middle. I’ve got my buildings flat against the wall so the candy cannot spawn unless it can spawn on top. I’ve still somehow missed two or three candies and I log on sometimes every hour but usually every two hours.
Do I need to let EVERY building spawn rent before collecting it or does il the candy spawn when the is simply no rent to collect?

You never know what building rent will trigger the candy, so we suggest you collect from all. Rent is the trigger for it. (This includes ANYTHING with the $ on it.) They can appear at anytime during the 24 hour period. So if you do not see it, try to force close, restart, look again. If still not there…try back later. We are seeing reports it shows similar time each day. So if you collect at 10pm it may show again round 10 pm the next night.
Make sure there are NO sidewalks hidden. That is where they spawn. Some players also stating them leaving Peter free seems to trigger it.

My candy never dropped from yesterday. I cleared most of the roads and have recieved all my rent items. I have turned the phone off and on, and forced closed the game. Are there any other tricks to get it to drop? I had no issues with the first 5 candies.

Inverting the colors on your device’s display can help you find the candy bucket! It actually makes the game look neat too. Once you find your candy for the day you can switch back to regular coloration. Hope this helps those of you who still can’t see it…

For two nights in a row I have not found my candy anywhere UNTIL I followed a tip I read somewhere around here.Finish whatever job Peter is on,he has to be free, exit the game , restart it and You’ll see the candy lying around.I tried to just restart the game with Peter still on a job,didn’t help.So if everything else fails try this tip! Worked for me.

I know the candy drop resets at 1200 PDT, but is it also 24 hrs after after wen we last found the candy? In other words, if I get it at 1300 PDT one day then do I need to wait until 1300 PDT the following day, or can I get it at 1200 PDT?

It depends on the tapped building that triggers it. You can try now and later on too. Just remember, once it is triggered you only have 12 hours to find it.

For the SECOND time, I find the candy drop, select it, see the candy float to the top right but before it collects into my pumpkin the game crashes and it’s lost. Very frustrating as I’m at four candies when I should have six 😦

I contacted TinyCo and did all of the usually troubleshooting which didn’t seem to help. After ~50 minutes I went back into the app and there were the sparkles again. I was able to select and collect the candy. I don’t know if TinyCo fixed it or what but I at least am back to 5 candies and still have enough time to get Pink Brian. {side note: what is wrong with me that I am so obsessed with this game?}

I am having troubles finding the blue candy, it’s the second time which I checked again and again, is there a big? Finding the other two is possible!

Still no bugs we see trending and none reported and confirmed by TinyCo. All still just a matter of zooming in and finding the candy after you collect ALL rent. All reports to date, the candy was there all along. It tends to blend in with similar colored items.
So look for ANY item with similar color. Follow all the tips n tricks we list here too. The sparkles can blend in too by some buildings similar colors.

Does the candy type drop randomly or does it know when a type is full to stop dropping it like with other outfits? I just got Brian unlocked and was able to get 1 candy instantly. It was easy to find since I have my buildings laid out to not block sidewalks. If the game isn’t random I’ll for sure get Pink Brian 24+ hours before the deadline.

Right now it seems like a pattern. 1 of each, repeat. But we don’t know. No way of knowing what will drop til it happens. Just keep playing and having fun and see what happens. 🙂

Mort looks like a piece of candy when he is retreating. Keep tapping on him. My orange basket was hidden in red roses bordering my one road. Took a long time to find today. Thus the multiple mort tapping. But I got a big laugh and that’s why I play this silly game.

You need 10 total, 3/3/4, so depending on how they keep dropping…. you should be right there. Cutting it close.

Idk how ppl been having a problem with this easy lil early Halloween event I have gotten all 5 candies so far n haven’t had any trouble at all no moving my town around or anything like that n believe my town is unbelievably packed to the max I hardly have any land at all n roads all over the place n i have over a hundred buildings lol just saying tho not really so hard to find the candies now back to unlocking Tom and vinny guf luck everyone! 🙂

Hello, do you always get a different piece each time or can you get for example 5 reds? I’ll unlock Brain tomorrow and I’ll have (or should have…) exactly 10 days to unlock him so I’m checking if there’s even a chance.

In that case it’s very risky to start tomorrow (like I will be 0_0) as I would get the last candy on the last day and can NOT be the red candy last X/ well it costs nothing to try but I might cry if I miss out by the one aha

I love the candy event cause all you have to do is log in once a day. It is good for the casual players who are one the game once or twice a day. Not like me who checks it every few hours. I love the easyness with which to get the costume. I like that I don’t feel behind other players. I mostly play free and am on district 9 but I don’t speed tasks so I feel behind a bit of the time and I like how everyone is learning as we go with this one.

I’m sorry but it is just silly to have to move buildings and worry about where the bucket sits so we can click on it to get our candy for the day. I haven’t seen a basket for 2 days now and I’m not going to have to worry about where the heck is it and navigate around my roads and sidewalks. We have enough to do with the game anyway on a daily basis so I’m out of this one. I’ll settle for good ‘ol white Brian.

Agreed. I log in multiple times a day and have only found 2 pieces. It’s either bugged or they’re constantly popping in the 1% of road that isn’t visible, I”m guessing the event it bugged.. This event just didn’t turn out well at all IMHO.

If you have hidden roads and you know you do, I’d suggest checking or removing them.
