Hello There Clammers!
Tonight is the Season Premiere of Family Guy!! And what a special season premiere it is…as The Griffins travel to….SPRINGFIELD!!! We’ve been waiting months for this much anticipated crossover event, and it’s finally here!
Check your local listings to see when it airs in YOUR area, but here on the East Coast of the US it’ll start at 9pm and run for a FULL hour.
We figured a special Open Thread to talk about the episode would be fun to do tonight. So here’s YOUR place to chat it up about The Simpsons Guy (or anything else that comes to mind)…you know we LOVE hearing from you!

I live in uk so youtube was my only sorce for this episode it was so funny carwashi scene had my rolling on the floor and I like the Bart and Nelson scene ‘eat my shorts’ and also Lisa saying Shut up meg was so weird for words hope this is on dvd soon I’ve watched it 5 or 6 times now

It was full of a lot of inside jokes from both TV shows. Loved it. 😉

Yer how simpsons has lost its way and stuff and family guy being crude ( Bart and stewie) and Meg being better at sax then Lisa shame you got it first but we get Doctor who first lol so can’t complain u.s do amazing comedy

I liked it. They weren’t trying to do a hard hitting show that was full of emotion. It was just a silly mesh of the two worlds. I think it was ok for what it was. Anyone taking it too serious and getting angry completely missed the point. It was a parody of both shows and had a bit of humor from each style. I give it 14 donuts out of a jar full.

I didn’t think I would enjoy the chicken fight scene, since I always found them overlong in FG, but it incorporated so my nm I couldn’t stop laughing. Springfield Gorge… We’re going to make it! Trust me, we won’t. ROFL! I loved all the courtroom comparison shots, too. They paired off all the characters well during that scene and in the family dynamics. I was very disappointed in The Simpsons episode and didn’t think I would like the crossover, but it really made my evening – one of the better episodes of both shows in a while.

I think my favorite part was Peter and Homer in the plane and suddenly Bob is in there with them. “He needs us to carry him because he can’t fly on his own. Check out what happened to that other guy.” [shows Cleveland crashing his plane]

My only real disappointments with the episode were a lack of Futurama and that car wash scene just went on a little too long. Great episode though.

Wtf!!! What rubbish totally lacked imagination just usual everyday episode stuff no extra script writing ,push the boat out once in a while will you!!! I waited so long for this to happen,and then THIS happened.how easy was it to line up each character against its similar character and get them to explain similarities (do they think we are dumb or what),next time please try harder ,and don’t get me started on the story line!!!

It was the best ever! Totally loved it a lot! The car wash scene was aeesome and homer and peter fighting was epic! Plus I’m glad Meg found a friend in Lisa! Meg is my favorite character and it was refreshing to see someone stick up for her!

the game screwed me over on the final candy yesterday! it gave me a 4th 1 of 1 of the other kind instead of the 4th red 1 (which would’ve been all of the kinds needed) & yes, i know there’s still days left, but still….. did this happen to pretty much everyone else too? or did some people get the final 1 needed? btw, i loved the season opener! the car wash scene was the best! funny as hell! i recorded the episode on my dvr & have watched that scene several times!

It happened to everyone. Each day EVERYONE gets the same color candy. It’s been going in a pattern…Purple, red, blue, purple, red, blue…Saturday was blue…so yesterday was purple. Today will be red.

Disappointed at the lack of homer stubbing his knee but the Roadhouse was awesome, really loved the episode even though i’m not that big of a fan of the simpsons

It was a fun episode, but definitely felt a bit stretched for time to fill the hour time and probably could have worked as just a standard episode. It had good humour and highlights the differences between the shows. Though it does make me wonder if they plan on having The Simpsons visit Quahog with that open ending?
I think my favourite moment has to be the courthouse scene with James Woods, and the Kool-Aid Guy.

We are a season behind here so we just had the one where Chris inherits the Pewterschmidt fortune. So, something to look forward to!!

Watched it twice now and imho i am not sure why they did this episode. It wasn’t much more than the 2 shows saying or doing the others catchphrase/action. Sure there were some good bits( For Pete’s sake, the cameos, the courtroom & “worst chicken fight EVER”), but over all i really felt like they could of come up with a better story and not relied so much on both shows tropes.
For a FG episode it was avgrage at best.

Just finished watching, so awesome! Watched the simpsons premier and even got dishes done during the “half our of garbage in between”, then glued myself to my couch for the crossover and loved every minute of it! They crammed so many simpsons characters in there it was amazing. I loved seeing the interaction between lois and marge. I cant wait for this seasons dvd! The dvds are so mich better because you get to see all the good stuff they cant show on tv and this episode was probably full of it.
My thoughts on this relating to the game sinse so many people are talking about it. I do not think that the crossover should ever happen in the game. I play both and prefer to keep them seperate. I dont think it would ever happen anyway whether players want it or not because thats a whole nother level of legally complicated.

I wish they would have incorporated this in to the games somehow. Like make a Homer character/storyline for FG:TQFS and a peter character/storyline for TSTO

I see a lot of people spazzing out about not wanting to spend clams…well I’ve been a freemium player since the game released. I have all costumes and characters. I always unlock the timed quest all I do is check every hour. I have yet to spend money on this game… Maybe just for Consuela. Unless u somehow win free clams thru here.

I heard a bit of foreshadowing at the end when the were talking about Pawtucket Brewery not closing. Lois stated something like, “what are they going to do, come here? They would never do that.” Now I excited about the Simpsons visiting Quahig.

I have mixed feelings about this episode. I remember Matt Groening not being too fond of that Simpsons/The Critic crossover. I hope this episode is good.

Achem! Did someone say “The Critic”? I loved that show and feel it was short-lived. Too bad he’s not voiced in TSTO. How cool would it be, if there was a tap game based on Dr. Katz and all the celebrity guests were voiced?! One can dream.
