As for something I want to get off my chest. I don’t like the fact Cleveland is assigned as one of the Ghostbusters with him being a limited edition character. It should have been Jerome instead.
Either Cleveland is a standard character that can be unlocked without Clams or he’s a pretty much useless Limited Time character. He shouldn’t be one that goes both ways where you need him so you can do every task during an event. Knowing that Cleveland has exclusive tasks and a Ghostbuster outfit annoys the hell out of me.
The only way I plan to get Cleveland is if I happen to earn 400 Clams during the event. The same goes for Human Rupert, which TinyCo refuses to restore from my previous lost game.

Alissa and Bunny you shouldn’t have made this thread. Instead it would have been better to promote users to go to your Forum. That’s the place for people to comment about the game and complain about TinyCo. Currently, its deader there than Diane Simmons. If everybody that posted here about things did it there it wouldn’t be a ghost town.

Hijacking thread back to the event…
Hi gang a newbie here, I can’t remember if I clicked Dianne first but it was taking to too long to get GB Peter so I bought him. Then I started doing the math and bought the machine and the pet cemetery. Trying now to be stingy with clams but after the bones there are 5 other jars of ingredients!
My tinfoil hat says that Tinyco is milking us so we can cough up the cash.

Disagree. Strongly. Outside the hiccup with Diane they quickly added note to, I have been moving at a quite nice speed in the event in my Freemium test game. Not in it that often daily as I play multiple ones, but got all I needed FAST (outside cards) for Peter. Now bone jars are coming along nicely. So far, it has been clam free for me.

I’m going clam free on this one as well. Spent way to many on comic con (nearly 3000). So far I’m at 2100 vials saved up, 600fp, and 17 jars of dog bones. Honestly I’m having way more fun earning “stuff” rather than buying it. Although I wish I could get the currency generators for free because they look so cool.

Do we have any idea what other ghostbuster characters will require? I’m wondering if it’s worth it to buy the building that spawns the extra rare cards which peter needs?

Going by past releases during events, each new character skin requires different items. This allows TinyCo to add 3 more premium buildings every time a new character/skin comes out. I would hold off and wait to see what the next character requires until you buy any premium buildings. Unless you like the way they look 🙂

Did they change the kitten drop rate for the mayor? Used to get at least 1 or 2 a day. Now it has been 2 full days and not a single one dropped. And that is with jerome, stewie and seamus doing the tasks round the clock.

Lol. It is called a “teaser”. They released District 9 in phases. Just like they are with this event. You got to wait for the next phase to find out what happens. 😉

There is not really a “place” to be as the prizes are all random and time released. We will report the costs on the new items as they hit the game and you can determine from there what you want vs how fast you are earning them. 😉

I think bunny and Alissa should start a Halloween contest of some kind. You know… Halloween spirit and all. U owe it to the fans of this blog. That’s rite..u made addicts out of us all (well most anyway). I’m thinking it should be like a best looking Halloween town and to be fair to everyone it should only include stuff that u don’t buy with clams cuz we all know those stuff look super cool and not everyone can afford it. People can use their imagination. And the prize should be….oh I don’t know….maybe a date with u girls or something. Also, I think u girls should be the judge cuz u know theres a lot of weirdos out there that can’t tell if something is beautiful or creative to save their life. Think it over. Oh…did I mention u girls are awesome (I’m just trying to win some brown nose points). ;p

I’m jus saying, Payton is better and he don’t be going around telling people he’s an elite quarterback. I mean there’s still time for him to get a second Super Bowl ring. Oh did I mention he broke the touchdown record that Eli couldn’t even touch even if u give him a lifetime to try. By the way, Brady have more rings then both of them if u want to go that far. See, I think Brady’s the ultimate quarterback cuz he takes the patriot to the playoff every year for over a decade and win the division every year (except for the year he was injured) even though he hardly get any talent around him unlike Payton. Do we know if the icon that appears above the portal means anything? Are they fright points or just a reminder you’re on portal level 2?
As when I click on it the info box comes up and then the icon is gone for a period of time before returning, like coins/xp.
Just wondering if I can ignore it or if this is adding any fright points to my tally?
Talking of fright points, after buying two premium buildings, level one was a doddle, level 2 is going up SO slowly…

It is just reminding you to update to the next Level. The portal itself can only update once a week, but your event FP level can move along. It is shown in the lower right corner, halloween icon, it will say what current FP level you are on.
Level two requires a LOT more than one did…so it seems to fill slower, but no worries…it is filling up.

It says you can upgrade the portal at level 2 I’m at level 4 and it won’t let me upgrade.

You can only upgrade once a week…you see that timer to the left of the Next Upgrade.. in the portal? It’s counting down the time until you can upgrade. Pt. 9 (where you are in the questline) is the last part you can complete for now until TinyCo releases another update for it.

Hey guys do bones drop from Terror Dogs every time? Cuz you need a total of 30 to get Diane… That’s 60 hours minimum Q_Q… On a 5 day timer… That means best case scenario youre gonna need to have your game at the ready for HALF of the next five days… Not including the hours we’ll be sleeping… I know this is a Halloween event and all but that seems a little TOO scary!
Also, with the whole time-travel thing going on in the story, who do you think we’ll be finding next? Hitler? Jesus? That guy who shot and paralyzed Joe’s legs? What do you suspect?

I decorate for Halloween, but have not started yet. Every day off I have it rains. We do a VERY nice set up. It is not uncommon for people to stop on the street to stare at the house. My son’s birthday is October 30th (would have been Halloween but my wife was in a rush.) so we always doing trick or treating. It took a while to explain to him that not everyone goes trick or treating for their birthday.
Go Pats and Ravens! I hate fantasy football. I tried it once and the league commissioner threw a fit when I drafted a dragon first round. Loser.
I actually make my own ice cream, but developed lactose intolerance a few years ago and can no longer eat it. The universe is rather cruel.

When I’m manning the door this Halloween, I’ll be dressed as Homer with my iPad in my lap playing the event. I hope they have something special planned for the actual day of Halloween.
On a different note, has the game gotten crash-happy for anyone else since the event update? It’s crashed more since the cemetery came into town than during the last six months combined. At least for me. And I can’t visit my friends towns now because the game is guaranteed to crash when it tries to load their Facebook towns.

For halloween I was thinking of doing a skit with my brother where I was the joker and he was batman and I had black licorice and he was holding chocolate bars. Then I was going to ask “where do you think I got these scars?!”…. “An allergic reaction to chocolate!” It’s a half-baked idea, but it sounded funny at the time. I’ve seen people hold many haunted houses or have masks at the door (with voice changers) giving out candy. Has anyone else been to a house where the owners held their own haunted houses or have had tricks with their treats?

I’ve gone to AND done both. Set up a maze through garage and/or side yard to go through and get better n bigger candy. Or front door and get basic candy.

Make them perform tricks for a fun surprise item.
I played tricks on the older crowds of kids too when they walked up. Lil difficult at times as you dont want to scare lil ones. That’s where maze helped. Older kids always game.

So did the tricks involve you making them think it was Easter? In a photo of me with the Easter bunny (I was around 7 years old) I was frightened by the idea of sitting on the Easter bunny’s lap. You probably would have made me run for the hills before I stepped into a haunted maze.
But in all seriousness, I probably would more than likely go to haunted houses, watch a movie marathon, or go to an amusement park rather than bringing out a bag of tricks myself. That all sounds extremely fun though..

My guesses are Muriel Goldman, Francis Griffin, Big Fat Paulie, Thelma Griffin, or Mr. Jonathan Weed since they would be great characters to add to the game and we already know they’re dead. I am just binge watching youtube at the moment on my phone while my kiddos hog the t.v. its odd how far you can delve by just looking at the suggestion they give you. I am so far into the weird part of youtube, i feel like a changed man… i wont tell you exactly what i have seen, but i would suggest looking up happily ever after. I just rediscovered this guy and he put out a part 2. It genius, you will die from laughing, so i shan’t spoil it, and it is appropriate, so don’t worry bunny and alissa. Anybody else having problems with collecting coins and clams from your friends? Mine keeps logging me out and transferring to FB that takes 5 mins to load up and transfers back to the game. Sometime it works but most of the time it doesn’t.

Well I lost my game today, started me back at level 1 for no reason. Contacted Tinyco but based on the majority of comments I’ve seen they don’t respond quickly if at all. So the money I’ve spent, the time I’ve spent, gone. Thus I’m in a piss poor mood. Hopefully they’ll contact me but if they are anything like other game developers they won’t give me the time of day. 😦

Did you make sure to press on the “check out ghostbusters logo” in the quest description? You had to do that with the weekly comic con challenges, and I believe that is the same case here. If you checked the inventory and store then I would suggest contacting tiny co with the issue in game. That has helped me when I am in need with an in game issue.

Loving the event so far, I’m a huge Ghostbusters fan, when I was a kid I remember having the toy Proton Pack, Ghost Trap, and lots of the figures, had hours of fun with them. I’m a huge fan of the films too, and I’m gonna pull out the DVD from my massive dvd collection, and will watch both movies back to back on Halloween.

Does anyone on here remember playing games on MySpace, back when that was the social engine of choice?
I ask because I absolutely hate Facebook as a gaming platform & this new thing they are doing logging games out is so cumbersome. I felt MySpace was much more seamless between a game app & the platform itself. If only it would have developed further I think we would have a better online experience than what Facebook is passing off these days.
I kind of think the switch was driven by masses of people who don’t really know that much about computers deciding they liked the feel of one program over another as opposed to the overall functionality of the program itself. I actually disliked Facebook so much I swore off ever making an account. That lasted about a year until this chick I was trying to date encouraged me to get a Facebook page.
Oh well. Just curious if anyone else shares these frustrations or your thoughts on the evolution of social media in general?

I didn’t realize they ever had games on MySpace. I liked the idea of MySpace (I wonder what happened to Tom?) and have never been too crazy about Facebook, though FB has helped me reconnect with some old friends. Now that Twitter’s been gaining momentum over FB, and it seems like social media is moving towards smaller and smaller information chunks. Twitter is too scattered for me and I’m probably showing my age by refusing to get an account. I did like MySpace better than FB until too many people crammed their pages with so much animation and forced music that it took ages to load and God help you if you tried to sneak on at work because the noise and flashing graphics would give you away.

I still respect the art of language & detest the notion that the internet & the monosyllabic computer-speak we have used to replace proper grammar & creative word selection is a backward step in the cultural evolution of the human race. Just took friday off..the first day off I’ve had in two years..I am afraid I have what they call Martyr complex..one who won’t take time off due to worrying too much that things will go to crap if they are absent..well went into work today (yeah Sunday) to look around. It is still there 😀. Hopefully this marks a new beginning for me and taking more time off. next thing to work in is vacation..haven’t had one of those in 6 years.. Ugh.glad I have this game to take my mind off things..happy Sunday all.

Like the Halloween event, just got Ghostbuster Peter and on my 1st terror dog task… but I am concerned about needing 30 terror dog bones for Diane. BTW thanks to everyone here for the hint about not starting to dig up Diane.. Unfortunately I started the task, and now I have the checkmark over her to open her up and am afraid I might tap it accidently…. 😦 thanks as alwats to Alissa and Bunny for all the hard work!!

I did the same thing by mistake and moved a bunch of my nearby tappable objects/buildings well out of the way so I would notice the gaping green area (the rest of my stuff is pretty crammed together) before getting all tap happy and hitting her check mark by mistake. I highly suggest the same! If you’re short on space just move some decorations closer/buildings further creating the same gap so your fingers won’t irresponsibly fly as easily! 🙂 Come on dog bones…even with my grassy safety net I still don’t trust myself not to start her task by mistake! Lol

I liked the combined 1 hour episode, but some of it definitely seemed forced. Like how they worked in every possible Simpson’s catch phrase or bit they have ever done. So I didn’t love it. Also I was disturbed by the car wash scene, lol. Loving the game, and I am so glad this site exists; you ladies have helped me out a couple of times. Sometimes I wish I looked a little sooner, as in the case of clearing Diane Simmons grave, but it was all good. Once the clearing finished, I just didn’t tap on the completed check mark until I had Ghostbusters Peter and about 12 dog bones, so my clock still didn’t start. Thanks!

Ive been playing this game since pretty much the begining. But i stopped for a few months, because.. well.. i miss placed my tablet.. but i found it and started playing again and this was around the time of the end of the egypt event and i also found this site at the time as well. And im a HUGE ghostbusters fan. So im loving this event. And i recently put the game on my phone so i can be more involved in the game. And i quit playing tapped out cause of account issues and i got tired of it reseting my entire springfield. Level 32 then having to reset is the worst feeling ever. And i sent in complaints but never heard back. So im completely dedicated to this game.

Did anyone else have cats dropping like crazy for Adam West lately? It was supposed to be his rarest item but I got 5 in one day and now I’m just waiting on some sausages. Did TinyCo increase the drop rate or something, or did I just have a lot of lucky drops today? I’m not complaining though! Once I get mayor West I’ll have enough clams to get the brain damaged horse which will leave me with 100 freemium clams to spend on the Halloween event because I already have the other purchased players (all freemium). Even without buying clams I’m still managing to have a good stock of them from visiting other towns and collecting the group of skins for some extra clams. Not sure how I feel about this event so far, it’s hard to keep track of all the things necessary to go further in the event. I’ll wait and see I guess! Although now I have over 700,000 in coins because TinyCo hadn’t given us much to spend them on since the last land expansion. We need another mystery box like the fireworks one to drop a couple hundred thousand coins on to get some kind of bonus player/skin/building/item in my opinion. I can’t be the only one sticking up on this many coins

Ditto my friend, I’m close to 700K myself again Dropped down to 400K after buying the District 9 land/items/buildings, but gee whiz. A permanent mystery box would great, even if it was ridiculously priced at 50,000 or 100,000. Or if we could transfer coins to event items, even with a lopsided ratio (say 10,000 coins to 10 spirit vials.) Until then, I guess it’s just smart to sit on them for the inevitable District 10 requirements.

Totally agree on a Boxer. We just got our second, she’s a 10 week old Brindle and our third was born 9 days ago. She’s a fawn, cannot wait to meet her in a few weeks. They have the best personalities. If your wanting big though Saint Bernards and Mastiffs are awesome. Short life spans make it hard though.

Get a Newfoundland. Huge dog. My medical director has 6 of them ( read that personal army of them.). They’re bred for water rescue and if you throw a doggy suit on them…. BOOM secret service dog.

The best dog I have ever had I got from the pound. She’s was about a year and a half to two years old when I got her. Most people say she’s a pit bull mix, I’ve always wondered if she is a whippet mix or haired Mexican hairless mix. I’ve had better luck with pound puppy mixes than full breeds. Just think about what’s best for the dog, if you have the room for a big dog then great. If you have the time for an active dog, okay. Also think what’s best for both you and the dog. You both need to be happy. Good luck finding your perfect pet.

I have an Australian Shepherd mix and she’s awesome! IMO, mix breeds make the happiest, healthiest pets.

Halloween is my absolute favorite time of year! Do I get funny looks as a 27 yr old trick or treater? uh….yea but its ok I have a 5 yr old with me, why not bring my own bag right?

I like it! Thanks for sharing! I stored a bunch of my Comic-Con stuff for the Halloween event to hopefully cut down on crashing. I bought doubles of a few buildings I liked the look of and now wish I’d bought additional copies instead of spending so much Blam on the mystery boxes (aka: 160 harpoons and a zillion batteries) at the end. I look forward to some more spooky buildings this event!

I was thinking the same thing when simpsons premier ended and I was waiting for family guy to come on. And then they totally described it in the episode. A half hr apart with a pile of garbage in between. Lol I love it!
