First things first, you WILL need to have Nightmare on Spooner Street completed (Part 9) in order to be able to see this Mystery Box.

Finally, TinyCo gets it exactly right with this new convertor! I had racked up over 700 Candy Corn, but there was not much use for them outside of the few brew items available. I am pleased that all my efforts will pay off in some way, now that all those extra items will not go to waste (and the nice little bonus deco with the payout does not hurt either).
As much as some aspects of the event formats feel a little cut-and-paste, this one nailed it… With “Kingdom”, there was no convertor – all the unused Jell-Yo Shots simply vanished with not so much as a thank you for trying. In “Comic-Con”, it was a mandatory conversion for the Pesticides mid-event (which had a terrible conversion rate), and all the unused Rockets and Batteries went to waste when the event ended. I started to feel like al the time invested in earning them was for naught… Learning from your mistakes is key, and TC has shown what they have learned this time around. It is details like this that help make for a better overall experience with these events.
So TinyCo, if you are listening, you got it right this time – you have set a precedent and I will expect the same in all forthcoming events. Keep up the good work, and I will keep tuning in…

This event imo was even better than the Comic Con event. So many cool decorations, cool characters to earn and buy, and not all that hard to obtain most things. I just hope that before the event ends they provide us with something that requires a lot of spirit vials because I have way too many of them. I have unlocked everything, purchased everything, got all the characters that were offered and I still have 130 Bones, 120 Banshee Tears, 157 Talons, 185 Candy Corn, 107 Marshmallow Goop, and 71,349 Spirit Vials and that is after getting all the items from the 500 and 1,000 spirit vial mystery boxes. Maybe spend a bunch to get Chris Transformer costume or something. I’m content with the event, just would hate to see them all go to waste.

Aw! No more white marigolds! But, on the plus side I got over 250 which is way better than the handful of patriotic ones I had. Im totally digging Franken-Rupert! Dunno if I need one of every portal, but Theres a couple if other things in there I’m interested in. Plus I decided to stock up on a few more grass patches and bushes. I really enjoyed this event! I can’t wait to fill out the survey and see the results!

Thrilled with everything TinyCo has produced for this event and the last one. It’s nice they steadily release things, so it’s not overwhelming or stagnant, for too long. I’m really glad they gave an option to convert many unused items for spirit vials, which I then spent on the mystery boxes. (What was I going to do with 100 marshmallow goops?) I may be alone on this, but I am glad there aren’t clams or bombs, traps, etc. in the mystery boxes, because I just want to win event decorations and could earn or buy the other stuff. Very happy with the event overall and always appreciate you gals doing write-ups. I guess for this event, you were ghost writers?! Hee hee

Hmmm, I’m really sure that I’ve finished Nightmare on Spooner Street (part 9), but the mystery box isn’t appearing. I obviously can’t check what quests I have finished, story wise (POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT!), the last quest I finished involved Freddy apologising to Peter for trying to kill his kids. Is this not part 9? Or is there another reason I can’t see the mystery box. Help please ❤

Awesome! Hopefully I want get the big statue too many times. Only lack the Brian Box and three of the portals. Still need to buy the Phantom Limbs Prosthetics building too. Also want two more Effigy of Death statues for my graveyard. (So happy the graves are rewards for the Marshmallow Goop! Haha!)
I really applaud TinyCo on this one! The only premium things I bought were the characters, but I feel as though I definitely got my money’s worth this time around. VERY reasonably priced! I’ll have ended up getting everything if the Frankenstein Mystery Box treats me well! 😀

Bunny and Alissa,….now there’s this thing going around where tinyco is cracking down on hackers and cheaters and resetting their clams to 250 but a lot claims that they don’t cheat and tinyco still take their clams away…I believe that if u actually pay money for ur clams tinyco would have a way to find that out so do u think those people are lying…me..I think they are

This is a matter we absolutely do not and will not involve ourselves with. Too much involved that is no ones business but the players and TinyCo’s. I play my games and no one elses. I myself do not like to be judged for my actions. If people saw the amounts of Clams we PAY to put in our games, we would probably be called cheats too. But it is hard worked for and out of our own pocket bought n paid for clams. TinyCo knows this as they are in our games constantly. So for Us and TinyCo…we know where ours come from. Everyone else is the same.
I do not feel it is our place to pass judgement as we do not walk in that other players shoes and do not know or understand their circumstances or situation. Innocent until proven guilty ALWAYS. Do not judge as it is not our place. Allow the proper guidelines, structure, and authority to handle security situations. It really is no one’s place but TinyCo’s to be involved.
Those are my personal thoughts on the matter, anything more said by anyone on the matter is passing judgment on another player and I feel goes against the Motto and Guidelines we established here to keep this place a safe sanctuary. So please leave it and walk away. 🙂

I’m honestly not trying to start a fight. I agree that a lot of people who were affected (not necessarily those on this site) probably cheated at some time, but I know that I have never cheated in any way, and yet I was affected. I have receipts for every clam I’ve ever had, barring those gained in-game through normal methods (neighbors, set completions, boxes, etc.). As Bunny said, please don’t judge without the facts. Sometimes glitches occur and people are adversely affected.

I love that they added the item converter. I managed to brew all the brewable items tonight after thinking that I might come up just short. Now I’ll have a couple of days for the new mystery box.
Getting Consuela on sale and the converter at the end has redeemed TinyCo in my mind after the first two events.

I’m happy tinyCo has allowed us to trade in uwanted and/or I needed ingredients to get spared vials it allowed me to give Mr. weed I just wish that there was the option to brew multiple batches at once is very tedious the grass said that it has that you can only prove five at at items at a time when you have hundreds of them built-up and I really don’t need all the extra decorations that come with each batch you brew

More than likely never going to get a shot at this box. I held off on the Nightmare storyline because I am still trying to get the vials to craft everything. Overall an enjoyable event. Trying to talk myself out of buying some of the premium guys.
I do hope there is a bit of a break before the next event starts. I need some time to unlock Stewie and get him into all of these costumes I have been building up.

I’m glad they did this, at least it gave a chance to use some vials. The conversion process is way too cumbersome though. Thankfully I had plenty of vials so I didn’t need to convert. Just tried it to see how it went. Sure clams would be great, but I’ve gotten a lot from this event so I won’t complain. Loved this event!

One other thing… I decided to blow 25 clams on Quagmires Halloween house earlier today, as I figured it might be of use next year (hopefully). However, I encountered a bug when I created it… a duplicate of Quagmires house appeared temporarily just off centre, but the more interesting thing is that behind it a new building appeared in the shape of an animal pen with the words “Bird-rassic Park” on the gates. I couldn’t tap on it and it everything fixed itself after half an hour or so, but do you have any idea what this is about?

We do not know what they will bring back from BETA. We can only assume that Jurassic didn’t fair well or complications, so they pulled it before live version.

Overall great event, but I’m really starting to get annoyed with the lack of space. I know not everyone agrees with me, but I think having all this great content is pointless without the space to place it. Why is it so hard to just let us unlock more space as we need it instead of releasing a few small chunks with each district?
This may have sounded like a “what the hell” but I think it’s relevant to the event. It actually did have an impact on the fun level for me anyway.
Otherwise an awesome event! I loved basically every minute of it, aside from the frustrating of having to store the sweet items they give us.
Managed to get all the items, all the characters, and it seems like it was at a nice pace, too. Not too rushed, but not too easy either.

Many people have crashing issues during events, that’s mostly down to memory issues, more land and more buildings placed would mean more and more crashes as players use more memory on their devices. It can get so bad for some that they can’t even play the game as it will crash shortly after their Quahog loads. I had that a few times during comic-con, it was really annoying.
TinyCo seem to be doing what they can to reduce memory usage, I’m guessing that whenever they feel they have things stable enough they release more land. It’s not that they’re lazy, don’t care or whatever else, it’s so that as many people as possible are able to play the game.

Sure, I see what you’re saying, but I feel that there should be more of a focus on this issue before releasing tons of new stuff. Could they now just reduce the zoom level? I’m assuming that is what helps TSTO have so much available space without crashes.
I do understand though. It’s not the same game, same engine, or same programming, but in theory that should help it a bit. The ability to zoom out so far and see almost the whole town can’t be too easy on the hardware.
I’m just saying that I am a paying customer – I’ve spent more on this game than I’ve spent on any other game, and I’ve been behind TinyCo 100%. I think it is amazing that they listen to the community and address their issues so promptly (although, I have to say I think they might be bowing to requests a little too easy now.. for example, I didn’t think the trick or treaters quest was all that difficult, and it kinda threw me off a bit when they changed it). As much as I love this game and the company that makes it, the fact is they need to make money, and I’m sure there are a lot of people like me that aren’t going to spend another cent until I can actually USE the things I buy.
Anyway, I do get it, which is why I’m not one of those people yelling in all caps on TinyCo’s Facebook page. Just a little constructive criticism. 🙂

It sucks that I NOW have the spirit to use on the spirit box and there’s no deaths dog… I don’t want any of the new box prizes.. I just wanted deaths dog.. I didn’t realise that the prize box would just be replaced..

I have gone into my game and do not see the new mystery box. Also, some things have been taken away (prosthetic/fake limb building, ball and chain float). I am on unchained melody part 2 already so not sure where the new mystery box is. Also bummed if they already took away the other items i am missing (unrelated to dia day los meurtos). I don’t see an app store update so I will wait and see if my game updates sometime today with everything you mentioned above.

it looks like just the ball and chain float disappeared, the other buildings are still there. Now that I review old posts, I guess it make some sense that the ball and chain float would leave with dia de los muertos stuff… although I didn’t expect it to. Thanks anyway for taking the time to read my post! Bring on American Dad! I will spend every clam I have to collect Steve and have him preform an R&B signing task (maybe with audio?) !!!

Yes! This box is awesome, managed to win everything before I won the Reaper Statue, and as I have tons of. Vials I brought ‘an extra 10 of them, use them alon with Deaths dog and the Stewie and. Brian statues to build a little area dedicated to Death for when they release him. I still have a ton of viles left, and even though I doubt anything else is gonn be added I’m going to hold on to them until the last few hours just incase.

Awesome. Had to take a break from trading the ingredients into vials, but I’m glad the players were given a chance to profit from the extra ingredients. I think I still need 2 portals and the cauldron from the last mystery box, but I’ve lucked out and haven’t had any repeats yet. And now that I’ve jinxed myself, I should return to the great ingredient trade-in.

Curious that these are the first prize boxes I can remember with zero chance for a small amount of clams..I’m guessing cutting out repeat prizes takes this cool feature away. The only characters I was disapointed in not seeing especially because of the theme was Egon and Gozer…I’m sure we will see more horror icons in a future event. Give the overall rating an “A-” loved the Premium characters. Am split on the freemium..love Diane and Krueger but am meh on other two. The overall theme was awesome, the freemium items were awesome. Had no problems with concepts being taken from the last event (they work) although not a fan of the stun being taken away from bombing. I’m sure a backlash on timed events will come but I do like both a challenge and being able to use some strategies playing this. (Yes I know you two will have a poll coming but I started and couldn’t stop lol). As always thanks ladies for all the time and hard work you put in to getting ALL the event info to us readers..both of you are simply amazing ….now where to put the foot from the Statue of Liberty…hmmm

Wow, after such a great Halloween event, it ends in such a whimper. Mystery box is a very big let down and not only because there is no clams but very expected prices with no surprises. Im probably going to end the event with over 20k in vials unless i spend it winning the grim reaper over and over again…Sigh…

KInda disappointed with this lack luster finish to halloween. Glad that they are allowing for the conversion of left over items for those who were having a tough time collecting vials.
But what about the rest of us. I personally was able to get everything before this point and without buying the premium items that gave extra vials. Now with the vials I have and the potential vials if I converted my extra items, I have 15,000+ vials that are useless.
Would have been nice to be able to get some of the items that were in the Clam boxes for vials especially now. (Not gonna spent 100 clams for the chance to get for item for brewing).
Maybe TinyCo. will be nice and give us another box in a day or two or release something else to buy.

Looking at their Facebook page, this seems to be a widespread problem. To be completely honest, after spending at least $200 on this game since it has come out, this experience is ruining the game for me. What TinyCo has done is basically theft.

Any recrecommendations on how to do so other than in-game? I’m all for catching cheaters, but this seems as though they didn’t think things through. When you have ~450 clams, getting 200 taken away for nothing is a big deal. I know you and Alissa aren’t TinyCo, just needed a place to vent and ask (as Facebook is filled with crazies).

If someone ever invents a way to reach through a screen, I will treat the two of you to some of my homemade beer, or wine, or whatever you choose for all you do for us addicts! Cool! Got everything the box offered. Now if only I could sell the insane amount of crap I have in my inventory right now that I dont want. A little dissapointed consuelas questline ended. I was on the second to last part but I guess it doesnt matter.

Yeah. I can see having the box disappear. But why did the quest line disappear as well especially when they time needed to finish the quest line was longer than the time they box was available.

I guess it’s because the questline involved getting limited items such as the float. It doesn’t make sense to let the questline continue when required items are no longer in the game.

Kudos to TinyCo for giving a strong ending to this event and rewarding the OCD players. Hopefully this end of event item conversion is used for future events. Now what to do with a small army of reaper statues. Personally, I would have preferred the demonic Stewie statue to be the one repeated.

While I’m grateful that we can exchange unneeded craft items, I really didn’t need 49 more scary tombs in inventory (I still have rockets left and will earn more marshmallow goop and thus more scary tombs) (also, exchanging close to 250 goop 5 at a time was tedious)

I like it! Immediately went to tapping on it. And I actually managed to get every single item before I even got one Reaper Statue. o.O LOL!
Only problem I’ve noticed, and I’ve been noticing it a lot with items now, is that it kind of off sets from where you actually put it. Normally, with buildings, this isn’t a big deal. But the portal animations are actually slightly off because of this. Also, the trick or treater portal shows up in inventory as the Nightmare portal.

Pretty weak mystery box. I don’t ever want to be ungratefull for new content, but I feel like this one was just kind of phoned in. I definitely liked the mystery box decos becoming available, but the portals are effectively useless and I’ve already bought out the new box with days to spare. Was really hoping the event would have went out with a last-day bang or something but, in my opinion, the end of this event is really falling flat.

I try to avoid getting stressed about entertainment apps on my phone.
I would have much preferred seeing something that actually let me burn through my currency. Adding a 5 clam reward to the final box would have made it worth my time converting everything into spirit vials. As it is, I’d rather just let that currency disappear. Why bother converting it when the only thing on offer is an impractical decoration? I don’t want >30 statues of death and I don’t know who would.
It needn’t be an extravaganza of new characters/buildings/whatever but it should be worth my time. Hell, even a 1 or 2 clam prize would be a better prize than the Death Statue.
It’s great that I convert all the stuff I’ve built up over the past month but it’s converting one useless currency into another useless currency. It’s completely redundant for players who aren’t missing out on something. And that must be quite a few at this late point of the game.

Statue of Liberty foot, because I assume you don’t know why it’s there, is reference to Ghostbusters 2, when they guys spray Liberty down with the slime and have her cross the harbor and get them into the museum.

The final BLAM box at the end of the comic-con event had the option of winning clams. I’m a little bummed that all I can do with my Spirit Vials and ingredients now is buy and craft duplicates of items I already have.

Being able to trade in things like latcher talons and marshmallow goop made the rest of this even a breeze for me. The fact that I could trade 5 marshmallow for 100 vials (kept the 25x streak alive the whole time) allowed me to finish all the cauldron items (by trading marshmallow) and still have days to earn more vials to buy the prize boxes.
I’m just glad the only one that was 25 for 100 vials was the candy corn cause i barely had enough for what i needed to buy, and hated bombing the trick or treaters. Well done Tiny Co.

Expecting clams for vials is a bit much honestly. and as far as properties with space at a premium, i’m glad it’s portals and things I’m happy to leave in my inventory than buildings. I got the house, and the factory after all so i’m happy.

Just rejig the amount of vials required for a chance. 5000 vials a pop with a chance at a 10 clam reward is really steep but massively preferable to investing the effort of converting your various currencies (hugely inefficient and time consuming) just to get a load of identical decorations.

Agree. Needed something more. I got all the items no repeats I got the grim reaper last got it twice by choise to have a pair. Would have loved clams or other things.

It’s also notable that they’ve added the ability to “Brew” more vials from all the leftover ingredients that we’ve been earning. Which I was glad of, since I think I was only just barely going to be able to Brew everything from the Witches cauldron.
