American Dad Phase 4 has hit our Tiny Quahogs! And it looks like Roger is joining the party!
As usual…MORE INFO COMING!! 😉
Update from Alissa:
WARNING….Roger is NOT timed. BUT you will have the option to get Klaus once you collect ALL the Smiths (including Roger). Getting Klaus IS Timed. So be careful! The challenge to get Klaus will trigger via Stan after you get the task to Get Stuff for Roger. DO NOT Click on Stan again until you’re ready to start the task for Klaus. You will only have 4 days to get Klaus (ie unlock Roger)…so again DO NOT TAP STAN after you get the trigger to get Roger.
Roger will have an item that is Epic to collect…(think eyeballs). So take your time to get Roger, just DO NOT tap Stan after that quest triggers…otherwise you’ll be on the clock for Klaus.
Looks like there’s a few things in store for us this go round…not just Roger. Details below the fold…
New Buildings:
Roger’s Place- 150 Clams. Earns $30, 20xp/ 8hrs. Always drops Box Wines
Sand Bar- 100 Clams. Earns $10, 5xp/ 4hrs. Always drops Pecan Sandies.
Budget Badass- 150 Clams. Earns $30, 20xp/4hrs. Always drops Wigs (This is a returning item from the 80’s Cleveland Update)
New Decorations:
American Dad Billboard- $10,000.
Psychotic Hot Tub- 50 Clams.
Tearjerker Island- 150 Clams
New Character:
Roger has finally arrived…for good! In order to get him, you will need to have completed the Phase 3 questline. Stan will start this new questline “The Alien Inside Me“. Part 1 is Stan’s task Hide Roger. Part 2 will unlock Roger’s Ship for Purchase and begin the collection of Roger’s items once it is built. BE WARNED…as soon as you hit Part 2, the next ! over Stan is the Klaus Challenge, so tap on at your own risk (See above WARNING).
You’ll find him in the S.S. Bonnie Raitt.
S.S. Bonnie Raitt- $2,000. Earns $50, 30xp/10hrs. 16hr Build.
To get Roger you’ll need to collect STUFF to unlock him. Here’s what you’ll need:
5 Pecan Sandies (Uncommon)- Earned By: Make Stan Keep America Safe OR Make Francine Show off Her Muffins OR Get from CIA Headquarters OR Get from Sand Bar
15 Wigs (Uncommon)- Earned By: Make Steve Play Make Believe OR Make Quagmire Look for Alien Life OR Get from Colonial Barn OR Get From Budget Badass
10 Box Wines (Rare)- Earned By: Make Bonnie Give a tour of Clam Festival OR Make Bruce Make Bathtub Gin OR Get From S.S. Bonnie Raitt OR Get from Roger’s Place
3 Feather Boas (Epic)- Earned By: Clear CIA Agents OR Make Peter Attract New Clients OR Make Hayley Pose Nude for Art Class OR Get from Clam Festival Stage.
For those curious it’s 725 Clams to unlock Roger instantly.
Getting Klaus
As mentioned above…you can earn Klaus if you unlock all of the Smiths! Remember…Klaus IS Timed. Once the task triggers you’ll only have 4 days to unlock Roger and get Klaus. So…if you want to avoid the clock starting, DO NOT Click on Stan after the task to get stuff for Roger Triggers.
Klaus is only a decoration. When tapped he will jump out of the bowl, and back in. He also is voiced.
Housekeeping Note:
The White Picket Fences have been increased in price. They’ve gone from $250 to $750 each. We’ve put in a request with TinyCo on this, to see what happened…but for now that’s the new price for it.

Family Guy Addicts 
Send your characters with tasks that collect items while the ship is completing and don’t click on them until the ship has completed. Sometimes you’ll get items dropped. Potential time saver. Also don’t click CIA agents until after prompt to collect for Roger.

Now that it is coming closer to the end…my question is with the new buildings. Do any of the characters have actions with them? I’m thinking about getting the Smith house, the community college, the sand bar, and the muffin stand.

Hi from the UK. I bought budget badass to help with Roger however it is showing a multidrop and my first item was a pleather jacket for an 80s Cleveland I do not have I have reported it.

Grrr! I stay up late to wait for Stan to finish what he’s doing and clear Roger, then I start building Roger’s spaceship and mistakenly tapped Stan… As soon as I saw the timer for Klaus start (with 16 freaking hours to build the spaceship before you can even START getting stuff to get Roger), I knew TinyCo had screwed up yet another timed challenge for the players. Yea, like tricking people to waste a whole day for the Klaus timer just to build the stupid spaceship first is going to entice people to spend clams on the buildings for Roger’s items to get a worthless deco Klaus!…Needless to say, I’m REALLY annoyed at their short-sightedness right now…to start a timer before the spaceship can even finish building. It just seems like they’re TRYING to make people mad at them!

Question: if I click the “Go to” button on the task for Stan Francine’s Romance Novel task list does that count as “Clicking” on Stan to start the Timed Klaus event?

Ok so I’m sorry but I’m still a little confused… So I got Frachine and then got the quest to hide roger one last time so I did that ….Then I got the quest to built his ship and the get stuff for roger quest so I did that and of course I hit the little mark above Stan 😒 So it gave me the messege about clause now there is a 3 day and 23 hour timer with a pic of clause. Then below that it has roger and a little click thing below that but doesn’t have days on it like clause task. I still have 15 hours to build his roger ship. So does this mean I only have 3 day and 23 hour to build ship , get stuff for roger and get clause ? Or is that 3 day just for clause… When the timer runs out will roger still be there?

If you take a peak at this very post you are commenting on, you will see that ONLY Klaus is a timed item. (as well as the pop up had the details) So you have to unlock ALL the Smith family and Roger in order to get Klaus for free in that time.

I was almost upset as I thought klaus was a character and I jumped the gun.. Now I’m not to upset seeing as he’s only decor. Pros and con’s right? Thanks ladies. I wish I came to your site first to get the lowdown before I started my timed challenge.

Well there it is! The Same Old Tinyco we love to hate! A timed quest requiring epic drops that starts with a 16 hour build. i see now the past 3 weeks of easy quests and drops was just to set the hook.

Ok. So this whole event with no timings was great. I waited for each release to get your write up in case there were timings but for each there were none. So at 6 PM I saw the update and looked for your posts. None but I felt confident clicking and went ahead. By no means am I blaming you ladies. You’re awesome. You get ahead of so much and I’m thankful. This is more a complaint that they drop a timed event after taking a reaxed stance and put a 4 day timer on it that requires a 15 hour timer for roger that is part of it. So you actually only get 3 days and 9 hours. I’m away this weekend so not likely gonna happen. Should have waited.

Nuts. Like other posters I triggered Klaus by accident, right as Roger’s ship started to build, which means I’m already 16h behind. On the other hand, I still need to get the last few items for Francine, so I would have been behind anyway. On the *other* other hand, given my past experiences with epic items, it would take two weeks to get one item anyway, so perhaps it doesn’t make much difference. (And yes, I do have three hands. Maybe that’s why I’m addicted to tapping games.)

I missed the warning this time. Crap lol 3d 22h left and the ship has 14h 22m left to build it… This one is kind of lame wish they would have triggered the quest when Roger’s ship finished. That would have been much more fair…

i got a bit heartbroken after not getting intimate apparel peter… i thought (for a moment) that it was going to finish at tuesday evening… but it finished at 4pm or so 😦 i should get used to that timing…. anyway it was just “clothes” not a character… but i do want klauss with all his glorious german accent!! (3 days 20 hours left… i read the warning after getting into my quahog and tapping )

I hate these timed quests that start before you are ready! You’d think TinyCo would at least give a prompt on starting a timed quest or have it so Roger activates the quest. This is so frustrating!

it’s so hard not to click on stan lol the notification in the character bubble is going to be annoying as that’s how i send all my people on tasks. i feel like it’s inevitable i’m going to tap on him by accident. i’m still trying to get the last few muffins for francine.

Skip Tearjerkers island, you can’t actually place it in the water, it looks stupid since part of it has to be touching land and is no longer an island.

And the price too, 150 clams? And 50 clams for the hot tub that doesn’t animate, not contributes to an item drop. So dumb. But I feel the same with the island. I want it but not if i can’t put in out in the water to be fully surrounded like an island should be. It’s bad enough the gold digger island touches land too. So many things just irk me so bad about the way they treat things and won’t allow things like Islands to be out in the water. Grrrrrrrrrrr!

Well crap. I finally got back into my game after having no power/internet for 2 days. Had nothing big going on so I decided to build a random building. Of course I unlocked the Roger quest just after starting it. Now I have to wait 15 hours for that to build plus 20 for Roger ‘s ship. I had not gone onto this site yet so I had no clue about Claus. NCIH I can get Roger in that short a time period, I am still trying to get the muffins for Francine. Way too many short time tasks using the same characters at once.

I think TC said that all Smith Family are non-timed (so as long as you have them in gather mode before the event end you can collect their stuff at your leisure). So don’t waste any thoughts or mental anguish because you feel a time pressure getting them. I fell into that usually small window when the game updates and before our two benefactors here could post the warning on Klaus. I wish TC would start timed events that need a specific character unlocked after said character was unlocked. Too many people have been burned due to this poor planning. Hey, I don’t mind the timed event, just give me a fair shake at completing it, I think that is all anyone is asking for.

I was pretty irriated that i jumped the gun on the klaus quest, however i was equally as disapointed that klaus is only a decoration not a character. Still hoping that i will be able to get roger and klaus in 4 days.

I don’t. It is their thing. I get it. Being a gamer my entire life, I am used to surprise challenges in a game you don’t expect. It adds to the game itself. I have also come to learn they like that style of gaming and are modeling theirs after that style that’s been round since as long as I can remember.

So to be clear…I should send Stan to hide Roger, clear the task when finished, then build Roger’s ship, and DON’T click Stan or the quest indicator in top left until I’m ready to start the 4 day challenge. And this will allow me to collect for Roger (and Franny) without starting the timed challenge. Wish we were able to build the ship before sending Stan on that task, but just gotta be extra careful where I click I guess.

Another player here who was so excited to get started on Roger’s questline that I triggered the timed event for Klaus. Fairly irritated, but I can keep my fingers crossed that the “epic” items have better drop frequencies than advertised.
Is there an easy way to calculate how many clams it costs to speed up buildings/actions? I’ve tried to spot a general rule of thumb, but I haven’t quite figured it out. Thanks!

The general rule of thumb is 1 clam per 30 minutes with 15 “free” minutes. Basically:
0-45 minutes=1 clam
45.01 minutes-1:15 hours=2 clams
1:15.01 hours-1:45 hours=3 clams
1:45.01 hours-2:15 hours=4 clams
Etc., etc…
Or you can get it by multiplying the time remaining by 2 clams per hour. For example a building or task with an 8 hour time usually costs 16 clams to speed up. If you let 15 minutes tick off the clock, it will drop 1 clam to 15 and the price will then drop by 1 clam every 30 minutes until it reaches a minimum of 1 clam at the 45-minute mark.
The programmers, however, do change this basic formula for some specific quest-related buildings or tasks as they see the need. So like I said before, it’s just general guidelines.

I’ve thought it was generally 2 clams per hour (though with some exceptions). I have 5 1/2 hours left on Roger’s ship, and it will cost 11 clams to finish. I have characters on 4 hour tasks, it will cost 8 clams to finish. Though it looks like some of the limited time characters will cost more to speed up.

For the most part (probably about 80% of the time) it will cost 1 clam per half hr you have left on the clock rounded to the nearest half hr. Ex: if you have 5 hrs 40min left it will cost 11 clams if you have 5hr 50 min left it will cost 12. There are some exceptions but thats what ive noticed and it should work as the “general rule” you are looking for.

So, Not sure if this is an error, but the timer auto-started for me without me doing the tasks. I think it was triggered (looking by the time) from when I started building the space ship from the store, didn’t even attempt part one of “capture the alien”.
Bummer, as Francine still is being a pain in the Muffin and I’d like to have him complete the collection. Though, guess he’s only a decoration, so not as big of a deal.

I really wish they would give a warning option before accepting to begin timed quests. I have a stupid building that I hadworking that cuts into 19 hours of the time limit and an additional 16 hours for the ship to be built which will leave me with only roughly 61 hours (2 days 13 hours) to try for the bonus which might be impossible depending on the timing of the individual tasks and the rarity associated with them.

I should have came here first. Looks like i’ll definitely have to spend clams if i want to win this challenge. I wish this game had a pop up warning us that the quest is timed and asking us if we are sure we’re ready to start it.

Now I know the Klaus event is just for a deco (though he’d be great to have) I’m not as bothered. Just wish they either
1) did it till the end of the American dad event
2) had gave a warning
3) started after the ship was built, because now you basically have 3 days :S
When I first started the timer I was half angry, but I talked to one of the people via contact us and though they danced around the questions a bit (of course), they were so nice I actually started to feel bad for being angry haha. Strange how a good customor service can do that 😛

The whole thing is you can’t tap on stan because he’ll trigger the Klaus quest. Which means you’ll be down a man for the Sandies. It sucks…but it’s the only way to avoid it triggering.
