Bouncing by to let you know of an update we received from TinyCo. Wanted to pass it on just in case any of our readers here are facing this issue or run into later on.
Here is the helpful information for iOS users TinyCo sent. Feel free to give the steps a try.
Hello! We’ve recently found the cause of a crash issue for iOS players on 1.8.5. A number of players who have failed purchases associated with their account have been crashing when loading the game. We’ve got a fix for this coming in the next app store update, but in the meantime please share this workaround with any players who may be coming to you for help.
1) Make sure the app is not running in the background. If it is, you will need to force close it.
2) Go into your device’s settings and enable Airplane Mode.
3) Start the Family Guy game.
4) Consuela will appear with a “Connect Error!” window. Do not press the retry button or close the app. Instead, allow the loading bar to fill up.
5) Once the loading bar is full, go back to your device’s settings and turn off Airplane Mode to restore your connection.
6) Go back to the Family Guy game and press the retry button or let the game reload.
You will need to follow the same steps each time you play the game.
PLEASE NOTE: If you attempt to make the same purchase that you made before you received this crash, the game will crash again. You will be able to purchase all other packages.

Wait and see if the new Patch Update Apple is hanging on pushing hits. It may help this issue.

I got the update for my android and now it says i cant connect to server…i did what it said bout airplane mode and still not working…havent had any issues till update…is it going tobget fixed i love playing the game…

It’s been a while… How much longer since i’ll be able to play again? It’s already been more than a week? Why would you leave the game broken for so many users for so long?

I did mail them about 10 times. Nobody cares about that error. When will i be able to play again?

What error? If it is the one in this post, there is a patch coming as it states right in the first bit of info. The details are just a temporary fix until it hits. So not sure where the “nobody cares” comes from for that one. 😉

Yes it’s the one in this post. It sure takes a while untill that patch comes. I uninstalled some apps from my phone to make more room and reinstalled the family guy quest for stuff and it’m still having the same problem. Why do i have it even after reinstalling?

Any luck on that patch yet? Tried to do what you had stated but I keep getting the retry screen no matter what I do. Any help above and beyond would be amazing at this point. I shut the app down manually, went to airplane mode, let the bar load to full with retry screen prominent, went back to settings , left airplane mode, reopened the app, screen blinked, tried to load again, got same retry screen and repeated this process over 10 times. Shut Ipad off completely and retried all of these steps and nothing. So needing help. Thank you any and all for whatever you may recommend.

The patches should be coming with the next updates. In the meantime, this is the best you can try to see if it helps. Sorry.

I guess their way would work just as well, LOL.
When I go to work I turn the Data off my phone, so I often forget when I’m on break to turn it back on.
Most of the crash issues I had seemed to resolve when I got the error connect message and realized to turn on the Data.
I never really was too concerned with losing purchases, on the whole TinyCo is VERY good about making sure you get your Clams. One time they even gave me more than I had purchased just because of the inconvenience.
Now … If they could just get rid of the Marriot Courtyard ad in the ‘TV’ that crashes my game every time, I’d be a ‘Happy Camper!’ LOL

I noticed In the character tab, if you scroll to the end it will show BottomTooth and Greased Up Deaf Guy, I just thought this was cool.
