With Phase 5 in the game, we got a lot of New Content, Characters, and Questlines. Including the Main Questline that will take you through Phase 5 Content all surrounding Rick Astley, Attack of the Mecha Astley.
Let’s take a look at Attack of the Mecha Astley and all you will encounter along the way.
First you need to Deadmau5 in the Hau5 Part 7 to have access to Phase 5 Questlines. It also seems you need to complete Never Gonna Catch Me Part 5 too.
****As I will have to wait for the Cool Down periods of the Mecha Astley, this one will be a work in progress as I can get past each stage of it. Will update the post as I can. ****

Maybe I’m just not seeing it, but where is the quest line for the continuation of GUDG? I didn’t buy Belgard, and didn’t have any intention of it, but now he’s required for GUDG part 6. What am i missing out on if i don’t complete this quest line?

Just want to let you all know…if you have an issue and you email tiny co…you do get a response..takes time….i just had freezing issues during tbe concerts. They got back to me and even though they couldn’t fix the issue…they gave me 100 clams! Tbey do listen and do try to help.

I am very late starting this, so I don’t know if you check back this far. But, I am on the phase that should be the Mecha Astley and it is not starting for me. Did my game just skip that whole phase because I started it late?

Did you complete Attack of Mecha Astley Part 1 (hired a mechanic etc.)? As far as I remember the “Attack Mecha Astley” task for Peter appeared in Part 2.

So I am stuck. I need to get the overcoats for Rick, but the only way to get them is either spend real money to get the hall of fame or preform concerts, but the only concert i have available to me is the Rick Astley one which I cannot do because I can’t unlock Rick without doing concerts. So is this TinyCo going “screw you, spend money!”?

Ummmm I do not think you are looking at the right Concert. No one is being “screwed”. You should have SEVERAL Characters available to use to get them from the Rock Show. Up to 4 to be exact. 😉

I agree. Everytime i unlock a new muscian the next phase starts, so doing encore concerts are impossible. I just unlocked Rick Astley, after spending the entire week.
I’ve let TinyCo know my thoughts.
I’m worried there isn’t going to be enough time to unlock greased up deaf guy as i’ve only go 20 grease out of 70 in one week.
Hopefully Phase six will help otherwise this will be hugely disappointing as we’ve waiting so long for gudg to come into the game.

They need to have more characters drop wrenches. I have prob over 70 gold scorpion bots running around my town but no where near the mechanics to clear them. Also when I can get a few mechanics to clear I only get 1 vat out of grease out of 3 to 4 kills.

They just added Bruce to that list. His action Fret About Something now drops wrenches. 😃

Advice please. I’m struggling with trench coats. Have so far performed 4 Rock and roll gigs on the spooner stage and not a single coat awarded yet. Have I missed out a step? mecha astly is becoming more and more difficult to defeat with Peter alone (as I’m only a freemium player) so I’m going to run out of microphones pretty soon.

It says the MORE Characters you use the better chances you have. Every player gets mixed results.

I got my first set with Alice and Chris, so I just kept sending them after that. I found it was trench coats every other time (more or less).

playing freemium in this event is near impossible, with only 1way to attack mech astley getting through level 3 can’t be done (4 hr. x6 attacks), requires 10 to defeat. did the same with spooner stage, used all I had, to no avail, and without trench coats . . can’t get astley. . . . hence, no help with mech, and the circle just keeps going wrenches, picnic baskets, characters needed for multiple tasks etc. I feel like the GUDG running around in circles! lol

Especially now that GUDG is gone,I am finding it extremely difficult to collect tickets!I have extended my tent to ten, which is great, but still have to wait four hours to produce another ranger. Is there anyone besides Joe, Mort, and Bruce that can produce picnic baskets!!!

And the fan girls don’t spawn for me until 1 minute has passed, then after clearing them all i usually get more with 5 seconda left so for the concert and encore i got less than the amout of stars needed. So something is not working right

Are your streets clear and all visible when you start the concert? I tested this out in my game and if you have more than once section of road… they spawn EVERYWHERE. So if a patch is hidden, you may be missing that first drop that happens between 5-15 seconds into the concert. I also believe there is a MAX because if you have a ton still roaming when the next spawn time hits during the concert, you will only get a few if any at all. Then the last spawn is right around the 30-15 second mark.
My best suggestion are those in the post about concerts. Remove your roads minus one square or rectangular area. You do not have to destroy your town, just tap the roads away, then you can put them right back after. No moving anything needed. Stay in “road mode” and scan your entire town for a hidden patch of road. A lot of times there is one in there players miss and their “missing” items are spawning on it. Clear all Characters off that path. Leaving just the one for the concert. Send them on a short task. Get rid of anything else walking around that you can. Then start the Concert.

I’ve had similar happen where they don’t spawn till almost a minute is gone or clear them all within 30 seconds or so and they the next lot won’t spawn till there’s a few seconds left.
I only have a small 3×4 section of road in a completely clear area so it’s not that they’re spawning elsewhere.

Exact same thing happened to me. It was about 40 seconds in (I kept watching the clock when I didn’t see them at first) and then a batch which I cleared. A second batch which I cleared and the last batch came with about five seconds and I only got 76 stars. First time I haven’t gotten them all during the event (even the 120s). I build a 4 x 4 box of road right in front of the stage as the only road in my town when I run concerts so I don’t click on roaming characters. My other road is down in the other corner of my town and I pull it up so dancers don’t spawn there and the roamers can’t reach my stage road in the two minutes of the concert with all of the buildings in between. No way I missed any. They spawned very late. I am keeping what was left in my town for the encore which I will run tomorrow (thanks 24-hour DJ Herbert task!). Figure that’s the only way to get the full payout.

I have the same issue, it took a minute and ten seconds for the first batch of girls to spawn. I only have one road directly in front of the event area so i know i’m not missing them. I contacted support to report the issue but haven’t heard back from them yet.

I am having the same thing happen, and it just started with the encore. I hit start concert, and it took about 30 seconds until they spawned, and I only have a small square road.

Second question! I got the ranger station, and have the capacity for 10, but when I try to hire more than six I get a pop up asking me to pay 36 clams to hire more. Is that how it is suppose to work, only able to hire 6, but have to pay clams for the other four? Thanks.

Answered this question myself. You can have 10 roaming, but only have six in the lineup. Just like the mob event. How quickly we forget!

Hi Bunny, hope you are enjoying the holiday (you to Alissa). Two questions (looked to see if they have been addressed, but did not find them, so sorry if already mentioned). First, did GUDG disappear when Phase 5 came in? I got Phase 5 Saturday afternoon, and the last time I saw him was Saturday morning. And…..oh crap! I forgot my second question!! Fudge! I’ll be back when I remember it! 😉

Yes, I can confirm he’s a playable character, I’ve just unlocked him a few minutes ago. I was hoping he could help with battling Mecha Astley, but unfortunately not, and as I already got all 12 Hearing Aids from Pop Shows I didn’t need him for that, but i don’t mind, I’m just thankful that I was able to get him unlocked so quickly.

I know this may be the wrong spot for this but thought others may have the issue,
I am almost done with Rising Star part 4 and in part 5 I need to catch him 2X, so if I have the tub o grease will he still be appearing?!
I haven’t seen him today, I just updated this AM, I was sick and in bed for about 10 hours so I am a little behind, but this is the only issue I am wondering about,
I got that weird error message that others got for the Robot, but it was a one off and I see I’m not the only one!

Oh and also Im able to buy the ranger cabin for 900 stix without starting the next phase as well as another cabin for 200 clams. so that is 3 cabins total. Buying the 900 stix one increased my capacity to 10, I expected just 6. (I dont have either clam cabin)

Well don’t waste your time with greased up deaf guy, you’ll need 70 tubs of grease which requires the clearing of 70 silver robots which is 210 mechanics which will require 210 wrenches and you can only earn 8 a day. So with two weeks left you’ll only b able to earn 112 wrenches unless you use premium expenses.

And you get gold ones that only require one mechanic and I think rock shows or something drop them, though I could be wrong about.
But you know doing all the calculations for drops and stuff will not add to your enjoyment of the game and 999/1000 TinyCo doesn’t make an item impossible to get. I’ve only seen it in the best of 2014 event where I was unable to get a character due to drops, but that was the only time.

Not sure if you guys knew but you can send Hayley (and presumably others) to attack Mecha Astley (or as the task says, “Bertram.”) Doing so turns Hayley into Klingon Chris. I’m unsure if it even counts since I only JUST discovered this but just thought I’d let you guys know.

Well, I got nailed by the timer issue, so I am behind my schedule, but still, it is only the second day, so I am not really concerned. I have done a couple sideshows, which helped with a start on the trench coats, and I am slowly gathering the Union Jacks. I was hoping to be on my second battle, but oh well! *chuckle*
I am still unsure about Ricardo, and the huge number of glowsticks for someone I don’t care at all about, but I will not grind on it and see how it plays out.

Does anyone know hailey smith can attack the monster she is not on the list when u hit attack but if u click on her it shows she attacks him and it makes 2 damage is this a glitch or is this going to stay for good please let me know

I reported that my cool down timer isn’t counting down and they say they are working on it. But in the mean time, I can’t progress in the game since Peter has to attack Mecha Astley in Pt 4 of the walkthrough, so no progress, no microphones from defeating him, so no side shows. This is not just a glitch … it’s a game killer!

Concentrate on gathering other items for the characters. I usually don’t bother with the questlines, unless the tasks don’t interfere with the items drops, until I have a good handle on the Characters. I would not worry so much about getting past 4 just yet. It is only the second day! *smile*

It seems to me that Mecha Ashley only counts down time when you are in the game, both for the live and cool down periods. For example, if I leave the game and then come back in an hour, it still shows the same remaining time as when I left. Anyone else seeing this?

Ugh. Not a complaint, more of an FYI, but when I first attacked Mecha Astley he was behind some tall buildings. And so I moved all of my buildings so I could see the attackers. But the he moves each time. A “walking” attack.

Well this phase killed the freemium player and possibly the event. The LP-records are such a giant time sink even IF you have deadmau5 that it will take over 4 days playing 24/7 to just earn those.

I could use some help with strategy. Should I load up on mechanics (for the wrenches) or picnic baskets (for the records drop). Or should I concentrate on just the greased up deaf guy? Or should I leave several of my musicians task-less so I can do sideshows and get the most bang for my buck? Or focus on microphones (can’t remember how to get those without getting Premium Tricia?

Haven’t been Rick Rolled but I am on a Roll getting items for him. I foresee the wrenches being an issue as it is currently designed. 0-3 with Chris and 1-3 with building.
