Bouncing by with your quick reminder that Phase 6 will be dropping on in sometime AFTER 3PM Pacific today!
This means we will have more items added to the game, a possible Musician change, maybe even more help for Mecha Astley? Not sure what all changes will be coming, but just make sure you are ready to go when it hits.
Due to the new Phase coming, I wanted to quickly run down a few tips.
LEADERBOARD
The 2nd and final Leaderboard should be hitting our games. I do NOT know what it will involve as of now. Once Phase 6 goes live and the information for it is live… I will post on it.
Moderation of comments will be in FULL SWING for this. So, be respectful (see bottom of post under “Be Respectful”).
LEAVE ITEMS UNTAPPED
Same as before… for me, I like to leave some of EVERY item untapped in the game. This can be anything from Buildings, Characters, Spotted Toads, Bee Girls, Bears, etc. This way once the change over happens tapping on these items right after may give me instant access to a new item or Material drop needed.
HAVE SOME MATERIALS STOCKED UP
I don’t know what we will need in Phase 6, but I am trying to stock up on the Picnic Baskets and attempt to just get some Wrenches ready (as stocking up on them is not easy at all). I go in my game every few hours to keep resetting the tasks so I have some ready to go in case I need the Park Rangers or Mechanics for anything new that comes along.
I have plenty of Honey now, so I am not worried about that one. I have a Beekeeper trained just in case.
This also goes for Glowsticks and other Materials. You never know what the next Items will need, so I would suggest to NOT make any new purchases until the New Phase 6 Items hit… unless you require them to complete the Phase 5 Main Questline ONLY.
GO ON OR WAIT?
IF a New Musician hits the Stage, we will once again have to clear them off to use it. Due to this, you may want to hold off running an Encore Concert if the items/tasks won’t be useful once the new stuff hits.
For Example, if you JUST start a Character Task for the Encore requirements and the timer won’t end until AFTER Phase 6 hits… you may be wasting your time when new requirements take its place. So… use your personal judgment on this one.
Same goes for buying items in the Merch Kiosk. If you do not need them right now, saving those Materials for when the new stuff hits may be a more beneficial move for you.
MECHA ASTLEY
I am hoping they are going to add at least 2 more Characters to the Mecha Astley Battles. That seems to be the norm for the “Boss Battles”. So in prep I will start battling the Mecha so he will be ready to go by the time it hits. Maybe get a chance for a few Characters to join in.
REQUIREMENTS
I was able to verify that the same requirements will be needed for the new Phase 6 content. You will need to complete the usual, Attack of the Mecha Astley Part 6, which is the Main Phase 5 Questline in order to move on to Phase 6.
KEEP UP TO DATE
Currently as of writing this post, my iOS is on 1.11.5 Version. My Android is on 1.11.5 as well. They stated no anticipation of one hitting prior to the Phase 6 launch, so as long as you are on 1.11.5 Version (updated for Phase 5) then you are good to go.
BE RESPECTFUL
Remember, we are here to HELP. We provide information to HELP. Be respectful of this concept and our Site Guidelines. I do appreciate all of you really trying to make a better go at this. It is very much appreciated. Sadly, some still just don’t care and continue to abuse this. Sickens me I have to keep posting it. 😦
Just keep in mind that it does NOT help anyone to come to a post full of venting, flame wars, or pitchfork & torch committees. Wanna blow off steam? Take it to What the Deuce. Or take it to those that OWN the game, TinyCo. Otherwise, what is the point of this site even existing if all our work just gets destroyed by hatred and anger flooding each and every post we work hard to put up for something WE do not own nor do WE control?
In the end, we are just gamers too. Respect that. Appreciate the site for what it is. A HELPFUL PLACE. 🙂

Encores now require beating mecha astley TWICE.
On the plus side, Peter, astley and Tricia all do 2 now, and weird Al does 3.

I haven’t seen it posted here yet but another good piece of advice is to avoid having someone who could launch the new content in a side show. As we have found in this event and others, if someone isn’t on the main floor of the town, you can not clear their exclamation points. Pretty sure someone struggled with this when one of the side quests was launched earlier in the week (Avril in a pop star concert).

Just wanted to share.. Looks like TinyCo updated the In-game FAQs “Leaderboards” section with Leaderboard Round 2 info 🙂 This is just a bit of what I’ve read:
[Updated for Round Two! Instead of Blammy Awards, you now collect Viral Hits to scale the ranks.]
To increase your rank, earn as many vouchers as you can by earning Viral Hits, which you earn from Gold Robots (rare), and by performing specific character actions, such as having Rockstar Peter “Turn it Up to 11.”
You will compete with 29 other players on your leaderboard for the top prize.
Rank 1-2: Bad Trip Stewie, plus all prizes from ranks 3-20.
Rank 3-5: High Notes Karaoke Bar, plus all prizes from ranks 6-20.
Rank 6-10: 10 clams, plus the prize from ranks 11-20.
Rank 11-20: 1,000 coins

These better be different Gold Robots or this is a major WTD. We already need them for getting Vats for GUDG and that’s already beyond hard to get. We don’t need Viral Hits to slow us down even more.

Now now… before you panic… wait til it actually goes live. Remember they don’t drop Tubs all the time anyway. So if something OTHER than a coin drops instead, like Viral Hits… that is just fine with me. 😉
But seriously, let’s wait and see as you never have ALL the details until it is live. (Hence why we try to NOT post Spoilers)

Oh no, you are fine… it was a “TinyCo Released Spoiler” so I still pushed it. I just know that many times what we saw is what happens. People see limited FAQ and PANIC!! Lol. But I knew the update was gonna hit shortly after… so no big deal.

I have all the short shorts required for Ricardo but the buildings and character tasks are still dropping them. Am I missing something that still requires the shorts? I keep sending Jerome cause he’s got nothing else to do, but I stopped sending the ladies. Put them on glowstick tasks instead.

Nope. There is no way for it to STOP collecting them in a craftable location until you have the craftable item in the game (think Brewery items). So it will keep going until you put him in your game live. No worries. 🙂

This is the first time Iv been WAY behind. I too check in to my game every hour or so to reset tasks but I’m way too far behind I’m not sure if it’s possible to be in the right place as a freemium player because my game freezes and (takes my mechanics🔧) every few times I try to clear a robot, still. (Without drops or rewards). So I can only guess that that’s the main reason I have fell sooo far behind in the phase 5 content! I have yet to accomplish anything😩. But I’m excited to read your rundown of all I am missing while I try to make my way through to mecha astly part 6!! I guess that’s all I can do till I’m in the right place for my new content to drop & load!

Well the new contents here and I was wrong I couldn’t patiently try to catch up so I broke down and bought clams (130) and one minute too soon because than a pop up of the wild weirdo Weird AL popped up and he helps with the mecha astly……NOW I have to have him so I’m bummed that I spent now $9.98 for 260 instead of getting 275 clams😭😰
Why couldn’t I resist the temptation for a few seconds Lol

I should say I am a totally freemium player. Though the game has given me so much enjoyment (distraction from a mundane life, lol) that I will go over to the dark side and purchase my first box-o-clams 🙂

Lol. Spend them wisely. And… if you can… use discounted gift cards on sale at local stores to load up on your app market to get the Clams. It really helps to get even MORE for the money. 🙂

I just started phase 6 and it says I have to defeat Mecha Astley. I have already defeated it several times. How come it didn’t count it? Does that mean I have to wait a full 24 hours to defeat it again so I can start the new phase?

What do you mean Phase 6? It is not even live in the game yet?
I will assume you mean Phase 5. And you will have to continue to battle him. And a Task can’t be checked off until it exists in the game. So if you Attacked Mecha BEFORE you triggered the task, no… it will not count.

Still don’t have Astley or greased up deaf guy and I’ve spent around 500 clams on this event. I can’t imagine where people are that don’t spend clams. It’s frustrating.

NO ONE has Greased Up Deaf Guy. Part 2 of his stuff is still to be released. Just wait and see what this last Phase drops on us. 🙂

Whoops! I meant to say I’ll be no where close to getting greased up deaf guy. Only have 5/70 tubs of grease.
I just feel like the quests get harder and you need to spend more clams and more time to advance. It’s frustrating.

My no clams progress is 0 hearing aids (not doing pop concerts until I get RA) and 8 grease for GUDG. For RA I need 6 more coats and about 2200 more glowsticks. I just had the 10 life Mecha time out so Peter will be starting on the 2 life then 3 life versions soon. I’m hoping I can repeat my rock concert luck and get coats twice from the 5 concerts like I did the first time so that I’ll have RA to help Peter with the 10 life Mecha next time..

I used to happily spend clams but that’s a rant for elsewhere.

I’m waiting for one more triple of trench coats from sideshows to unlock Rick. Peter will soon be busily attacking Mecha to deplete it of the third heart in level 2x, so hopefully one of those microphones will be lucky. If super lucky, maybe I can use Rick in the next level attack. Will need 20 hours to do it with Peter and Rick together so would need the very first show to produce those coats. Otherwise have to wait for Mecha to run down from 24 hours.
Not really interested in greasy runner guy for my town, but am collecting wrenches and squashing robot critters just in case. I might like to get Ricardo if I have enough glowsticks by the end and can collect enough LPs, but my golden bears hardly ever produce any and Peter (who’s a good LP producer) is needed for other things most of the time. It will be easier to plan once phase 6 hits and you wonderful Addicts post details of what is available and what materials are still needed. Don’t know if I still need all the tickets I keep collecting from the very cooperative brown bears or the guitar picks from the bee girls and toad boys. Wish they would keep the toad boy serenade as a task for Peter, though. It’s fun to watch.
I’ll hold off on Rick’s Helping Hand task so I can try to finish the first clam questline, which requires Peter to do an encore. At least I can’t figure out how else to do it. Can’t guarantee I can unlock the next artist, since I’ll be a few days late again getting into Phase 6. So it’s an encore after Rick’s first concert or none at all for the clam award.

I can’t finish Phase 5 because I don’t have Rick Astley yet. We should be able to use any new attackers now, because I’m no where near unlocking anyone and I need more glow sticks!

I can’t seem to get the last 3 trench coats in either game. It’s hard to get the microphones with only Peter attacking MechAstley and the drop rates. TinyCo hasn’t figured out why I had the sudden influx of clams, so I can’t spend any for now (although they did say I didn’t cheat). Hopefully I’ll be able to start tomorrow and not get too far behind.

“Where are you on the questline?” This is the first time in this event that I’m not ready for the next phase when it’s available. Still trying to unlock Rick. Trying for the last coats right now. None the last 6 tries. Probably still another day before I can move on if I get them today, probably another few days if I don’t.

I’m not 100% sure! but I think they’ve made a change to the drop rate on the Tubs of Grease, when I now tap on a Golden or Silver Bug it now only shows the Grease as a possible drop, and just to check I just cleared 6 in a row and on all of them a Tub of Grease dropped, hopefully this isn’t just me getting lucky, and that they have made that change. 🙂

Weird for me the drop rate has worsened. I also did 6 in a row and got 1 tub. Fingers crossed we will have more ways to obtain in the next phase.

Because once you place the Vat… he stops spawning as he is now in the game as a collecting Character… so he is in a way part of the main Phase itself.

Once you transition to Phase 5, greasy guy appears twice, right after another, and continues to appear until the vat of grease is placed. That won’t help much if you haven’t caught him 15 times for his quest needed to transition, but there’s some other quest that this might help.
