UPDATE: I am seeing reports that Vampires have STOPPED spawning Bats. I did report it. Make sure your town isn’t already full of them before releasing more, outside of that… hang in there while I wait to get more info. Also the timer in My Movie Screen is warped now too. It counts down while I have it open, but if I exit then go back… its back up to where I started.
All reported. All waiting for more info on.
Few notes back. As I thought… TOO many Bats will make it so no more Spawn. 30 MAX at a time flying your town. So… wait til you clear some first before making more. As for Vampires not popping out, you DON’T get the Garlic Launcher til Part 2 of Phase 2. To stop the Garlic confusion… Vampires won’t spawn now TIL you get Part 2 of Phase 2.
As to timer issues, report them in game as it is a rare report they’re seeing and needs to be handled player by player.
Hey there Slashers!
Many times with the New Events I see PANIC. Mostly due to everything is new and no one knows just yet how to get the hang of what is going on. Well, just as usual, here to help in anyway I can with some Basic 101 and detailed breakdown of HOW TO on the aspects of the Game Play.
For this post, I will be diving into the aspects of getting and taking out the Werewolves.
Much of this info was offered in the Main Phase 2 rundown post HERE
First up, when do they appear? Originally they were set to appear in Part 4 of the Death at the Drive In The Sequel Main Questline. To avoid a lock out issue in Part 3 though, they tend to arrive sooner.
Let’s take a closer look now at the Werewolves.
WHO CAN BECOME A WEREWOLF?
This is the list as of my creating this post. It may change. If it does, I will Update it with the new information.
Characters that will become Werewolves: Quagmire, Mort, Bonnie, Joe, Connie, Brian, Carter, Stewie, Consuela, Cleveland, Jake, Buzz Killington, Kool-Aid Man, Snoop Dogg, Deadmau5, Weird Al
**Yes, I am aware that some of these Characters have dual needs. Already been addressed. MANY MANY MANY Times. 🙂
THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME! WHO IS WHO?
As noted in the Main rundown post, that information is right on the Pop Up Screen when you tap on a Werewolf. Just look in the Upper Left side for the Character’s Name of the Werewolf.

This way you will know which Character is more important to you to release.
DO THEY STOP DOING THEIR TASK WHEN WEREWOLVES?
No. They are still timing down and once turned back to normal will run over to the location they were performing their task at. If they timer is done, the Check Mark will then show on that location to clear the Task and trigger the Payouts.
HOW DO I GET RID OF A WEREWOLF?
This will take a few steps. First you need to collect Silver Cannonballs, then create Silver Cannons in the Movie Prop Shack, then Aim and fire the Cannon at a Werewolf. More coming up below.
Now to go into a bit further detail on this…
WHERE DO I GET SILVER CANNONBALLS

Silver Cannonballs can be gathered by completing Character Tasks or Buildings. Here is the current list as of creating this post.
Silver Cannonballs: Slasher Peter Do Football Poses OR Herbert Unlock Car Door OR Death Go Home To Mamma OR Chris Eat Corn Maze OR Mike Myers Reminisce OR Slasher Cat Pounce on Prey OR Silver Forge OR Jack-O-Latern Bounce House (10/19)
So 6 Characters (depending WHO you unlocked) and a Clam Purchased Building will provide them.
WHERE DO I GET SILVER CANNONS?
Silver Cannons can be created in the Movie Prop Shack. How many you can make TOTAL to have in your game will depend on YOUR Capacity. (Starts at 8 Total in town and in queue added. Can be increased with Clam Purchased Building to 12)
Each Silver Cannon will Require ONE Silver Cannonball and 45 minutes to create. Just go to the Movie Prop Shack and see how many Cannonballs you have by the # displayed under the Silver Cannon image.
If it says NOT ENOUGH, you need to collect more Silver Cannonballs.
If it says +, you have some Silver Cannonballs and can make one.
Tap on the + to start the creation of the Silver Cannon. You can only make one at a time and up to 5 more will sit in the Queue to go next.
You can keep adding more to the Queue once one is complete and checked off to add into your game totals up until you reach your Capacity.
HOW TO I HIT A WEREWOLF?
Now with Silver Cannons made, you can start the process of aiming and firing at a Character turned Werewolf in the game.
First you want to tap on the Werewolves to find out WHO you want to use the Silver Cannon on and turn back.
Once you located the Character you want, you can tap on the OWNED amount of Silver Cannons you created in the Movie Prop Shack.
Once you Tap on OWNED, you will now see the Silver Cannon on the screen with the “KILL ZONE CIRCLE” in a bit lighter shade around it. This is where you want the Werewolf to be BEFORE you tap on the Check Mark to fire it.
Now to wait. Play around with it just a bit before firing to get the hang of it. Tapping directly on the faded image of the Cannon and dragging it around will move it all over on your screen. You are basically getting an idea of how fast the Werewolves move in/turning Purple and moving out/ turning back to normal of that Kill Zone Circle.
Once you have a good feel for it, then you can fire and turn the Werewolf back into a Character. If you are not sure you are still following the right Werewolf, exit out of the screen and tap on the Werewolves again until you locate the Character you want.
Place the Silver Cannon in FRONT of the Werewolf you want to take out and wait for it to walk INTO the Kill Zone and turn PURPLE. As soon as it does, tap on the Check Mark to fire the Cannon.
A hit will turn the Character back to the Character and give you the payout of 8 Sodas.
KILL ZONE VS NON KILL ZONE
Best thing to remember when firing on the Werewolves or the UnHoly Nuns is…
PURPLE= GOOD, tap the Check Mark and fire
NORMAL= BAD, wait or re-position the Cannon
CAN I GET MORE THAN ONE AT A TIME?
No, it will ONLY select one in the Kill Zone Circle. So make sure it is the one you want. Notice 3 are in there, but only ONE is Purple.
WHY DID IT TAKE OUT THE WRONG ONE?
As noted above, the Werewolves wander and more than one may walk in and out of that Kill Zone Circle. Just keep an eye on the one you are targeting and make sure THEY are the one that is PURPLE before you fire that Cannon. If they walk out of the Kill Zone Circle and another walks in, the target will hit the new one Highlighted Purple.
TIPS FOR ROADS
Werewolves will wander the Roads only, due to this… you can control WHERE they go in a way. You can have a small patch of Road only in your game if you want. Or you can funnel them into one area.
They do move at a steady pace, so it is best to try and target them when they are at the END of a roadway and only have one way to turn and come back towards. This way you can anticipate the direction they are walking INTO and put your Cannon there.

Hi, guys. I wanted to comment that apparently if characters are busy in a shared activity they don’t change into werewolves. I’ve had Brian and Stewie doing the dance to get keys for Vinny for a couple of days now, and they never changed. They keep dancing as if the event didn’t exist (which is awesome for me).
I just thought I could share this in case somebody else is still working on the districts and is worried about this type of actions.

I’m so frustrated, I am very behind in this event and honestly will just be happy to unlock death. Most of my characters are werewolves. I am only able to send Herbert and one other character to get what I need for the canon. I loaded the canon shot Bonnie and went to assign a task to her. Before I could even click to get her started on a task she was turned into a werewolf again. I feel so stuck. How am I ever going to get what I need to progress if all of my characters are taken away from me? Is there something that can be done to delay a character changing. Seems like they would give a five minute window or something to assign a character a task that I just changed to normal. I don’t know how to fix this.

I realize this matters none to the grind of the event, just a mention that I’ve been playing with what tasks I put the potential werewolf characters on and discovered that Stewie will not wolf out if you have him “capture a chumba wumba”. So maybe it’s a NPC interaction thing?

Yup I did notice this. Also, I cant store some of the characters like Stewie or Connie. I dont know why.

We spoke on this in a few other posts. You can’t because they are Werewolf capable. To avoid a lock out of your game from trapping a Wolf in Inventory, they’re disabled for the Event.

Not a mess. HELP. If you store a Character on a task it will lock you out of the game. NO ONE wants to be locked out of their game, right? So smart pre-planning to avoid an issue that HAS happened in the past and they learned from it. 😉

Check this out. I deleted all roads to show just how insane the ratio of wolves to cannons is. I hope the image uploads:
There are 10 wolves clustered together. Every 4 hours I log back in, and all previously rescued characters immediately transform into wolves again. Yes, of my personal chronic 10-12 beasts, about 5 are PeterPalooza or worthless characters that simply are on tasks to earn coins. The remainder, however, are crucial for both event and non-event item drops. So, now we do some rough math:
Assuming clams HAVE been spent to earn more cannonballs, and all cannon charactets are sent at the same time, we’re looking at:
4 cannonballs every 6 hrs (Chris, Herbert, Slasher Peter, Michael Meyers), 1 cannonball intermittently between 2 of these collections (Silver Forge).
That’s 9 cannonballs every 8 hours or so. Yet, there are 10 werewolves or more at all times, and ones that are saved transform again in what seems like every 4 to 6 hours (aka, between each cannonball collection login).
Oh, and cannonballs are useless without a cannon, which takes 45 minutes for 1. Let’s round that to 1 hour, times 9. That’s 9 MORE hours to create 9 cannons from the 9 balls you collected over the last 8+ hours. 17 hours total for a full arsenal of 9, to take on 10+ wolves. And oh no, they do not stay dead…are you juggling Lois, Quagmire and Bonnie for those extra rare scythe drops to finally unlock Death, who is now a 2 week old prize? Well, Slasher Cat renders Lois useless, and every 4 to 6 hours a saved Quagmire and Bonnie will be trapped until you’re cannons are ready (17 hours for max, 7 hours for a minimum of 1 cannon, therefore 14 hours minimum for 2 cannons to save Quagmire and Bonnie in the same login).
How is your main quest going? I hope you don’t need Peter, Chris, or Herbert for any item drops. They are on permanent cannon duty for the remainder of the event, because unlike Week 1 where only Lois was stolen and everything else event relayed was optional, Week 2’s werewolves are unavoidable, unpredictable (there is no visible timer of WHEN a character will transform again. Ever been hovering over the task bubble about to assign one and suddenly it disappears? Yup, that’s a minimum of 7 hours before you can use that character again, and he or she is doing absolutely nothing for you during those 7 hours), and they steal over half of your characters, delaying their tasks by several hours, even days. You must pick and choose who to leave as a desolate waste of space and who to save again and again. And, therefore this becomes a juggle between event item drops and main questline item drops.
Unless this is alleviated soon, this game will be a frustrating mess interfering with itself by increasing character and item drop timers for the remainder of this Halloween event. TinyCo has told me “my concerns would be forwarded to the team and that all suggestions are welcome, but the event currently is set to go on as planned.” This means there is likely not going to be a change in werewolf appearance rates or the cannon-werewolf imbalanced ratio. If you’ve been enticed by Death at the Drive-In enough to complete its quests up to triggering werewolves, essentially important characters like Peter and Quagmire are going to be drastically inaccessible for anything non-event related until it is over. Here’s to hoping Weeks 3, 4, and 5 are not so cruel. Losing Lois to Slasher Cat in Week 1 was annoying, but manageable; it was a Peter and Lois side thing every so often. But, now it is almost everyone in Quahog getting delayed, and you have no choice but to participate if you still need those characters for your main quests.

I appreciate your personal experience being shared with others. I am sure many are seeing the same… but I wanted to comment to you on something specific.
“my concerns would be forwarded to the team and that all suggestions are welcome, but the event currently is set to go on as planned”
Don’t read too much into it. It means even WITH issues, they are on a set schedule that was pre-planned months ago for the Event and they are contracted legally to follow it. They are not able to deviate from it. In other words, they can’t just stop it to a screeching halt. They have to do what they can “on the fly” to help with what is already in there and also set and scheduled already to come. That is all “set to go on as planned” means. 😉

Hello, several times lately when I Bomb a wolf the caracter does not go back to the task they were on. They are kicked out of task and you have to resend them. I have seen it happen on Mort, Bonnie, and Quagmire. I was not sure at first so this last time I sent all 3 on tasks and Mort turned into a wolf. I bombed him and he just went to the que waiting for a task. Is anyone else having this problem? Thanks.

Yes. Report it please.
Also, make sure you do NOT touch the character or pull up their task menu once back. Allow them time to return to the building location to make sure they get there and finish it. Any interruption on that route back will stop the task.

This seems like the best thread to ask this question: should my reel exchange rate be fluctuating? This morning, I was Scream Level 8 and my exchange rate was 50 sodas for 10 reels or 80 popcorn plus 27 soda for 12 reels. When I just logged in at lunchtime to get my balloon launcher, I see that my exchange rate is 50 sodas for 10 reels but 130 popcorn plus 45 soda for 12 reels. (And I’m still at Scream Level 8). This isn’t the first time I’ve seen the conversion change when I was in the same Scream Level (sometimes the materials needed drops), but I can’t figure out a pattern or what’s triggering the change. Any thoughts?

Yes. I noted in the main rundown post for Phase 2 that it WILL vary. I do not know every single factor that causes it, just what I see on my end. Questlines may change it. Unlocking something may change it. Level change may change it. WAY TOO MANY VARIABLES. So I asked players to note their results. It is all over the place.

Except that has the danger of making it more likely another wolf waltzes into range and steals it. You have to abort your fire and track your intended all over again.

Kinda beside myself. I am using my cannons at werewolves and they are not paying out anything at all. I am timing them so I know they are done with their task and they are just showing up as ready to be assigned without going back to the task site so I can click on them. I have seen others with same. Is TinyCo aware? I have in-game messaged them twice. Kinda pointless to turn them back if they aren’t even going to pay out. I haven’t gotten water balloon (or anything) from Bonnie, Joe, Mort or Quagmire in two days and I have used every cannon at them.
LikeLike
Just to be clear… you only get Sodas from the Silver Cannon Bombing. Nothing more. What you are talking about is a Task the Character was on and completely separate from the Wolf Bombings
As to what task the Character was on, you need to wait for them to return to that location. As soon as I turn a Character… I follow them as they wander back to that location. Then it is just like 2secs for it to sync up, and if they were indeed done with that 2-4-6 or w/e hour task they had… the Check mark appears and I tap it.
They will NOT show a Check Mark at the street where Werewolves wander if they were in a building. They have to return to the building as that is where the payout for the Material is linked and the Check Mark appears.
LikeLike
And never ever tap the character before it’s gone back into its building… They act taskless during the journey, and tapping brings up the task list to re-assign them. Closing the task window without re-assigning does not get them back on
track, and you lose the drop. They have to go back into their building undisturbed before they remember what they were doing… So follow them back as Bunny says, but don’t touch!
I keep a list telling me when each vital character’s task is done, and only hit them with a cannonball if it’s past that time. Otherwise they might turn again before the drop. No way to tell in the game when they’re furry, since they disappear from the building progress list.

I will try to make this more clear.
I send Quagmire, Bonnie, Joe on tasks (typically their water balloon task).
I wait more than four hours (the time of their task). I find their werewolf. I change them back. They immediately become available in the finder as ready to be sent on task. They don’t return to the task I placed them on. Yes, they pay out sodas, but they don’t return to the task they were originally sent on and they don’t have a check mark. They are immediately available for a new task in the upper right hand corner so the game doesn’t have them completing any task. This has been going on for three days now.
I am waiting the appropriate amount of time (i am doing this overnight or letting them wait all day). I understand the concept. I was doing it fine up until Tuesday morning (the same time I got Death if that helps at all). I want them to return to the building where I had put them on task (respective houses for Bonnie & Quag, Murder Point for Joe), but they just return to my patch of sidewalk waiting to be assigned something to do.
I know there are impatient people who might not understand what is taking place, but I have a clear understanding. I should be sending the character to a task. Even if he becomes a werewolf, after the duration of the task, if I turn him back, he should go to the building and show a checkmark. Then, I can collect and send him on another task. Problem is, they are not returning to the building and I never get a check mark. They are just being available to be resent on a task. So not only am I not getting the water balloons I am hoping to get, I also am wasting a cannon turning back a character that doesn’t pay out anything. It is as if I am turning back Consuela or Buzz (where they have no payout for the event). I am certain I am picking Bonnie, Joe and Quagmire (can see their names in the cannon box) and these characters pay out sodas and are then waiting to be put on task. The last three overnights this has been the case. The only thing I can think of is they don’t reach their building destination before turning into a werewolf so the game doesn’t think they have been put on task, but last night I purposefully watched each character arrive to the destination and then checked that the timer was counting down before finishing the rest of my tasks and exiting the game. I am being vigilant about making sure this is what is taking place because I am not interested in wasting yours or TinyCo’s time if I am just being silly or impatient. Three straight nights this is happening. And I am just letting them be werewolves during the day so i am 100 percent certain that their tasks have been completed before attempting to turn them.
Unless I am just the unluckiest person on earth, I can’t be the only one this is happening to which is why I am sharing it. I in-game messaged them yesterday and didn’t even get an auto-message so I am hoping they are looking into it. I wish I could send a video of it so someone could see for verification. I will see if I can borrow another device to video it to show. But my game is basically at a standstill because I don’t want to waste the cannons and I am not getting water balloons from the task to help generate popcorns to help me get reels.
And one last thing, great that they changed the death task to Peter to assist in the main questline, but you still need slasher Lois to advance the questline and I can’t get her because I can’t get reels. So people are stuck either way.
Thank you for your time. Sorry for the length of this but I wanted to make my position clear.

Let me ask you this, as I have seen this myself as well as other players… do you at anytime TAP on that Character once they turn back?
The reason I ask is if you in anyway alter them going back to their location by tapping on them, pulling up their task menu, or anything else… it somehow cancels the action. Learned this the hard way myself. That’s why in the post I stated to let them return to their spot.
Yes, they do show up in the task menu as for those few seconds they are essentially “free” of anything until they return to that location.
So in your case, if you are not stopping them in anyway by tapping on their image in the top corner or on them in the game and they STILL are not returning… Alerting TinyCo would be the best thing to do.

Thank you Bunny. I was really trying to pay attention because I knew this is not what you said should happen and I tested it for two days before I messaged TinyCo. I am leaving an amount of time for the task to complete before trying to turn them. I am turning them and watching the sodas appear and the character not go to the site of the previous task and immediately become available to be assigned another task. Been happening since Tuesday morning. I know this is not what you said should take place so I brought it up. I stopped attempting to turn them and sought information here, mostly to see if this was happening to others so i could wait out a TinyCo fix. If no one is having the same problem and there won’t be attention paid to a fix, then I am just out of luck. I won’t take up any more of the real estate here for a problem that pertains solely to me. I will hope TinyCo can reach out to me while the event is still taking place and see what I am speaking about. Based on the past, I won’t be expecting much assistance. There are so many items that need fixing that are affecting larger volumes of players that that is where the attention should be focused. As always, your attention to my situation is mucho appreciated.

Just know that even small issues… I watch and report. Main response to individual issues as they are isolated is “have them write in” because if it is not happening in my games or their games… they have no way of locating the cause of the issue to find a resolution.
My hopes, as sad as that sounds, is that it is linked to the issue I described… just a bit further down. So maybe the main one players are seeing being looked at and hopefully fixed soon will help you too. 🙂

I still have to get 592 movie reels before I can move on to the next phase. Unfortunately, the last item in the Project Booth is timed, so I need to have 300 reels ready to go when I get Slasher Bait Lois.
I need to get Slasher Bait Lois before I start Patty’s timer, because she requires Lois to be brutally murdered 3 times.
Is everyone else in a similar situation as me? I feel like I’m being held back each step of the way.
Details:
Need 4 more Scythes for Death and Slasher Bait Peter be Brutally Murdered.
Just got the Warded Bunker.
My progress seems very slow. I did the math. If I need 592 movie reels, that’s 60 trades I have to make using 1,620 Sodas. Assuming my trade rate of 27 sodas to 10 movie reels on Scream Level 6. If I only use werewolves which give a better payout, that’s between 180 and 231 werewolves and silver cannonballs. Seems insurmountable before the next phase.

I feel your pain. I had enough reels to get slasher cat but I chose not to. So I was able to buy a few other things from the 2nd page in the projector booth. I just unlocked death and still need the witch tree before I can unlock bait lois plus the timer for patty is at 2.5 days remaining. My suggestion is to maybe not care about that timed item after lois and move on. But it all comes down to how much you want these things and how willing you are to pay for them with your time and or money.

I’d say you forget about the skin prize. 300 reels is a lot and if you’re that behind maybe it’s best if you leave it. It’s just decor and it’s not that helpful. I made the effort with Slasher Cat because he helps with the cannon balls and scythes (and I think it’s hilarious), but the skin won’t help me at all, so I’ll drop it. I’m moving to phase 3 after I get Lois and I’ll let the timer expire.
To cheer up, think of this: we slow players have the advantage of knowing what has a timer, when things get more difficult, or what we shouldn’t click because fast players did it before. 😛 Also, it’s a game. It should e fun. You just do what you can. If you complete the challenges good; if not, oh well, not such a big deal. Don’t get so stressed with a game when there’s already plenty of problems in real life to do it 🙂
