Update: The Awaiting Moderation problem should be fixed now. Let me know if you continue to see problems. One thing I will say is I didn’t see a message if I wasn’t logged into a WordPress account. So if you’re not seeing the message it could be because you’re not logged in….
Hello There Clammers!
Just popping in with a quick post about something many of you are commenting on (and emailing us about)….the Comment Awaiting Moderation message that’s disappeared.
Typically when you comment on Family Guy Addicts you see a message that looks like this when you initially make a comment:
But since this past weekend, many of you have pointed out that the awaiting moderation message has disappeared…as has your comment. While we still see your comments on our end, you guys don’t realize they went through and often times will comment again (and again) or email us wondering if you’ve been banned for some reason.
Here’s the deal….this is a bug on WordPress’ end. It took a little while, but we’ve finally figured out (after working with WP) what’s happening and why it’s happening. So over the course of today I’m going to take the steps necessary to correct the problem. (unfortunately it’s not as simple as WP “flipping a switch”). So the site may look a little funky for a few minutes today…but all the content will still be there and by the time I’m done the “Awaiting Moderation” message will come back.
Sorry for the frustration and anger this may have caused some of you. I know we saw several emails from people wondering why they were banned from the site. I promise we haven’t banned anyone…it’s just a bug that we’ll now fix. 🙂
Thanks for your patience with this!

Argh, my half broken Android device just died. My house had a power surge/drop and now it can’t get past the load screen. I really don’t want to install Family Guy on my other device with all the problems it causes. 😦

Is this related to the new thing that I now have to re-enter my name and e-mail address on every single post? Before, I just had to enter it once and the site remembered it for months. Or is this a polite way to tell us to shut up and listen?!? 🙂 I haven’t changed anything on my phone.

lol no that’s a wordpress thing. It looks like they’re trying to get people to create accounts if they want the convenience

So it takes WP to switch things up so we can get Alissa to post on the site again?!?!? YOU ARE MISSED. And best wishes and all that jazz for your impending addition. Our prayers are with you and all that everything runs as planned.
And don’t worry Bunny; you will always be loved the same. 🙂

Right now THIS game is too stressful and frustrating for me and my crazy pregnancy hormones lol So maybe after the baby’s born I’ll be back…or you know if TinyCo makes the game less stressful and frustrating 😉
But it’s always nice to know I’m missed 🙂

I have a word press log in and it makes me type in my name and email, then when I hit post comment it makes my type in my password every time now. It use to remember me.

We are still working through it all. It is impacting us on this end too with our usual work and posts.

Two word solution that even has a new way to earn revenue: USE DISQUS. Faster and simpler.

two problems:
1. Can’t moderate comments with DISQUS….and the whole point is for us to moderate your comments (otherwise this wouldn’t be a problem).
2. WordPress doesn’t support it the way we use WP now. So unless you want to shell out $1500-$2000/month so we can go on our own independent dedicated server that won’t crash with the volume of traffic we do each day, we’re stuck with this 🙂

I hate Disqus- it makes it so difficult to read comments in installments with their “load more” function rather than nice stable pages. And it can be pretty slow on some devices.
