Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee’re Off to see the Wizard…
Looks like the New Event has dropped itself into our silly lil games. Lions and Tigers and …. Takei?? OHHHHH MYYYY! Lol. Not really but it seemed to fit.
Stay tuned while we go through all the exciting new information, details, and Characters with There’s No Place Like Quahog!
THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE QUAHOG ENDS NOVEMBER 29th @3PM PACIFIC
Sorry for the delay, was stuck at a meeting… updating as fast as I can now.
First up, the Basics
- Players will need to be on the App Market Version 1.30.3 or higher (Google was 1.31.0) in order to see the event.
- Players will need to have at LEAST District 3 Unlocked and Al’s complete.
- Players will only see this on the Mobile App Version (iOS, Google, Amazon, Facebook). NOT Windows Stand Alone
- PLAY THE GAME! Items unlock in stages and as you progress, so if you do not see an item it is most likely you have not progressed far enough in the Main Questline to unlock it. Check details below for more specifics on unlock points
- Don’t have a TON of Tasks open in your Task Menu. If you have too many open, no new ones can arrive. (Keep it under 10). If you do not see new Tasks popping up, clear out some incomplete Tasks already on your List to make room for more
KNOWN ISSUES
Thanks S.T. for the image. 🙂
It seems some Players are being spammed by Kool-Aid Man (feel free to email me screenshots if you are seeing this familyguyaddicts@gmail.com). TinyCo is aware of the issue and working to locate source to patch it.
In the meantime, I will see what info I can gather. So far it seems to be mainly iOS users. Let me know the following…
- Are you iOS or Google or Other
- Type of Device
- Device Version (for instance, what version from Apple did you last update your device to)
- App Version (what app market version does it show you are running for Family Guy)
- Any recent updates or patches via the Device manufacturer recently
- Any other info you feel may help

EMERALDS
This will be the main currency of the Event. You will see a counter for it at the top center of your game screen. You will use them all over. Keep in mind that once used, they are gone. For instance if you tap the CHECK MARK on one of the Characters needing them, whether you are ready or not to unlock them, you will take ALL the Emeralds they require and can’t get them back.
So make sure you are ready to use them on a Character unlock BEFORE tapping that Check Mark. It will usually give you a Pop Up asking you to “PAY UP” before taking them.
NOTE: Some of these tasks I did not see appear until I reached a certain point unlock in the Questline, like Placing the Cornfield and triggering Scarecrow Peter’s Items.
Emeralds: Peter Buy a Compass OR Peter Visit Petting Zoo OR Peter Step on Ants OR Lois Sleep Deep OR Bonnie Play Mind Games OR Bonnie Braid Her Hair OR Bonnie Skip Night School OR Chris Dream of Monkeys OR Chris Ride Grocery Carts OR Chris Flaunt Participation Award OR Herbert Eat Soft Foods OR Joe Shop For Produce OR Quagmire Go Bananas OR Jerome Make Like a Banana OR ALL Toto Brian Tasks OR Bruce Paint Bricks Yellow OR Bruce Look For Yellow Brick Roads OR Mort Wear Brainy Glasses OR Various Buildings OR Questlines OR Winged Monkeys
WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST
This will be the “BOSS BATTLE” area for the Event. In order to Battle the Wicked Witch you will need to collect various Materials through game play and use them to go up against her various Levels to earn Payouts. You will start to unlock this feature at Once Upon a Rainbow Pt. 4
You will start to see her flying around Emerald City on her Broomstick at this point with a 24hr Timer over the City. You will have 24hrs to attack her up to 4X or as high as you can get before she goes into Cool Down.

Cool Down Time: Still working to verify, mine showed a timer of 9hrs (by tapping on Emerald City) once I hit 4X Level or 18 Clams to resurrect now
WINGED MONKEYS
These are the next lil “Bad Guys”. Much like in the past, you will have to collect Material to make an item to Launch at them. To launch, you will need to tap on them, move target until they are highlighted in PURPLE, then tap the checkmark to launch.
You will start to see info for them during Once Upon a Rainbow Pt. 2. I started with 5 Flying Monkeys in my game.
Winged Monkeys: Require 1 Banana Suit Munchkin to be launched at them to clear them
Chance Payout:
+1 Floppy Hats (won’t show til you place Cornfield)
+1 Straw
+2 Emeralds
Respawn Time: It seems mine came back within 2-3 hrs with 5 of them MAX.
THE MUNCHKIN ACADEMY
Here is where you will create “Weapons” to use against the “Bad Guys” in the game. There will be various times and Materials required for each one.
Just like in the past there will be a CAPACITY and a QUEUE you will need to pay attention to.
Capacity: The TOTAL amount of items you can have already created and in Queue combined. I started out at 8 Capacity. Once you hit MAX Capacity, you will have to use the “Weapons” to clear out room before you can create anymore
Queue: The TOTAL amount of items you can have creating at one time. My game started out with 6 spots, but still testing to see if all can be used I could only use 4 of the Spots in the Queue. Once your Queue is full, you will not be able to create anymore items until the ones already there are timed out and complete. You can continue to create items in the Queue until you have reached the MAX Capacity. Once an item is completed in the Queue, the next item will automatically start and continue til all are complete
For the First Phase you will be Training Banana Munchkins.
Banana Suit Munchkins: Requires 1 Bananas to Train
Time to Train: 1hrs 30min
Bananas (Common): Joe Shop For Produce OR Herbert Eat Soft Foods OR Quagmire Go Bananas OR Jerome Make Like a Banana OR Jumbo Lollipop Shop OR Munchkinland Mini Mart
FALLEN FARMHOUSE
Here is where you will Exchange Materials for Buildings & Decorations you will need for the Event. I do not see an order required to them. You will find it over in the Event Area.
Keep in mind many Materials will not show up until you reach the Character/Item needed them in the progression of the game.

I bought the jumbo lollipop shoppe and it’s nowhere to be found, it’s grey, my emeralds are gone, but no building. Also I found a building called Peters castle, so I placed it, but then I put it back in inventory hoping it would spur the other building to show. But now is gone also. I don’t even see a tab for this event in my inventory. Smh
LikeLike
The “Recent” tab was causing issues so they had to remove it last Event. Due to this there is no recent option nor new Event. So… back to tedious old ways of locating inventory items. Scroll and scroll and scroll. Use Building option to lessen amount to scroll through.

FYI. The diplomas are marked as always but marked as chance on the tasks. They aren’t always dropping either so I’m assuming they are probably supposed to be common. I’ve message Tiny Co to report the discrepancy.

Is it worth buying the emerald mine? 400 clams is a lot…

I would say it depends on how often you play really. I am always hesitant on Premium Buildings myself.
Emeralds will be your main source of game currency throughout. So it really is just a matter of if YOU feel you will need it and it will be worth it to YOU. There are many places throughout to earn Emeralds. It will all depend on game play. For me, I bought it as I know it will be of good use to me as I speed through the tasks for the site. It will help me get my items faster for updates.
I may do a “SHOULD I BUY” on it. 😉

Many tasks have specific “unlock” points, so you may not see them until you unlock them. Where are you in the game progress? Is it prompting you to send her yet?
LikeLike
We’re in Once Upon a Rainbow Pt. 5 and have the cornfield placed with Scarecrow Peter waiting to be unlocked. We haven’t been prompted to send her yet. I saw her task listed in your post but couldn’t find it on her screen – also totally blanked that it might not have been unlocked yet.
Thanks for the response and keeping us updated!

Update 1.31.0 is now available for iPhone, but if my event is running well, should i update? With all these new issues being reported, i am hesitant. I usually apply all updates, so I should be at 1.30.3 now, with no Wicked Glitches.
LikeLike
Just check your town FIRST and try to clear as much “memory space” first. I am seeing a lot of people crashing who’s towns are also jammed full of items. So the extra animations are causing major memory drain.
I also wonder if 1.31.0 will help those having issues. Just let me know

What the heck! I’ve made multiple Banana Suit Munchkins, tapped on the Winged Monkey, and the Banana Munchkin just disappears and does nothing to my Winged Monkeys. Am I missing something?!

Did you tap and just select check mark? Or did you wait til the monkey was Purple and coming right at it?
If it’s not purple… or going AWAY from it and no longer purple when you select check mark.. it’ll miss

They were introduced into the game LONG before Stewie so more likely new players have them.

This looks like it’s gonna be a great event. And it’s very visually appealing. It looks like they put a lot of work into this event, I love it already.
I do have to admit though, I get a little excited over Oz themed stuff because, a couple years back, the major theatre in our capital were holding auditions for the ORIGINAL, real Wizard Of Oz musical production (the movie was adapted almost identically from the musical). I didn’t audition for an acting role, I auditioned for a chair in the orchestra, & I aced it! So I played both the Oboe & English Horn parts but on Soprano Saxophone. It was the best experience of my entire life. We worked hard, & after performing it twice per day for about two weeks, we were worn out, but I’d do it again in a second, it was amazing, & SO much fun to play!
So yeah, even if this event ends up being poorly done, I’ll probably still like it lmfao

Fantastic story that once again confirms my belief that many of the things we like in these type of events have a sentimental pull. I hope you enjoy this visit to Oz as much as your last.

Hello Bunny. You often warn about having too many tasks open. Is the only way to get rid of them, to play them out? I still have tasks from The Hauntening and now Billionaire Peter to finish using characters I need for these new tasks.

From the info, it can seem like The Wicked Witch boss battle is like the dragon battle from the Princess Bride event and a few other earlier boss battles. Let’s hope this boss battle is a little less challenging or at least more balanced. 😉
