Quahog Not So Silent Night 101: Present Plaza

Hey there Merry Gift Givers!

With all the New Items hitting our Event, it can be difficult to know where to start or where to go to gain the Items & Materials we need throughout the Event. That is where the 101’s come in.

In this post, I will be going over the Present Plaza. What it has in store, what items you can gain from it, how to use it.

Let’s take a peek inside.

For the Main Event information, go HERE

WHERE IS THE PRESENT PLAZA

quahog-not-so-silent-night-event-area

You will find this in the Event Area on the upper Top Side. It is the group of Toys with the floating ship hovering above and Giant Teddy Bear.

WHAT IS THE PRESENT PLAZA FOR?

Basically, it is the location you need to go to in order to Open any Presents you gain during the Event. For Phase 1, that is Q*bert’s Pyramid Pack & Q*bert’s Glowing Gift.

WHERE DO I GET Q*BERT’S PYRAMID PACK?

You will essentially get it as a drop from various Character Tasks. Here is the current list.

WHAT DO I GET IF I OPEN Q*BERT’S PYRAMID PACK?

The items you will get will really vary. It is essentially kind of like a blind card pick. You are given 3 Coins that you tap to turn over and reveal the Prize(s) that you won.

Here are the current Prizes available you have a Chance at getting from Q*bert’s Pyramid Pack. You will get a total combination of 3 Prizes.

You will have to purchase this one directly from the Present Plaza. This is a Premium Option and completely up to you to spend you Clams and take a Chance at the Prizes inside.

Q*bert’s Glowing Gift will cost 50 Clam IconClams per try.

HOW DO I OPEN A PRESENT?

Since there are TWO current options, let’s take a look at each one.

qberts-pyramid-packQ*bert’s Pyramid Pack

First you will have to earn the Pyramid Packs from the Character Drops listed above. Once you have earned at least one, go to to the Present Plaza in your Event Area and tap on it to Open the Pop Up Screen.

present-plaza

There you will see how many Packages you currently have, and if you do have some… you will see the option of “OPEN”.  (If you only see “GO” that means you need to earn some Presents first.)

present-plaza-screen-open

Once you tap on “OPEN”, the game will start a lil separate screen process with a burst of light that will drop down into 3 Quahog Not So Silent Night Coin Options. Tap on each Coin to turn them around and see what Prizes you were Awarded.

qberts-pyramid-pack-3-coins

Once you have tapped on all 3 Coins and flipped them over to reveal your Prizes, the option of “GO!” will then appear. Tap on “GO” to collect your Prizes.

Side Note: The “GOOD” prizes (like Q*zard, Clams, Green Balls) actually have a lil more “beams” showing behind the coin prior to turning around then when you tap them. Kind of like showing you that something awesome is behind the coin.

~~~~~~~~~
qberts-glowing-giftQ*bert’s Glowing Gift
The only REAL difference in the two options is that Q*bert’s Glowing Gift is a Premium Option. You will have to determine if the Prizes inside are worth the Clams to you. Then it is just a matter of going into the Present Plaza, tapping on “BUY” under Q*bert’s Glowing Gift.
present-plaza-screen-qberts-glowing-gift
You will then have to confirm that you REALLY want to spend your 50 Clams to purchase the Glowing Gift Option.
qberts-glowing-gift-confirm-buy
Then the process will start just as noted above of the 3 Quahog Not So Silent Coins appearing. You just tap on each one to turn them over and reveal the Prizes.
Once you have them all turned over, the “GO” option will appear so you can tap on it and collect your Prizes.
  1. Mines been stuck on opening a pyramid pack and then crashes I’ve email but no reply yet. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled a few time tried it on a different device and cleared cache any ideas????
  2. So I just started playing a couple days ago, thus I don’t have many characters to help in the event (I only just unlocked Lois recently). Although, I finally have enough candy canes and green balls to either unlock Q-bert or the Scrapyard. So I’d like some advice on who I should unlock first.
    I’m really just unsure what Q-bert’s tasks are and how much currency he can accumulate. Also, since this is my first event, I’d like to know would you be able to keep the characters and buildings you unlock after the event is over, or are they only available for the duration of the event?
    Like
    • Any characters you fully unlock you keep, the same goes for buildings you need to purchase.
      Regarding your strategy, if slippers are dropping well from character tasks you don’t need to buy the Scrapyard.
      And you will find all of Q*Berts tasks in his profile on here.
      Hope this helps.
  3. I’m getting really crappy drops of Qbert’s Pyramid Packs. I keep sending 3 characters to get them, and I’m getting less than 20% drops. Impossible to clear enough Sams for the Toy Stories quest!!
    Why does Santa or Elf Peter not have a quest to earn stuff? I am stuck at 2 of the striped hats for Sleepy Peter and not enough candy canes for the building that drops them. More people in the event need to drop more items. Why don’t all my characters go into TanLines like they were and are in the street walking around??
    • Some characters used in event won’t go into Tan Lines just now but I believe TinyCo are going change that with next update. Hopefully more characters will come in as event progresses.
  5. ARGH! I was so excited to see a reasonably-priced “mystery box”, but…it’s not! Ugh. Another ripoff mystery box. I pony up 50 clams and might only get a few Stocking Stuffers and 5 (or maybe only 2) clams in return? WTD, TinyCo?!
    I wish they’d lower the pricing, but I guess fully Premium/Completionist players spend enough money on them that TinyCo has no interest/reason to change it…
    It feels like my Q*tee sprite drops are slower than my Q*zard ones! lol
  6. Abysmal to have a rare drop rate for the present boxes. But this isn’t the first time (and won’t be the last) that TinyCo does something like this, presumably to annoy people intentionally. 😉
    Apart from that I’m happy with how things go, my collection rates from the boxes that I’m getting are very good.
  7. I know you guys relay info to tinyco regarding drops and such so just offering my experience. Having all available characters on task for packages has gotten me approx 5-6 collections per day. Of those collections I have gotten 3 whole presents. Obviously the rare drops for packages combined with the rare items needed for Peter isn’t happening anytime soon for me. I did buy the tree so I will check in once a day to recoup my clams but I am checking out on the event. Merry Christmas to you folks keep up the great site hopefully the game can get back to the same quality as your site.
    • Thanks for such kind words about the site Dan. Bunny is gathering data to feed back on the drops, so maybe hang in there wee bit longer to see if things improve for you. If not hopefully we will see you at the next event, and you’ll take time to leave some thoughts on what you’d like see going forward on the Oz event poll & post going up later.
  9. Are there problems with the dream point’s as mine do not seem to be going up in level 2. and the night cap that i got from bonnie is not showing in al harringtons
    • Sounds like something else may be going on. When you leave the game, do you ensure you back out all the way and get the “wanna leave?” screen? If not, what may be happening is you are leaving the game too soon and not allowing time enough for your actions to be saved. Dream Points are rough as you do not see numbers going up on them… so visually at times they may appear to not progress though they are.
      My suggestion is to keep an eye on how you play. See if you notice you are redoing actions or leave to return to things prior to way you left them. If so, then you may need to start syncing the game prior to leaving. Doing things like visit Ollie Land real quick to force a sync.
      Like
      • How do you get the “Wanna leave?” screen on an iPhone? I had never seen it, until I test drove an Android device for a while. All I have ever done to exit the game is double-click Home, swipe up… (After visiting Ollie’s, of course. :-))
        Like
        • iOS doesn’t really give option. So at times you may want to wait just a minute or two before leaving app just to allow a sync without the option.
          If you’re going to home screen and swiping… at times that’s just like force closing app and can cause loss of activity if you didn’t allow game to sync before leaving. I leave the app running on my iPod after leaving for a bit to ensure it syncs
          I’m more concerned if Material Drops are being lost and you find yourself having to restart Tasks you did prior to leaving.
  10. It looks like you’re getting a lot of blankies! I’ve opened about seven Pyramid Packs so far (which is quite lucky I guess, last night four dropped at once) but so far not one blankie has turned up.
    Like
    • Funny part is once you get them all, no more needed so many other items will show up. It is so variable. I have got Clams since from the Pyramid Packs. As well as higher count Stocking Stuffers, more Sprites, and more Green Balls.
  11. I got lucky. I got a gold clam in one of my Q*bert pyramid packs.
  12. I know the event has pretty much just started, but is any one else already having problems with the drops? I’ve gotten exactly ONE pyramid box so far! And rare chance for something that’s needed to progress? Really TinyCo??!?
    • They are Rare, so 1 drop in 24hrs seems about right. Just keep going and using all Characters you can possible to get them. I am keeping an eye on them too… but with it less than 24hrs in… I can’t send that much data yet on drops to them.
    • I’m having problems with night caps. Have had Bonnie consistently on that task since Thursday and still no caps. I know it’s rare but I’ve gotten an extra rare tissue box before I’ve gotten a rare night cap. 😠
  13. Every time I clear a Sam I get nothing and it doesn’t count towards the count and my it I used is gone
    Like
    • Let me ask this of you (I also have the tips noted in main post)… BEFORE you launch a Sprite at Sam, are you ensuring that Sam turned Purple and was walking into the Circle to be attacked?
      Second part (also in main post) WHAT Sprite are you attacking Sam with? As each of the 3 have a different “Damage” they do to Sam. Sam starts at 20 Heart Points, so he needs 20 Damage total to take him down.
      Hope that helps 🙂
      Like
      • Is it better to wait to attack Sams when you have both a 12 & 8 Damage sprites available and ready to use at the same time if a 20 Damage sprite isn’t available? I can’t tell which of my Sams I have already hit with my 8 &12 Damage sprites when I get more later on.
        Like
        • You can tell if you tap on them to see their Heart Level. It just takes a bit more to ensure that is the one you hit. So yes, I would say stock up on the Sprites than take them out as best as possible. Try to use the 8 & 12 as 3 of the 8 would be a waste.
