We all love a Chrustnas surprise, not knowing what you’re going to get until you open it. Well, that’s how I look at the Weekly Challenge! You never know what you’re going to get until it drops in your game.
As always these aren’t called a challenge for nothing, sometimes they can be extremely difficult to complete, especially for freemium players. Many see these as extra fun for premium players but that doesn’t mean a freemium player can’t do it, it just depends where you are in the game and sometimes a lucky guess at what items to stockpile whilst you wait for the challenge to drop. The prizes to date have always been decorations, with the odd building as a Grand Prize, so I wouldn’t advocate spending clams on these, but as always the choice is yours.
Anyway this week’s challenge, if you should choose to accept it, seems a mixed bag, in one way it should work in tandem with what a lot of us will be doing right now, clearing PAC-Carollers, but on the other you’re going to have to place the Froggy Freeway, which will require using up your valuable resources including power pellets, which many of you are struggling to get. If you manage to complete it you will be awarded the Pound Poochie decoration.
What do you need to do to complete it, well here’s the deal, you will need to complete the Extra Toy Stories task which consists of:
Peter Starts
Clear 11 PAC-Caroler
Place the Froggy Freeway
You have 48 Hours IN WHICH TO COMPLETE ALL PARTS.

I’m having an ok time with the ghost boxes themselves but the drop on the power pellets is downright unfair. Even before the 3rd weekly challenge I only had one drop and now I’m 6/11 groups down with less than a day and a half left and NONE have dropped so far. I’d say out of 10 – 13 groups I’ve only had one pellet drop. I’m really upset because I’ve put a lot of time into this event so far, did the other 2 challenges and even bought Pac Man. The timer is gonna run on this week’s challenge and there’s no way I’ll get 8 pellets. They need to give the pound puppies as a freebie and mark week 3 completed for everyone so we can have an actual shot at the final prize.

I have had only two blue boxes dropped in 4 days. Is everyone like me or am I a victim of bad luck?

Already had the Freeway placed and had been saving the Ghosts up ready for clearing Carolers. Took about 4 hours for enough to spawn and that’s week 3 done.

I completed the previous two challenges but this one’s looking unlikely as 7 power pellets within the time limit will require a lot of luck. I only have 2 characters that can drop the rare Ghostly Gifts so not really much point playing this phase… might just take a break for Xmas!

No one else having issues with the drop rate of the blue boxes? I started phase 3 on Friday and I have been really good about collecting every 2 hours (except through the night) and so far I have had only THREE boxes drop. It is driving me nuts!!

Got tons of stocking stuffers, green balls and turtle shells. Can’t get the blue boxes or the power pellets to move forward.
Just got Donkey Kong though and over halfway to Pixel Lois.

not so silent night is not so great, this must be one of the worst special events ever between the number of resources needed and the lack of drops I have given up and am counting the days until January 5th!!!!

I was still trying to get it as well. I had reached the part in the questline that required it and had already opened MANY boxes. There was still no sign of it. In the end I decided to just spend 70 clams and have one premium try (to see if I could finally get it). Got it straight away.

I’m worried I’m going to spend the rest of the event just opening blue boxes and not being able to participate in the rest of the event despite having everything else and even using clams for PAC man. All because they made him part of the main questline.

As a freemium player I have regulated myself to knowing I’m going to be 3-4 days behind on each phase. I’m cool with that as I no longer have spare cash to spend on games. How dare real life get in the way! Ha!
So with that being said, before I contact Tech support about the drop rates can i get some feedback on my situation. In three days, one power pellet. Getting about 10-12 blue boxes a day so I’m happy with that drop rate. And since I need pellets for everything my game has come to a grinding halt. Also two days of zero Pixel pills after getting the building.

10-12 boxes a day?! I have been saving mine for the past 2 days, and I have 3 in total! I messaged TinyCo and they just said “everything is normal”. I am sending both Seamus & Bonnie on their task every 2 hours like clockwork… the boxes almost never drop.

Just an update:
I guess somebody heard me say I was getting 10-12 blue boxes a day cause I only got two today on six tries.
I have now gotten four Power Pellets total in four days.
Still zero Power Pills now in three days.

I didn’t bother with the first one, since I didn’t want the grand prize. Got the awful second one without trying.
I think the pound puppies will be unreachable because of my dissmal blue cube drop rates to get power balls and clear carolers.

Totally agree… I’m getting almost no boxes, and can only do 1 attack per day (if I’m lucky). 11 attacks is a joke, and will take me a week or more. I have been saving my supplies since Sunday (it’s Tuesday now) and I have 3 Ghostly Gifts. After opening them all I have 6 x pink ghosts and 3 x 10 orange ones… so that’s like 2-3 attacks. I was really happy with this event until Week 3
