  1. 1) Conceptually, I love having a Brian and Stewie ‘Road movie’ event. I guess there was the British children’s show (Mother Maggie?) event, but it didn’t feel like it was a ‘Road’ event.
    2) The event design would be fine… for a two week event. For a one week? Nope, definitely not. WAY too many rare drops on top of very limited coin earners and a Boss with whom I’ll never reach level 4.
    3) However, I will probably be able to get Stewie’s outfit. Or, more accurately, unless I get REALLY lucky tonight with the eyeliners, I’ll be able to reduce the buy-it-now cost to under 30 clams, which I’m willing to spend on an outfit.
    4) Earning Ganesha is mathematically impossible for me at this point. Actually, it might have been mathematically impossible from Day 1, given that I refuse to spend Clams on buildings or outfits which will be useless a week later.

  2. I accepted that I couldn’t get anything unlocked in this event days ago…
Would have liked to get belly dancer Stewie and the diva elephant god. But it just takes me too long to collect. My internet connection is flakey again after almost a week of stability, anyway, meaning wifi is out more than it’s in since Sunday, and I don’t like playing games on cellular. Thank goodness for iCloud Drive, so I can send and receive attachments to transfer from/to my work computer when cellular is the only option. I start experiencing net withdrawal after a while, though, so had to relent and enable cellular for the phone’s browser. But no YouTube, no server games, and no cartoons. Deep sigh.

I did buy a couple of Bollywood dancers for 10 clams each as my big splurge. Also got the nicer building that drops sticks (eyeliners?) and the elephant for rupees. Wish the elephant did more than just stand there. Come on, TinyCo, let it walk around town or dance or shake its trunk or something!

Would be nice if they let us get a walking tiger from the store for a small amount of clams. I’d like to have one of those permanently.

    • We don’t realise ow much we rely on our internet connection until it starts to play up, I lost mine for a month last year. Was a shock to my system, lol. And you’re right not play this game on cellular unless you have a lot of GBs, as it eats data. Hope you’re Internet and yourself are back for the next event.

  3. I’m still struggling to get this skin also. All I have are the bracelets.

  4. Looks like I won’t be able to get belly dancer Stewie since I have been running continuous tasks to unlock regular Stewie for 2 weeks and have gotten a total of 8 plutonium and my game is basically on hold til then 😦

    • Getting that plutonium was tough.

      • No doubt, I need two more blueprints which means I’ve nearly gotten 30 on the 20 hour tasks with in the time it’s taken to get 1/3 of that with 8 hour tasks. Pretty crazy, but hopefully I will be caught up before whatever the next event is!

Sometimes if you earn a skin it will remain in Al’s until you unlock that character. I can’t be certain if that’s the case this event though.

      • That’s what I was hoping to do, but it straight up says “not available” and I have no way to gather the materials. I’ve accepted that I am out of luck on this one.

        • That’s disappointing, but the Christmas event had same issue with the Onesie Mayor West costume. Hopefully they’ll reverse this trend.

          • Oh, I just figured that was how costumes worked (unless it was treated as a separate character like Scarecrow Peter or Red Riding Stewie). I like the separate character method myself, it allows multiple tasks to be run and new unlocks even if the base character isn’t there. I’m still learning the ins and outs of this game it seems.

            • Players have been able to earn costumes in the past and they just sit in storage until you unlock the character needed, but that’s changed recently. Don’t know if it will continue that way.

              • I haven’t been able to earn any costume without already having the character since I started playing in July. The tasks to earn the items never appear. Think the first time it was an issue for me was Dixie carter in booty haul event. But that at least was the last phase.

                • It should be changed so that costumes should be available to unlock then sit in Al Haringtons until you unlock the character, it has happened like that in the past.

                  • That would be a way better method, looking at how this went. I unlocked Stewie yesterday (Got my last two plutonium back to back!!) and then the drops for veils and the other two things started. I easily would have had the costume if the items had been dropping all along (I bought both buildings early on and got to level 5 on offerings, currently have 650 rupees and nothing to spend them on). Thinking about it now, an easy fix would be if items just dropped all the time even if they weren’t currently needed. Just keep them associated with the same tasks and let players bank them up. I feel like that would streamline some of the long times waiting for that one last item you need.

    • It took me much longer than two weeks to get Stewie, so you’re on schedule. I gave up worrying about it and suddenly there he was! Took ages, though. I’ve blanked out most of the trauma so don’t remember how long.

I just finally unlocked Pawtucket Pat, the brewery owner. That must have taken many months since I needed characters for events more often than not.

      • Hopefully it won’t be too much longer for me, I need one plutonium as the blueprints finished this morning. I’ll be glad to unlock him as about 90% of my current quests require him.

  5. Finally a break!

“Bollywood” . . . really? I’ve been playing this game for over a year now and can say it’s losing my interest. Between the almost impossible challenges and uninteresting story lines, I’ve become content in accepting only what is realistically achievable. Wanna make an item (or 4) a rare drop? Great. Wanna entice players into purchasing clams to get that elusive item? Fine. Just know that some of us have reached a point where we’re finding more satisfying and rewarding apps to occupy our time (TSTO anyone?) rather than making sense out of some of the almost impossible missions that can be reasonably accomplished in a 24 hr day.

So when I say a break, I mean possibly a permanent separation from a formerly fun app directed to some other apps of interest. I wish all of you good luck in your gaming, and hope you enjoy your Bollywood experience.

  6. Yeah!! What SR said!!! I would also like to note though, having been away from the game for a year due to the fact my ipad couldn’t handle it (the “Christmas War Event” debacle was the last i was sort of able to play, i just hated the theme, but that’s another story)…anywho, the prices of the characters and such during an event have gone up QUITE a bit it seems! i started playing this game within a month or two of it being launched and was a Premium Player…probably spending at LEAST $40 or more PER EVENT. When I saw the clam price of Bellydancer Stewie I dang near passed out! Skins and items used to be 250-350 clams…now they are going into the 700-900s and up?!?!?! SERIOUSLY?!?!? i GET they are in the business to make money, i PAID money to play in the past, but now…you want me to pay upwards of $20 just for ONE character skin??? Someone needs to follow how Tapped Out does it and take some notes.

  7. I’m not even going to come close to unlocking him I don’t think.I have 9 of 20 eyeliners and 8 of 15 bangles. And that’s from getting both buildings early and being strict about checking in on the jobs. I hope Tinyco is realizing they haven’t had a decent event since the Oz one. I managed to unlock Ollie in the best of event, and that was only because I got the extra Darts tinyco gave out. These terrible drop rates aren’t making it more likely for me to spend clams, it makes it less likely because it comes across as a giant cash grab and that leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Here’s how I think the events should go. 1 character/skin should basically be a freebie. He should be easy to get. He’s your thank you for playing the event. I shouldn’t have to marathon to get him, I shouldn’t have to spend clams to finish unlocking him. For multipart events he should be the only character required to get to part 2. actually, I don’t think any event characters should be required to go farther in the event. The event itself and the humor in it should be able to be experienced by everyone. That gives me reason to play even if I won’t unlock everyone. I stopped trying into the Christmas event when it became apparent that I was too far behind to ever catch up or to unlock anyone I really wanted, If I could’ve experienced the main story at least I could’ve kept playing. . Let the event go farther and then I can prioritize who I want to unlock .

Anyways, after the easy character there should be mid characters/skins that take about the effort what they consider “easy” now to be. These guys I should be able to unlock by the end of the event if I’m diligent and play often enough. I might have to spend a few clams at the end to finish them, but only if my drops are real bad or I missed some time.

Hard characters/skins should be fewer than mid, but rewards for the hardcore players. These are going to be hard to unlock without spending lots of time or clams. Ganesha, or Jim Kaplan are recent good examples of this type. From day one in the Bollywood event I could look at Ganesha and know I wouldn’t get him with my play style , but for the hard characters that’s ok.

Then after that you can have one or two really hard timed characters or something. like you currently do.

The current clams characters are fine the way they are, the price isn’t bad for them, but they should really help in the event. Yeah Tiger Brian clears tigers, but the issue with this even isn’t the event currency which is the only thing you need to clear the tigers for. Maybe the pay characters have a job to help unlock the other characters with a higher drop rate than the regular characters. If Tiger Brian dropped bangles and eyeliner at an always or even uncommon rate, he’d be worth the money. I dunno. Just my thoughts on the recent events. I’m someone who is willing to spend and buy clams if the value is there, but recent events haven’t shown me the value, they’d seemed greedy and stingy, and I’m not comfortable spending money during them to support the greedy and stingy things going on. Give me a good balanced event and I promise Tinyco will get another clams purchase from me, but not until then.
