Family Guy Quest For Stuff Technical Help: Crashing & Lagging Game

Ever wonder where all your device’s memory has gone or bemoan the fact your game keeps crashing whilst playing FGQFS? If so I understand your pain and I’m here to try to prescribe a potential cure or three.

It’s no secret that FGQFS is a memory hog of a game, and since we are still seeing comments asking about crashing and memory issues I thought it was time to put all our tips on these issues into one updated post.

On both my iPhone and iPad FGQFS is the single biggest app when it comes to gb’s used, on my main device I play on, my iPad, it’s taking up a whopping 4.1gb. Thankfully my devices can cope with it but as we constantly read in the comments many of yours can’t. So read on as I walk you through the minefield of crashing and lagging and tell you how you can reduce the space the game is taking up on your device.

Android Update 1.33.4 – DON’T DO IT!!!

UPDATE BUNNY 11/30 930PM EASTERN: Issue resolved with lock out for Android Users. If you update, no issues should apply now. 

On a side note, the New Christmas Event itself is NOT LIVE. It will still be held off til tomorrow (12/1). So just hang tight and keep an eye out for our post notating it went live. 😉

Those that are asking for help with missing out during Android lock out… please ensure you message in to TinyCo directly from your game with as much details as possible as to where your progress was and any screenshots that may help. They will determine what next steps to take from there. 

 

FYI… Update Version 1.33.4 is live on Android. However there is an issue with it potentially locking you out of your game due to the extension of the current There’s No Place Like Quahog event – so please DON’T update just now.

If you have updated and are locked out, you will need wait for TinyCo to fix this at their side, however if this has caused you to miss out on any There’s No Place Like Quahog items, please message them with the details, obviously using in game support is best, but as that may not currently be available to you, you have the option of either waiting until things are fixed and using this method or contacting them via email, just make sure you include your PlayerId in the email. You can email them at help@tinyco.com

This is the latest information released by TinyCo on the issue:

“We recently released an Android update for the game which resulted in a force-update popup, and this was completely unintentional. A fix is on the way, and we do apologize for the inconvenience.

The update is preparation for our holiday event ‘Quahog’s Not-So-Silent Night’, which we hope will knock your jolly socks off later today!”

We will update you if we get any more information.

There’s No Place Like Quahog 101: Tornadoes

Well things in Quahog never run as expected, and that continues with the arrival of tornadoes in town a week AFTER falling houses started raining down on us.

I’ve always felt that being sucked up by a tornado and dumped in Oz would be wonderful, but knowing my luck I’d be sucked up and dumped in Cleveland instead. No offence Cleveland, you were just the first place that came to mind. But I digress, let’s get back to the matter in hand, tornadoes and what you need to clear them in Phase 3 of There’s No Place Like Quahog.

With so much going on in the first day or two of a new phase I know you all feel like you’re in the eye of a storm as a tornado of information is thrown your way, but we’re here to break it down so you can follow the yellow brick road without worrying about a tornado dropping you at the feet of a wicked witch, even if she is dead.

So let’s take a closer look at the new content released in Phase 3 of There’s No Place Like Quahog and see exactly what it takes to get these tornadoes out of our towns. Continue reading →

TinyCo has gone OVER the Rainbow and dumped a bunch of colorful sparkly stuff into our silly lil Quahogs.

We are now into Phase 3 of the Event, that means that there is now a New Main Questline we will follow to direct us. For Phase 3, that Questline is There’s No Place Like Oz.

Happy Thanksgiving ADDICTS!!!!

Hey there Stuffed Turkeys!!

Today is Thanksgiving Day in the U.S.A. WOOHOO!! Bring on the Turkey, Ham, Roasted Red Potatoes, Homemade Gravy, Pumpkin Pie Cheesecake, Sweet Potatoes with Marshmallows, Green Bean Casserole, Lots of Fresh Baked Rolls… MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmm……

Today is a day where many of us get together with family, extended family, friends, etc to stuff our faces and bellies full until we either pass out into a Turkey Coma or Pop. Whatever comes first. 😉

Due to the Holiday, it may be kinda quiet around here. We will have the site on “auto pilot” while we spend time with our Family and Friends. I will set up the Main Questline to go up so you can keep an eye on that, but overall… this will be the Main Post for today. We will return Friday/Saturday with additional information for the Event.

In the meantime, feel free to share a few thoughts of what you are “Thankful For” if you would like in the Comments below. I will start with a few of my own.

I am Thankful For…

  • My Life. It was a bit touch and go there for a minute this year, so I am very thankful I am still here to harass… errrr… help you all. Just happy that I have more time to give to others still.  😉
  • For Lotty & Russian Tigger. Without these two ladies helping me out, I am not sure how much longer I was going to be able to keep the site going. They are truly a blessing and gift. I adore and appreciate them immensely. Words can’t describe just how thankful I am for them.
  • For all the other Addicts Helpers. It was your constant support that helped me keep going through some of the roughest of times.
  • For all of YOU!! I started this for YOU and continue to keep it going for YOU! I appreciate all the feedback and support you continue to give me as well as continue to give to all your fellow players. Many of you I feel I grew close friends with (Where are you DaPimp & Blackshirt?).
  • For those in my life that have been by my side this year. Through Doctor’s Visits, Medication Pick Up, making me meals, taking me to or picking me up from surgery, helping me get out of bed on those hard days, trying to make me laugh but not pop the stitches, sitting by my hospital bed while I go through treatments/injections… on n on n on.

This information is very useful not only to Myself and the Addicts Helpers to see if there is anything else we need to focus on, but it also is information I do share with TinyCo so they can visually see as well just how the Players are getting along in the Event so far.
