Check out the intro video from TinyCo:

And here are some notes from the Official TinyCo Press Release to make sure you notice in the game:
“A few things we want to make sure you notice:

  1. The game is all about the story, the characters (and the randomness) that fans love about FAMILY GUY. Ex: Monocle man in the opening quest w/ Chris. The game was written by the same writers who do the show, and it’s apparent from the jump.

  2. “A laugh every session!” Quests are designed for short spurts of gaming (and humor) – we see this as a game that people will play on the bus, on the toilet, on their commute, etc. but can also engage with for longer periods of time. You’ll never go longer than a minute without laughing.

  3. FaceSpace – an in-game social network where the characters interact with each other, make sure you check this out and play around. As characters level up they post on FaceSpace and you can see all of the different outfits they can wear.  Unlocks around 30 minutes in.

  4. It’s not pay-to-win. Players can choose to pay if they want access to some exclusive content (outfits and decos). There is never a point in the game where users are forced to spend money.

  5. Even when we have collectibles, they play into the story. For example, when dressed as Mermaid Peter, you access specific Mermaid quest-lines like helping out a fisherman.”

So there you have it Clammers, the game is finally in our App Stores!  So what are you waiting for?  Go download it now!

Updates: We’ve added a post with some tips to get you started (and answer some of your basic questions) here.

We’ve also published the materials list (the stuff you need to collect in order to unlock characters) but it’s still from BETA testing.  So some of the items may change and how you unlock them.  But for now this should be a good starting point for everyone to see how to unlock certain characters.  You can find the “Stuff” page here

What do YOU think of the Family Guy Game so far?  Everything it was hyped up to be?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we LOVE hearing from you!

  2. I have a really weird glitch. I now have 10 friends and the last two friends wouldn’t let me do the full 3 clicks on their towns. In curiosity I did 2 clicks instead of three and exited. When I got back in both towns still showed, correctly, I had one more click left in each. I tried to click and it shut down again. Anyone else?

  3. Well, I downloaded it, played out most of the day, somewhat intrigued… until…. I’m playing my TSTO and it boots me out every couple minutes, tried to go visit my neighbors and could get through 1 town before TSTO booted me out. Uninstalled Family Guy, quit having the problem with TSTO. Will re-install and try again later on, once they get all the bugs worked out.

    • Could be memory overload. The TSTO files take up a LOT of space. Like with any computer device…the more you add…the tighter the space…the slower the device.

  5. I’m really disappointed that they shoved a money grab into the task book like they did, was enjoying the game up until then 😦 hope it’s limited time. Other than that, I’m finding it intriguing, just a bit sick of the “everything must be attached to facebook” culture that’s so prevalent nowadays.

  6. I have already used my normal Facebook account and name, but now I’m thinking to create one just for the game alone. Is there anyway I can change to a new Facebook account now or do I have to start all over???? Please help

    • It gives you the option that says “Not My Account”, you essentially sign out of one and into another. I haven’t made the swap myself, so unsure on loss of progress.

      • If you are wary of it. You can always contact TinyCo for clarification too. In your Menu in the game (lower left area/ looks like a blue cracker with 9 holes in it) there is a Contact Section. You just keep selecting the option to Contact Support and you can send them a message from your game.

  8. I’m disappointed that my phone isn’t supported. I’ve been waiting forever for the game, but I guess now I’m going to have to keep waiting until I get a new phone. Samsung SCH-I200 isn’t that old!

  9. I’m just past level 4 (been playing rather moderately) but I find my OCD is loosing me $$ lol. I’m sending newer characters on task only so they catch up to where my other characters are. It is interesting that is for sure, but I feel a little like I’m playing Jurassic park builder at times. The time limit on clearing blocks and the “quests” to put down certain decorations. As long as it doesn’t have me wasting $$ on decor I don’t want I won’t complain 🙂

  10. I dunno if this is the right place to ask but, is this a FB friends only thing? I don’t think any of my FB friends play online or ap games besides candycrush.

    • Currently, the only way to add friends is via facebook, however it is not your friends already on facebook – you can add more but I’m not sure if it shows up on your main profile (I don’t think it does)

  11. Liking it..agree the object move is clunky(a bit wonky like clash of clans!) but I like the humor..can’t wait to see the rest of the missions! And I have to admit i wasted my clams on stewie flowers thinking I would unlock stewie!

  12. Ok had to post this before going back to work, if you are in facespace and you click the share link on one of the characters posts it will let you email that post to actual addresses.

  13. Ok so initial impression is good I like it. Not sure yet if I want to spend real money on it. But I will say that the facespace stuff is hilarious.

  14. This is Asian reporter Tricia Takanawa here to interview some people on their thoughts about the family guy game. You sir how do you feel about paying $20 for premium characters?
    Stewie: What the deuce?!
Tricia: Sir how do you feel about having to use Facebook for friends?
    Bart Simpson: Tinyco Get bent!!!
Tricia: Stewie I see you rated family guy 1 star.
    Stewie: Victory is mine!!!
    Nelson Muntz: How has!
Tricia: Well there you have it. Back to you Tom and Diane.

  18. Decided to try it! Cons: Only FB for friends, would like to zoom in closer to see better character detail, dialog fonts too small. Pros: the humor, main character being shared by other characters, the menus (ino) could use a lil tweaking. Overall, not bad! I still love my TSTO more but i will give this FG some of my time if and when i have time. So much to do So little time LOL 🙂

    • lol thanks for the feedback! I think TinyCo planned on making this a game you could tap quickly and forget about, so it’s really short quests (3-5 parts max) but there are a lot of them!

  19. enjoying it so far, been a tapped out player since june last year and about maxed out on that, i like that the graphics seem to have more omph then tsto, however, i am working in china and the facebook for friends thing is a little difficult since hola has not been working for that since the start of march

    Like

    • Yah…that is the main down side I am seeing to it all. I do not like linking to my personal Facebook page. That is why we suggest creating a “dummy” page for it instead. Then we will try and get a “Add Friends” system set up here to help load you up on friends to play the game too.

      • same issue i have my facebook is only populated by people i’ve met or am related to, then there is the fact of my only way to connect to facebook in china is through unreliable vpn’s that disconnect randomly unless hola manages to fix their android app.

  21. Love it every character is the main character not like tsto with homer involved with everything and a lot of characters not involved everyone has all these side tasks and quests it’s awesome equality

  22. It’s different than Simpsons, which is good, but a little complicated…so many things you have to do and balance, like unlock the characters with random tasks, and if someone is in a task, then you wait…I do think it’s cool but overwhelming as there is so much at once, content-wise! They unlock what seems like everything all at once.

  23. Not too bad so far. I will say that the text boxes are incredibly small for dialogue. I strained my eyes reading the screen. I don’t have that problem at all in tsto. I feel like if they’re going to take up the whole screen to show the character(s) having a conversation, it wouldn’t hurt to make the text larger as well.

I like some of the differences from tsto; such as unlocking characters with quests, and uncovering a district and knowing which characters you will get.

So far so good, and I’m sure there will be more polishing as time goes on.

  24. Did anyone else notice the note at the apple app store?

EXCLUSIVE CONTENT ONLY ON THE APP STORE: Play the “fool’s gold” quest like to help Peter realize his dream of becoming filthy rich! ONLY available for players on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices!

    • So I had to wait ALL day to check this out (i didn’t have my iPad at work). It looks like Golden Suit Peter is on the iOS devices and I don’t see it in Android. Not sure how it will translate if you play across both devices and log in on the other.
Perhaps it’s a gift from TinyCo because iOS didn’t have BETA?

  27. Facebook as only option to befriend and a huge amount of pressure to spend rl money from get go is a big disapointment

    Like

    • I thought this would be more the reaction from people after seeing how the BETA was. I was hoping they’d make changes to it for the full launch, but we’ll have to see. You should be able to play with out spending money so let’s see how it all plays out.
I’m disappointed about Facebook myself. I don’t like that as the only option to add friends, and hopefully TinyCo will change it moving forward.

    • Agreed, having spending actual money for coins and “free” clams sitting on the taskbook is a pretty pathetic move. I wonder if this will eventually go away or stick around forever.

  31. I must admit that I don’t really watch Family Guy, I’ve seen the odd episode but never really been a fan but I am loving the game so far. Maybe because it is so much like TSTO. The only complaint I have so far is the edit mode but it’s not that bad. Really looking forward to see what is to come 🙂

  33. Oh boy oh boy oh boy!!!, just downloaded and ready to start the adventure.😊. I’ll update later with my thoughts………

    Like

    • Well…been playing for a few hours..here are a few thoughts. 1) I like the humor (definitely not for kids), 2) moving objects “feels” a little clunky, 3) don’t like the “push” to spend real money for clams (task item!?!), 4) now joining FB is a task!?! (is Facebook getting a cut from the game?), 5) Needs a “are you sure you want to spend clams?” option (like TSTO spend donut option), 6) Can only build/clear one item/area at a time unless you hire more workers for 50 clams.
Final thought, It took me 3 tries to get the Ale to unlock Jerome (and this is a “common” item, can only imagine what it takes to get a “epic” item). Will give it more time, but I’m on the fence right now.

      • All good points, and things I thought myself when playing. Hopefully we’ll get you guys some good tips and tricks to playing to make it run a little smoother, but it’s definitely NOT like TSTO in the play of the game.

      • Oh the clam spend button is automatic (at least to speed things up, have to double check on the purchases). Will have a post up about that too

        • Alissa,
You’re right about the “clam spend” warning (guess I’m too a custom to how it’s worded in TSTO. lol)…..must admit…the game is starting to grow on me (I hear there is an ointment for that) 😜. Thanks for the quick (and always accurate) reply 😊
