Hello There Clammers!
An App Store Update has hit our games (and yes Android AND iOS…finally have the update system down!) so be sure to hit up your App Store to download the latest version of The Quest for Stuff.
With this update some new stuff has hit our games. Working through all the details at the moment (so more soon) but basically a few new buildings and MORE LAND!!!
And now for the details….WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD
So here’s the deal with this update….District 8 is now in the game BUT it’s not unlocked yet.
Nothing you can do/say/think/breath/pray/wish/sell/deal with devil will make it unlock right now. Consider it a sneak peak of what’s to come…
Do you see Stewie? Yes, he’s coming and SOON (finally) but not just yet. Patience is needed in this one guys. I have a feeling we may see him Friday when 4th of July leaves our games…FYI District 9 (Mayor West and Tom will be in there) is also in the game…and also locked. Which may mean it will be coming sooner rather than later!
So now onto what is new and can be purchased/unlocked in the game. First up, MORE LAND! TinyCo has added two new strips of land to our games! One strip to the top by the forest:
Priced and build time from water back as the following: $50,000/1 day; $45,000/1 day; $40,000/1day; $35,000/1 day; $30,000/1day; $25,000/1 day.
And another strip in the back by the locked districts:
Price and build time from left to right is the following: $10,000/12hrs; $10,000/12hrs; $10,000/12hrs; $10,000/12hrs.
Two new premium buildings:
Glam Bam Thank You Ma’am- 150 Clams. Instant Build. 5×4 in size. Drops Makeup. $40, 25xp/6hrs
Hi-Yah Dojo– 150 Clams. Instant Build. 6×6 in size. Drops headbands & earns $40, 25xp/6hrs

FINALLY MORE LAND!!!! i got sooooo much stuff in my storage they need to update a sell feature!!! just finished all the land and brought the 2 buildings!! roll on stewie!! ALSO GUYS! I HAD OVER 2Mill BUTTS AND UNLOCKED KING BUTT BUT I CANT FIND HIM ANYWHERE AS SAID HE WAS A PLAYABLE CHARACTER??

Did you claim him after unlocking him? If so, you would have been prompted at that time to place the peter statue. Check to see if the statue and/or his throne is in your inventory. He is linked to the statue.

Also has anyone noticed the new collection at the bottom of facespace? It has adventure peter, gold peter, goth chris, cop joe and 70s Cleveland, but it doesn’t have a clan reward next to it…what up with that?

They are not currently collectable, clam rewarding, sets. They just moved them to FaceSpace were all the other outfits are located. That’s why they, and King Butt, are in their own areas.

That is completely up to TinyCo what they decide to do with them. I think for now they are more “place holders” until they decide where they are going to group them.

New Land is fine I just wish you could tell how much is coming for the whole life of the game and where (you could in TSTO). I’m not going to start designing until I can put things where I would like them. Also they need to open up the water. Only a small strip to put boats and an island in!

I’m so happy to see that the update stops the game from crashing when exiting it. Also happy that I saved up in the past weeks and now have over 400k$ to unlock the new land… 🙂

As a long time player I really enjoy the slow tempo in the game right now. The most exciting thing to do in my Quahog is make Peter do the shipoopi and send my four workers to work again. Perfect combination for a family guy on vacation. 😉

Anyone else find the sizing of buildings to be odd…like if you look at the high school versus the library… Or now the amusement park… Just seems the ratio is off

I haven’t even got the money yet to build the water park and unlock meg. Let alone for the other land, plus another disctrict. Let alone the new districts that are coming. I do feel like I’m falling behind. I am a late starter to the game and I don’t see how those can catch up.

Just focus first on ONLY the time based parts of the game (like the water park). The rest will be waiting for you, no rush, no need to hurry. As you build more buildings…more money will come in. You’re not falling behind, just enjoy the process. 😉

After the update today I have issues I can’t read a lot of things. I can’t tell how many items of that task I have to do in Harringtons. It says game ratio at the bottom where u go to settings???? Please help!!!

Do you have any idea about how to unlock Cleveland now, after the event? I started a new b-game today and Cleveland is still on facespace, and listed with grab a beer to unlock Jerome. Any ideas on weather new players will be able to get him?

Cleveland isn’t in the game at the moment, if you didn’t unlock him via Full Moon event. They do have plans to release him in the future, but for now he’s not in the game. 🙂

Thanks a lot for the clarification. I did unlock him on my main game, as well as 80’s pop Cleveland. One last question, how did the requirements change after the event for those who bought the museum? I grinded him out in my main game, but I’m just curious. Thanks again. 🙂

Well that is a little bit confusing, I was under the impression he was going to stay and just be harder to unlock. Looks like they will bring quite a few things back.

Yes!! New goals, new districts, extra land….and did anyone else notice the large swath of forest now viewable in the top right!? Future district or event land possibly!?

I think that’s mainly visible because of the shape of the lay of the land. Not necessarily an indication of plans to develop that area.

I would keep Peter and Hartman on task like everyone else, but would change it up and put them on a 1 hour task every 4th or 5th try (just to break things up). They started dropping after that. No guarantees, but might be fun to try. 😉

I’m every so happy with this update expensive land means it will actually take some time to unlock it all , kinda bumed I spent all my cash on mystery box lol, very excited to see Stewie , can’t wait my town was packed , on a side note just got level 40!! Woot

With this update, King Butt as well as the other outfits that didn’t have a collection have been added to the FaceSpace so we can view. Any chance they get added to new collections?

Can I just say I think it’s awesome sauce that TinyCo is not just listening to us players, but also providing? I do have all the costumes unlocked, but see many people on here begging for headbands. Of course, we all needed more land! Now we’ve got space, buildings that drop the impossible items & Stewie in sight…. amazing.
Now I just wish I could afford both buildings… but that’s the broke completionist in me talking. 😉

My town was starting to get to way full, I finally just started clearing the land for the extra space now. Plus I been wanting to re-arrange the buildings for a while. I see the new districts on my iOS device now, hopefully they can also introduce to sell stuff out of the invorty like having 5 skate parks.

As with pretty much any game out there on any game system…prices increase with each new level. I know of another game that was the same. 😉

I’m also no longer gaining any XP for any of my completed tasks. The bar has been empty for a whole week. I just figured that it stops giving it to you once you’re on level 40 (which I am) Is it another glitch?

Sounds pretty standard to me. Once you max out, there is nothing else to gain and add to. I will verify with TinyCo. 😉

Just got confirmation back from TinyCo. I was correct…once you max out at level 40, you have nothing to earn towards so the XP will stop until a new level is released (which they do not have a date set for just yet). Hope that helps clarify it for you. 😉

Can’t they just remove the bouncing XP icon from buildings once you get to your max XP point? Or at least add a number so the XP would grow. Right now it’s just pointless XP icons dropping out of everything and going nowhere at all.

It is more a coding thing. Give them time. They are still working out all the kinks of the game. 😉

Hi. I’m still on lvl 39 and don’t seem to be getting any XP. Get the bouncing TV’s with no numbers, XP bar flashes but doesn’t seem to move. Is it just that I need loads of XP to see any change, or is it broken?

You are now one level from the max (currently 40). It takes a lot more total XP to reach that number. If you are completing short tasks (1 hour or so), they add a very small amount and you won’t see the graph bar move (the XP is being added, however). Just keep doing what you’re doing and you will be the newest member of “Club 40” in no time. 😉

Wow over 200 k coins to unlock that small strip!! Soo glad I built 85 common office buildings and have been faithfully mining them the past month! Still that’s half my coins! Oh well come on Stewie!

District 9 must be only available for Apple products. I only see district 8 after updating 😦

It’s on my Android. Check the open space next to District 8. Where there are no buildings etc.

I’m thinking the strip of uncleared land separating my Quahog from the new locked districts may be what unlocks district 8. You would have to clear the land there in order to get into the new districts anyway. Do you know if there’s some truth to that? It would make sense…

Absolutely NO truth whatsoever to it. I’ve purchased (and rushed) ALL open land that just came with it and it’s still not unlocked. TinyCo also confirmed it’s just a sneak peak, it’s not yet in the game.

You will probably have to clear this land eventually to open the district, but it won’t help you rush to it now. Just like with Asiantown, I think.

I’m seeing a bug. I’m no longer getting experience for character tasks, ie Brian peeping on Louis, nets me my coins, but not the XP. Is this happening to anyone else?

Are you sure the bar isn’t moving? Sometimes the XP won’t pop out but you’ll see gain XP points for characters.

I’ve been at level 40 for a week or so..I think for now that is the max you can go..haven’t gained any xp for a while now..but still get the coins..hmm maybe a way to slow us down..

I did get confirmation back from TinyCo. Once you max at the highest level, there is nothing left for the XP to go towards so you will not earn anymore until another level releases (as to which there is not a date set for yet). Hope that helps. 😉

I’m not sure. The XP for character tasks is so small, there’s no way for me to know. However, up until today I always had the clickable XP pop up. My wife is having the same issue on her device.

Plus, I still receive the clickable XP when clicking my buildings. That’s what’s making me think I’m not receiving my XP.

Have you tried contacting TinyCo via your in game menu, help & settings? They can look in your game and verify if there is an issue. In the meantime I messaged them to get some verification.

My issue seems to be a change in the way XP is collected. The XP box briefly lights up, when you click on the check mark of a completed task. It’s so brief, if you aren’t looking at the box, you’ll miss it. Thank you for attempting to help me. Much appreciated.

Not a problem. I really think it is some kind of glitch in your game that only TinyCo would be able to look into. They are great at helping out.
I did verify with them that it should NOT be happening. Only when you max out at level 40 does the XP stop.

A lot of my characters don’t seem to be dropping xp either, not at 40. Nothing drops, but may just be a automatic thing. Is the xp bar moving, who knows honestly.. Unlike tsto, which we can see a actual number on the Xp bar.. This is more of maybe it’s moving the way it should.

The left side was always more expensive than the areas you must clear to progress in the game. It’s not ridiculous, it’s just a “bonus land” for when you have too much money and nowhere to put your stuff. Trust me, you get to this point faster than you think.
Start farming offices and you’ll see how quickly you get to a point where 50K is small money. I burned over 400k on mystery boxes during the event, and still left with 400k coins to clear land.
Don’t rush with clearing the left side, it’s not required for any task. When you start farming offices you’ll see that clearing more land (for more offices) pays for itself after a only a few days.

Strange, i checked my town (got slightly excited) checked in with you guys then finally updated my play store app.. if they can update the game from within, why so many updates?

Some, like this one, have more data than an in game update can handle. They need to overwrite large areas of the program files.
