Hello There Clammers!
An App Store Update has hit our games (and yes Android AND iOS…finally have the update system down!) so be sure to hit up your App Store to download the latest version of The Quest for Stuff.
With this update some new stuff has hit our games. Working through all the details at the moment (so more soon) but basically a few new buildings and MORE LAND!!!
And now for the details….WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD
So here’s the deal with this update….District 8 is now in the game BUT it’s not unlocked yet.
Nothing you can do/say/think/breath/pray/wish/sell/deal with devil will make it unlock right now. Consider it a sneak peak of what’s to come…
Do you see Stewie? Yes, he’s coming and SOON (finally) but not just yet. Patience is needed in this one guys. I have a feeling we may see him Friday when 4th of July leaves our games…FYI District 9 (Mayor West and Tom will be in there) is also in the game…and also locked. Which may mean it will be coming sooner rather than later!
So now onto what is new and can be purchased/unlocked in the game. First up, MORE LAND! TinyCo has added two new strips of land to our games! One strip to the top by the forest:
Priced and build time from water back as the following: $50,000/1 day; $45,000/1 day; $40,000/1day; $35,000/1 day; $30,000/1day; $25,000/1 day.
And another strip in the back by the locked districts:
Price and build time from left to right is the following: $10,000/12hrs; $10,000/12hrs; $10,000/12hrs; $10,000/12hrs.
Two new premium buildings:
Glam Bam Thank You Ma’am- 150 Clams. Instant Build. 5×4 in size. Drops Makeup. $40, 25xp/6hrs
Hi-Yah Dojo– 150 Clams. Instant Build. 6×6 in size. Drops headbands & earns $40, 25xp/6hrs

Thanks to my water park refund I was able to purchase the Hi-Yah Dojo, I’m now waiting till District 8 to open to figure out how many more clams to buy before purchasing the Glam Bam Thank You Ma’am. All my land is now unlocked, trying to re-organize at the moment. I’m ready!!! C’mon Stewie!

I was a millionaire before the event, but turning it into clams is too good to pass up. Down to $500,000 and got 40 clams so far. Will probably keep $100, for the future.

Spent 120k on the 4th of July boxes and got no clams or coins. Completely finished both the events and working on unlocking the new land. Keen for the stewie update!

i personally use itunes cards on my itunes account to buy my clams, never have used a credit card. for years people have been giving me itunes cards for different stuff & holidays & they sat in a drawer building up & unused for a number of years. i don’t wanna sound like i’m bragging but i have a little over 1000 bucks on my itunes account at the moment & close to 4000 bucks worth of itunes cards waiting to be loaded/put on my account whenever i need too. so yep that’s how i get my clams & where the money to pay for them comes from.

Ok this is a silly question, but I see posts w/ people saying they have 100’s of clams. I had a high of 120 or so during King Butt and used about 80 to speed stuff up to try to unlock him (I wasn’t able to), but even then it is slow going. I only have a few friends but even when I visit them I only get a clam from Ollie, if at all. Any thoughts? I have not bought any, nor will I….

You get a clam a day (up to 5 per week) visiting friends, and some here and there during events, plus clams for completing character sets. I personally don’t have a problem spending a few bucks (buying clams) on a “free” game , if I like the game. I know how much expense goes into making a good game like this one. But, it’s a decision each player must make themselves.

People who brag about having 100s/1000s of clams have either spent money on them or taken advantage of bugs/exploits in the game.

I think I used up all my luck during this event. I got 2 Colossal, 2 Sunburst, a few pixies, a few pockets, just one white flower, a few coin prizes, and 20 clams. Maybe 25-30K coins spent.. Just what I needed and a little extra for very little coins overall. I might spend another 10K before the event ends…from the looks of all the fails here, maybe I’ll hit the 1% again to all your 99% misses lol

so does anyone know or have any idea if these 2 new premium buildings, hi yah’s dojo & glam bam thank you ma’am have been released for stewie & carter coming into the game because they drop items that’ll most likely be needed to unlock them? or is it more likely to help people who still have a few character costumes they need to get that require headbands & eye shadow? i ask because i have all costumes for all characters currently, so i don’t want to waste clams (i have plenty btw, just over 10,000 currenty, & no my game is not hacked! i’m not a damn thief!) on them if that’s what they were introduced for, however, i will buy them if they were introduced to help you unlock stewie or carter quicker.

They definitely help newer players, and they do look cool and add more buildings to your town. But, as far as the items that will be needed to unlock future characters…..that’s anyone’s guess.

There was also a “buy me now” for item drops. Seems like headbands and make up are in our future, and before the update is even out they are trying to cash in (150 clams for each stall) on our NEED for Stewie lol

Well, after spending $460,000 in coins on the mystery boxes (that amount is actually higher, I have 230 fireworks and white flowers, but I also got a lot of coins from the boxes), I finally drew the 20 clam prize!! Yay me!!

When I just checked my game there was a pop up with Stewie. No words or anyimation, just blank. Did anyone else get this? Or was it a glitch in my game that it didn’t say anything.

TinyCo is getting the new district ready for the big unveil, as a result…some “coding” will sneak into the game. It’s happened before, right before a new update. This is very cool indeed! Great job capturing it and sending it in. I’m EXCITED…..are the rest of YOU!?! 😉

I wish they would fix these glitches. More than once I’ve logged into the game with nothing going on. Send everyone on missions. Game crashes, get silly notice on screen about something new, then have to wait to do anything the message talked about. I personally prefer they fix bugs before pumping out new content.

With the game loaded on three platforms (iOS, Android and now Kindle) and each having so many different devices and versions, with each updating THEIR operating systems every few weeks…..It’s a full time job just to address protocol syncing and other programming challenges. TinyCo is adjusting on the fly, but it can take time. That’s why we always encourage our awesome readers to reach out to them with any problem. This way they can quickly identify trends and fix them as they crop up. 😉

when unlocking other characters- normally you buy a building or some decoration they want.. I think to unlock stewie they’re going to make us buy his Dictator Stewie Statue for 150,000coins. what’s your opinions on this??

So i’ve saved up and have 320 clams now. Is it worth it to get Consuela, or would they be put to better use on Jake and the Horse?

Consuela is my favorite personally. But it’s really your call. They add no benefit to the game, just enjoyment. So it just depends on if you want 2 new characters/buildings or 1.

I’m still new to the game. Can I get more advice and tips on unlocking districts? I’m in the district with dr Hartman and Brian. Have the doctor and one item left for Brian. Asian town looks to be next with bobs fund land after.

I am having trouble with XPs. Some characters do not produce them. The others that do, including buildings, do not add up in the level indicator. I am on level 40 and not one single XP has registered. Either the level will take a million to complete, which could be why they are taking so long to add up. Or, something is wrong. My guess would be the latter. Still, I trudge along in Quahog, hoping to find the yellow brick road.

You are currently at the maximum game level….no more XP gets added (character XP only goes to raise the characters level….15 is max for all except Peter, which is 25). Welcome to Club 40! 😉

I am unable to download the new update. Is this a common issue? It hasn’t affected my game any, but I’m beginning to worry that it might.

It gives me an error message that says application cannot be installed in default location. I have rebooted my phone multiple times. Again no in game issues yet but I’d still like to have the update.

I uninstalled some apps on my phone and tried again. The update worked this time. I might have just not had free space. Hope this helps anyone else who may have this same issue.

So i was wondering…it has always taken me three to four tries to open my game without crashing…now i have to shut down and restart my tablet at least twice and with about eight or nine crashes before getting in…anyone have similar issues and what should i do?

I’m having zero problems with my iPad. With new updates, come new device brand conflicts. Sadly, it sounds like your device’s operating system and the game are not playing nice and in a major “fight”. First thing to do is delete the game completely from your device, clear out the data cache if needed and then reload the game (make sure it’s linked to an email account or Facebook/Google account, this saves your game). This will make sure the problem didn’t happen during a loading error (plus TinyCo will most likely ask you if you did this). If you continue to have the exact same problem, contact TinyCo, use this post for information on what to tell them:

i have the same problem. the game will keep crashing .Its memory problems for me. IPod 8 gig 4th gn , I uninstalled over and over. if is that. then try closing out apps and reboot

I am also on Ipod 4th gn and have the same problem with lots of available space. I’ve deleted and reinstalled and have the same issue. Almost at the point of giving up as it sometimes takes 30+ attempts to load the game. Sent TinyCo a message with the details last night but haven’t had a response yet. Ruined the July 4th event for me because I can’t get into my game to collect items and send characters on new tasks.

I gotta say, I can’t complain about how the game has progressed recently as a freemium player. I just “bought” 60 clams from the mystery box and still have coinage for land. I’m enjoying having some longer term tasks to focus on while giving Peter a chance to get some shipoopi time in. I’m really glad they gave us something to do with our surpluses of coins though. That was nice of them.

Ok so I have opened up all the land next to districts 8-9 I want to open the new strips across town but im hesitant besause idk how much it will be to clean up the new districts.After all my sprucing im down to 100,000+ but seeing as how those pieces of land are kinda pricey I was hoping that tinyco may have let u guys in on the dollar amount of the new unlocks. I still have like 5 buildings that are sittin in my inventory not making me a dime cuz I ran out of room….

Since you’re low on dinaros, I’d hold off on unlocking the top left band of land for now (it’s not going anywhere). The new district prices will most likely run between 10,000 to 20,000 based on previous districts and game “inflation”. Remove some roads…move some stuff around and get those money makers back into the game. You can redesign after district 8 unlocks. Those are my “official” game tips…LOL 😉

I had over $800,000 and don’t remember getting a reward after hitting $500,000. I spent all but 80,0000 on that dumb surprise box thing and only hit the 20 clam prize once….still I think it was worth it. Definitely less than 1%, do the math and don’t forget about all the $3&5,000 prizes u pick up along the way

Does anyone over here at Addicts know why the HELL the uncleared land by the water (left side) is SO much more expensive to clear than the land by the districts? Has TinyCo given you guys any hint as to why that is? Soon, VICTORY SHALL BE MINE!!

That area has always been more expensive than land cleared in a new district. All games that follow this level up/expand format do it. As players gain more land, build more buildings and add more characters….they start earning a lot more cash. Consider it “gaming” inflation.

Personally, I’m glad its not released yet. I have 450k coins and I want the achievement you get when you have 500k. Not a big deal but I can do that by the end of the week. 😀

If you’re already at level 40 I’d suggest waiting until they raise the level cap to get your last few achievements as they earn you a significant amount of xp. Not like leveling does anything though. I’m just weird and like to speed things up 🙂

Most of them are probably wrong, but here are my guesses on the items that are going to be needed to unlock Stewie after looking at the awesome Materials list here on Familyguyaddicts.com:
Baby Powder (Common) For his poopy diapers.
PB&J Sandwich (UnCommon) The kid is hungry after being missing for so long, get him a snack!
Eyeshadow (Extra Rare) I think he dressed up as a female enough times to explain that.
Headband (Extra Rare) Lois has to kick butt to save her baby.
Temporal Distortion (Epic) Because he is always traveling through different dimensions.

Besides sending all characters on the shortest tasks repeatedly, “farming” produces the biggest bang for your gameing buck.

True, personally I don’t farm per se, I do buy office buildings (of different sizes), but line them up along sections of street to look like a normal business area. Something you would see in any city or town.

Indeed. I’m just saving up for oceanland so I get a new district and have some more space to plomp down offices. As neatly as possible. I have been building a lot of common offices today because they are cost efficient. And generating money only takes an hour. Ugly old things though.

Send a in game message to TinyCo and let them know you bought it before you realized it was offered for free. They might refund your 120 clams. They have for others.

I thought we might have a break after the month long event but was happy to see the update and extra land. Land was the one thing I needed after the event and I would have gladly traded King Butt for the Land we have now. Also it’s good that I have a spare 500,000 coins due to not having anything to spend them on, result!

Hello, with the upgrade, I am no longer able to get into the game. It keeps crashing every time I attempt to start it up. I am using a blackberry Z30 so it would be the Android version of the game. Any ideas what to do? I’ve rebooted the device, removed and reinstalled the game and still no luck. I want to keep doing tasks to pay for the new land but can’t. And no response from TinyCo yet but I just emailed them last night.

😦 Sad to hear you are locked out. With a new update and SO many different devices used, it’s normal for update glitches to hit. It sounds like you have done all the correct troubleshooting measures. Just stay on top of TinyCo with follow up emails if you don’t hear back from them today or tomorrow. Make sure you give them all the information you can.

Any guesses on how much the land will cost? I spent a lot buying fireworks and then the land and now I am trying to save up to have the money ready to go when the new expansion hits.

Beyond what’s out already, no. But the land on the expansion side shouldn’t be too bad. I’m thinking between 10-15 k each. Hope that helps! 🙂

One more thing…I don’t know why I’m so annoyed with the characters and level being maxed out. They don’t give us anything for leveling up anyway so I really need to get over that. I didn’t even get a new Gato from Consuela last time! I haz a sad. 😦

😦 I know they’re looking at increasing the levels soon. Keep in mind it’s still a new game, so some bugs/design issues to work out. It’s only 3 months old…still a baby 😉

Hmmmm…I wish I knew how much I was going to need for the new Districts so I could save that much and not buy too much land…I don’t want to be waiting around :(.
Also, ONLY new Clam buildings? Really? I think I would actually buy MORE of those if it didn’t look like they were constantly just trying to get money from me.

I kinda want them to add three character jobs, so Stewart could send Cleveland and Quagmire to the basement to watch the TV setup channel.
Also, think a star wars event might come into the game? All the characters skins are changed to their star wars versions? That’d be pretty cool.

Ive noticed that if I am looking for a drop item and I rotate which characters will drop them (only having one at a time try for them) I get a drop every time. When I have all characters trying for the same item its hit or miss. Worked for me

The change to Facespace was very welcomed. It was annoying to not have King Butt there and the only way to view his profile was to wait for him to finish a mission. Not Quahog shattering addition but it is one that is appreciated.
