Hello There Clammers!
With the introduction of Family Guy: The Quest For Stuff there’s a whole cast of characters to unlock in your rebuild effort of Quahog! These overview posts are designed to give you a quick breakdown of the characters, how you unlock them & their tasks so you can play FGG more efficiently!
Of course there will be those players who don’t want to know the details of unlocking the characters so for that reason we’ll post all of the details below the fold. So if you don’t like to know what’s going on before you play don’t click read more…CAUTION SPOILERS AHEAD
Now that District 8 is FINALLY unlocked it’s time to take a look at the characters of the Entertainment District. Did you know there was another character in this district besides Stewie? That’s right Carter Pewterschmidt is along for the ride in the Entertainment District, hopefully you didn’t forget about him! Carter is the second character you’ll unlock in the Entertainment District. It’ll take a bit of hard work collecting all the STUFF you’ll need to unlock him, but not as much as is required for Stewie! So now let’s take a look at Carter and his tasks….
Character: Carter
Unlocked: 18th Character in the game (freemium & 19th if you include King Butt)
Building: Quahog Malt Shoppe
Voiced?: Yes
Required to Unlock: Build the Malt Shoppe, 15 Sugar Packets, 15 Fuzzy Slippers, 15 Jewels, $25,000.

For those that like visuals…here’s a look at some of Carter’s Outdoor tasks….
Again these are just some not all of his outdoor tasks. Just wanted to give you all a sneak peak of what it’ll be like once you unlock him! Personally, I think he’s got a few great outdoor tasks (really loving the money angels one!)
So there you have it, the break down of Carter and his tasks in FGTQFS! What do YOU think of Carter’s tasks? Any you can’t wait to see? Was he worth the wait? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!
But Bunny, my question is.. HAs anyone tried not to pay his cheap a** yet?

Lol. And I am telling you all that will happen is you will NOT get him as a Character in the game. 😉

Ok, I haven’t read every single post about him yet but my question is…. Do I HAVE TO pay carter the $25000 because I’m saving it for last just to find out?
LikeLike
Yes… It is part of his requirements. Only way to unlock him. He is in a District, so you can take your time to do it as Districts are permanent. Up to you. 😉

Funny character conversation:
Carter: “Oh what happened?”
Mr. Herbert: “None of your business”
So funny!

I have just started building the malt shoppe. Would it be better if I NOT click on the logo when it’s finished? That way Carter won’t appear and my character’ tasks will get me stuff for the comic con event rather than possibly some item to unlock carter (eg: bonny twerking it and getting pizza instead of jewels). Matter of getting as many items as possible for the comic con event (it’s going slowly as it is. Those darn pizza slices!). Thoughts?

I’d hold off….Carter can wait. And he doesn’t help out at all so far in the event.

It’s been about 3 days since I unlocked Carter but his quest line has not begun. Is there anything I should do? I’ve put him on various tasks but nothing seems to be triggering.
LikeLike
It’s possible it triggers after a certain part of Freaks and Geeks. Try focusing on leveling him up and unlocking Stewie, that should help trigger it 🙂

So I finished Carter about midnight last night and his quest line hasn’t started yet. Does someone else need to be free for it?
LikeLike
No, he starts part 2 of “No Candy for Old Men”. Sometimes it takes a little time for your game to trigger the continuation of a quest. Have you put him on any tasks yet?
LikeLike
I sent him on his one hour task because I didn’t want him tied up if I needed someone to start it. But it didn’t start no candy part 2. I guess I’ll just wait for it to start. He was 4th on my priority list and the first I unlocked, which I think is kind of funny. Since I wasn’t really trying to work on him.

It will happen..just keep him free for now. You also might try storing the malt shop and then placing it back into your town. This might reset Carter. Let us know.

Tried storing the malt shop twice to no avail. Idk I guess I’ll just leave him free until it starts on it’s own

Hmmm, good idea. If no quest trigger by tomorrow, send a heads up to TinyCo.

Yeah it still hasn’t started 17 hours after I unlocked him. I’ll send them a message if it doesn’t by tomorrow.

It finally triggered this morning. Only took like 30 hours haha

Does he have a quest because I finished him and no quest appeared

Sometimes it takes a bit of time for a quest line to trigger. He has 2 more parts to “No Candy for Old Men”.

I’ve needed 2 sugar packets now for 5 days… Beginning to think my game may be lagged? It’s a common drop?

Anyone notice that the sound clips link up now and then? I have had quite a few funny back and forth between the characters. Lol.

I love it when that happens….lol

He did that to me too. 😦 I’m going to shake him by is little arm, once unlocked, to see if my money falls out. 😛

Just unlocked him this morning! I love that his 1hr task is available from the beginning! Makes that early leveling so much easier.

Wanted to make sure you guys got the pics I sent to familyguyaddicts@gmail.com. Without saying what’s in the pics, what do you guys think of them?

We did get them, thanks 😉
Funny!

A little disappointed that with his task that involves the Malt Shoppe, the Malt Shoppe doesn’t light up or anything like most buildings do when a character goes into them. Too bad.

I noticed that as well and I agree, as being an endgame character he should be showcased better

Luckily he isn’t as hard to get as Stewie is. Even though I’m having a little bit of luck with him.

Yayyyyy, I just got Carl Pieceofsh**!! Got the last fuzzy slipper just now. So, next is Falcon Peter I guess… To the Petercopter!!!

Really? You edited sheet out of a made up name? Oh yeah, that’s right, it’s the good ‘ol US of A where it is OK to carry guns and have children watch brutal violence but you can’t say a word that is a normal body function. Oh, the complete and utter hypocrisy. What’s next? Editing sneezes out of posts? 4 year olds have a broader vocabulary.

Are you referencing that episode where Peter gets Carter’s last name wrong? Because I think it was “pieceofschmitt”

Not really, myself and the majority of my club 40 friends are 24/24.
Congrats Treecko! 🙂 Good luck reorganizing, now comes the fun aesthetic aspect of FGG

Thanks man. Yeah I have it pretty good set up right now but I wanna make little sub districts with the buildings and everything together.

It actually is pretty fast to have the district completed 🙂 I think the majority of people I’ve seen like to unlock using a freemium route.
Then again, it’s perception and context because with enough clams you can have everyone unlocked in the first few hours.
If my math is correct, it is impossible to have everything unlocked (mainly referring to Stewie because of his two costume reqs) in the district. It’s improbable to have Bananadog (not impossible) and roughly 29 hours ago, the very lucky and timer users are unlocking Falconer Peter or (not and) Carter. Today was a nice window for ‘and’ Carter.
Carter alone is probably the quickest clamless unlock with focus.
My math isn’t always correct though 🙂
I’m actually slowing down my peel and PBJ attempts and tripling up on blueprint tasks till about 10-15/30!!!

Do you need carter to unlock stewie or isn’t it necessary to buy him yet?

This may be a bit off topic but do you know why quagmire’s task for Stewie’s blueprint is 12 hours while the others are 20 I find it weird.

Not 100% sure but I think because it’s related to his costume task. Might be an added bonus of having the costume. That or just something TC overlooked 😉

As Stewie needs Gems as well will I still need to collect a full 30 for him after the 15 for Carter? Just a thought.
LikeLike
Yes, you’ll need 45 total Jewels to unlock both Stewie and Carter
LikeLike
someone told me if you wait till you unlock stewie and wait till the questline prompts you then you can unlock carter with just items vs if you choose to build the malt shop right away it costs an extra $25K…is that true?
LikeLike
Not in my experience. I built it per the questline in my B game and still got hit with the 25k. Anyone else have a different experience?

Hey Alissa. Question: Is there a quest line for Carter?

Yes, it’s not very long (only 3 parts) but it’s called No Candy For Old Men. Lois starts it 🙂

It’s funny because he was going to be fourth on my priority list after Brian, Peter and Stewie but he may be the one I finish first. I have all the jewels and half of the sugar packs and slippers. can’t wait to get him doing money angels, that looks really funny
