Hello there Clammers!
We last left off our walkthrough we had unlocked Tricia and Connie (oh those stupid eyeballs!). And something was hinted that Stewie might be at Funland. So now we pick this up right where we left off, with Mid-Life Crisis Lois!
The Entertainment District is where you’ll unlock Stewie and Carter, These two characters have appeared locked in the game since it started & MANY of you have been asking just when they’ll appear. Well now we’ll finally see what they can do!
Once again this District walkthrough is structured by questline (Note:Questline is considered the entire task list that is required under a certain title. For example Freaks & Geeks Pt. 1, Pt 2 etc). This should help you keep track of what comes next in each questline & what you’ll need to do. Keep in mind, with this game various quests/tasks can be running at once. You can be in the middle of 1 questline and another questline will start, however the order in which the questlines appear may be different for each game.
Unlocking characters in the Entertainment District will take a lot of patience, as the list of “Stuff” required to unlock is longer, the quantities of each are greater, and more costumes are required to unlock characters! Take your time, try not to get frustrated when the items don’t appear. Try a different task to unlock the item, or try working on a different item.
So let’s pick our walkthrough back up with Lois, Stewie, Carter & a whole new District to explore!
Just a reminder
To unlock characters: once you’ve collected all of the “Stuff”, you’ll need to go through their items again and tap the ones with check marks. Once you’ve gone through each one the lock over the character’s head will turn gold and show unlock. At this point tap the character again to fully unlock the character.
As you get further into the game it becomes harder to earn the items needed to unlock the characters. Be sure to check out the Materials page to see the odds of the items and who can help you unlock them.

Hi all, I hope everyone is doing fine. I have been playing this game on and off for almost a year now, and I am currently at level 40, having unlocked district 8 some yonks ago, but just could not find the time to play consistently. Having said that, I am facing a problem with Freaks and Geeks, Part 7. So whenever I tap/click on the icon with the nerd’s face, I am told to get Midlife Crisis Lois to scare them away or something, but every time I tap/click on “Go” to start the quest, Consuela pops up the way she would every time there is no Internet, but there is no explanation as to why I cannot start the start; the green “OK” button is all there is. Has anyone else experienced this glitch? Does anybody know why am I encountering this problem, and if yes, is there a solution to it? Hope to get a reply soon…

Hi all! I have completed everything in District 8 except for the two “Help Stewie Get Stuff” task and the “Stewie Does Target practice” task (obviously gotta wait on that). Only thing holding me up is plutonium (8 of 10 so far, none in the last two + days). Stewie got a 3 day head-start yet I finished Carter (and his tasks) already. Is this a common theme for those of you that completed District 8? Love the game….just wish it wasn’t like a trip to the dentist at times.

The rare items got us all. Headbands, eyeballs, plutonium… there is something in the Districts taking time. 😉
Just keep at it. You will get them eventually. We have all been there. 😉

Thank you. I actually got the last two this morning and am off and rolling on Stewie tasks. I have stumbled upon something that needs to be reported though (I think). It appears I’m collecting things for a Stewie sailor suit but neither Stewie nor the sailor suit is not showing up in the Al Harrington shop (at least not yet). Who would I notify about this? Thanks.

I’ve got the same issue. I’ve completed district 8, have collected all the items for sailor Stewie (even though it’s not in Harringtons), and I’m stuck.
I have no more quests to do and no way to unlock district 9.
What should I do to unlock district 9?

Question for you (and yes Sailor Stewie is a glitch)…
First question is this… mobile app or Windows stand alone for the game?
LikeLike
It’s the standalone Windows app.
I’ve just checked the update history to check it’s up to date and in the notes it says:
Note: the game will complete in District 8

So you got your answer. 😉
It is a bit different then the Mobile App because it is a Stand Alone. No word yet as to additions to it.

In the district 8 walkthrough you never mention the “What the deuce ” quest line, which is needed to unlock district 9, in the district 9 walkthrough you only talk about the “what the deuce” questline starting with part 3,, can you tell me what is part 1 of the WTD questline so I know what I need to do to figure out how to unlock district 9? thanks.

That is because you are looking at the wrong questlines for District 8/9. You need to go to Part 1 of District 9 where it starts. 😉

Stewie doesn’t join the game until District 8. Also, his skin is not in the game yet. However, typically what happens is if you earn it it’ll sit in your inventory until you unlock Stewie.

I know I’m a little late to comment on this district but I’m almost done. Waiting on Lois to finish another task so that I can clear the fan boys…. Then onto Adam West! The weird thing is that when I first opened the district I had the option to but the bubbly champagne glass, but spent my coins on in locking land first… But then after I had the district open for a few days and had the funds to get the champagne glass- it wasn’t there anymore…? I thought oh okay it was a New Years eve thing champagne/New Years ~that makes sense ~it was a limited thing… Oh well! But then when I looked on family guy addicts I saw it listed as a deco for the district.
Has it been discontinued or is my game just being weird? I do have the look out tower option available right now, which seems like it should be in the next district.
Sorry I take forever to explain myself. Life story lol. It’s really not a big deal, just odd you know?

There is any chance to get Carter before stewie? I think that i should get some stuff for him while i wait for the plutonium.
Thanks!

Predator uses the Zoo for one of his tasks if you have him. The Hotel isn’t critical. Nor the other two that I know of.
It all depends on how the tasks pop up for you to unlock Characters, if Carter pops up… go for it.

I started on the quest to unlock Stewie a few days before Halloween playing an hour plus per day. Today 1/14/15 I finally got the last plutonium I needed to unlock him. Lois & Brian have been going after the last 3 for more than 2 weeks at least twice per day. It’s a b.s. tactic to draw money from my wallet. That & the cost/effect of clams is ridiculous those are my sole complaints about this game. I have had; Carter, falconer Peter for a month, PB&J Brian and their related quests done for 3 weeks or more. My advice is to hang in there and not expect anything so when it comes it’s a surprise. Extra rare items take at least 4 attempts to earn 1 though some characters never earn items they are supposed to. This game is just as South Park said in a recent episode. It’s a 100% fact that this is a “Freemium Game” if your cool with that it’s fun.

Keep in mind the areas you are talking about are District unlocks. They are meant to last a while in the game and be there for “time filler” inbetween Events going on. They were never set up to be an instant one and done task. That would mean the game would be over in a flash and boring. You will ALWAYS have the choice of how you play your game. Clams are never a HAVE to spend on the Districts. You have unlimited time, so no reason to speed them up or fly through them at all. Keep your Clams for limited time items and buys. Don’t ever waste them on something you can get for free, regardless if it takes a lil more time. My thoughts anyway. 😉

I just started working on Stewie 7 days ago. Hoping to be done in 3 days. All i need is 3 more plutonium and 8 more blueprints (which is why i said 3 days they are 20 hour quests x 3 characters). Yes the plutonium drops super slow sorry you having so much trouble geting them.

Yes…plutonium was the hardest to get for Stewie. Best thing I can tell you to do is break up the tasks. Have Brian do the scoot and then break it up with a 1 hr task. Sometimes that helps trigger it. But it is Extra rare, and hard to come by…unfortunately.

I’ve managed to save up 250 clams. I don’t want to waste them on a building that drops an item then, as soon as I don’t need that item anymore, the building is useless. Are the premium characters worth it? Help
LikeLike
For now…save your clams. Some buildings that increase drops from extra rare items (like headbands) are helpful. Also Family Jewels is a good buy because you need so many Jewels for District 8. But beyond that…save them for now until you see something you really want. You never know with this event too
LikeLike
But wait a minute…Family Jewels is supposed to drop jewels but I can remember only one instance where it has. Herbert’s house has done a better job of dropping fuzzy slippers. I’ve also noticed that the closer you are to getting your stuff the rate at which tasks drop is much slower. Maybe it is because there are fewer characters working for that item?

Same old story. “While we’re working on it, try to uninstall and reinstalling”. Nothing happened with Mr Pewterschmidt, of course.

This is a good thing. When they say “they are working on it”..they actually are. They just ask you to do the uninstall/reinstall (which we do also..lol) to make sure it’s not a device based corrupted file. My guess, since this happened when the newest event loaded, something in the event coding is interfering with the Carter quest trigger coding. It will take some time to go through all the lines of code to find maybe one letter or number out of place. Worse case, you’ll have to wait until the event ends and is cleared from everyone’s games.

I still don’t have Stevie unlocked! I used almost all of my money and had to rack up the amount to clear the block PLUS the 20,000 to unlock him. I also agree that the tasks are too long and too many items needed for TWO different reasons. (Jerome growing his fro for jewels and baseball bat.) The fact that you need 10 satchels and only 2 characters can drop them with TEN hour tasks is a total of 50 hours and that’s only IF THEY DROP! I’ve already had about 4 times where they did not drop. over 2 days to get one item?? that you need for Stevie? I don’t even want to think about when I actually unlock Stevie. I don’t want to feel rushed but I also don’t want to log on to the game every 10 hours just to check my items and not really have fun playing.

It seems you may have reached the point of no return, if in fact you aren’t enjoying a core concept of TQFS (logging in every X amount of hours to check for ‘stuff’).
I really hope that is not the case! I’m sure it seems daunting but stick with it! 🙂 Let the addicts guide you, this website has plenty of resources to cure an ‘overwhelmed mind’ and a plethora of tips to get you where you would like to be within your Quahog.
Keep in mind, if Stewie (Stevie 🙂 just kidding) was freemiumly unlockable in 4 days, Tinyco would lose half their customer base the following two weeks.
Hopefully they keep dropping fun events here and there to break the grind and focus our eyes on a simpler, shinier and much more temporary prize!
Good luck!

30 blueprints (20 hours each) and 30 jewels and not a guaranteed drop each time? that’s insane and really turns off a lot of people. Moving forward they should make all items guaranteed to drop so if it takes a day to get something you know you will at least receive. Then you can feel you are actually working towards a goal vs sending people on tasks over and over and over and getting nothing for it. My suggestion to TinyCo if they are reading this

I just checked and it will cost me 1,650 clams to get Stewie right now. That’s over $50 for one character alone. It never cost that much in Tapped Out for a premium character. I’m done spending money on clams on this game.
LikeLike
But remember, you don’t have to spend clams to get Stewie, they are just trying to get some players to “slow down” and enjoy the scenery. But they also are saying,”Hey, if you just have to have Stewie this second…go for it…but it will cost you”. 😉

At the end of the day, however, they want us to buy clams. That’s how they make their money to continue the game but if buying stuff in the game are not kept to reasonable levels, players will be discouraged to buy clams altogether. I love the show and I have bought clams in the past to support the game but I also want to get the most from my clams but it seems that they want us to spend unreasonable amount of money on this game on every update. I have all the premium characters in Tapped Out released thus far but have never have to spend $50 on a single character alone. Something TinyCo has to consider if they want to attract players and maintain them especially since the game is fairly new and it seems that every update seems to cost so much for premium players.

I completely agree with your entire comment. I too wish they didn’t have so many “clam only” items and am very pleased to see so many buildings available for game currency in the newest update. I was only alluding to the fact that only four (Premium) characters actually cost clams (all other characters are a choice). The most expensive being Consuela, $8.55 if you bought the “Best Deal” 3500 clams [.0285¢ X 300 clams] and Jake Tucker being least expensive at $1.42 [.0285¢ X 50 clams], plus they all come with buildings…not too bad a deal.

I just counted the number of stuff needed to unlock Stewie and not counting the common items, I need 110 rare/extra rare items (which includes rare/extra rare stuff needed– not counting the common items–to unlock PB&J Brian and Falconer Peter, both of which are needed to unlock Stewie). Tell me how reasonable that is. This game is appalling. All to unlock one character. Tell me , who, in their right mind, would enjoy a game like that? That’s why players complained about the Easter boxes in Tapped Out, which thankfully EA got rid off during the Stonecutters event. I hope TinyCo learns from it. But looking at the gross earnings for FG game, I can see that it has backfired because since the Stewie update, their gross earnings didn’t go up. Truly sad as I was enjoying the game when it first started. I really hope they would make changes before it’s too late (or maybe it is). A lot of disgruntled players already from what I have been reading in the forums. I hope they are reading this.

I don’t think it’s all doom and gloom, items are dropping at reasonable rates and everyone’s clams are safe. All that is needed is perseverance and patience and all of us will get Stewie unlocked. If waiting isn’t your thing and you don’t like spending clams you can always get the collections to the point where the clam buyout is more reasonable. I think we all had to know that unlocking Stewie was going to take a considerable effort to unlock but we were blindsided by just how much effort. I’m cool with it though, I like item collection it makes the tasks more meaningful. I plan on saving my clams for whatever premium character they decide to put out and will not use any on Stewie. I wonder if you’re right, though. Are players really that disgruntled over the new content?

Your logic is a little misguided. 110 rare/extra rare items ARE in fact required for ONE character. You forgot the part where collecting all of those items ALSO gets you another character (or close to it), and two costumes and countless completed quests and a finished District 8. You are focusing on the pot of gold at the end of the very long rainbow.
If you started the game TODAY, the item/coin count to JUST unlock Stewie would be much…much………much higher.
Think about it 🙂
Free to play games require a precise balance of output and input. I think Tinyco is doing a very good job balancing and adjusting on the fly. Mistakes will be made, but not repeated.
I can’t comment as much in regards to Tapped Out, as I am not a big fan of the Simpsons. I’m aware of them though 🙂
It’s my opinion that even though the initial price tag on Stewie (or the costumes for that matter) may seem a little steep, every item you collect LOWERS the total clam price for instant unlock. Tinyco is giving YOU the opportunity to decide value. Human impatience is the foundation of most free to play (time/task-based) games.

Well, I am definitely holding off on spending money on clams because my previous premium purchases are basically worth nothing. Why the premium characters to collect items is completely defying logic of motivating people to buy more of them (or buildings, for that matter – they are only used randomly -if ever- for dropping stuff after the initial quest).
Somehow I do feel that TSTO’s premium items are a better value for (less) money – if only for upping the overall bonus percentage or improving conformity.

Also, Peter was first and has like eight outfits.
Chris was second and has two? Well, at least he was given an alternate identity.
Bonnie was third and has….one. One?!?
Lois and Quagmire have mutiple, Cleveland even has one. Meh.
LikeLike
Yeah, but how many outfits has Bonnie ever actually worn on the show? (Being pregnant isn’t an outfit!) The order of release doesn’t really mesh as we already know they aren’t releasing characters by popularity or screen time. (Otherwise we wouldn’t just now be getting Stewie, and you could probably blink and miss Jerome.)
LikeLike
You’re right, of course.
But I do remember her Facespace post with the picture of her in the stripper-like outfit, and I really thought that would become a skin for her down the road. Besides, even though I’m not a super avid watcher, I don’t remember seeing some of the outfits Peter has maybe more than once, like Tweaked Peter or Anime Peter. I would even like to see a Prom Meg or a Sinatra Brian in the future! Even Chris has only one other outfit, surprising to me because I think it’d be interesting to have maybe a Pajama Chris (maybe when we get Evil Monkey?) or Artist Chris with the green hair. Or Navy Herbert! So many options for skins, and it seems a lot go to Peter. Stewie should get a lot too, I hope!
You’re right about Bonnie though. She doesn’t have many outfits in the show. But many other outfits are one-time gags, so I am surprised they didn’t dig something up! Leaves room for future updates though!
Jerome was kind of a sad addition, in my opinion, and he’s in so few episodes that I am definitely not concerned with his outfit haha 🙂
And if they released Stewie early, I feel like people would stop playing. They would have all the characters they care about most, so TC put it off. EA did the same with Bart in TSTO, so that’s a totally understandable business plan. 🙂

Thank God, this event is long! I hate when I catch up with the developers.
I have considered spending maybe tops $50-ish on clams for a little me-present, but I just hold back. The reason? Every event and update feels like the developers sat down for a five minute meeting, said some lines that sounded funny, and threw it into a few lines of code. To me, every pop-up of text is more, “What? I don’t understand why they said that. What quest line was that, anyway?” rather than, “Oh, that was pretty clever. Totally fits with the update and definitely sounds well thought out.”
I’m not far with the new district yet, and I’m glad it will take a while to move along. I missed having quests! Needs something like TSTO where, when you catch up to the updates, you get random character quests (ex: DATE NIGHT, send Meg on a date with the Knicks…SUMMER LOVIN’, send Herbert to paint Chris…OLD MAN FROM THE SEA, send Seamus to emerge from the shadows). However, I do hope that as I move along collecting items to unlock new characters that the emerging quest lines will at least be interesting.
The television show is much more smartly written than the writers of TQFS are giving us.
Also. Please. Character tracking. I keep one road in the middle of a huge grass field to find everyone and I STILL lose characters.

I do agree about “tasks” being given in-between events and new districts opening. Also would like a character finder (will help as more characters added to game and town gets bigger).
FYI…the TV writers for the show actually write the dialog for this game. 😉
LikeLike
Huh. Fun fact! Then it sure seems like they aren’t spending as much time or effort on writing game dialog or quest plots as they do on the TV show. Makes some sense. But, every game has a weak spot somewhere. I do hope that the quest lines for district 8 and further are a little more fleshed out regardless of who writes them! I like nice, long, story filled quests! Not simply, “You’ve unlocked Connie! Now level her up to level 5 and send her on the quests you would have anyway…aaaaand now we never hear from her again. Not even on Facespace. No new tasks. No full task list either. You don’t need an hour long quest anyway.” Maybe I’m a little picky, but having a longer quest line that takes six weeks to complete with some item collecting rather than having 40 items to collect through tasks we’ve seen hundreds of times that may take six weeks but then a little “Yay, Stewie!….Aaaaand the quest line is done. See you in District 9!”
Sometimes I really think fans like us could do some really bang-up work on writing for these kinds of games. Always seems we have some great ideas that the game never quite realizes it can do! 🙂

I agree…not all the “jokes” are gems. I guess it’s easier when they have a full half hour and lots of visual aids to really hit the old funny bone….so to speak. 😉

Yes definitely! But still, they’ve done a pretty good job separating themselves from other games with the same premise (Simpsons Tapped Out..SpongeBob Move-In…even the mobile Sims games). Every game has its faults. 🙂

The writing on TSTO generally seems to be much wittier and in tune with the show. TQFS dialogs seem so random and (mostly) unfunny, that I nowadays often just tap over it because of having learned that it’s not worth the effort of deciphering the (still!) miniscule font.
And I say that with all the love that I have for the FG show and all of Seth MacFarlane’s work. I do have all FG DVD boxes at home.
Unlike TSTO, though, TQFS didn’t make me enjoy the show more. With The Simpsons, I keep watching reruns and enjoy all the side characters that I previously never really noticed and how well they were integrated in the game context.

Humor is definitely subjective. I find myself laughing at many of the jokes. I love both games and both shows for different reason. They both speak to a different part of my funny bone. At first I too compared the two, but am now just letting them breathe on their individual merits. Also, I do feel for you about the font size on phones. Have heard that complaint many times. 🙂

For what it’s worth…DVR scheduling conflicts caused me to miss a lot of FG season 8 and 9. I’m getting a kick out of streaming those episodes now and seeing where things in TQFS came from.

Ugh, we totally need character tracking! Especially as our Quahogs get bigger and we have 20+ characters wandering around and hiding behind buildings.
I think your TSTO-inspired random tasks would be a great addition for downtime in the game, like when players finish a district or an event has ended but no new content has been added.

Should I wait before placing Carter? Between falconer and pb&j an Stewie that is already a ton of items to get.
LikeLike
I didn’t, just pick your poison. I personally like picking one character at a time as my primary goal (I’ve chosen Falconer Peter). I focus every character that can help unlock them on their respective tasks. All other characters (that drop items my primary can’t use), I put on tasks that will help unlock my next target, then the other un-lockable characters. Once I unlock Peter, I’m moving on to PB & J Brian, then Stewie and finally Carter.
LikeLike
Sage advice, I think I will focus on pb&j first since I’ve had good luck with banana peels and sammiches so far. I like that TinyCo has made this whole new district difficult personally, helps me stay distracted and not get any work done. Hope my boss doesn’t read this…

That’s exactly what I’m doing. I’m getting reasonably close on Falconer Peter, but in the meantime, I’ve made some pretty good headway on PB&J Brian and Carter (I made a tactical error, and my amusement park will just finish being fixed up later today). It also gives me the option of sending characters on longer tasks overnight if I don’t think it’s worth checking in every 4 hours.

And I went the opposite way. I placed Carter, but didn’t focus on him. I too focus on one char at a time, but it’s nice to be able to start collecting stuff with chars that have nothing else to do. In fact, I got all the slippers from the house without ever sending anyone on a task. At this point my top priority is the even chars (just got the last piece of pizza so I got Patrick!), then my next priority is Stewie (Just need a few more blueprints) and Carter is my last priority, but i’m still making progress on him without hurting my progress on others. I already got all the jewels after I used what I needed for Stewie, and at this point I only need some sugar packets. I’ve got Peter focused on getting max Blam with his Captian Hammered costume, so it’s just Chis, but slowly he’s getting it done, and getting 8 Blam! each time too.

Cybersilly’s right. (What else is new?) Lol
I placed him & discovered that some character’s tasks earn 2 different items. Like Quagmire & Chris for example. So, while trying to get items for Xerxes, I’m getting jewels & sugar packets instead. I’ve had to change my goal to gathering the more common items for Carter, just so I can get back to the quest I really wanna focus on. It’s not soul crushing or anything, it’s just your personal preference. Some may find it fun to have a potluck on items; others like to focus on getting Falconer, as he’s needed to unlock Stewie.
Btw, it’s fun to reread comments & realize how bizarre they sound when taken out of the context of the game! If I said what I just typed out loud in public, I may be asked if I’m alright. I’d have to respond, “Yeah, I’m great! I’m just an addict!” Cue sirens. 😉

As sort of an update not placing carter has been a good decision. Items are dropping well for pb&j but still not making a tremendous dent in the totals. Did get my first maracas though. I wonder how everyone else’s luck is going. Quagmire continues to be one of the stingiest droppers in my game, but Lois is worse. Even common items almost never drop from her tasks…ugh.

Wow there is a ton of items to collect! I’m sure it does go by faster once you have Stewie but right now it seems daunting, and I’m sure some people will have great difficulty getting the extra rare items. Oh well. I’m a bit flustered that the new premium buildings have build times. Do you think this was intentional, or an overlook by the company?
