Hello There Clammers!
We’ve just received word from our friends at TinyCo that THEY HEAR YOU! They’ve listened to & read all of the complaints about the Tea Party Event and have decided to extend the event for ONE MORE DAY!
How awesome is it to have a company behind a game that actually listens to their players?! 🙂
Here’s the game plan direct from TinyCo:
-There will NOT be a new toy tonight at 10pm PDT. The event will end at this point, as scheduled.
-TOMORROW (7/23) at some point in the early afternoon PDT, TinyCo WILL add another (new) toy for collecting.
-You will be able to collect the new toy throughout the day, so you can have up to 3 more chances to open the mystery box.
Here’s the deal from Addicts:
-We don’t currently know what time the toy will change tomorrow. We only know it’ll be at some point tomorrow early afternoon Pacific Time. We will continue to check our games throughout the day and let you know as soon as it changes.
-The event WILL end temporarily tonight at 10pm PDT (1am EDT/0500 GMT). So make sure you get your last attempts in to collect the toys tonight. But DO NOT reset the tasks tonight. Wait until tomorrow when it restarts, so you can get a fresh start.
-We do not know if they’ll add more stuff to the box if you already have everything. So if you were lucky enough to open everything, we’re not sure yet if you’ll have more to win tomorrow.
So here’s your chance to collect Rupert, for those of you that haven’t been able to get him yet. TinyCo hears you & they are listening!

I havent tried that yet. Atleast it would free quagmire and Chris while Peter has fun in the washing machine and Bruce plays with his kittens! I had no idea u could do that

I uninstalled the game yesterday the minute I opened my last possible gift and didn’t get Rupert (after getting every single every other possible item).
I’ll be re-installing this morning.

glad they’re doing it. getting beyond the 2nd party hasn’t worked for me.. we all need sleep. i’m even lucky at times if i don’t pay attention to the clock to make it to the 2nd. i just wish they’d spread these things out so we can work on unlocking our new characters too. this is very pick and choose lol

Awesome how we get a extension. Bummed I haven’t got Rupert yet 😦 and won’t be getting a chance to do the extension game. Is there away that we could have him? Like unlocking him like we have to do with the rest. Or something else.

I managed to get Rupert in my last box with 2 items left last night. So I was lucky, but I think its great they have extended it, particularly for people like me who only missed out on one box in the end, it would have been very frustrating to have won all but Rupert. Also giving a gap to the afternoon in case people had put long tasks on. Good Job.

I like the extension but when it starts in the afternoon in Europe it will be evening….and so this is again very problematic and only works good for US players….

Actually, the events haven’t been good start times here, either. They have started at midnight on the west cost, which is 3AM on the east coast. Maybe 11:00am or noon on the west coast would work a bit better globally. 😉

Only got Stewie Billobard, Dansu Dansu, Pawtucket Ale truck and Herbert’s Ice Cream Truck. I’m predicting I won’t get Rupert OR Lobster Shanty, the only two things I want.

Very happy about the extension however if there is a possibility of having more prizes added what’s the point!? Instead of getting rupert you’ll now get another heap of useless junk just like the other 11 prizes in the first attempt to get rupert, if you only have 2 more prizes to get and one of them is rupert don’t add more prizes because all the complaints you’re getting the first time around you’re going to keep getting again

I don’t think they are adding prizes for the very good reason you just made. It looks like only “time” being added. And it’s great it’s 3 more boxes, to cover the 1 and 2 box short crowd. This adjustment, is really impressive.

I spent about 100 fu***ng clams on this damb event the past two days in order to get Rupert, what a bunch of as****es. First time I’ve actually been pissed at this game. Not a chance to get refunds I’d bet too.

Thank you for censoring yourself. I am sorry you feel upset. We encourage players to hold off on clams and wait til end to use them, but it is your choice if and when you do.
Thing is…NO ONE could have predicted they would do this. Not even them. A last minute thing in response to players. It really is a great gesture on their part when you step away and look at it.

Oh I know, you guys run a nice clean site:). I know its sweet they extended it, but it would have been nice for a clue or a hint on it coming when they figured it out. Sure, the clam prizes are also dope, but I would still be more than fine without them, 10 clams for a billboard, pretty steep and IMO wasteful and stupid. Either way, no going back now, but I’m still kinda erked. I need a footrub from you now lol.

I got Rupert in a box last night which I was happy about thinking it would be my last chance at opening a box. I think I’ve got quite lucky getting some of the items I really wanted like Rupert, lobster shanty & pirate car but it’s been so much better that you couldn’t win duplicates after I ended up with 6 air debris gardens out of the last boxes which was where I felt like throwing this game. Those were angrier times though 😉

Yeah I did come very close to just deleting the game but I’m glad I gave it another go after a bit of a break. I think between getting used to the different style of game and not being a big fan of the last event it got me more annoyed than I should have when it is a game.
This upcoming event already seems like it should be good if its about superheroes and if some things that didn’t quite work in that last event have been tweaked.

Although we don’t know when the exact time it will start (TinyCo says some time early afternoon PDT)…you might be fine. It will last a full 24 hours after the extended day begins. 😉

Why don’t people listen to use about the “on the fly” part of the game? It can change at any moment… This quest was probably one of the better on the fly changes. That being said, I wish they were my school teachers growing up. Mistakes always made and how they fix them… Give more time…

Is this confirmed? a full 24 hours after the new toy drops?
The OP states being able to collect the toy ‘througout the day’ but that could be interpreted to mean until the original 10pm or even just midnight.

Not 100% but they’ve said you’ll get 3 more attempts at the box. The only way at getting 3 more attempts (unless you spend clams) is to have it last a full day. Our assumption is it’ll end just before the new event hits iTunes stores tomorrow.

Yep, it’s a full, 3 box, 24 hour cycle. Those that juuuust missed out are covered. And those that missed a few prizes are also covered. Really smart move on their part.

As we stated in the post. The event will end…sometime. Lol. Then tomorrow…sometime…the new stuff will end. Give it a bit to stop. Then there will be a gap until the restart. So just keep characters open and short 1 minute tasks if you must. Hour if you wanna push your luck. 😉

That is super nice of Tinyco to do this. I was behind on the event on the first day and spent about 60 clams to rush jobs for a 2nd box and got all the rest the other days, and the one prize I’m still missing? Rupert of course

Just opened my 11 of 12 boxes and got Peter’s pirate car!! Yes! All that’s left is the Gold Diggers island so I am officially done with this awesome event! I was able to unlock Faconer Peter during this event too so back to unlocking PB&J Brian and Stewie. Also will have the malt shop complete soon to get Carter!

I liked that this event took away prizes once you opened them. There was only going to be a double up on three for me so anything else I got was a definite bonus.
I really wouldn’t have minded not getting Creepy Bear as I got for free clam stuff I never would have got otherwise.
Enjoyed this, probably cos I didn’t stress over it 😉

I do feel for clam buyers. I don’t expect the same as I don’t pay to play. The only reason KB hacked me off is cos I was on all the ruddy time.
This time I knew I could only have two parties, knew prizes didn’t repeat and knew I’d come out on top no matter what cos only three were coin purchases

On another note I don’t know what we would do without this blog!? I spent clams last night (like a lot of us) rushing tasks in an attempt at Rupert. Now I wake up to see this task is still available and I did not need to rush! That is a quite annoying, but then I have to balance that with the fact I may now get a character I otherwise thought I had missed!? The thing is they make a task, describe on the game what is to be done but then change it without that much of an update in the game! That is fine for me as I close my game and come straight on here to figure out what is going on….. those that have not found this blog must be thinking what the….. So in short thanks for your blog!

I have four boxes left to open, I’ve not been lucky in any event so far so I’m assuming that won’t change and the one box left will be rupert, but we shall see. Just wish I knew what time the last day will start and If it’ll be the same characters doing the same tasks. I’ve got them doing the same ones just incase when it changes I can get a head start. Fingers crossed.

Thanks for the awesome quick help a lil bit ago but ran into a prob hope I can get some more help I paid the clams to have them finish there tasks early enough to get final box for day I immediately set them all back to they’re task for toys than went to open my final box I just earned soon as it came up my phone died so plugged it in and opened the game back up and to my surprise Bruce wasn’t doing the task I set him too and also my box was gone. Errggg…. Lol someone please help

Hmmmm. I would say to contact TinyCo right away via your in game menu, help & settings, contact TinyCo and tell them just what you told us. See what they can do. In the meantime, keep trying again when the new stuff drops tomorrow. Give them a lil time to respond.

Noticed something, when this happens. The game doesn’t save your current task, but if you launch the Facebook or the visit friends part. Then go back, you’ll have no problems. Kind of what a lot of people have to do in TSTO game. Jp is a genius 😉 haha, that one is for you Bunny.

I lucked out With 15 minutes until the event “ends” I spent some clams to finish some of the tasks so I could get my last box for the day. It was worth it! I’ve got Rupert in my town so now I can send everyone to collect items and catch up.

Well im glad they added another day just hope they dont add any more prizes i got 2 prizes left unfortunately its rubert and truck just opened my last party awhile ago and got dansu i’ll be happy if they just let us catch up it is/was a good little event it had nice prizes and this little break well let me work on stewie a little and get some sleep.thank you guys for all your hard work,the info,and talking with tinyco on our behalf keep up the good work

Dag nabbit. I just started the blueprint & sugar quests again. Lucky the sugar tasks are only 8 hours & netchix is only 12. I should be able to get the 6 toys I need without spending clams. Nonetheless, it is only 48 clams max to guarantee Rupert.
Despite my occasional rants I love this game & must admit that the folks at tinyco try to go out of their way to try to make sure everyone is reasonably happy. & thanks to all you folks at addicts for offering a fun community for the game.

sigh….and I had just resigned to quit too…okay TinyCo you get another chance. You do seem to be making an effort. If you really are listening….I want to spend money to make tasks easier and get premium extras. but when I work hard to play your game the last thing I want is a mystery box that doesn’t give me what I want. Free mystery presents are cool but not as the end of a quest where you get a chance to get the mcguffin. if I set my timers and play your game I expect to be rewarded not frustrated. It doesn’t have to be easy but it should be fun.

I’m so happy that they’re extending the event! Thank you TinyCo and thank you fellow “addicters”! This site never fails to help me keep my sanity when the gaming blues hits. I really appreciate everything you guys do here to help is all keep our heads! After I didn’t get Rupert I was so mad. But, between addicts and facebook, there’s such a great positive environment! It’s nice to have a place to go to not only vent, but to actually get help! They didn’t have to extend the time, but they did. And addicts had a huge part in making that happen! So, thank you all! I hope everyone that didn’t get Rupert gets him tomorrow! Best of luck! =)

Hmmm, well….I can tell you that won’t happen. I too spent clams & I still don’t have him in my A game, only because I missed part of the day on Saturday. You did get something rare…you got Rupert. There are plenty of players that don’t have him & some that still won’t have him tomorrow. Just be thankful you won’t have to tap like crazy tomorrow 😉

Up at 4:50am GMT and decide to go on the game for one last chance to get rupert (hadn’t read this post yet)… Turns out I got him ;D really happy hehe.
I’m glad to see that some game devs for free to play games actually care about the people who play. Props to tiny co.
Just my two cents, but I think you might be able to buy rupert with clams at a later date? He seems to be the goth character in the “characters you buy” category in face space?
Also, since this is my first comment; thought I might as well tell you all about a tiny bug I found in the game with the large American flag and the mummy museum. If you get either one on the screen then move upwards slowly, you’ll notice that they disappear before they’re actually off screen.

Well here’s my only thing and they’ll prob fix this accordingly. It’s the fact that the number of toys needed to open the boxes were set up so if you used all four characters and played all-day, u’d be able to get exactly 24 toys and not have to spend clams on anything. But now with the start time being a little later; if the total is still set at 24 to get the 3rd box, then it’s pretty much impossible to do it free, unless they extend the closing time accordingly. Like I said that’s the one issue I found could go wrong with this, but I believe they’ll adjust according to make it fair for everyone and possible to complete, 100% free.

We’ll know tomorrow when the reintroduce the event into the game…right now there’s a lot of questions out about it. For now all we know is it will be extended starting tomorrow afternoon…and that’s where we sit until we see more in the game 🙂

Good to know. Just waiting for the toy to flip. All four of my buddies are ready go lol! I wonder if some people actually read the posts above and just don’t shoot down here to complain or ask questions. 99% of them can be answered up in the post if they just read it, but people are asking word for word what it says above haha. I think its hilarious and has to get a bit annoying on your end? And u don’t got to answer that haha just ramblin…! People are just so perfect these days and have zero patience, so it’s like the game should always deliver haha. And that’s ignorant thinking cuz no game is perfect. They’re all going to crash from time to time and and are riddled with bugs and glitches. That’s just technology!

WHAT DO U KNOW! I was right, not enough time. I started at almost exactly the right time it flipped and im right where a free player should be. Started my fourth round that woulda earn me 16 and get my second gift, but with it ending soon prob won’t get that chance. I’m not spending and im not rushing this. No offense but they’ve been F#CK#NG terrible about that time frame. Did a rush last night cuz like u said, and not blaming u u were just reporting what they told u, but u said the event would stop at 1am and instead of them doing that from midnight-5pm they just let it play out. I had 23 and only needed 1 so I coulda easily got it, but I spent 8 and got the Koi Pond. I have 3 prizes and 2 chances, everyone’s reporting Ruperts been in their 12th box and I have a feeling thats me too. (Which I can never get LOL) So, ill take my chances and see what happens. Hopefully the update only ends on IOs and ours lasts a little longer since we don’t actually get the new event tomorrow. IDK any suggestions im frustrated now cuz everyone reporting getting him in there most recent boxes so im wondering if they haven’t juiced the odds of getting him in our favor a bit. But still, I got the stupid Koi Pond I already have in my first box, so IDK LOL??? 😕

Mathematically it was impossible before due to the 5-10 seconds spent retasking people. Basically the toy eould change with 20 seconds remaining for everyone. You HAD to spend clams. Even if it was just 1 for the last hour. I got annoyed and tried an old glitch. It worked but took 8 goes. I feel justified in that so many people got him first try then I reckon the % changed. Not a fan of shifting goal posts in the middle of something.

Actually the reset each night took place after 10pm & at different times each night. That gap in timing made up for the time spent reassigning tasks etc 🙂

Nice that they act on feedback. But… I would rather have seen them listen and react to the requests of having premium characters help collecting stuff and shorter task times.
I have finally unlocked Carter two days ago, Falconer Peter today and still have PB&J Brian and Stewie to go with some considerable amounts of stuff missing. Long tasks and extra rare items – it’s both boring and painful when the damn items just won’t drop after waiting for 20h.
Doing an event like this simultaneously requiring the very same characters that you also need to unlock the four District 8 characters/costumes is definitely not cool.

I get both sides on the premium. I see Freemiums without them screaming unfair as it forces them to pay to play them. I see Premiums screaming give us more for what we paid for.

I am hoping for a lil something more out of premiums though. No matter what. Similar to those bonus % or something like the “other” game. Lol. All we can do is wait. So far they are still making some cool changes and progress. Only a few months old and look how far they’ve come. 😉

I was thinking along the line of premium characters should be dropping additional stuff, not certain items exclusively. They should provide some benefit by allowing freeing freemium characters for other stuff (like working on collecting toys) or getting more of the same items to unlock stuff.
The way they’re using the premium characters (or rather don’t) are not really helping to sell them at all or at least sell further premiums once players realize the little value they bring to their game.
Learned my lesson, won’t spend any more actual money on TQFS while continuing to do so in TSTO. I’ll continue free in TQFS, probably until they make unlocking something so ridiculously hard and time consuming to make me lose interest.

I personally think premium characters should have automatic random drops of an item you need. Right now I am done with all my costumes with the exception of PB&J Brian as I just started it. I have one premium character that I paid clams for and KB and now Rupert. Since they are special, they should drop items I need to either unlock another character (like when I begin Stewie) or drop an item I need for the Brian costume.. It does not have to be a drop all the time, but it should happen…

Damn, wish I read this post sooner. Just spent a butt-load of clams to speed up tasks to get two more gifts, but still no Rupert; just another Gold Digger Island and another Koi Pond, both of which I bought with coins at another time. I just couldn’t stay up any longer, so I figured I’d give it one last shot. I can’t use the App at work, so hopefully the new toy will show up around 5pm EST when I get home.

Final two gifts were between Rupert and Pirate car…got pirate car (which saves me an impromptu bunny hop)…Super Stoked I have a complete day to open one more gift…and that gift will be Rupert…and although I have all day to grab this really disturbing creature..I will have him as early as possible…oh yes…it will happen

Like everyone else, glad to hear about the extension. Just got my last 4 toys for the night, and of course my prize is the Stewie billboard. All that was left unclaimed was Peter’s Pirate car and dearest Rupert. I’ve sent the guys on other tasks no more than 8 hrs that earn me other items. I like evilhomer’s idea of sending the guys back to running their 4 hr tasks first thing in the am, then not clicking them til the event pops again with a new toy so as to get an instant head start on collecting toys. Thanks evilhomer and thanks to the Addicts for always fighting for the Users!
