Hello There Clammers!
Here we are in the final week of a long and grinding Comic Con Event. Every week for 7 weeks there has been something new introduced into the game, some good and some meh…but we’ve been grinding it out together for the last 7 weeks.
And now we’re in the home stretch…when those of us who have all of the prizes and almost all of the costumes are starting to think we can slow down a bit. After all, bombing minions and collecting harpoons is REALLY starting to feel like a grind. BUT TinyCo doesn’t want us to slow down….no they like when we’re constantly in our games checking every couple of hours. I get it. It’s what makes this game great.
So what does TinyCo do to get us grinding out these last few days? With less than 6 days left in the event they release Stripper Bonnie (a costume MANY of you have been requesting for a while now). Cool right? Wrong!
With a Comic-Con Event that has been AMAZING…this, in the final days, is an EPIC fail on the part of TinyCo….
First, let me say (as many of you already know) Bunny and I ADORE TinyCo and the staff that works there. It’s a fantastic company and they really love what they do. They want to make this the best game they possibly can….and are ALWAYS up to listening to player feedback (in particular the feedback from this blog). For every poll we do, we send TinyCo the results…and they almost always tweak something in the game based on YOUR feedback. That’s AWESOME.
Because we have such respect for them we’ve been able to easily defend them in a lot of cases. While we agree with player reaction to a lot of things, we can see the other side of the situation and often times get what’s going on. We always relay your feedback to them, but we get it. We can defend them. We can understand what it is they’re doing, and why they’re doing it.
But this….I can’t defend this.
It’s bad enough that they release a character with Rare and Extra Rare items with less than 6 days left to go…BUT to put the item collection AFTER a 58 hour questline is just wrong. That leaves many players with only 3 days to collect 20 Rare items and 5 Extra Rare items (I know there’s common in there but they should fall fairly easily).
THREE DAYS?! Are you kidding me? It’s been a week since Rollocop hit the game and I’m STILL not done collecting everything for him (and he also only needed 5 Extra Rare items) and you expect me to get everything for Bonnie in THREE DAYS?! Especially when all of the tasks are 4, 6 and 8hrs long?! Seriously?
Not a fan of this AT ALL. If TinyCo wanted people to spend Clams on Stripper Bonnie they should have just made it a Premium Costume. I gladly would have shelled out clams for her…if they were being honest up front and saying “Hey spend Clams on her if you want her!” Although…I WON’T pay the 650 clams it would cost the rush build her this way. (especially after already spending $150+ in my personal game just for THIS EVENT and having less than 500 clams of it left)
I know many of you agree with me on this. You have no issues grinding it out to get stuff BUT you take exception when you have THREE DAYS to do it!
So, because we’re not just those who like to attack and run away…let’s give some constructive criticism to TinyCo about what they can do to make this situation better….here are my ideas:
-Switch Stripper Bonnie to a Premium Costume, costing no more than 150 clams (it is a skin after all)…or bundle her with the new Stripper pole for 170 Clams, and let it be an instant create.
-Open her costume up in Al Harrington’s NOW so we can start earning the STUFF needed to collect her BEFORE we complete the 58hr questline. That way we have more than 3 days to earn everything.
-Change the drop rates on the items so the rare items are Uncommon and the Extra Rare is Rare. That should make it slightly easier to earn everything you need in the allotted time.
-Make it so Stripper Bonnie is NOT tied with Comic-Con. Allow players unlimited time to unlock her. Afterall, what does Stripper Bonnie have to do with Comic-Con anyway? She’s actually a highly requested costume, and by making her limited-time you just alienate a bunch of newer players…and we’ll have a Cleveland situation all over again.
I think any one of those four options are fair. Many players, myself included, are MORE than willing to grind it out and earn the costume (or spend a reasonable amount of Clams on it)…BUT feel it’s extremely difficult to do so with the allotted time. Any of those four options are fair to both players AND TinyCo.
And let’s try not to have short term memories here. Let’s remember all the AMAZING things TinyCo has done during this event….
-Actual Celebrities, VOICED, in our games! (many for free)
– Made it A LOT easier to earn ALL of the Blam! Required to unlock all of the prizes (and many of us are sitting at or near 200,000 Blam! Already)
-Countless freemium buildings costing Blam! Currency
-Blam! Boxes where you can get FREE Clams!
-All the Free Clams they’ve given us during this event!
-Really awesome character animations
– And most importantly they kept us all engaged. Each and every week they introduced NEW and exciting content, that had many of us clamoring for Thursday night to see what would be coming and what they had in store for us. And in MANY cases they not only updated Thursday BUT updated Friday as well. That is the mark of a great game!
This in my opinion is the FIRST major fail of this update…and hopefully TinyCo will continue to be the awesome company they are and do something about it!
Now it’s YOUR turn! What are some suggestions you might have for TinyCo to correct the Stripper Bonnie situation? What are some of your highlights from this update? Did you initially think you wouldn’t make it to 100,000 Blam! and are now sitting at WAY more? Sound off in the comments below, you know we LOVE hearing from you!

Another idea that I had is too make it so that after you complete the 58 hour quest, she will be in al harrington’s after the event is over.

Agree 100%. I think the best idea would be to not have this costume tied to the ComicCon event.
One of the things that sets Tiny Co. apart from the despicable way EA Sports operates is that, Tiny Co. doesn’t set quests for rewards that are intentionally *impossible* to obtain without spending premium currency. As you said, if they want clams spent on something, just make it cost clams.
I hate to see them go down this road.

It just seem to me that the people who makes FGQFS is getting too greedy. I mean, to spend $10-$20 on a character and a building is insane. The popular games on them consoles like xbox and ps3 cost those company to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to make with hundreds of staff and all you spend is a flat rate of $60 on the games. People spend more than that on these apps games like this one in just ONE event like comic cons so they’re making a killing off of us and now they want to force u to spend on Bonnie’s COSTUME or else u won’t get it in time. Wtf, I know they don’t spend that much to make the game and keep it running so why are they being so damn greedy?

IMHO, I think Alissa may have nailed it on the head with her fourth point of not tying Stripper Bonnie to the ComicCon event.
Here’s the thing, with EVERY ComicCon costumes, the items necessary were obtained by Blam! or ComicCon related tasks. But with Stripper Bonnie, there isn’t a SINGLE ComicCon related task or character/costume that yields an item drop.
That cannot be an anomaly. I’m fairly sure that is clear evidence of TinyCo’s intent to extend Stripper Bonnie extend beyond the end of ComicCon, as Alissa suggested.
Coupled with their response to the complaint only being to add tasks to earn MicroChips…why else would they make a concession that doesn’t make Bonnie any easier?

Best way to compensate would be an easy to get Brian costume 😉

I thought it was a little excessive, but a day and 60 clams has me about ready to start part 7, with a few tasks ready to complete… 5 days might not be enough for the extra rares, but I’ll probably end up spending less than 150 clams on stripper bonnie, that’s not much considering the rate they’re dropping clams from the boxes. I wouldn’t complain if they extended the event or something to guarantee getting the outfit without clams, but still, this isn’t too bad IMO

I agree that this should not have been associated with the comic con event. The lengthy questline before the item collection is too much with too little time in the event.

I sent Bonnie on the first 12hr task and then read on here about the 50+ hrs of tasks before can actually earn items… promptly sent her back to getting microchips 🙂
Rest of event has been good. Over 100k blam with all blam buildings, will get iron baby later today and still got few days left to get last 3 microchip for Joe or buy him with earned clams 😉

I agree with all the above. However, I wish the extra rare quest weren’t long time quests. If it were 2, 4, or 6 hour time limits but still had the same drop rate, it wouldn’t have the same frustration level. Any 8+ hour tasks ties up a character and at most gets you at most 3 chances per day to get the item needed (if you manage your game time well).
Also maybe use some of the minor characters able to get in one the tasks. What the bleep are Trisha, Connie, or Carter in the game if they don’t regularly participate in the important tasks?

Chiming in with my experience with the Comicon event before I give my 2 cents about Bonnie.
I am a free player. I have not spent one cent of real money on this game, so I set my expectations at a certain level about obtaining everything there is to get. Yeah, I’d love to have it all, but I also understand that the company is here to make money first, and then make a game that’s fun for everyone, so I don’t get too bummed about what’s premium or what is not. I didn’t think I’d get to George Takei, but I unlocked him a couple of days ago. I juuuust missed getting the fifth vehicle (and the subsequent grand prize vehicle) because of the “definitely not random” choice of harpoons and running out of time. I was mad about that, but then I get other stuff to do and oh well, I missed it. I haven’t had a problem getting chips to drop for Rollocop (I waited until I was one chip short and spent a few clams to finish him off). I have every Con guest that you can get without spending clams and bought several of the extra buildings with Blam. I’ve enjoyed this event way more than the King Butt event, mainly because they gave us time to do things, and a lot more opportunities to earn what was required. The only thing I’d change is how they wrote the code for the harpoons and when they’re used. Today, I had to use the high tech harpoons four times in a row, which may be a glitch due to hunting the Demon Stewie back to back to back in a short time. I notice that the required harpoon is more likely to change if I slow down on the hunting.
As far as Stripper Bonnie goes, I’m glad it’s in the game, but putting in anything like this in the last week of the event seems to be a bit much. I also would like her costume to be unattached from the event, so that we have time to earn it normally. That seems to be the easiest way to fix the problem (the way that requires the least amount of fiddling). Now we need that second costume for Meg, the one that has been on the splash page from the beginning.

How on Earth are people over 200,000 Blam? I have been playing as much as I can and am just under 75,000. Pretty much no shot of getting George Takei at all. Iron Baby is possible, but highly unlikely. I don’t think I have enough harpoons to get 20 plates. Really sucks all of the ones that I “collected” before I got to the mission do not count. No chance at all for Bonnie, I can not get that many drops in that time frame. I think another fair option would be to extend the event another week. Give everyone a chance to finish off everything. Still rather frustrated that Kindle does not count as being Android, but not much I can do about that. Would like to see something special given to us, but I am guessing that won’t happen. Not enough of us around to matter.
This event may have been awesome for people who have had the game from the beginning, but for a forced newcomer to the game it has been rough.

Are we sure this is going to end with the completion of the event? All of her tasks involve characters and drops that are NOT related to the event. Is it possible that so long as we have started the costume quest it can be completed after the event? It seems the great people at TinyCo would not be so shortsighted to only leave a couple of days after a 57 hour quest line to accomplish all of those drops with a costume that is so desired as this one. Would be a real shame if it isn’t able to be acquired.

I have been confirming daily she goes with Comic Con. As of this very second I write this, she goes with Con. Will it change? Who knows. All we can do is make the suggestion.

Of the options you presented, I like the last one the best (Allowing the unlock after comic con). This is the quest for stuff, I imagine we are all happy to wait for stuff. As long as we are given enough time to do so.
An alternative though would be to allow us to trade the comic con resources for the stuff we need to unlock the costume. For instance, bombs for earrings, harpoons for fishnets and heels, and batteries for wax. This allows additional characters to contribute in a less direct way, also allows us to get rid of any excess we may have from the blam boxes, and gives us a much better chance of completing the unlock.
Alissa, your article was well written and fair

Has there been confirmation that you will not be able to collect items for stripper bonnie after the event? It does not say limited time in Al Harrington shop in my game. Could it be that as long as we get to pt 7 we will be good to collect after the event. If not this is a cash grab and will have ruined a perfect event for me.

Soooo I love this game and all of the cool things but whoa!!! I’m trying to get Rollocop, Stripper bonnie and turbo iron baby and it’s impossible! How are we supposed to get all this stuff with a week left and everything takes so long to get? The 20 scraps of demon are taking forever and there is no way to speed that up. It’s just all too much and not enough time.

I agree with everything said. I love collecting costumes and was planning on getting more clams just to get Cranston before the event ends just to have it done but now I’m not even sure I want to do that after this mess that was added with Bonnie and then the way they made the costume for Joe for us Android players….

Having read everything on here, I think I’m not going to bother even trying to get stripper bonnie. As much as I want that costume (I LOVED that episode), I would rather finish the main storyline (and get those last 2 cameras for stan lee).
Now I have no problem with being at a disadvantage as a freemium player. I know how these games work, in that when you pay, you get rewarded. In fact, family guy is possibly the fairest of these games I’ve played. I have been known to occasionally spend on simpsons and indeed this. Stripper bonnie is the kind of costume I would have expected as a premium costume, and not as a limited time offer. If she had been 130 clams, I probably would have seriously considered buying her.
I’ve loved this event, even though I don’t think I’ll reach 100,000 blam (although that’s down to me I think). I just think it’s sad that this has maybe dampened the event 😦

I definitely agree. For me, the best idea is to NOT end it with the Con timing and to put her costume in there now to start working on it. I will put in the time, but it’s hard to justify it when it seems impossible. This is the only costume I’ve been really excited about and now it seems like it will be one of the only ones I can’t get. I’m still working away on my “gift” anyway!

I agree completely with a couple of the points made here.
First, thank you to TinyCo for the overall awesomeness that was this ComicCon. I applaud the decision to allow the Iron Baby quest to carry on beyond Comic Con, especially since I only started playing 2 weeks before the event started, was on District 3 when it first appeared, and currently have collected exactly zero plutonium rods, and don’t have either PB and J Brian or Falconer Peter fully unlocked.
Coming from this same perspective, I would love to see the Bonnie costume be extended beyond Comic Con, or even made a permanently available outfit, perhaps tied in with the entertainment district. I know that every time I see Cleveland in someone else’s Quahog, I get a little salty, having completely missed the King Butt event.

Well, I wrote them regarding lazy spanish translations, because half of the jokes were missing and replaced by a “Great” or “Perfect!” and it was annoying. So when I complained they’ve added translations…in Portuguese -.-
So now I’m playing in good ol’ fashioned english, so I won’t miss more jokes, but it’s a pity.

They havent. Switched today to Spanish again, checked translations and:
-half of the game remains unstranslated.
-seems like the translator doesn’t bothers on check the translations after he/she makes them (some of them are barely legible)
-District 9 is still in portuguese
-some variables, such as “Collecting rent” are translated for some buildings, and not for all that say collecting rent…

Fully agree no chance of getting it in the time allowed, Rollocop was another fail in my opinion, after 4 days and 24 combined tries no microchips, so used 100 clams so I could do his tasks before it ended now this, simple option take her out if the comic con and no time limit as you sugested not even any buildings to help.

I agree 100%. Well spoken, I think you put everybody’s thoughts into words. One other option, if there’s a matter of wanting people spending money, is to make every item rare or extra rare, release buildings but give everyone unlimited time since the costume isn’t really comicon related.

Hi Alissa. First of all a great write up well done. I really hope they put her in the design store to complete anytime, as long as we have done other tasks which would be fair. I’m a freemium player and all I ask is we get a fair chance without spending money.
Another issue I have which I have sent to them through the in game help and support method is the lack of plutonium. I have had 6 to collect for over a week and sent lois and Brian at lease 2times per day. That’s over 14 times and not 1. I have not heard anything back and wondered if you could help. If it was too easy it would be boring but nothing at all is frustrating. Thankyou x

I completely agree with any of the 4 main ideas. I wish they had done a Brian costume though, because he is the only one of the Griffins not to have one (Of course not including Meg haha). I have loved Comic Con so far, its what made me start playing QFS. I love all the celebrities (I often click them for no reason at all just to hear their voices) and the costumes given. But I am so annoyed with what TinyCo have done with Bonnie. And innitially I was panicking about Blam!, I WANTED TAKEI. But now, ‘Oh myyyy’, I am up to over 200000 total XD

Meh, it’s not as bad as you think. The Common items drop from long tasks(8-12 hr) and the Rares drop from 6-8hr tasks and the Extra Rares from 4hr tasks which means they’ve giving you like 18 tries a day for the 5 extra rare things. I’ve already earned 2 of the 5 in 6 tries.
She probably should just end up not tied to the event but man people are acting like it’s the worst thing ever even after TinyCo did so much for people in this event to ensure they got a far superior experience to the Moon Idol event.

I went into comic con thinking there was no way I would get George Takei, and just wanted Stan Lee to consider it a success for me. Now I have over 200k and somewhere around 50k blam to use on the boxes. This event has been great until Stripper Bonnie. I like all four of your suggestions and agree that they would be fair to all parties involved. If they would just let us start collecting items now before we get to part 7 I think I would be satisfied with that. I have 432 clams but I wanted to save them for district 9. I also feel like Lois shouldn’t be on two items. There are other characters they could have used. Sorry for rambling, this kind of irritates me.

That was a glitch. They were on top of it and fixed it within 24hrs as well as provided Clams to players. Glitches are NOT a controllable situation. There is NO way any gaming house can anticipate them happening, so that…does not apply or count at all and unfair to even compare.
An item introduced in the game is controllable, like this one.

Totally agree with this post. This had been a great event and it seems a shame to end it on a sour note like this. You guys know I love you, this game and even Tiny Co. They have promptly fixed every issue I have ever had! But right now I am as aggravated with this game (or any game) that I have ever been. Being an Android player I expected Joe’s costume to be easier to obtain than it has been, I am still trying to get Microchips, and I had hoped it would drop earlier in the event so he could help with harpoons and whatnot. Instead they dropped him with a bunch of other quests that require many of the same characters doing insanely long tasks with very little time left in the game. On top of that, I had Bonnie on her 8 hour abuse jacuzzi jets task when her stripper costume dropped. So now I am behind by just under 8 hours on getting her started towards her costume. I think she should have come after Comic con with the new district or immediately after unlocking Stewie so we would have more time to collect her items. I have dropped more than $80 on this game since comic con started and I just don’t have anything left to spend (I feel guilty spending that much considering I won’t spend that much on games for my Wii or Xbox 360). There is less than a week left in the game and I still need to finish Iron Baby, RoboCop, and now Stripper Bonnie. Ugh! For me extra rare = epic (I have even had epic fall faster in some cases) and rare = extra rare. Yet I have managed to get the items in the past with patience and a lot of tapping without having to use clams because there was no time restraint. With a time restraint as bad as this one, the only thing I can do is try and watch as Stripper Bonnie (and maybe Rollocop) go bye-bye at the end of this event. Sorry about the rant. Just irritated because I really want these skins, I would then have them all except for pee pants. Oh well, time to get back to angry tapping. Have a great day y’all.

Not to mention that Rollocop was supposed to be a gift to Android users for the late released of the event in our OS, but instead it’s been more of a burden really. It’s just one more thing we need to concentrate on on top of ALL OF THIS, when compared to iOS users. It is just one less thing/tasks in their (iOS users) list of things to accomplished prior to the event ending.
